  • Recently, as various IP set-top boxes based on Android OS have been widely used in general households and public facilities, complaints about services and set-top boxes have continued to increase as much as other smart devices. In order to reduce this problem, the manufacturer performs the testing work before the product is commercialized. However, the testing can reduce potential defects in the product, but it can not prove that the product is free of defects. Therefore, the quality of the product can vary depending on how effective testing techniques are introduced. In this paper, we propose a new exploratory testing method that minimizes test case creation time and makes it easier to plan and execute test while simultaneously learning how to run the product under test. Using the first proposed method, the test time is reduced by about 16.7 hours and the defect detection rate is 25.4% higher than the formal specification-based testing method. Informally, the test time was shortened by about 4.7 hours and the defect detection rate was 13% higher than the informal experience-based testing method.

  • Due to COVID-19, the education and training environment in vocational competency development has changed significantly. In vocational education and training, where the proportion of face-to-face training is more extensive than in other areas of education, some training courses had no choice but to be converted to online. This study presents a distance training system plan for non-contact vocational training by analyzing the learner's non-contact learning experiences. Non-face-to-face education experiences were investigated for learners of private vocational training institutions, universities, and public higher vocational training institutions. The main contents of the survey were to analyze the non-face-to-face learning experiences of these learners for the educational environment and educational purposes. Based on the results of the learners' non-face-to-face learning experiences, a draft of a remote training system construction plan for non-face-to-face education was composed, and a Delphi study was conducted on the draft non-face-to-face remote training system. A method for establishing a distance training system including non-face-to-face teaching and learning strategies, learning and operation support was proposed with these results.

  • This study aims to understand the characteristics of Korean language learners and propose appropriate teaching plans for them through a focus group interview with Korean language instructors who had experience in teaching Korean at university-attached institutions in Hong Kong. For this purpose, the investigator interviewed ten instructors who taught Korean for at least five years. Korean language learners in Hong Kong who were in their twenties, but there were diverse age groups, including those in their fifties or older. Their motivations for learning Korean included the Korean Wave and the influence of support from the Continuing Education Fund by the Hong Kong government. Korean language learners in Hong Kong were characterized by active learning desire and effort, continuous learning intention, passive performance in speaking, and sensitivity to the disclosure of private information. Based on these findings, the study proposes to devise teaching and learning methods based on various age groups in a class and teaching methods for speaking that reflect the characteristics of Korean language learners in Hong Kong to teach Korean more effectively. The study is significant as a field study that examines the learning motivations, learning attitudes, and difficulties with Korean study of Korean language learners based on an unprecedented survey of the characteristics of common local Korean learners in Hong Kong.

  • This paper conducts the collection and experiment of datasets for deep learning research on sign language such as sign language recognition, sign language translation, and sign language segmentation for Korean sign language. There exist difficulties for deep learning research of sign language. First, it is difficult to recognize sign languages since they contain multiple modalities including hand movements, hand directions, and facial expressions. Second, it is the absence of training data to conduct deep learning research. Currently, KETI dataset is the only known dataset for Korean sign language for deep learning. Sign language datasets for deep learning research are classified into two categories: Isolated sign language and Continuous sign language. Although several foreign sign language datasets have been collected over time. they are also insufficient for deep learning research of sign language. Therefore, we attempted to collect a large-scale Korean sign language dataset and evaluate it using a baseline model named TSPNet which has the performance of SOTA in the field of sign language translation. The collected dataset consists of a total of 11,402 image and text. Our experimental result with the baseline model using the dataset shows BLEU-4 score 3.63, which would be used as a basic performance of a baseline model for Korean sign language dataset. We hope that our experience of collecting Korean sign language dataset helps facilitate further research directions on Korean sign language.

  • The purpose of this study is to research seasonal constellation experiments and to find out what are effective seasonal constellation experiments according to school salary. we organized seasonal constellation experiments with 24 elementary preparatory teachers and asked them to what effective experiments are for each school class. As a result, constellation learning through direct experience activities through role play is the most effective in elementary school, and in middle and high schools, using the stellarium program to realistically observe and reason about seasonal changes in constellations was selected as an effective experiment. Pre-service teachers recognized that experiments in which direct experience and specific manipulation activities were emphasized in elementary school, and experiments in which observation of realistic natural phenomena and reasoning activities were emphasized were effective in middle and high schools.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine a preservice elementary mathematics teacher's beliefs and stated-actions in which she planned and implemented mathematical activities in a field experience within a mathematics methods course. Results show that the preservice teacher seemed to be dealing with conflicts and trying to resolve them in order to make sense to herself. Results also suggest that the preservice teacher's beliefs about how children learn seem to get confirmed through the field experiences so that she was able to articulate, which influence her experience of focusing on an individual child. This, in turn, induces her to elaborate her beliefs. These processes would explain her beliefs and actions as a sensible system.
