  • It presented the approach method for the station braking noise present condition and a braking noise reduction plan escape of the KTX train.   • High-speed trains with maximum speed of 300km/h, named KTX, have started revenue services since April 2004. Is becoming big problem where currently the KTX train because excessive braking noise at a station platform. The KTX braking noise follows in operating mode of KTX train and important railroad station where the quality appears different, the quality against hereupon from the commerce vehicle from the research which it sees it executes and comparison to analyze.

  • Nowadays, the technology development of communication and system engineering should impact on the Train Control System(TCS). The one of main developments in TCS is the Communication Based Train Control(CBTC), which does not depend on the track circuit. Currently, there are the project to modernize TCS as CBTC system from the track circuit system around the world. In Korea, there are the new CBTC system revenue projects such as Busan-Gimhae LRT, Sin-Bundang Line, and so on. There is also Government project called Maglev Line in Daejeon, which is applied CBTC system. Through the examples of world TCS renovation, it is expected to modernize the track circuit TCS system as CBTC system in Korea. Therefore, we would express the advantage of developing from the traditional TCS system to CBTC TCS system.

공항철도연계 구간의 고속열차(KTX)와 전동열차(AREX) 혼용운용에 따른 ATP지상설비간 상호간섭 영향에 관한 연구 (Study on the mutual interference of mixed mode operation between KTX and AREX train at the airport linked line)

  • 공항 철도 연계 시설 확충 사업에 따라 수색역구내에서 공항 철도로 연결선(L=2.2km)을 건설하고 신호 시스템 및 정거장을 개량하여 경의선 수색역에서 공항 철도로 경부선 및 호남선 고속열차(KTX)를 직결 운행 할 수 있도록 하였다. KTX/AREX 열차의 혼용 운행에 따른 AREX 전동 열차의 신호 시스템은 기존과 동일한 ATC /ATO 방식으로 운행하고 KTX 고속 열차는 ERTMS/ETCS L1 ATP 방식을 신설하여 운행하기로 하였으나 "고속 열차(KTX)와 공항 철도의 지상 신호 설비" 간 및 "공항 철도 차량(AREX)과 고속 열차용 ATP 시스템 지상 설비간 상호 간섭 등의 문제점으로 인하여 고속 열차 운행이 불가능하게 되었다. 이에 공항 철도 비콘과 KTX 열차용 발리스의 특성을 비교 분석한 결과 상호 간섭에 대한 기술적 보완이 필요함을 확인하게 되었다. 따라서 이러한 복합적인 문제의 해결과 기술적 타당성을 확인하기 위해 3가지 유형의 시험 모듈로 실제의 열차를 이용하여 시험을 함으로서 "고속열차(KTX)와 공항 철도 지상 신호 설비간" 및 "공항 철도 전동차(AREX)와 고속 열차용 ATP시스템 지상 설비" 간 상호 간섭 등의 문제점을 해소하고자 한다.

  • In recent years, public complaints about railroad noise by KTX and Ordinary train are increasing. Restriction of railways uses same standard without distinguishing the type of railways. According to the type of railways, the frequency characteristics of emitting noise is different. Therefore it is requested to know how vary the public response to each types of railway. The noise annoyance to three types of trains (KTX, Electric train, Diesel train) was analyzed by Jury Evaluation Test for assessing the effect of frequency characteristics. The numerical results by a Semantic Differential Method showed that annoyance response to three type of trains depended on the frequency characteristics. As a result, this study proposed that the KTX could have a bonus level of maximum 2.9dB(A) to ordinary train.

  • Tilting train has been developed to increase the operational speed of the trains on conventional lines which have many curves. This train are lilted at curves to compensate for unbalanced carbody centrifugal acceleration to a greater extent than compensation produced by the track cant so that passengers do not feel centrifugal acceleration and thus trains can run at higher speed at curves. This paper developed tilting train to evaluate train performance of TTX(korean tilting train express) with maximum operation speed 160 km/h on Ho_nam Conventional Rail[1].

  • This paper represents the results of a complete train test of TMS(train control and management system) for korean tilting train express(TTX). This system, installed on TTX is responsible for monitors and controls of various local devices. This kind of test procedure is first time in Korea. So, we made of new standards related on a component test of the TMS and conducted to the complete Component Test and running test on conventional railway. We realized that this device is robust and good performance regarding as communication with other devices and reliability of TMS.

  • Using composite materials for the carbody of tilting train has many advantages such as manufacturing variety, specific high-strength & stiffness characteristics, and long-life durability, but the strongest advantage could be the possibility of lightweight product. In the leading countries, the composite materials are used for the material fur drivers'cabs, interior/exterior equipments for railway train, and it is now developing the composite materials applied for the train carbody structure. In this paper, we conducted the evaluation of structural stability for the aluminum and composite carbody of the Korean Tilting Train express(TTX) with the service speed of 180km/h.

  • Korean Train Express (KTX) has been commercially operating and achieving elevation on transport capacity since 2004. And the first hish-speed prototype test train, HSR-350x, was developed and succeeded in testing of running over 350km/h. Now KTX-II based on HSR-350x was started in service run. The new high-speed train development project, HEMU-400x project, has started since 2007. The protype train is being designed and manufactured. After the train are developed completely, it will run on the commercial line and will be test to verify the estimated performance. The authors devised the performance evaluation method and process of the HEMU-400x prototype system. And we introduce the definite performance test items and the method to vitrificate them in this paper.
