The purpose of this study was to observe five teachers' science classes and analyze the patterns of their analogies. To analyze the data, investigator triangulation was used, and the results were as follows: First, among the patterns of analogy used, expressions of similes and metaphors were utilized by all the teachers; teachers with over ten years' experience used adult's daily phrases, and teachers with under ten years' experience tended to use anthropomorphism. Regarding pictorial analogies, these manifested themselves in the sixth period, while teachers with over ten years' experience drew a simple picture about circulation of water, teachers with under one year's experience made additional materials for their analogy and they put an emphasis on the concept of the circulation itself. Teachers tended to use analogs according to their interests; teachers who majored in science education used pictorial analogies for further study. Second, the patterns emerging from the correspondence of the analogy manifested themselves in all the teachers equally, but they have no relation to the teacher's background. Third, routine analogy and artificial analogy appeared equally in consideration of degree of artificiality among the patterns of the analogies used. Regarding routine analogy, most teachers tended to look for analogs from things and experiences from themselves or their own backgrounds rather than those of the students. Regarding artificial analogies, teachers tended to purposely choose analogs to help students to understand; energetic teachers sometimes failed to choose appropriate analogs because they approached the topic with too much intensity. While a teacher who lacked experience and interest in science used many expressions of analogy, a teacher who felt some degree of constraint rarely used expressions of analogy. Fourth, most of the teachers used analogs familiar to their own experiences but students often found understanding these analogs difficult. Therefore, teachers need to make greater efforts to utilize analogs which are especially familiar to students when they attempt to explain science concepts.
This paper verifies the effect of the personal dietary habits on students' school lunch satisfaction and the effect of food related activities such as rural communities' experience and safe and nutrition education. Personal dietary habits (5-Likert scale), satisfaction of school lunch (5-Likert scale), and rural community experiences, are investigated. A survey from 10 middle schools in Gyeonggi-do was undertaken from September to October, 2014. Multi regression analysis and t -test are applied. This study applied factor analysis and derived three latent variables in order to know the latent variables of eating habits. Students with rural communities' experience are satisfied with school lunches more than those who have not experienced it. Further related education (such as eating habits, safe and organic food) have a positive effect on students' school lunch satisfaction. Appreciation for school lunch (p<.001) and eating breakfast (p<.01) are significant among the independent variables that included three latent variables, the taste of school lunch (p<.001), eating well all kinds of food (p <.001). The results shows that students with a balanced diet are more satisfied with school lunches. Personal eating habits and understanding food and agriculture are important factors to improve students' satisfaction about school lunch on top of the quality of food and facilities. Students with rural community experience show improved satisfaction and this experience can be a good way for students to understand food. Food related education (including farming) are recommended to raise student school lunch satisfaction.
This study was conducted in order to compare weight control behaviors, eating disorder risk, and depression in female adolescents according to dieting experience during the last year. The subjects were 707 students attending a girls' high school in Seoul, and all the information was collected by self-administered questionnaire. Eating disorder risk and depression were determined by using EAT-26 (Eating Attitude Test-26) and PHQ-9 (Patient Health Questionnaire-9), respectively. Data were compared between subjects with experience of dieting (320) and those without (387). More of the subjects with dieting experience were unsatisfied with their own body weights (76.9% vs. 44.2%, P<0.01) and weighed themselves frequently (P<0.01) compared to those without diet experience. EAT-26 ($11.63{\pm}8.3$ vs. $5.99{\pm}4.7$, P<0.01) and PHQ-9 scores ($7.05{\pm}4.6$ vs. $6.00{\pm}4.4$, P<0.01) were higher in subjects with dieting experience compared to their counterparts. Therefore, we concluded that dieting is associated with several undesirable psychological aspects such as eating disorder risk and depression in adolescent girls, and thus providing proper education is urgently needed to emphasizing importance of healthy weight and the danger of unnecessary dieting.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of flow experience and learning competency on learning satisfaction after virtual simulation-based nursing practice education for the elderly. The subjects of this study were 72 nursing students and data were collected through online surveys from April 2 to May 7, 2021. Data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 24.0 program by descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation, multiple regression analysis. As a result of the study, the learning satisfaction of nursing students after virtual simulation education showed a significant positive correlation with flow experience (r=.656, p<.001) and learning competency (r=.672, p<.001). The most influential factors on learning satisfaction were learning competency (𝛽=.459, p<.001) and flow experience (𝛽=.413, p<.001), and the explanatory power of the model was 60.9%. Therefore, in order to improve learning satisfaction after virtual simulation education, it is suggested to develop ways to promote flow experience in practice and improve individual learning capabilities.
The purpose of this study is to explore their experience through teachers' interviews in research schools for the Education for Sustainable Development(ESD). The first issue for ESD in school was about how to approach ESD and how to combine it with the school curriculum. Of course, ESD can be approached through both subjects and discretion, which are operated with focus on experiential study. Most teachers approached ESD through subjects, but they had a lot of difficulties in its implementation because of insufficient understanding. The advantage of ESD programs is to provide students with an opportunity for experiential activity based on localization. However, difficult parts in applying ESD to school education were matters of budget for invitation of experts or for the experience learning as well as overworking of the teachers with conceptualization of ESD. Consequently, there has been change in the perception of teachers and students through ESD in schools, which have influence on the integrated thinking from diverse perspectives. Stories of research school teachers offered through categorization of interviews will provide a lot of help in the process of applying ESD to school education in the future.

The research examines individual environmental characteristics, the consciousness energy conservation and behavior level of college students that relate to the experience of taking courses on residential energy use held in college, as well as the influence of experiencing school education in the past. This is to ultimately evaluate the effect of school education on the consciousness of the energy conservation and behavior level of college students at present time, in order to assist in proposing a direction for the school education on residential energy use. The results of the research can be summarized as follows: First, there appeared a gap between the group that has attended courses on residential energy use and the group that has not in terms of their major, school year and the level of consciousness of the need for energy conservation. Second, students that have attended courses on residential energy use in college were reported to have received more training in high school through textbooks and guidance of teachers and have more experience in special education. And third, it appeared that taking courses in residential energy use by college students are influenced by personal factors such as their school year and gender, major, contents of their high school textbooks and the level of consciousness of the need for energy conservation.
Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of a one-session spouse-support enhancement childbirth education on childbirth selfcefficacy and perception of childbirth experience. Methods: The design of this study was a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest experiment. The participants in the study were 31 couples in the experimental group and 30 in the control group. The experimental couples were provided with one session on spouse-support enhancement childbirth education the night before delivery. Data were collected at two hours after delivery using the Childbirth Self-Efficacy Inventory (CBSEI) and perception of childbirth experience scale. Data were analyzed using PASW statistics 18 program. Frequencies, percentage, mean, $x^2test$, t-test were used for data analysis. Results: Childbirth self-efficacy significantly increased in the experimental group as compared to the control group, but there was no significant difference in perception of childbirth experience in the experimental group compared to the control group. Conclusion: The results suggest that a one-session childbirth education has beneficial effects on enhancing childbirth self-efficacy in pregnant couples. A one-session spouse-support enhancement childbirth education is recommended as an effective nursing intervention to promote couple's childbirth self-efficacy and it is also recommended that modifications of program to promote women's childbirth experience should be considered.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to identify pediatric nurses's knowledge related to children's pain and pediatric nurses' career including educational experience and to examine whether there is a difference of their knowledge according to their career. Method : Subjects of this study was 115 pediatric nurses of one university hospital who understood purpose of this study and accepted to participate in this study. Subjects responded questionnaire by self report. The data were gathered for 7 days during the period from October 20 to October '2:7, 2003. The pediatric nurses' knowledge and attitude survey regarding pain developed by Manworren(2001) was used to identify the knowledge related to children's pain of pediatric nurses. Nurses' career consisted of level of education, presently working ward, duration of experience at clinic, pediatric clinic and presently working ward and educational experience related to children's pain during undergraduate courses, ward orientation and continuing education. Educational experience regarding children's pain was measured by whether they had education related to children's pain during undergraduate courses, ward orientation and continuing education or not and their perception on the contents of education was measured by 5 point Likert type scale. SPSS Windows was used to analyze the data. Scores of the knowledge regarding children's pain and career including educational experience of pediatric nurses were presented as mean and standard deviation. Mean percentage of correct answers responded by the subjects was presented under the category of introduction, assessment, pharmacological and nonpharmacological intervention for children's pain. The difference of scores of the knowledge regarding children's pain according to nurses' career was analyzed using t-test, ANOVA and Tukey as a post hoc. Statistical significance was accepted at the level of p<.05. Result : Pediatric nurses had deficient knowledge related to children's pain on the whole and did not trust pain complaint and underestimated the pain. They were short of concrete practical knowledge about pain assessment and pharmacological and nonpharmacological intervention for children's pain. They were excessively concerned with side effect and addiction of analgesic drugs and had a negative view point on nonpharmacological pain intervention. About 50% of the subjects received education regarding children's pain while their undergraduate courses. The number of nurses who received education regarding children's pain while their undergraduate courses was found to be greater among the recently graduated nurses. In ward orientation and continuing education, only less than 10% of the nurses received education regarding children's pain. Nurses perceived their experienced educational content deficient; experienced educational content consisted of pain introduction, assessment and pharmacological and nonpharmacological intervention for children's pain while their undergraduate course, ward orientation and continuing education. There were no significant differences of the knowledge regarding children's pain of pediatric nurses according to level of education, duration of experience at clinic, pediatric clinic and presently working ward. Scores of the knowledge regarding children's pain of nurses at neonatal ward were significantly greater than those of nurses at pediatric intensive care unit. Scores of the knowledge regarding children's pain of pediatric nurses who received education during their undergraduate course were significantly greater than those who did not receive it during their undergraduate courses. Also scores of the knowledge regarding children's pain of pediatric nurses who received one kind of educational experience were significantly greater than those who had no educational experience. Conclusion : Pediatric nurses had deficient knowledge of children's pain and underestimated the pain of children. Also they were short of concrete practical knowledge on pain assessment and intervention for children's pain.

The purpose of this study is to identify elementary school teachers' perceptions, practices, and background factors related to introducing students' everyday experience in science teaching process. The participants of this study were four elementary school teachers who have different features such as major, teaching period, gender, growth area, and age. The data was collected through semi-constructed and in-depth interviews. The results of the research are as follows: Teachers mostly used students' everyday experience during the introduction phase of science lessons for the purpose of motivation. They hold a positive view of using students' everyday experience during science lessons and thought that science teaching needs to actively use more of students' everyday experience, while in actual practice they disregarded or only passively introduced students' everyday experience. The various background factors found to affect teachers' practice are as follows: positive memory on their science class; educational experience of their own children; their own childhood environment; their learning style; their insufficient knowledge or enthusiasm; perceived educational value of everyday life in science education; teacher's duties; importance of students' achievement; difficulty in guiding experiment; reaction of students on introducing everyday experience; characteristics of science textbook and teacher's guidebook; lack of lesson time; realization of national common basic education; characteristics of their students; demands from parents or students; effect of introducing everyday experience. In addition, we found that the teachers behave not in accordance with what they thought due to external factors related to their profession and that, for a more active use of students' everyday experience in their teaching, teachers need support from textbooks and teachers' guidebooks.
