Aluminium foams, having a closed cell structure, fabricated by applying the powder compact method and an induction heating were studied. The powdered A6061 mixed with the powdered titanium hydride as a foaming agent was hot pressed into a foamable precursor. The resulting precursor was foamed by induction heating up to desired temperature. The effects of the titanium hydride content ($0.3{\~}1.5 wt.\%$), pressing pressure of the foamable precursor material (50-150kN), the forming temperature ($610{\~}690^{\circ}C$) and heating rate during foaming on the expansion behavior of the foam were investigated.

Quartz glass panel was prepared by a colloidal silica through the heat-treatment only without any additives in wet-chemical method. This colloidal silica used in slurry process has the uniform distribution of particle size and lower cost. The results show that 6N as a degree of purity and the 86 percentage of violet transmittance in 1mm thickness. AFM(Atomic Force Microscopy) pattern shows that the surface roughness are less than lnm. Also, we investigated the characteristic of quartz panel according to the concentration and distribution of hydroxyl group, viscosity and thermal expansion coefficient.

This paper describes a 3-Phase Quasi-Resonant DC Link Inverter (3-phase QRI), which has two operating modes, ie. inverting mode and rectifying mode. First the 3-Phase QRI is simplified and the resonant circuit is analyzed in comparison with two resonant DC-to-DC converters. This analysis shows that the maximum voltage of resonant capacitor is limited to twice the input voltage irrespective of operating modes. A new simple control method in rectifying mode is suggested, which does not require any other element in power circuit. The characteristic of 3-Phase Quasi Resonant Inverter has been verified by simulation using the proposed control method.

The logic function synthesis using ULM U$_h$ is constructed based on canonic Reed-Muller expansion coefficient for a given function. This paper proposes the fast synthesis algorithm using ULM U$_h$ for ternary function. By using circuit cost and synthesis method of proposed in this paper, order of control input variable minimum number of ULM U$_h$ can be decided in the synthesis of n-variable ternary function. Accordingly, this method enables to optimum circuit realization for ternary function synthesis using ULM ULM U$_h$ and can be applied to ternary function synthesis using ULM U$_h$. The complexity of search for select the order of all control input variables is (n+2)(n-1)/2.

This paper presents the design method of a temperature stable stepped-impedance resonator using composite material. In this method temperature coefficient of dielectric constant $(\tau\varepsilon)$ and thermal expansion coefficient $(\alpha1)$ of dielectric material were considered. Ba(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3 and CaZrO3 as composite material having opposite signs of temperature coefficient of dielectric constant were selected. The length of this resonator for the temperature stability of resonance frequency was calculated at 900MHz, 1.4㎓ and 1.9㎓. It was found that the ratio of the length of positive $\tau\varepsilon$ materal to the length of negative $\tau\varepsilon$ material is constant at various resonance frequencies.

This paper presents two flexible alternatives to the decoupled load flow(DCL) method. The proposed load flow methods can improve the convergence profiles of the DCL by reflecting in part the effects of the off-diagonal terms in the Jacobian at minimal costs. They can improve the convergence characteristics especially when the power system operating states deviate from the conditions required for stable convergence of the DCL and the P-Q coupling becomes significant. Two algorithms are obtained from the expression of the full Newton-Raphson load flow (NRL) method by successively diminishing the effects of the off-diagonal submatrices in the Jacobian. In the process of simplification, the Neuman series expansion is utilized. Test results show promising performances of the proposed algorithms in their convergence characteristics both in number of iterations and overall convergence speeds. Proposed algorithms are expected to provide flexible alternatives to the NRL when the DCL experiences convergence problems.

Shrink fitting is often used to constrain a conventional mechanical fasteners and fastening methods with temperature difference. Localized heating of the mating surface provides temporary expansion and allows slip fit assembly. The resulting interference fit exhibits exceptional strength without surface deformation at ambient temperatures. We studied an analysing method to find out a deformation of motor axis as variation of constrained method with shrink fitting.

The steam generator tubes of the nuclear power plant should be inspected using eddy current techniques. Recently the crack-like defects become a major concern for the integrity of the steam generator tubes. These defects could be detected by the MRPC(Motorized Rotating Pancake Coil) method, not by the conventional bobbin coil method. In this paper it has been attempted to estimate the length of the cracks at the tube expansion region using of MRPC technique. The lengths of both axial and circumferential cracks show a tendency of overestimation compared to the real lengths. As the depths of the defects decrease from 100% through 50% of the wall thickness, the error of the length estimation is increased.

This study was conducted to confirm the effect of drying method on quality of popped rice for making salyeotgangjung(popped rice lump with malt syrup) in process of drying gelatinized rice. The drying were performed at dry oven or convection oven, at $30^{\circ}C,\;50^{\circ}C\;and\;105^{\circ}C$, respectively. There were not significant differences in the hardness of popped rice among the drying methods. The dry at $30^{\circ}C$ constant in dry oven showed higher popping rate, good external surface, uniformed and well developed internal cell size. The dry at $30^{\circ}C$ in convection oven and $50^{\circ}C$ constant temperature in dry oven showed low expansion and poor external surface, respectively. In conclusion, the drying at $30^{\circ}C$ in non-convection oven had the highest quality of popped rice for salyeotgangjung.

This study examined the crisis experiencing by middle - aged women and tried to understand their lived experiences also explored the nature of their crisis. Method: The data was collected from 7 participants living in Incheon and Seoul from Sep. 2000 to Feb. 2001. The analysis of the data was made the phenomenological analytic method suggested by Giorgi. Result: The meanings of the lived experiences of the middle - aged women's crisis ; Impatience about decreased physical function : an attack of a disease, decreased strength, decreased quickness, decreased desire, increased concern of health, poor memory, easy fatigue, change of appearance, change of conjugal relations, sense of loss. Psychological, emotional disturbances : sense of emptiness, regret, sharpness, feeling gloomy, fear of dying, loneliness, feeling the want, loss of confidence. Attitude of active life : reinforcement of self experience, enrichment of understanding, search of self satisfaction, search of self development, development of support system, management of independent life. Envy feeling from relative comparison : feeling of comfort, unsatisfaction to the husband, yearning for youth. Conclusion: Therefore, the program should be developed for the program of physical, psychological, and emotional health and expansion of social role of the middle - aged women.
