Ontology is an explicit specification of concepts and relationships between concepts in an interest domain. As considered as one of typical knowledge representation methods, ontology is applied to various studies such as information extraction, information integration, information sharing, or knowledge management. In IT based industries, ontology is applied to research on information integration and sharing in order to enhance interoperability between enterprises. In supply chains or logistics, several enterprises participate as business partners to plan movements of goods, and control goods and logistics flows. A number of researches on information integration and sharing for the effective and efficient management of logistics or supply chains have been addressed. In this paper, we address an ontology as a knowledge-base for semantic-based integration of logistics information distributed in the logistics flow. Especially, we focus on developing an ontology that enables to represent and translate semantic meaning of EPC data in the EPC Network applied logistics. We present a scenario for tracing products in logistics in order to show the value of our ontology.

It was proposed that proper problem solving practice should improve students' questioning in physics. In the previous researches, improvement in students' questioning was observed after practice of making questions given the examples of desirable questions. In this study, the problem solving strategies used by experts were introduced to students in the form of step-by-step guide to follow in problem solving practice. The directions in the guide were concrete and operational for students to understand the expected behaviors explicitly. It was assumed that students could pinpoint the difficulty specifically through this guide, which would result in positive effects on students' recognition and expression of their own questions. The subjects in this study were college freshmen enrolled in the introductory physics for science or engineering major. The physics problems from the textbook were solved and practiced in the traditional way for controlled group. Worksheets designed to follow experts' problem solving strategies were used for the experimental group. Two groups were taught in the same way during lecture part of the class. Students were asked to describe the difficulties they had during homeworks or tests. Questions in this study means these descriptions written by students although they were not necessarily in the form of interrogative sentences. The questions were analyzed both in quantity and quality. Quantitatively, more students spontaneously turned in their questions in the experimental group than in the controlled group. Regarding the quality, there were more students in the experimental group than in the controlled group who described their difficulties in detail or recognized the need for the procedural knowledge.
Although mixed calculation of natural numbers is important in that it completes arithmetic calculation of natural numbers in elementary school, few studies have been conducted regarding its instruction methods. Given this, this study analyzed Korean mathematics textbooks (from the fifth textbooks to the 2009 revised textbooks) along with Japanese and Singaporean textbooks in terms of the parentheses and the order of operations regarding mixed calculation of natural numbers. The results of this study showed that there were differences in introducing the parentheses and representing them in an explicit way per textbooks. In the Korean textbooks, the order of operations was presented mostly with the real-life contexts but it was not always in a diagrammatic representation. In contrast, in the Singaporean textbooks, the order of operations was presented without the real-life contexts and the use of calculators was emphasized. In the Japanese textbooks, the order of operations was presented with the real-life contexts and a hierarchy of operations was emphasized. Based on these results, this study suggested several implications of textbook development and instructional methods regarding mixed calculations of natural numbers.
The objects generated by the keyword new in Java are automatically managed by the garbage collector Inside Java Virtual Machine (JVM) not like using the keywords free or delete in C or C++ programming environments. This provides a means of freedom of memory management burden to the application programmers. The garbage collector however. inherently has its own run time execution overhead. Thus it causes the performance degradation of JVM significantly. In order to mitigate the execution burden of a garbage collector, we propose a novel way of dynamic memory management scheme in Java environment. In the proposed method, the application programmers can explicitly manage the objects In a simple way, which in consequence the run-time overhead can be reduced while the garbage collector is under processing. In order to accomplish this, Java application firstly calls the APIs that arc implemented by native Jana, and then calls the subroutines depending on the JVM, which in turn support to keep the portability characteristic Java has. In this way, we can not only sustain the stability in execution environments. but also improve performance of garbage collector by simply calling the APIs. Our simulation study show that the proposed scheme improves the execution time of the garbage collector from 10.07 percent to 52.24 percent working on Mark-and-Sweep algorithm.
The purpose of this study are as follows : First, This study conceptually provide an insight of reasons that organizations seek to create, acquire, store and distribute knowledge at the level of an organization and of process how they can transform or evolve to knowledge based organizations. Second, this study confirms examine what theories can be used to knowledge management, how such theories can be useful to analyse knowledge management and provide a theoretical foundation for knowledge management research. Applied to the theories of knowledge based and resource based view and institutional theory, the essence of knowledge management confirms that the organization finds job-related knowledge and know-how retained by individual of organizational members systematically and shares common knowledge within the organization and explains knowledge creation, multi-dimensional knowledge transition and share in all dimension of individual, group, and organization. As a result of comparative analysis of theory of organizational knowledge creation theory, In knowledge management, building of knowledge-creative culture, transitional process of explicit knowledge and tacit knowledge, knowledge creation and knowledge operation are important. In the basis on these study results, we discussed how the organizational knowledge creation theory can be used to manage knowledge in the organization, and also proposed hypotheses based on some arguments against the universal acceptance of the theory.

The IRR(internal rate of return) is often used by investors for the evaluation of engineering projects. Unfortunately, it has serial flaws: (1) multiple real-valued IRRs may arise; (2) complex-valued IRRs may arise; (3) the IRR is, in special cases, incompatible with the net present value (NPV) in accept/reject decisions. The efforts of management scientists and economists in providing a reliable project rate of return have generated over the decades an immense amount of contributions aiming to solve these shortcomings. Especially, multiple internal rate of returns (IRRs) have a fatal flaw when we decide to accep it or not. To solve it, some researchers came up with external rate of returns (ERRs) such as ARR (Average Rate of Return) or MIRR (MIRR, Modified Internal Rate of Return). ARR or MIRR. will also always yield the same decision for a engineering project consistent with the NPV criterion. The ERRs are to modify the procedure for computing the rate of return by making explicit and consistent assumptions about the interest rate at which intermediate receipts from projects may be invested. This reinvestment could be either in other projects or in the outside market. However, when we use traditional ERRs, a volume of capital investment is still unclear. Alternatively, the productive rate of return (PRR) can settle these problems. Generally, a rate of return is a profit on an investment over a period of time, expressed as a proportion of the original investment. The time period is typically the life of a project. The PRR is based on the full life of the engineering project. but has been annualised to project one year. And the PRR uses the effective investment instead of the original investment. This method requires that the cash flow of an engineering project must be separated into 'investment' and 'loss' to calculate the PRR value. In this paper, we proposed a tabulated form for easy calculation of the PRR by modifing the profit and loss statement, and the cash flow statement.

In general, an HTTP server sends information in response to requests from clients. Since it does not support active information delivery to clients, it can not efficiently provide the rapidly changing information to clients. Overcoming this shortcoming of the HTTP protocol, the technology known as server push enables the HTTP server to actively provide information to clients without explicit requests from clients. Adobe BlazeDS is a web server supporting the server push technology, helping users to develop web-based push applications. Unfortunately, since the BlaseDS server have no functions of filtering the information to be pushed according to various types of users, there are difficulties in developing push applications handling various situations in a efficient way. In this paper, to support effective development of push applications on BlazeDS we present the methods of adding a message filtering facility to BlazeDS and utilizing it. According to the filtering request of clients, the message filtering facility modifies information to be pushed, sending the modified information to the clients. The extended BlazeDS server with the message filtering facility provides environments to easily develop push services customized for various clients with their own situations.
This dissertation investigated the evaluation model of IT Service quality: concentrated on the quality components in mobile communication service. Today, mobile communication service is changing dramatically. The first and second generation's mobile communication services were designed for voice and SMS(Short Message Service). However, while the mobile communication industry grows, the mobile technology made more services available for customers. Customers' changing needs brought a new opportunities to the market. Now, mobile communication service is facing a new era as multi-functioning, multimedia service, and high speed data transfer service are being introduced. There has been a lot of theoretical literature on service quality components of mobile communication, but most of the literature was focused on the voice service and SMS(1st and 2nd generation). As mobile communication service evolves, the components may have to be altered or rebuilt. To identify which service quality components ought to be utilized, prior studies on service quality components, service quality, and customer satisfaction were reviewed. Also, a survey was conducted on the various aspects of mobile communication service. This study suggests 6 components of service quality: those are supporting facilities, cellular phone(facilitating goods), quality of the voice service(explicit service), supplementary services, supporting services, and cost. Empirical results supported that all of these components are proven as the service quality components, but, with regards to customer satisfaction, only cellular phone(facilitating goods) and supplementary services are effective. As previously stated, the relationship between service quality and customer satisfaction is also proven. This study is a point of departure for the success of upcoming generation's mobile communication service. It identifies what is valuable from the customer's point of view. Furthermore, it suggests some ideas to prepare for future market opportunities.
The significance of Presidential Impeachment in 2004 is subject to interpretations in many different contexts, but its nature as its justice was the constitutional trial by the nation's impeachment system. This study set out to compare and analyze the understanding of the event centered around its nature as "an impeachment event as a public activity" and the records related to it. For that purpose, the study attempted to analyze the impeachment event to understand it as a public activity and examined and analyzed the records of the impeachment event in the public domain through personal visit, phone interview, and request of information disclosure based on the analysis results. An impeachment event as a public activity can be understood as an activity carried out by the National Assembly, which is to issue a motion for impeachment under the norms of the nation's impeachment system, and Constitutional Court, which is responsible for impeachment trial, through their unique rights prescribed in the Constitution. The important subjects of such a public activity included the accused president, the acting presidential system created by the motion for impeachment, and the National Election Commission that provided a decisive ground for impeachment. It was confirmed that the records, which are legal requirements, were well created and have been preserved and managed in the public domain. However, it was difficult to conclude that the records of the impeachment event were thoroughly created in terms of content in relation to affairs as they mainly covered the superficial treatment processes and the results of explicit activities. There was, in particular, the absence of records showing the context of activity.
This research aims to analyze the role of social care services after the unification, assuming that the unification would occur in 2020 in a peaceful manner. While much has been discussed about the unification in recent years inside or outside academia, most of discussion tends to focus on political and economic dimensions. Also, social policy studies on North Korean defectors have increased, but few pay attention to social policy strategies after the possible unification. In this context, this study explores various explicit and implicit roles of social care services and possible strategies after the unification. As research methodology, it employs one of the scenario methods, 'TAIDA', for projecting and simulating uncertain future. In so doing, first, it reviews South and North Korean socio-economic experiences during last two decades as feedback and German unification experiences as feedforward. In addition, it utilizes a expert survey. Based on the reviews together with the survey result, it discusses various influences of social care services after the unification and draws policy implications. This research aruges that social care services could have profound effects on the stability of socio-economic conditions after the unification.
