The purpose of this study was to evaluate the degree of wear of periodontal curet's cutting edges made by three different manufacturers. In the first case of the experiment, this study was done with each new curett in the following three experiment. Twelve new double-ended No. 11/12 Gracy curettes from three different manufacturers (A, B and C) was randomly selected from our stock at first test. They were weared by wear tester with fixed pressure and limited distance. This study measured the width of worn curettes'cutting edge. The results were as follows ; 1)In 50 times experiment, this study discoverd that each manufacturer's curette was appeared with different degree of wear (p<0.01) 2)In 100 times experiment, this study result similarly to the 50 times experiment(p<0.01). 3)In 150 times experiment, the result of this study were alike as the X50 experiment and X100 experiment. In the second case of the experiment, the study was done with a curett of a manufacturer in the following three experiment. Two double-ended No. 11/12 Gracy curette from three different manufactures (A, B and C) was randomly selected from our stock at second test. 1)In 50 times experiment, this study discovered that each manufacturer's curette was appeared with different degree of wear (p<0.05). 2)In 100 times experiment, the result was same, compared with the 50 times experiment. 3)In 150 times experiment, this study also discovered that the result was same with the result of the upper two cases. In conclusion, this study discovered that the two cases of experimental were shown with a same result.

The purpose of this study lies in finding out a betterment of ongoing experimental training program in science for the secondary science teachers to increase their training ability more effectively. For this, from 2010 July to September, a preliminary study on secondary science experiment training, questionnaire on the satisfaction of 128 secondary teachers in U metropolitan city with the training program were carried out which were contributive to the preparation of a better plan for the training program to be helpful for the teachers at schools. Following are the study results. First, the class theme should be selected by the teachers who participate in the experiment for the year to raise their training ability for experiment class. Second, the direct activity of the teachers' joining in experiment training for the development of experiment training module, and the demonstration with the developed module-used experiment class need to be included to the program Third, the assessment for the demonstration of experiment attitude, the development process of experiment training module, would be more advisable compared with that for written examination for the teachers joined in the experiment training to concentrate more on the experimental activities and to get richer experiment experience As this study results show, the theme selection, class method and assessment method involved in ongoing experiment training need for betterment for the science teachers to apply it at schools and this improved experiment training program proposed by this study is suitable for that under a condition it has to be modified and supplemented to the distinct features of every city and province.
This study suggested a teaching method to improve intuitive understanding of the statistical basic concepts about the central limit theorem with experiment. It is very hard to understand about the concept of the central limit theorem in the school mathematics class. The result of this study experiment for the class of statistics education shows that the students and mathematics teachers were interesting at this experiment. They corrected their misunderstanding about the central limit theorem by discussion for the result of experiment with team members. I think that this study can help teachers to teach the students using the experiment method.

The objectives of this study were 1) to explore the present status of extension services of agricultural experiment station, and 2) to get some implications for ameliorating extension services of agricultural experiment station. The data were collected through the semi-constructed interviews with 11 agricultural researchers in 6 local agricultural experiment stations and 11 farmers who have ever made contact with the researchers. The major findings of this study were as follows: The agricultural experiment stations were providing extension services as expedients to accommodate to new markets and structural changes of organizations, though they are originally research-oriented agencies. The extension methods of agricultural experiment stations were similar with those of extension agencies, and the extension methods used mainly were 'experiment plot demonstration exhibition', 'consultation using telephone, internet, face to face meeting', 'visiting farms and consulting'. These were generally carried out by farmer's request, therefore the extension services of agricultural experiment stations were provided in a passive way so far. Based on the results of this study, the followings are recommended for further development of extension services of agricultural experiment station: The rural development organizations should set principles and support for extension services of agricultural experiment stations. The alternative plans to strengthen the linkage between research and extension have to be made, and these plans should include financial, personnel and systematic arrangements for further development of extension services of agricultural experiment stations.

This study was to compare 'experiment' presentation types of middle school science textbooks of Korea, Japan, and China and to draw some implication for the improvement of Korean science textbooks. It analyzed the experiments from the unit 'Light' of science textbooks which is common content in all three different science textbooks. The researchers analyzed the experiments with two questions. First, how is the experiment organized? Second, what role does each element of the experiment is playing in the experiment setting? The findings of international comparative analysis of experiment presentation types of middle school science textbooks of three countries were as follows. First, the Korean and Chinese textbooks tended to present the experiments without enough information for the experimental process and method, whereas the Japanese textbook tended to present the experiment with detailed information for the experimental method and process. Second, whereas the Korean and Chinese textbooks tended to have a loosened relationship among pre-experimental content, experiment, after-experiment content, the Japanese textbook tended to have an organic relationship among pre-experimental content, experiment, after-experiment content.

The purpose of this study is to examine what effects the experiment class to stress discussion of small groups in scientific experiment class of the elementary school has on scientific achievement and attitude on the science of the students comparing to the usual scientific experiment class. For that purpose, this study has divided 49 students at the 6th grade of the M elementary school in P City into test groups of 24 students and control groups of 25 students. Classes have been progressed by giving sufficient time to the test groups for discussion by each small groups after experiment while by allowing the control groups to finish the experiment with arrangement of the experiment results. Conclusions of this study include: First, the more familiar the experiment materials are and the easier the experiment procedures are to be operated by the students, the more actively the small group discussion activities have been deployed. It shows that the students need a certain level of background knowledge before experiment for vital discussing activities. Second, it is appeared that the test groups given the scientific experiment class stressing small group discussing activity have significantly high scores comparing to the control groups given the existing scientific experiment class. It shows that the small group discussing activities have effects on promoting understanding of the students on the scientific achievement for the scientific experiment class. Third, it is appeared that the test groups given the scientific experiment class stressing small group discussing activity significantly high scores on attitude about the science comparing to the control groups given the existing scientific experiment class. It is considered that the students could have opportunities to compare their own thoughts with others and to have reflective thought to change their thoughts through the small group discussing activity. As shown above, it shows that the experiment class to stress discussing activities is more effective to increase scientific achievement and attitude about the science than the scientific experiment class to get and arrange the experiment results from the existing experiment classes.

This study aimed to analyze the teachers' cognitions about the primary science textbooks(experiment and observation) used in elementary schools. This study surveyed 211 teachers in Seoul and Gyeonggi province. The data were statistically analyzed by SPSS WIN 10.0. The results of this study are as follows : Most of the teachers showed positive opinions on the directions of the compilation of experiment and observation textbook. Teachers used experiment and observation textbook as summary notes, experiment reports and evaluating methods. The experiment and observation textbooks should be compiled and reorganized in order as follows : Lesson introduction, inquiry activities, and intensive and supplementary activities which are followed by space of description in experiment and observation textbook.
The purpose of this study is to develop and evaluate the Self Efficacy Promotion and Exercise Program to prevent of obesity and cardiovascular diseases for the kidney transplant recipients. The subjects were selected randomly among the patients who underwent kidney transplantations at one major transplantation hospital in Seoul, Korea. This study ws carried out between November 23, 1999 and February 15, 2000. The subjects in this study consisted of 16 patients who had kidney transplantations between 1 month and 12 months ago prior to this study. They were all on steroids therapy and did not take any physical exercise regularly. The subjects received the self efficacy promotion and exercise program for 12 weeks which contained self efficacy promotion education and exercise program. The weight, body fat rate, exercise time and cardiopulmonary function were evaluated before the experiment and after the experiment. The results were as follows: 1. After the experiment, the weight was significantly decreased than that of before the experiment(p=.0001). 2. After the experiment, the body fat rate was significantly decreased than that of before the experiment(p=.0010). 3. After the experiment, the exercise time was significantly increased than that of before the experiment(p=.0002). 4. After the experiment, the absolute VO2 was significantly increased than that of before the experiment(p=.0008). 5. After the experiment, the relative VO2 was significantly increased than that of before the experiment(p=.0002). This study showed that the self efficacy promotion and exercise program was effective. So it would be expected that this self efficacy promotion and exercise program could be applied as an effective independent nursing intervention widely in prevention of obesity and cardiovascular diseases for kidney transplant recipients.

The purpose of this study is (1) to develop the teaching plan based on Practical Problems solving on the area of food habits in home economics class and (2) to investigate the participation of teaching, the attitude of teaching method and food life. The subject of this study was two classes consisted off 66 students(male 26. female 40, 33 for each class) who are the first grade of middle school. The comparison group was taught by lecturing. while the experiment group by cooperative learning. The period of this experiment was three weeks: from June 7th to Jun 23th. 1999. The experiment was conducted through 5 classes. First of all students identify the problem of food habits and seek and evaluate information. Students evaluate actions and reflect on decision and evaluate action. The statistical method for the study was a paired T-test. The results of this study are as follows: 1. After experiment, the participation of teaching(p<.05) and the attitude of teaching method(p<.01) in the experiment group showed a statistically significant difference. Therefore the students in the class based on the practical problems solving took an active part in teaching 2. The practical problems solving is more effective than the lecturing in doing guide the positive attitude of teaching. 3. Through the experiment the attitude of food life in the experiment group showed a statistically significant difference(p<.05) Therefore the practical problems solving is more effective than the lecturing in changing positive attitude of food life.
