This study is concerned with the emission characteristics of kerosene fan heater, which is burned with kerosene and water droplets simultaneously in the burner, in order to prohibit the emissions of harmful exhaust gas and reduce smell caused by incomplete combustion, and the addition of water droplets to the conventional kerosene fan heater was performed by ultrasonic atomizer. For the investigation of this study, the measurement of exhaust gas components and exhaust gas temperature was carried out by using an automatic combustion gas analyser and $NO_x$ analyser, and the measurement of consumption weight of oil and water was obtained by using electric digital balance. Consequently, according as the water percent weight ratio of about $21{\sim}23%$ was supplied for this study, it was found that the combustion-generated $NO_x$ and CO emissions were reduced very largely, but the emissions of $O_2\;and\;CO_2$ and the temperature of exhaust gas were not changed.
The excavator is used in a variety of construction environments. There are many kinds of risk like falling rocks or harmful dust. The excavator cabin protects the operator not only from these harmful environments but also provides a comfortable working environment. By the way, the excavator cabin consumes a lot of energy for cabin air conditioner. For this reason, the research is required to reduce energy consumption. This study suggests the air conditioning system for excavator using forced exhaust. First, the forced exhaust system simulated by AMESim tool and surveyed the applicability. Using AMESim simulation, it was investigated the effect of cabin inside temperature by intake flow rate and intake air temperature. The experiment executed using the 1.5 ton excavator and field tested according to the intake flow rate. Finally, verified the applicability on the air conditioning system for excavator using forced exhaust.

This paper presents on design factor considered in an altitude test cell facility to determine the best sizing to optimize exhaust diffuser pressure recovery and the exact cooling load required to be supplied under transient operation. Engine simulation was performed to analyse the exhaust gas temperature, exit mass flow rate, specific fuel consumption and exhaust velocity helpful in determining secondary mass air flow and the mixed air temperature entering the ejector. based on this, the amount of cooling load was deduced. It was found that improved pressure recovery reduces operational cost(air supply facility, cooling water).

In this study, effects of reducing white smoke at a heat exchange system for white smoke reduction were studied in the winter season. For this purpose, the heat transfer processes on the exhaust air were investigated by Solidworks. Five wave heat exchangers of air-to-air and air-to-water type were applied for the exhaust air heat recovery. The analytical condition of the exhaust air was fixed and the computational analysis was performed according to the change of SA(supply air) inlet velocities. In order to evaluate the performance of the heat exchange system for white smoke reduction, W(water)/SA recovered capacities and the temperature/absolute humidity reduction rate were calculated. As SA inlet velocity increased, the exit temperature and absolute humidity of the mixing zone were reduced by up to about $40^{\circ}C$ and 0.12kg/kg respectively. Also, W/SA recovered capacities increased linearly up to about 35%.

An experimental study was carried out to understand the characteristics of the long wave infrared signal emitted from the exhaust plume when water is sprayed around it. The micro-jet engine was used to generate the exhaust plume, and eight water spray nozzles were installed around the exhaust nozzle. Two water injection angles were applied, one is sparying parallel to the exhaust plume, and the other is spraying water into the exhaust plume. The measurement results are as follows. When spraying water parallel to the exhaust plume, the long wave infrared signal is decreased with water spray flow rate. When spraying water the exhaust plume, the long wave infrared signal shows a larger value than plume only.
In this study, an experiment was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of a exhaust engine in a basement karaoke fire. Exhaust engine was used as ventilation equipment in the experiment. Experiment was carried out in a basement karaoke for redevelopment. Temperature distribution and smoke concentration were evaluated according to the operation of an exhaust engine. Temperatures were decreased below $50^{\circ}C$ at the corridor due to the operation of the exhaust engine. Visibility was also improved.

The design of the exhaust manifold for the pulse converters of a 4 strokes high power medium-speed diesel engine is presented in terms of fatigue analysis. The said system undergoes thermal expansion due to high temperature of exhaust gas and is exposed to intrinsic vibration of the internal combustion engine. Moreover, the exhaust pulse generates pressure pulsating along the runner inside manifold. Under such circumstances, the design and construction of exhaust manifold must be carried out in a way to prevent early failure due to fracture. To validate the design concept, a test rig was developed to simulate the combination of thermal and vibrational movements, simultaneously. Experimental results showed that a certain sense of reliability can be achieved by considering a field factor obtained from the results of engine bench tests.

Based on experimental analysis, the characteristics of pulsating pressure wave propagation is clarified by testing of 4-stroke gasoline engine. The pulsating pressure wave in exhaust system is generated by pulsating gas flow due to working of exhaust valve. The pulsating pressure wave is closely concerned to the loss of engine power according to back pressure and exhaust noise. It is difficult to exactly calculate pulsating pressure wave propagation in exhaust system because of nonlinear effect. Therefore, in the first step for solving these problems, this paper contains experimental model and analysis method which are applied two-port network analysis. Also, it shows coherence function, frequency response function, back pressure, and gradient of temperature in exhaust system.

The effects of exhaust gas recirculation(EGR) on the characteristics of exhaust emissions and specific fuel consumption have been investigated using an eight-cylinder, four cycle, direct injection diesel engine operating at several loads and speeds. The experiments in this study are conducted on the fixed fuel injection timing of $38^{\circ}$ BTDC regardless of experimental conditions. In conclusion, it is found that $NO_{x}$ emission is markedly reduced with the drop of burnt gas temperature at high speeds and loads especially as the EGR rate increases, while the soot particulate rises with EGR rate and load at a given engine speed, especially high loads. The reduction of exhaust emissions within the Korea heavy duty diesel engine emission standards can be roughly achieved by the optimal EGR rate without degarding the specific fuel consumption, based on the correlations between exhaust emissions.

Suppression of very low-frequency noise from an automobile exhaust system is difficult due mainly to its large wave length. Therefore, the configuration of total exhaust system, i,e., piping and muffler layout, is important at low frequencies. In this paper, an optimal layout technique of exhaust systems has been developed for reducing low-frequency exhaust noise. For this purpose, system insertion loss and virtual attenuation coefficient have been defined by considering the effects of mean flow and temperature gradient in the pipe. The applicability of present method is investigated with an actual automobile exhaust system and an optimized layout of pipes and mufflers is suggested.
