Features of Attention Shown at Continuous Observation of Department-Store Space (백화점 공간의 연속 주시에 나타난 주의집중 특성)

  • This research, which has been planned to appreciate the features of continuous observation of space, has applied the procedure of acquiring continuous visual information when the act of watching takes place along the time to analyze the space characteristics through the scenes and time so that the features of attention shown in the process of acquiring visual information at the time of observing continuous scenes might be estimated. For analysis of the features of continuous observation was set up the premise that the features of observation and perception vary depending on gender, when the women shops in department stores were selected as research objects. The observation features found at the time of continuous observation of selling spaces in department stores were focused on two analysis methods in order to compare the differences and characteristics of the two. The followings are the findings. First, the area with predominant observation was found to be 87.1% in both methods. It was found that the analysis of observation features by "Analysis I" was useful for inter-sectional comparison of continuous images. Second, in case of extracting predominant sections, the ceiling or the structures which are the backgrounds rarely attracted any eyes. Depending on analysis method, there was the gap of 14.3%~25.0% between observed sections. Third, in case that the hall is curved, the eyes were found to be expanded from side to side and up and down. The review of observation numbers of predominant sections makes it possible to decide whether it should be regarded as (1) unstability or (2) expanding search, and when the images are enlarged from distant view to close-range view, the weakening vanishing point results in the increase of expanded search of surroundings. Accordingly, it was found that the characteristics of images has effects on the observation features when any space was continuously observed. Furthermore, the difference of analysis methods also was found to be likely to cause big differences in the results of analyzing observation features.

Design and Evaluation of a Gateway to Faculty Syllabi in Computer Science (인터넷 대학강의안 전산학분야 메타데이터 시스템 구축 및 평가)

  • The purpose of this study was to design and evaluate a metadata system for internet-based syllabi in computer science. The study constructed two prototype systems for the experiment. One was constructed using only Dubline Core (DC) elements and the other was a DC-expanded system with additional eight elements that are not the part of DC elements. The thlrty subjects were chosen from those who majored in Computer Science. Two retrieval tasks were assigned to them. One was to find syllabi in which they are' interested and the other was to find relevant course syllabi for a given course title. After the search, they were asked to evaluate the systems in terms of efficiency, accuracy, and their satisfaction of the system. The result of the first experiment indicates that DC-based system performed significantly better in terms of search time and DC-expanded system in terms of satisfaction measure. An additional experiment was conducted to test efficiency of the browsing categories. The interview with subjects was carried out to find any difficulties associated with the current browsing scheme. The subjects expressed much1 satisfaction about assigning a course to multiple browsing categories.

  • This study is about developing an app that offers tourist information and it was made to search festivals, camping, and glamping regions near the area. Also, by providing cooking recipe, it was made to provide convenience at the tour site. While searching recommended regions, it offers help in searching accommodations and checking in and checking out process. If the service is expanded nation-wide from the Gyeonggido area that this study was applied to, it will be more convenient for users and if the service is expanded and coupled with local coupons, quality services will be provided.

  • Information literacy(IL) is the essential skill in the knowledge information society in the 21st century. Spreading the awareness of importance of IL across the world, the efforts to develop and implement IL standards or instructions are expanded around United States, United Kingdom, and Australia. In this study, Author extracts the core elements of IL from domestic and foreign IL standards and integrates those with Kuhlthau's Information Search Process(ISP) Model in order to develop the curriculum model of IL for undergraduates. The curriculum model has been constructed by consideration of capability of application to practice and expressed as the syllabus for the structure of university education. In the curriculum model, major instructional contents are extracted from 6 core elements of IL and the contents are organized by 6 ISP stages. Author suggests some successive studies based on the curriculum model for expansion and advancement of IL instruction.

The Effect of Motivational Factors and Information Search Types on Waxing Care Intention (미용 왁싱에 대한 동기요인과 정보탐색유형이 왁싱관리의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine how the motivational factors for beauty waxing affect the waxing care intention through information search types. To this end, a research model was established and 160 response data obtained by conducting a questionnaire survey on adult men and women in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province were used for structural model analysis. As a result, it was found that the motivational factors (i.e., interest, importance, and other's eye) for beauty waxing influenced the waxing management intention through the information search type (i.e., exploration and observation). This study has expanded the academic field of beauty by exploring the predecessors of waxing care intention and its process, and it has implications that it can practically improve understanding of potential users of beauty waxing. It is thought to be able to contribute to the activation of the waxing market.

  • With the development of multimedia and network technology, the production of multimedia contents is rapidly increasing. Meanwhile, the technology to search and use the contents is still insufficient. There are standards for multimedia contents to address the problem, but they cannot fully support diverse multimedia data types or ensure their interoperability. In this paper, an ontology-based content search system is proposed to ensure the interoperability of multimedia contents. The ontology is configured by presenting the rules for it using the schema structure of the multimedia description scheme (MDS) of MPEG-7. Based on this ontology, the association of the multimedia data is expanded to design an access system that allows semantic search.

Query Expansion and Term Weighting Method for Document Filtering (문서필터링을 위한 질의어 확장과 가중치 부여 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a query expansion and weighting method for document filtering to increase precision of the result of Web search engines. Query expansion for document filtering uses ConceptNet, encyclopedia and documents of 10% high similarity. Term weighting method is used for calculation of query-documents similarity. In the first step, we expand an initial query into the first expanded query using ConceptNet and encyclopedia. And then we weight the first expanded query and calculate the first expanded query-documents similarity. Next, we create the second expanded query using documents of top 10% high similarity and calculate the second expanded query- documents similarity. We combine two similarities from the first and the second step. And then we re-rank the documents according to the combined similarities and filter off non-relevant documents with the lower similarity than the threshold. Our experiments showed that our document filtering method results in a notable improvement in the retrieval effectiveness when measured using both precision-recall and F-Measure.

  • Today's computing system has expanded its application to business trade and distributed work transactions using the Internet. As the demand for more flexible, adaptable, extensible, and robust web-based enterprise, these application development has been gradually expanded based on reusable, independent, and portable components. Component Based Development (CBD) works by developing and evolving software from selected reusable software components and then assembling them within appropriate software architecture. However, it requires an increase in cost to build new components as well as the necessary effort to develop of the business requirement these components. Standardized component models are required as well from the perspective of systems in order to support rapid and exact component information transmission on the web. In this paper, we describe the e-Business Component Development with agent for rapid application development on the web that correspond to the demands of users in the business domain. We design and implement the specifications of e-business components by combining these demands. In order to improve the agent register and retrieval, we propose the intelligent search and register agents, which can conduct more precise searching and specializing for components. The system enables the locating of user's frequently used components through an agent involving register and retrieval, as well as rapid procedures for registers The e-BCOS (e-Business Component System) is the agent system for the user to register distributed components and to search for components Information. The e-BCOS increases reusability through the e-business component development of distributed components in the business domain. For the share and delivery, specification with XML is acceptable to user's variable order e-BCOS Includes the effective investment, timeliness, reliability, efficiency, and maintenance effort by with agent.

  • Recently, improved capabilities of the mobile device is represented in a demand for same level services with the desktop device services but the service that is developed for desktop device is not compatible with mobile devices. To fulfill these demands, it is needed to provide services with considering features of mobile devices. This means that CP(Contents Provider) must do contents transformation in order to make suitable contents on mobile device. For managing some information that is required to do contents transformation, we need the DDR(Device Description Repository) which can store and search a variety of device information to grasp the constraints on the mobile device as compared with desktop devices. Also, defining standard API is required to offer a service regardless of platforms. Hereupon W3C(World Wide Web Consortium) introduced DDR Simple API. However that specifies the limited functions of DDR, which is inevitable to be added for more precise search services. In this paper, we expanded DDR Simple API and implemented DDR that supports DDL(Device Description Language) conversion and storing and searching device information.

Application of the New Calibration Algorithm of a Straight-Type Five-Hole Pressure Probe (직선형 5공 압력프로브의 새로운 교정 알고리듬 적용)

  • This paper investigated the new calibration algorithm of a straight-type five-hole pressure probe for measuring three-dimensional flow velocity components. This new calibration algorithm was used for velocity data reduction from the calibration map and based on the combination of a look-up, a binary search algorithm and a geometry transformation including the translation and reflection of nodes in a calibration map. The calibration map was expanded up to the application angle, ${\pm}55^{\circ}$ of a probe. This velocity data reduction method showed a perfect performance without any kind of interpolating errors in calculating yaw and pitch angles from the calibration map. Moreover, when it was applied to an actual flow field including a swirling flow, a good result came out on the whole.
