The purpose of this work was to perform the characterization of NAD(P)H-nitroreductase isolated from Stenotrophomonas sp. OK-5 capable of degrading 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT). Initially, NADP(H)-nitroreductase by a series of purification processes including ammonium sulfate precipitation, DEAE-sepharose, andQ-sepharose was prepared. From samples harvested from fraction collector, three different fractions (I, II & III)having the enzyme activity of NAD(P)H-itroreductase were detected. Specific activities of three fractions I, II,and III of NAD(P)H-nitroreductase were determined to approximately 5.06 unit/mg, 4.95 unit/mg and 4.86 unit/mg, and concentrated to 10.5, 9.8, and 8.9-fold compared to crude extract, respectively. Among these three fractions,the fraction I of NAD(P)H-nitroreductase demonstrated the highest specific activity in this experiment. Several factors affecting on the enzyme activity of NAD(P)H-nitroreductase (fractions I, II & III) were investigated.The optimum temperature of all NAD(P)H-nitroreductase (fractions I, II & III) was 30oC, and the optimal pH was approximately 7.5. Metal ions such as Ag+, Cu2+, Hg2+ inhibited approximately 80% enzyme activity of all NAD(P)H-nitroreductase, and the enzyme activities were decreased about 30-40% inhibition in the presence of Mn2+ or Ca2+. However, Fe3+ showed stimulatory effect on the enzyme activity. The molecular weights of NAD(P)H-nitroreductase (fractions I, II & III) were measured about 27 kDa on the SDS-PAGE.
In greenhouse farming, a variety of humic acids have been applied to improve soil conditions and plant growth. However, it is still unclear that how humic acids combined with chemical fertilizers affect growth and quality of fruit vegetable crops. This study was conducted to determine the combination effect of humic acids and chemical fertilizers on the growth and fruit quality of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum MILL.) grown under greenhouse conditions. Three different formulation types of humic acid were used: liquid type A, liquid type B and solid type C. The tomato plants were grown in three treatment combination plots and in conventional fertilizer (CF) plot with recommended levels of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium: HA combined with CF (HA+CF), HB combined with CF (HB+CF) and HC combined with CF (HC+CF). For most of growth characteristics (i.e. leaf number, internode length, maximum leaf length, leaf width and chlorophyll contents) determined in this experiment, no significant differences were observed between all combination treatments and CF. However, integrated fruit qualities (i.e. averaged weight, sugar contents and acidity) were slightly improved in the humic acid combined with CF treatments when compared with CF alone treatment. No phytotoxicity was observed with humic acid treatments. However, further studies will probably be needed to use widely and safely these humic acids, in order to ensure a maximizing growth, fruit yield and quality of tomato.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of peer tutoring on mathematical inclination and mathematical communication ability of peer tutor. For the purpose of this study, research questions were established as follows: 1. How does peer tutoring affect to the mathematical inclination of peer tutors? 2. How does peer tutoring affect to the mathematical communication ability of peer tutors? To answer the research questions, four 5th grade peer tutors were selected for qualitative case study in an elementary school located in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do. Before and after 11 weeks of peer tutoring in their mathematics classes, mathematical inclination, mathematical communication ability of peer tutors were examined. For qualitative analysis, peer tutors were asked to complete worksheets, self-evaluation, journal for their peer tutoring in daily basis during the experiment. By comparing the scores in mathematical inclination test and mathematical communication test before and after the treatment and analyzing the data gathered for qualitative analysis, the conclusions were drawn as follows: First, Peer tutoring has positive effects on the mathematical inclination of peer tutors. Scores for mathematical inclination of peer tutors after the treatment increased and qualitative analysis showed positive change in their attitude toward mathematics. Second, Peer tutoring has positive effects on the mathematical communication ability of peer tutors. Scores in the performance assessment for mathematical communication ability of peer tutors after the treatment increased. Also qualitative analysis showed that peer tutors tried to develop various ways to solve a problem and explained them to their peer tutee sophisticatedly.
Concept and model of multiplication is not single. Concepts of multiplication can be classified into three cases: repeated addition, times idea, pairs set. Models of multiplication can be classified into four cases: measurement, rectangular pattern, combinatorial problem, number line. Among diverse cases of multiplication's concept and model, which case does elementary mathematics education lay stress on? This question is a controvertible didactical point. In this thesis, (1) mathematical and didactical analysis of multiplication's concept and model is performed, (2) a concrete program of teaching multiplication which is based on times idea is contrived, (3) With this new program, the teaching experiment is performed and its result is analyzed. Through this study, I obtained the following results and suggestions. First, the degree of testee's understanding of times idea is not high. Secondly, a sort of test problem which asks the testee to find times value is more easy than the one to find multiplicative resulting value. Thirdly, combinatorial problem can be handled as an application of multiplication. Fourthly, the degree of testee's understanding of repeated addition is high. In conclusion, I observe the fact that this new program which is based on times idea could be a alternative program of teaching multiplication which could complement the traditional method.

The major problems of food crop cultivation in Korea are low yield of most crops except rice. inefficient cultivation techniques for aged farmers. and low international competibility. Therefore, development of cultivation techniques of food crops should aim the yield. quality improvement, labor reduction and production cost. The primary issue for increasing the yield of soybean, barely and wheat is to reduce the yield gap between the farmer's yield and recommended ones of experiment station. More advanced cultivation techniques needs to be developed. and/or the conventional breeding methods to be reconsidered. The newly developed labor-saving mechanized technique needs to reduce labor hours , and the cost of agricultural implements and machineries. In other words the labor-saving mechanized technique should be developed based on the improvement of total farming system as well as systemic fundamental innovation of cultural methods. The efficiency of solar energy use in food production of Korea in 1997 is as low as $0.52{\%}$ so there is much room to increase yield. It is recommendable that the concept of food Production should be changed to energy Producing efficiency Per unit area basis from volume and weight of food materials. Moreover, introduction of resonable cropping system is needed to increase yield of main crops, farmer's income, solar energy use efficiency, and decrease of land service expenditure. Current cropping system emphasized on economic crops. especially in vegetables , is not desirable for resonable use of arable land. stability of agricultural management and staple food crop self-sufficiency ratio. It is desirable to increase food crops . that are energy of carbohydrate and protein rich and land dependent crops. in cropping system. And the agronomist should develop the cultural methods to replace food crops for food self-sufficiency and stable farming management instead of economic crops in current cropping system. Low-input and environmentally-sound crop cultivation techniques, especially nitrogen-reducing culture technique which is directly related to food crop quality, also needs to be developed urgently. The extended cultivation of corn in upland and barely and wheat in lowland as a feed stuffs is recommended to prevent further decrease of food self-sufficiency ratio, which is mainly caused by the high reliance on imported feed grain. It is also considered that the calculation and presentation methods of standard agricultural income needs to be improved. The current calculation method uses unit land area of 10a regardless of crop kinds , characteristics of agricultural management and cultivation scale. So, it is apt to lead misunderstanding of farm income value. Therefore. it should show an income of average farmers for certain number of years. Research and developing system for food producing is not desirable because they are conducted currently individual crop and mono-culture basis. But actual agricultural income is usually earned by cropping system including upland and lowland. For example. the barley and wheat is usually cultivated in double cropping system. The cooperation among research institutes such as university agribusiness. government and farmers is indispensible. The public information and education on importance and consumption habit of food crops is necessary in Korean society to increase food self-sufficiency through nationwide cooperation.
In the present study, adaptability of cyber-physical system (CPS) for risk management of $CO_2$ storage site is examined and the subagging regression (SBR) method is proposed as a key component of the cyber-twin to estimate the risk due to potential $CO_2$ leakage. For these purposes, $CO_2$ concentration data monitored from a controlled $CO_2$ release field experiment is employed to validate the potentialities of the SBR method. From the validation study, it is found that the SBR method has robust estimation capability by showing minimal influence from anomalous measurements, and makes stable and sound predictions for the forthcoming $CO_2$ concentration trend. In addition, the method is found to be well suited as a tool of operational risk assessment based on real-time monitoring data due to the computational efficiency. The overall results suggest that the SBR method has potential to be an important component comprising the cyber twin of CPS for risk management of $CO_2$ storage site.

In this paper, a gas sensor using a modified $90^{\circ}$ hybrid coupler structure with conducting polymer which operates at 2.4 GHz is represented. Conducting polymers are used to the gas sensing material in proposed sensors. The conducting polymer varies its electrical property, such as work function and conductivity corresponding to the certain gas. To verify this variation of electrical property of conducting polymer at microwave frequencies, the conducting polymer is incorporated with the $90^{\circ}$ hybrid coupler structure, and this proposed sensor operates as reflection type variable attenuator and variable phase shifter. The conducting polymer is employed as impedence-variable transmission lines that cause a impedance mismatching between the general transmission line and conducting polymer. The experiment was conducted with 100 ppm ethanol gas at temperature of $28^{\circ}C$ and relative humidity of 85 %. As a result, the amplitude deviation of $S_{21}$ is 0.13 dB and the frequency satisfying ${\angle}S_{21}=360^{\circ}$ is shifted about 2.875 MHz.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to compare educational effects between traditional classroom instruction and video self-instruction (VSI) for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in boy's high school students. Methods: This study was carried out targeting totally 96 boy students(47 people for experimental group, 49 people for control group) in the second grade of high school where is located in G city of G province from July 9-10, 2009. The experimental group and control group were arbitrarily selected two classes in the second grade. One class was assigned to the experimental group. another class was assigned to the control group. The experimental group was educated with VSI for CPR. The control group was educated with traditional classroom instructions for CPR. The analysis was performed with SPSS WIN (version 12.0) program using frequency chi-square($x^2$) test, independent samples t-test, and paired t-test. Results: After instructions, the knowledge, attitude, self-confidence, and skill performance accuracy scores on CPR increased statistically in both group. The increases of self-confidence ($2.40{\pm}0.73$) and skill performance accuracy score ($2.67{\pm}0.29$) in the experiment group were significantly higher than those ($2.01{\pm}0.96$ and $2.54{\pm}0.31$) in the control group, respectively. Conclusion: This study suggested that VSI was more effective than traditional classroom education for self-confidence and skill-performance accuracy in CPR. To confirm it, more studies are warranted.
Advances in computer technology have enabled us to develop and use numerical landscape evolution models (NLEMs) for exploring the dynamics of geomorphic system from a variety of viewpoints which previously could have not been taken. However, as of yet there have been no trials using or developing NLEMs in Korea. The purpose of this research is to develop a 2 dimensional NLEM on a geological time scale and evaluate its usefulness. The newly developed NLEM (ND-NLEM) treats bedrock weathering as one of the major geomorphic processes and attempts to simulate the thickness of soil. As such it is possible to model the weathering-limited as well as the transport-limited environment on hillslopes. Moreover the ND-NLEM includes not only slow and continuous mass transport like soil creep, but also rapid and discrete mass transport like landslides. Bedrock incision is simulated in the ND-NLEM where fluvial transport capacity is large enough to move all channel bed loads, such that ND-NLEM can model the detachment-limited environment. Furthermore the ND-NLEM adopts the D-infinity algorithm when routing flows in the model domain, so it reduces distortion due to the use of the steepest descent slope flow direction algorithm. In the experiments to evaluate the usefulness of the ND-NLEM, characteristics of the channel network observed from the model results were similar to those of the case study area for comparison, and the hypsometry curve log during the experiment showed rational evidence of landscape evolution. Therefore, the ND-NLEM is shown to be useful for simulating landscape evolution on a geological time scale.

In this study we investigated the adequacy of tools for distinction gifted students through the comparison these mutual relation on the basis of data, like paper test, the depths interview score, and the rest data((TTCT: Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking, IQ test, FASP: Find A Shape Puzzle, V.T: Visualization Tests and Exp: experimental ability test), and analysis data of EEG test for examining the adequacy of tools for identification gifted students. So, we developed Brain Wave gifted Index(G-Index) for finding another distinction ability as using brain waves data. The standard of index development use gifted brain characteristic in closed-eyes rest state which is judged like that characteristic of distinction between gifted and normal students is the most clear and consistence. That is, the degree of unified pattern between each object and gifted PCA pattern was defined by Pearson method which added spatial mutual index to weight concept. This refer to mean number of spatial PCA pattern. Searching for the possibility of distinction gifted gave distinction effect in 76%. The result of regression analysis on the basis of mutual relation between the rest data is . The probability formula for distinct gifted group is as follow. $$P=\frac 1{1+e^{-[-0.018(TTCT)+0.057(IQ)+1.916(FASP)+0.682(V.T)+0.088(Exp.)+0.034(G-Index)-57.510]}}$$ The result of this calculation showed that probability for distinct in gifted group was very good(95.0%). On the basis of upper result, tools for identification gifted students should be estimated as using many-sided estimation data whatever possible. And following study about development, and operation of tools for distinction suitable to gifted student in science should be progressed.
