서비스무역통계를 활용한 업종별 경쟁력 분석 (Analysing Competitiveness by Service Classifications using EBOPS)

  • 2015년 우리나라는 약 9,632억 달러의 무역규모와 약 902억 달러의 상품무역흑자를 달성한 반면, 서비스무역은 약 152억 달러의 적자를 기록하였다. WTO에 따르면 서비스무역은 부가가치 및 고용 창출효과가 높고, 국민의 소득수준, 삶의 질 등과 밀접하게 연결되는 특성을 가지고 있다. 본 연구는 2006년부터 2015년까지 12개 항목의 서비스무역 세분류통계 정보를 분석하고 지난 10년간 업종별 서비스무역의 대외경쟁력을 측정해 보았다. 분석결과 첫째, 상품무역규모대비 서비스무역규모는 점차 증가하고 있다. 둘째, 서비스무역 업종별 경쟁력분석을 통해 정책의 수립 및 지원의 우선순위를 고려할 수 있다. 마지막으로 서비스무역 내 업종 간 연계성과 서비스무역과 상품무역 간 연계성을 고려한 정책과제 수립이 필요하다고 할 수 있다.

System Dynamics를 활용한 인천항 철재화물 물동량 예측에 관한 연구 (Forecasting the Steel Cargo Volumes in Incheon Port using System Dynamics)

  • 제조산업의 핵심 원자재인 철재화물은 항만의 처리 물동량 증대를 위한 주요화물로 자리잡고 있다. 특히 인천항의 경우 철재화물 처리실적이 타 화물에 비해 비중이 높아 항만 활성화를 위한 주요 화물이라 할 수 있다. 이러한 측면에서 인천항을 운영하는 인천항만공사는 인천항 북항지역에 철재화물과 같은 주요 벌크화물을 처리할 수 있는 전용선석 및 배후지를 북항지역에 개발하여 운영하고 있다. 하지만 실제 처리물동량이 개발 당시 예측되었던 물동량에 비해 저조한 실적을 보이면서 운영상 어려움에 직면해있다. 이러한 결과는 국내외 다양한 경제지표를 반영한 벌크화물의 수요예측이 이루어지지 못한 결과로 판단된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 시스템 다이내믹스 기법을 이용하여 국내 철재화물 관련 산업 경기 및 세계 경제상황을 고려한 인천항 철재화물 예측을 시도하였다. 그 결과 인천항에서 처리되는 철재화물 물동량은 2011년 약 8백만 톤을 시작으로 2020년 약 1천만 톤이 처리될 것이라 예측되었다. 예측치의 정확도를 검증하기 위해 절대평균오차비율을 적용한 결과 0.0013으로 정확도가 매우 높은 것으로 나타났다.

  • In 2009, the world dairy industry had the most impressive experience throughout all the experiences it had. The milk price in major regions fell to their lowest level for decades. Including Korea, the world economy is obviously slowing. The nations' export plunged due to the global economic recession, in result reduced industrial output and domestic demand. In Korea, the intake of liquid milk slightly decreased from 45 kg per capita in 2005 to 44.3 kg per capita in 2008. However, production and consumption of milk increased fast in China and India. According to 2008 statistics, total milk volume of the world trade reached 42 million tonnes and the major exporters of dairy products were EU, New Zealand, USA and Autralia. The tropical countries has traditionally consumed buffalo milk. The production of buffalo milk is increasing faster than cow milk. IDF expected that EU milk production would recover the medium term displaying a gradual growth over the milk quotas phasing-out period, while constantly remaining below the quota level.

다국적기업의 해외시장진입유형 결정요소에 관한 메타분석 - 국제기업협력 vs 100% 투자 - (A Meta Analysis on Decision Factors of a Foreign Market Entry Strategy - International Company Cooperation vs. Wholly-Owned Subsidiary -)

  • In this study aims to research and analyze what are decision factors between a wholly-owned subsidiary and a international company cooperation in the internationalization process. From 57 primary studies found 26 observed variables for aggregation of effect size in the using "Fixed Effect Model" on this mata-analysis. The article also links the theories that are used in the literature, not considered in the most of primary studies, to the empirical results and recommends global management strategy which is needed for business practical affairs. According to the result, the meta-analysis suggests that the number of employees of a MNC, the geological and cultural differneces between the host country and home country, the country-specific international experience of the MNC and export intensity, the international product diversification, the market growth and the market size of the foreign operations, and resource intensity of the foreign operations, the legal restrictions in the host country and the country risk of the home country do exert a significant effect on the decision between cooperative arrangement and a wholly-owned subsidiary. Conversely, for a large number of variables, no significant relationship seems to exist based on the combined results. This is the case, for example, for factor specificity, the r&d-intensity, the subsidiary size, the assets of the MNC and the sales volume of the MNC.

Trade Structure Analysis in the Auto Distribution Industry between Korea and the U.S.

  • Purpose - To accelerate economic cooperation, this study investigates trade structures of Korea and the United States and identifies trade discrepancies. Such discoveries can lead to increases in trade volume by improving policies, eventually uncovering ways for trade expansion. Research design, data, and methodology - The Index of trade intensity, from trade intensity theory, is used to analyze the trade decision factors. Even though specific factors should materialize in the analysis, realistically, concrete explanations are difficult as there are so many unsolved factors and diversifications. Results - First, the Index of A value/ B value positions Korean against the United States in terms of market share and Korea against world market share, which thereby reveals comparative market intensity. Second, Korea is taking comparative advantage of export specialization. Third, real comparative advantage indices are considerably improved since early 2000. Conclusions - This study uses quantitative measurements and trade intensity theory and trade specialization to come up with a comparative advantage index to see how inter-trade relations between Korea and the United States have changed over the past 10 years.

자동차 Defrost 노즐 유동의 설계인자에 대한 수치적 연구 (Numerical Study of the Design Factors for Flow Analysis of the Automotive Defrost Nozzle)

  • The frost and mist in the windshield disturb the sight of driver and passengers especially in winter. This possibly leads to safety problems. In order to export automobiles to the countries of North America, the safety regulation requires the frost of selected area should be completely melted in 30 minutes. The defrost pattern and time for melting of frost are fully dependent on the flow and temperature field near the windshield. Furthermore, the flow and temperature field near the windshield are dependent on the air discharged from defrost nozzle. The present work has been done for understanding the flow features of the discharged air and internal flow within the nozzle duct. The three dimensional Navier-Stokes code was used for performing the generic A/C duct flow analysis. The present results were nearly coincided with experimental data. To perform the parametric study of the effectiveness of the number of guide vanes, the discharge angle and the location of nozzle were changed. The ratio of volume flow rate through defrost nozzle and side exit were compared to investigate the influence of parameters on the effectiveness of defrost nozzle. The velocity profiles and flow patterns of the defrost nozzle duct were also analyzed.

Maritime Transportation Planning Support System for a Car Shipping Company

  • In order to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage in the expanding maritime transportation market, most shipping companies are making every effort to reduce transportation costs. Likewise, the car shipping companies, which carry more than 80% of total car import and export logistics volume, also do their utmost for transportation cost saving. Until now many researches have been made for efficient maritime transportation, but studies for car shipping companies have rarely been made. For this reason, this study has tried to develop a maritime transportation planning support system which can help to save logistics costs and increase a competitive power of car shipping companies. To this end, instead of manual effort to solve the routing problem of car carrier vessels, this study has used an integer programming model to make an optimal transportation planning at the minimum cost. Also in response to the frequent changes both in the car production schedule and ship's arrival schedule after the completion of transportation planning, this research has developed a decision support system of maritime transportation, so that users can easily modify their existing plans.

한·일 양국간 산업별 관세철폐 효과 (Industrial Effects of Tariff Removal between Korea and Japan)

  • 국제산업연관표를 사용하여 한일 양국간 관세가 철폐될 경우 양국의 산업 생산에 미치는 효과를 추산하였다. 양국간 관세가 철폐될 경우 한국의 대일본 중간재 의존도가 크기 때문에 한국의 대일본 수입증가로 대일본 무역수지 적자규모 또한 증가할 것으로 예상된다. 그러나 한국은 일본의 중간재에 기반한 대세계 최종재 수출이 증가할 것으로 예상된바, 대일본 무역수지 적자가 상쇄되어 한국의 전체 무역수지는 개선될 것으로 추산된다. 이러한 연구결과는 한일 양국간 FTA 체결에 따른 일반연산균형(CGE)모형에 의한 수출입 효과추정 결과와 유사하다. 한편 국제산업연관표에 의한 산업별 추산효과를 활용할 경우 동아시아 지역에서 한국정부의 정책결정 - FTA, 산업별 협력 등에 많은 도움이 될 것이다.

무역원활화가 양국 간 무역에 미치는 영향 -중국과 일대일로 회원국을 중심으로- (The Impact of Trade Facilitation on Bilateral Trade Flows-Focusing on China and the other Belt and Road member countries)

  • This study mainly measures the level of trade facilitation in member countries along the "the Belt and Road" and discusses the impact of trade facilitation on bilateral trade. Based on the research results of domestic and foreign scholars, this study made a new systematic measuring system which covering 4 indicators and 15 subordinate indicators, to obtain the trade facilitation index. Based on the extended gravity model, this paper conducts a panel data, for more than 50 major trading members along the "the Belt and Road" during 2010~2017 as an example to empirically study the relationship between the trade facilitation level of major trading members and the volume of China's import and export trade. The results show that the level of trade facilitation among member countries is not high and the trade facilitation variable has positive value, indicating that the trade facilitation variable has positive effect on increasing bilateral trade. If the trade facilitation increases by 1% respectively, the bilateral trade level will increase by 0.98% separately. Finally, according to the regression results of four aspects of the trade facilitation index system, e-business development plays the most significant role in promoting trade facilitation.

신해양질서 10년후 세계어업자원 이용동향 (The Exploitation of World Fishery Resources for 10 Years under the New Regime in the Sea)

  • In this paper, state of exploitation of world fishery resources after 10 years under the new regime in the sea, called the era of exclusive economic zone (EEZ) expending up to a 200 nautical miles from coastal line, was reviewed to determine effect from establishing EEZ in the world fishery production and its export/import volume based on the fishery statistics annually published by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of United Nation. The world total production from marine living resources had a trend showing a waned increase during 1970's when most of coastal states were translated into the reality of EEZ. From mid-1980's onwards, it increased rapidly, reaching about 85 million tons . Such increase in production was basically from the Pacific Ocean, accounting for more than 60% of the world total production. Fishing areas where showed increase in the production after the new regime in the sea were the southwestern Atlantic (FAO area 41) , the eastern Indian (FAO area 57) and the whole fishing areas in the Pacific except the eastern central Pacific (FAO area 77). Increase in the production from distant-water fishing countries came from the regions of the southwest Atlantic (FAO area 41) and the southwest Pacific (FAO area 81) . The production from coastal states was up from the regions of the eastern Indian (FAO area 57) , the northwest and northeast Pacific (FAO areas 61 and 67) and the southeast Pacific (FAO area 87) . It was likely that the exploitation of the fishable stocks was well monitored in the areas of the northwest Atlantic (FAO area 21) , the eastern central Atlantic (FAO area 34) and the northeast Pacific (FAO area 67) through appropriate management measures such as annual harvest level, establishment of total allowable catch etc. The marine fisheries resources that have made contribution to the world production, despite expansion of 200 EEZ by coastal states, were sardinellas, Atlantic cod, blue whiting and squids in the Atlantic Ocean : tunas which mainly include skipjack, yellowfin and bigeye tuna, croakers and pony fishes in the Indian Ocean : and sardine, Chilean pilchard, Alaska pollock, tunas (skipjack and yellowfin tuna) , blue grenadier and blue whiting including anchoveta in the Pacific Ocean. It was identified that both fishery production and its export since introduction of the new regime in the sea were dominated by such coastal states as USA, Canada, Indonesia, Thailand, Mexico, South Africa and Newzealand. But difficulties have been experienced in the European countries including Norway, Spain, Japan and Rep. of Korea. Therefore, majority of coastal states are unlikely to have yet undertaken proper utilization as well as rational management of marine living resources in their jurisdiction during the last two decades. The main target species groups which led the world fishery production to go up were Alaska pollock, cods, tunas, sardinellas, chub and jack mackerel and anchoveta. These stocks are largely expected to continue to contribute to the production. The fisheries resources which are unexploited, underexploited and/or lightly exploited at present and which will be contributed to the world production in future are identified with cephalopods, Pacific jack mackerel and Atlantic mackerel, silver hake including anchovies. These resources mainly distribute in the Pacific regions, especially FAO statistical fishing areas 67, 77 and 87. It was likely to premature to conclude that the new regime in the sea was only in favour of coastal states in fishey production.
