This paper presents a novel robust adaptive AC8B exciter system against synchronous generators for ships. A PID (proportional integral derivative) control framework, which is a part of the AC8B exciter system, is simply composed of nominal and auxiliary control configurations. For selecting these proper parameter values, the former is conventionally chosen based on the experience and knowledge of experts, and the latter is optimally estimated via a neural networks optimization procedure. Additionally, we propose an online parameter learning-based auxiliary control to practically cope with deterioration of control performance owing to uncertainty in electric generator systems. Such a control mechanism ensures the robustness and adaptability of an AC8B exciter to enhance control performance in real-time implementation. We carried out simulation experiments to test the reliability of the proposed robust adaptive AC8B exciter system and prove its superiority through a comparative study in which a conventional PID control-based AC8B exciter system is similarly applied to our simulation experiments under the same simulation scenarios.

Objective: The objective was to extract a preliminary performance measurement indicators of nursing organizations in hospitals using the BSC(Balanced Score Card) developed by Kaplan and Norton, and to analyze the content validity and evaluation methods of the performance measurement indicators with actual nurses in the nursing organization as participants in the study. Methods: The preliminary performance measurement indicators was created through a literature review and had the content validity by a professional. This survey was sent via post to 316 nurse managers and nurses with more than 5 years of experience in seven secondary and tertiary hospitals in the Seoul Gyonggi district. The completed questionnaires were returned by mail. Results: Fourteen indicators for finances, 16 for customer services, 27 for internal business processes, and 13 for learning and growth were selected. Conclusion: Amidst a rapidly changing medical environment, a first step was taken towards developing a performance measurement from various perspectives for nursing organizations in hospitals from various perspectives, rather than just one or a past-oriented perspective. However, as the most important thing is to actually use these indicators, continuous interest in publicity and education must be developed.

This study investigates design strategies for improving the educational quality of multimedia contents for early childhood education. It emphasizes both traditional education theory and developmental aspects in its exploration of interactive and educational qualitative multimedia contents for early children. Accordingly, for an effective early childhood education, it is necessary to experience of the playful learning for the conception of ideas and the understanding of the social life. Because this study 1) possibility of multimedia contents for early childhood education, 2) computer application method for early childhood education, 3) examines used in the designing of multimedia contents for early childhood education according to traditional education theory. Multimedia early childhood education system is possible to organize information such as test, image, sound and video based on hyperlink system. I use Microsoft's Ms-office and Asymetrix's ToolBook software that are useful for hyperlink and parameter. Multimedia contents and other pages are used by Dynamic Data Exchange(DDE). Therefore multimedia contents for early childhood education is a useful tool for students of early childhood education department, parents, and children.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the experiences of masturbation among high school students. Method : The subjects were 925 high school students in Busan. Masturbation experience, hygienic management and physical, psychological condition after masturbation were measured. The data was collected from December 1998 to February 1999. The collected data was analyzed with frequency, percentage, mean, $x^2$ -test, t-test. Result : 1) There were significant differences in masturbation experiences according to frequency($x^2$=547.94, p=.000), educational participation($x^2$=12.11 p=.001) and hygienic management(t=3.661, p=.001) between boys and girls. 2) Contact of lewd mass media stimulated students to do masturbation and they used various methods such as stimulating genital area by using hand or tools, fantasizing about sex 3) Subjects reported that they experienced fatigue, sleeping disturbance, decreasing concentration and learning desire after masturbation. Conclusion : This study suggests that replicate studies are needed. The results are also useful in developing various sex education program.

Despite the continuous efforts of academic libraries to develop various user-centered outreach programs, services and new processes, library anxiety still remains a threat to university students' full use of academic library resources. Meanwhile, a new generation of students, called the "Net Generation," has grown up with developed information and communication technology enter university and must be persuaded to turn to the library. To serve this new group of patrons better, libraries need to adopt new technologies. However, since an initial introduction cost and labor efforts are involved in the integration of the technology, identifying the right time for introduction and the right scope of innovation is essential but difficult. The study proposes a not-yet-well-known, novel experimental design, Regression Point Displacement (RPD), to evaluate an orientation program applying Mobile Augmented Reality (MAR) for STEM students. Since this RPD design requires only one treatment group, the model is expected to be the incomparable and rational way to evaluate the new MAR technology. In the context of an informal learning experience, the findings of the study will determine the effectiveness of an orientation employing the MAR technology.

Owing to the rapid development of information science, data analysis based on machine learning has become an interdisciplinary and strategic area. Marine predators algorithm (MPA) is a novel metaheuristic algorithm inspired by the foraging strategies of marine organisms. Considering the randomness of these strategies, an improved algorithm called co-evolutionary cultural mechanism-based marine predators algorithm (CECMPA) is proposed. Through this mechanism, search agents in different spaces can share knowledge and experience to improve the performance of the native algorithm. More specifically, CECMPA has a higher probability of avoiding local optimum and can search the global optimum quickly. In this paper, it is the first to use CECMPA to perform feature subset selection and optimize hyperparameters in support vector machine (SVM) simultaneously. For performance evaluation the proposed method, it is tested on twelve datasets from the university of California Irvine (UCI) repository. Moreover, the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) can be a real-world application and is spreading in many countries. CECMPA is also applied to a COVID-19 dataset. The experimental results and statistical analysis demonstrate that CECMPA is superior to other compared methods in the literature in terms of several evaluation metrics. The proposed method has strong competitive abilities and promising prospects.

A growing gap between market needs and the capabilities of the enterprise prompts repositioning (Corstjens and Dolye 1989). This article examines the strategic repositioning of 'Korando Sports' undertaken by SYMC throughout the period from Jan. 2012 to Jun. 2012, to boost sales volume and market share by entering market of active-lifestyle consumers currently occupied by SUVs. SYMC's experience indicates that it is essential to close the gap between the market needs and the ability of the enterprise to make a shift to new consumer segment with a new positioning. The successful repositioning framework(Ryan et al. 2007) were employed in this paper. This framework is comprised of six elements: core strategic values, strategic flexibility/learning capabilities, customer awareness and sensitivity, external orientation, management commitment, and belief in the product and brand. The evaluation based on the successful framework also confirms that 'Korando Sports' case meets all the requirements of the successful strategic repositioning. This paper provides some of the managerial implications with aim of assisting executives in identifying strategic repositioning opportunities. Primarily, the 'Korando Sports' case affirms the repositioning as a viable strategy and indicates that repositioning is a feasible means for strategic change. Second, this case shows the influence of a target consumer and SYMC's repositioning to follow consumer preference for a particular attribute. Moreover, we can understand how a product formerly considered weak in attributes can enjoy benefits in other segments with the same attributes.

Amongst society's transitional presuppositions towards the future, an aging population is the most significant matter. Korea has entered the aging society in 2000 and will face the aged society by 2018, which is the fastest time that takes from the aging society to the aged society in the world. Korea requires immediate attention to devise a countermove. U.S entered aging society in 1942 since then have developed various types of elderly housing. Recently, university-affiliated CCRC became an attractive alternative. Therefore, it is necessary to study a successful case of elderly housing. This study aims to explore the key features of a university-affiliated CCRC as an alternative socially integrated aging friendly community. Oak Hammock at the University of Florida was selected for this research as a successful case. The method of this is field visit case study. The study finds that University-affiliated CCRC has a lot of benefits for both university and CCRC. Oak Hammock members can access university's facilities and university provides a life-long learning experience and other programs. Oak Hammock provides internship, volunteer and parttime job opportunities and offer advice to students as a mentor. This study is expected to provide a implication in developing elderly housing of Korea.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the benefits of library assisted instruction. A survey was conducted along with in-depth interview with students who have experienced library assisted instructions. As a result, 18 different domains of benefits of library assisted instruction have been identified through the students with the experience of the instruction. The benefits include 'increasing efficiency in learning', 'building the habits of reading', etc. The benefits of library assisted instruction are expected to be applied in the strategies to operation of library service.

Chronic disease may leads to other life threatening health complications like heart disease, stroke, diabetes and peripheral vascular disease that diminished quality of life. This paper points out the importance of social interaction and smart space integration in existing CDSS for chronic diseases. Social interaction allows the patients to interact with system, through this continuous learning and digesting patient experience, our CDSS becomes intelligent and dynamically enhanced. Smart spaces automatically provide new knowledge and construct the behavioral profile by monitoring the daily life activities. Through these features, patients can get continuous relevant recommendations from the system, so they can get a chance to improve their health condition which in terms keeping on their quality of life. It also helps the health practitioners in better decision making about medication and living patterns.
