  • In this paper, we describe an actor-critic method as a kind of temporal difference (TD) algorithms. The value function is regarded as a current estimator, in which two value functions have different inputs: one is an actual experience; the other is a simulated experience obtained through a predictive model. Thus, the parameter´s updating for the actor and critic parts is based on actual and simulated experiences, where the critic is constructed by a radial-basis function neural network (RBFNN) and the actor is composed of a kinematic-based controller. As an example application of the present method, a tracking control problem for the position coordinates and azimuth of a nonholonomic mobile robot is considered. The effectiveness is illustrated by a simulation.

  • In general, machining time by electrical discharge machining (EDM) process is much longer than that of cutting process, so rough-cut has done for the purpose of reducing machining time prior to EDM Nowadays EDM speed is improving due to the advance of EDM capacity. Therefore a new method, machining a raw material directly by EDM without rough-cut, is used widely. EDM area is varies according to the EDM position in three-dimensional EDM process, so EDM parameters should be determined adaptively based on the EDM area to increase productivity. However it is difficult to calculate EDM area corresponding to the EDM position the EDM workers who have experience in shop floor determine machining parameters by experience. This paper proposes a method for determining EDM parameters based on EDM area corresponding to EDM position.

  • Simulated driving behavior is an important aspect of realistic simulation systems. To simulate natural driving behavior, this paper proposes an imitation learning method based on active learning that combines demonstration and experience. Driving demonstrations are collected from human drivers in a driving simulator. A driving behavior policy is learned from these demonstrations. The driving demonstration dataset is augmented with new demonstrations that the original demonstrations did not contain, in the form of behaviors from another driving behavior policy learned from experience. The final driving behavior policy is learned from an augmented demonstration dataset.

  • The healing tourism has been growing rapidly in Korea. This study examines the restoration experience of rural healing tourism by qualitative method. The restoration environment is based on nature, and rural areas are the representative places for nature-based tourism. Therefore, this study aims to explore the meaning of restoration experiences of rural healing tourism. An in-depth interview process was used as the primary qualitative research method for this study. Nine interviews were given and from a thematic analysis of the data, six themes of restoration environments were emerged. The restoration environment of the rural settings are as follows; being away, fascination, extent, compatibility, healing nature, and leisure activity. Attention restoration theory provides a model that helps explain the results of this study. The results of this study can be useful for establishing effective marketing strategies through understanding the restoration environment in rural healing tourism.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out what kind of experience and effect the learner - centered team - based learning (tbl)method has on pre - nursing learner's nursing English course. Participants were 12 preliminary nursing learner, it was analyzed through learning result recording, study observation, learning satisfaction, learner's report, peer evaluation. And described the meaning of the learning experience, individual and team scores were analyzed using frequency analysis, paired-t test. The results showed that the score of each team was higher than the score of individual in both. The tbl experience has been a form of intimacy with colleagues, a motivation for learning, self-study, easy to learn the medical terminology felt through repeated learning, to improve their score by having them secondary group test and they remembered it as a pleasant learning time.

  • An educator may utilize various pedagogies such as hands-on practice, practicum, and project-based learning to enhance a student's competency. Among various pedagogies, project-based learning is one of the well-known pedagogies that may provide similar on-the-job experience. In general, an educator may divide the students into small groups and assign tasks to check students' cooperation skills and achievements during project-based learning. However, an educator may experience difficulties operating project-based learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Most of the team activities are done in non-face-to-face meetings, and as a consequence, the educator may not find an underachieving team easily and cannot intervene appropriately. This study introduces a rigorous analysis method to evaluate team activities to analyze individual students' participation and contributions. First, this study develops evaluation rubrics by conducting questionnaires to professors and students to find an appropriate weight value for the evaluation scale. Then, this research introduces an analysis environment to evaluate students automatically. The analysis environment collects dialog data from social network services and measures interactions among students in a team. After measuring interactions, the environment generates a report to visualize the team activities. We applied the proposed method and environment to the capstone design course to show the effectiveness of the method and environment. Based on the case study, the environment showed that the analysis method could easily indicate the teams' activities and check the level of participation.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop an evaluation method for online design education. Online education has established itself as the primary form in the educational field, however, there are unsatisfactory response from instructors and students due to rapid conversion of online education. Due to the transition of educational method, online class contents have become optimized and online educational experiences became accumulated. However, clear education criteria is essential. This study states importance of two parts: establishing an evaluation system based on design thinking for online design education and finding appropriate online platforms for interaction between instructors and students. The research results provide implications for ensuring the efficiency of design education and are expected to contribute significantly to the future education field.

  • In this paper, we present a method to customize the ground color in outdoor sports video to provide TV viewers with a better viewing experience or subjective satisfaction. This issue, related to content personalization, is becoming critical with the advent of mobile TV and interactive TV. In outdoor sports video, such as soccer video, it is sometimes observed that the ground color is not satisfactory to viewers. In this work, the proposed algorithm is focused on customizing the ground color to deliver a better viewing experience for viewers. The algorithm comprises three modules: ground detection, shot classification, and ground color customization. We customize the ground color by considering the difference between ground colors from both input video and the target ground patch. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme offers useful tools to provide a more comfortable viewing experience and that it is amenable to real-time performance, even in a software-based implementation.

  • Experience API provides a learner-centered model for learning data collection and learning process recording. In particular, it can record learning data from multiple data sources. Therefore, Experience API provides very good support for ubiquitous learning. In this paper, we put forward the architecture of ubiquitous learning system and the method of reading the learning record from the ubiquitous learning system. We analyze students' learning behavior from two aspects: horizontal and vertical, and give the analysis results. The system can provide personalized suggestions for learners according to the results of learning analysis. According to the feedback from learners, we can see that this u-learning system can greatly improve learning interest and quality of learners.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the perception of nursing students' on-site clinical experience at intensive care unit(ICU), which will help on developing fundamental tool to enhance the effect of their clinical practice. Method: Van Manens hermeneutic-phenomenological method has been used to analyze the data. Participants consisted of 74 third-year nursing students who performed the clinical practice at an ICU in C university hospital. The students got the group interviews and kept the clinical diaries. Data was collected from series of group interviews and contents of the students clinical diaries. Result: Major concerns related to students clinical practice were found as follows : "being nervous about unfamiliar machines and situations", "being frustrated about the patients", "feeling of helplessness", "being stupefied from witnessing a death", "realizing the importance of health", "realizing individual patient's precious value through family's love", "realizing the importance of treating a patient as humanbein g", "realizing the differences between theory and practice", "modelizing two aspects of nursing: professional and personal", "readiness to become a capable nurse". Conclusion: We are able to obtain in-depth understandings about the nursing students lived experience of clinical practice at the ICU. Based upon this, there is a need to develop a better nursing intervention enhance the effectiveness of the nursing students clinical practice.
