SAGE 알고리즘을 이용한 MIMO 채널 파라미터 추정과 분석 (Estimation and Analysis of MIMO Channel Parameters using the SAGE Algorithm)

  • 본 논문은 다중 경로 다중입력 (Multiple-input multiple-output : MIMO) 채널에서 space alternating generalized expectation-maximization(SAGE) 알고리즘을 이용하여 채널 파라미터 추정 성능을 확인한다. 성능을 비교하기 위해 781 대역의 제주도 측정지역에서의 채널 파라미터로부터 시변 채널 환경 채널 파라미터 추정을 SAGE 알고리즘을 통해 추정하고 원본 데이터와 비교한다. 이를 통해 SAGE 알고리즘의 성능을 확인할 수 있으며 일반적인 파라미터 계산보다 SAGE 알고리즘을 통해 추정하는 것이 지연 확산(Delay Spread), 도래각 확산(Arrive of Angular Spread)이 적어 정확 측면에서 성능이 뛰어나고 안정적이다.

이자율 스프레드의 경기 예측력: 문헌 서베이 및 한국의 사례 분석 (Predicting Economic Activity via the Yield Spread: Literature Survey and Empirical Evidence in Korea)

  • 본 연구는 이자율 스프레드 혹은 이자율 스프레드의 각 구성요소인 기대 스프레드와 기간 프리미엄의 경기 예측력에 관한 1990년대 이후 선행연구를 서베이하고, 한국의 국고채 현물이자율 데이터를 이용하여 이자율 스프레드 및 각 구성요소의 산업생산 증가율, 소비자물가 상승률, 생산갭 등에 대한 예측력에 관한 실증분석을 수행하였다. 먼저 주로 미국 경제를 대상으로 한 선행 연구들을 서베이한 결과 이자율 스프레드는 주요 경제변수들에 대하여 유의한 예측력을 갖고 있으나 1980년대 중반 이후 인플레이션 타깃팅 강화 경향 등에 따라 이자율 스프레드의 경기 예측력이 저하되고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 다음으로 한국 데이터를 대상으로 산업생산 증가율, 소비자물가 상승률, 생산갭 등에 대한 이자율 스프레드 및 각 구성요소의 예측력을 분석한 결과, 특히 이자율 스프레드의 구성요소 중 기간 프리미엄이 유의한 예측력을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 이자율 스프레드를 이용하여 표본외 분석을 수행한 결과, 예측방정식이 구조적으로 불안정한 것으로 나타났으며, 특히 산업생산지수 예측에 있어서 이자율 스프레드의 분해가 유의한 기여를 하는 것으로 나타났다.

중학교 3학년 수학교과서 통계단원에 나타난 요약개념 분석 (A summary-concept based analysis on the representative values and the measures of spread with the 9th grade Korean mathematics textbook)

  • This study is an analysis on the focus of textbooks regarding the statistical chapters of "measures of representative(central tendency) and of the spread". Applying the summary-concept criteria of Juhyeon Nam(2007), 4 kinds of aspect of the chapter; (1) definition and its teleological validity of the measures of representative, (2) definition and practical value of the measures of spread (3) distributional form on the measures of representative and of spread (4) location and scale preservation or invariance of the measures of representative and of spread were observed. On the measures of representative, some definitions were insufficient to check the teleological validity of the measure. Most definitions of the measure of spread were based on the practical view points but no preparation for the future statistical inferences were found even by implication. Some books mention about the measures of representative and of spread for distributions, but we could not find any comments on the correspondence between the sample mean and the expectation of a distribution or population mean. However it is stimulant that some books check the validity of corresponding measures with the location and scale preservation or invariant property, that were not found in the previous curriculum.

Spread of Bamboo stands in the Kinki Region

  • The Bamboo stands, which had been planted for agricultural uses, have been spreading from fields to hills and mountains beyond farmers’ expectation over the last 50 years. Bamboo stands yield bamboo shoots to be served as a vegetable dish (‘takenoko in Japanese’) every spring, and supply materials for bamboo crafts in various ways. Now, as bamboo products have lost their social demand, bamboo stands has been gradually abandoned. This has resulted in the wild and unfavorable spread of bamboo stands in many regions over the western half of Japan. This paper illustrates the unfavorable spread of bamboo stands regionally in the southern Kyoto from 1985 to 1999 and the Yamashiro area from 1948 to 2000 through the observation of satellite images and aerial photographs.

Super-spatial resolution method combined with the maximum-likelihood expectation maximization (MLEM) algorithm for alpha imaging detector

  • Recently, the demand for alpha imaging detectors for quantifying the distributions of alpha particles has increased in various fields. This study aims to reconstruct a high-resolution image from an alpha imaging detector by applying a super-spatial resolution method combined with the maximum-likelihood expectation maximization (MLEM) algorithm. To perform the super-spatial resolution method, several images are acquired while slightly moving the detector to predefined positions. Then, a forward model for imaging is established by the system matrix containing the mechanical shifts, subsampling, and measured point-spread function of the imaging system. Using the measured images and system matrix, the MLEM algorithm is implemented, which converges towards a high-resolution image. We evaluated the performance of the proposed method through the Monte Carlo simulations and phantom experiments. The results showed that the super-spatial resolution method was successfully applied to the alpha imaging detector. The spatial resolution of the resultant image was improved by approximately 12% using four images. Overall, the study's outcomes demonstrate the feasibility of the super-spatial resolution method for the alpha imaging detector. Possible applications of the proposed method include high-resolution imaging for alpha particles of in vitro sliced tissue and pre-clinical biologic assessments for targeted alpha therapy.

A Study on the Progress of e-Trade and the Factor of the Adoption of bolero.net in Japan

  • In recent years, although far behind, the "e-Trade (B to G)" is propelled vigorously in Japan. But the diffusion of the "e-Trade" among companies (B to B) represented by bolero.net does not meet expectation. This paper carried out the questionnaire survey to the enterprises, which adopt bolero.net and examined why the diffusion is stagnated to the measures for its future spread. As a result, the top 3 adoption factors are: (1) Transaction climate, (2) Top management support, and (3) Operational improvement. In other words, it depends that top management has the will, which adopts e-trade positively among the reliable business partners and the operational performances can improve efficiently by carrying e-trade. We would like to clarify what will be crucial to spur the diffusion in the future. Based on the findings from the result, the concrete key points to promote the spread are to be indicated as follows: (1) Improve the scores of "Cost" and "Competitive pressure" (2) Improve the institutional factor.

Impact of Tweets on Box Office Revenue: Focusing on When Tweets are Written

  • This study investigates the impact of tweets on box office revenue. Specifically, the study focuses on the times when tweets were written by examining the impact of pre- and post-consumption tweets on box office revenue; an examination that is based on Expectation Confirmation Theory. The study also investigates the impact of intention tweets versus subjective tweets and the impact of negative tweets on box office revenue. Targeting 120 movies released in the US between February and August 2012, this study collected tweet information on a daily basis from two weeks before the opening until the closing and box office revenue information. The results indicate that the disconfirmation that occurs in relation to the total number of pre-consumption tweets for a movie has a negative impact on box office revenue. This premise suggests that the formation of higher expectations of a movie does not always result in positive results in situations where tweets on perceived movie quality after watching spread rapidly. This study also reveals that intention tweets have stronger effects on box office revenue than subjective tweets.

기대일치와 인지된 혜택이 대학의 온라인 수업의 만족도와 지속적 사용 의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Confirmation and Perceived Benefits on Satisfaction and Continuous Usage Intention for University Online Class Systems)

  • Purpose Many students have concerned about the quality and operation of online courses with universities offering online courses to avoid the spread of COVID-19. To deepen our understanding of university online class systems, this research aims to assess students' satisfaction with online class systems and continuous usage intention on the basis of the perceived benefits and expectation confirmation theory. Design/methodology/approach This paper empirically analyzes the impact of each perceived benefit on user satisfaction and the intention to use it continuously by dividing the perceived benefits considered in existing literature into utilitarian benefits (convenience), emotional benefits (pleasure), and symbolic benefits (personal benefits). Moreover, the perceived expectations and performance have also been assessed with its impact on satisfaction and the intention to continue use. Data collected from 241 university students were empirically tested against a research model. Findings Analysis results showed that perceived advantages (comfort, enjoyment and personalized benefit) significantly affect user satisfaction and that perceived benefits have positive effects on the intention to continue use whereas the expected confirmation do not significantly influence on the intention to continue use.

Sharing Economy: A Study On The Factors Affecting The Participation Of Users In The Sharing Platforms

  • Recently there has been an increase in interest and competition in sharing economy platforms. The success stories of many companies have spread in this field, such as Uber, but on the other hand, there are many other companies that have failed. We studied and analyzed the factors that affect the user's participation in the sharing economy platforms as an essential part of this system, and how to maintain the consumer's intention of use without compromising consumer satisfaction, as it has become an issue of great importance on the path to the success of the sharing platforms. Relying on the expanded valence framework and expectation confirmation theory as a basis, we constructed hypotheses that influence intention to participate in participatory platforms. Results show that system quality, trust, perceived benefits, and satisfaction are important factors that positively influence intention to continue to participate. This research is expected to help researchers move forward with research related to the future and help business managers understand user insights and integrate them with their business model to help the success, development and expansion of their business in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
