노년기의 구강기능향상체조의 구강건강과 구강건강관련 삶의 질에 대한 효과 (The effect of oral exercise on oral health and oral health related quality of life in the elderly people)

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the effect of oral exercise on oral health and oral health related quality of life in the elderly people. Methods: The subjects were83 elderly people including 42 elderly people of intervention group and 41 elderly people of control group. A dentist and a dental hygienist carried out the direct oral examination. The self-reported questionnaire was completed and the oral examination consisted of decayed tooth, missing tooth, filling tooth, functioning tooth, plaque index, salivary flow rate, and range of motion in mouth opening. OHIP-14 was used to assess the oral health related quality of life. For three months, oral exercise was done twice per week in the experimental group. Results: Before oral exercise, there was no significant difference between the intervention group and control group. After 3 months, there was a significant improvement in plaque reduction and range of motion in mouth opening between two groups (p<0.001, p<0.001). Oral health related quality of life was observed in the intervention group (p<0.001). Conclusions: The oral exercise using toothbrushing remarkably improved the oral health related quality of life in the elderly people.

PNF의 어깨뼈 골반 대칭 상호 패턴이 노인의 호흡기능과 삶의 질에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Scapula and Pelvis Symmetrical Reciprocal Pattern of PNF Concept on Respiratory Function and Quality of Life in the Elderly)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study is to determine the effects of scapula and pelvis symmetrical reciprocal pattern exercise of PNF concept on respiratory function and quality of life in elderly subjects. Methods : Nineteen elderly subjects with healthy were recruited. Subjects performed scapula and pelvis symmetrical reciprocal pattern exercise of PNF concept. Exercise was appied 30 minutes three times per week for four weeks. The respiratory function and quality of life (QOL) test three times (before, two weeks, and four weeks). Respiratory function includes forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volume at one second (FEV1), Peak Expiratory Flow (PEF) and chest cage expansion test (CCET). The QOL test was measured Korean WHOQOL-BRIEF. The analysis method was analyzed through the one-way ANOVA repeated methods, and the statistical significance is α=.05. It was analyzed through the post test Bonferroni test. Results : After the 4 week scapula and pelvis symmetrical reciprocal pattern exercise of PNF concept showed statistically significant differences in the respiratory function (FVC, FEV1, PEF, and CCET), and QOL (p<.05). As a result of the post-hoc test, FVC showed a significant increase in the mid test and post test compared to the pre test (p<.05), FEV1 showed a significant increase in the post test compared to the pre test (p<.05). PEF showed a significant increase in all pre-test, mid-test, and post-test sections (p<.05), CCET showed a significant increase in all pre-test, mid-test, and post-test sections (p<.05). QOL showed a significant increase in all pre-test, mid-test, and post-test sections (p<.05). Conclusion : In this study, the scapula and pelvis symmetrical reciprocal pattern exercise of PNF concept improved respiratory function and QOL. The findings suggest that this intervention could be beneficial in improving respiratory function and QOL in the elderly.

대학 골프선수들의 운동능력믿음, 성취목표성향, 운동몰입 및 인지된 경기력의 관계 (The Relationships between Sports Ability Beliefs, Achievement Goal Orientation, Exercise Flow, and Perceived Performance in College Golf Athletes)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 대학 골프선수들을 대상으로 운동능력믿음, 성취목표성향, 운동몰입 및 인지된 경기력의 이론적 관계를 검증하는데 있다. SPSS 18.0과 AMOS 18.0 통계 프로그램을 활용하여 대학교에 재학 중인 211명의 골프선수들로부터 수집한 자료를 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학 골프선수들이 갖고 있는 운동 능력에 대한 믿음의 하위요인에서 증가된 믿음은 과제성취성향에(C.R.=3.780, p<.001) 영향을 주는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 둘째, 대학 골프선수들의 성취목표성향에서 과제성취성향(C.R.=4.082, p<.001)과 자아성취성향(C.R.=3.819, p<.001)은 골프에 대한 몰입감을 높이는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 대학 골프선수들의 성취목표성향의 하위 요인에서는 과제성취성향(C.R.=3.020, p<.01)만이 인지된 경기력을 향상시키는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 대학 골프선수들의 운동몰입이 높을수록 인지된 경기력의 수준도 좋아지는 것으로 나타났다(C.R.=4.642, p<.001). 다른 하위요인들은 통계적으로 유의한 수준에서 검증되지 못했다. 이러한 연구결과는 선수 자신의 운동능력에 대한 믿음에 따라 경기력이 변화될 수 있음을 알려주는 것으로서, 다양한 스포츠 분야에 적용이 가능할 것으로 보인다.

20대 젊은이들에 있어 1회성 유산소운동 시 염증 표지자와 혈액변인들 간의 상관관계 (An Association of Changed Levels of Inflammatory Markers with Hematological Factors during One-time Aerobic Exercise in Twenty-aged Young Men)

  • 15분간의 1회성 유산소 운동 시 염증성 표지자들의 변화와 여러 생리학적 변수들 간의 상관관계를 밝히기 위해 30명의 젊은 남성을 대상으로 연구를 실시하였다. 운동 후 인터루킨-6(IL-6) 농도, 평균적혈구 혈색소 농도, 심박수, 수축기혈압, 중대뇌동맥 박동지수(PI) 및 저항지수(RI)는 운동 전 보다 증가하였다. 총백혈구수, 혈소판 수, 저밀도콜레스테롤은 운동후 약간 감소되는 경향이 있었다. 운동 전 IL-6농도와 수축기 혈압 간에 양의 상관성이, 운동 후 IL-6농도와 PI 및 RI 사이에 각각 양의 상관관계를 보였다. 운동 후 시기에 고민감도 C-반응단백 농도와 수축기혈압 또는 심박수와 각각 음의 상관성을 보였고, 운동 전 시기에 활성산소 농도와 수축기혈압, 이완기 혈압, 또는 심박수와 각각 양의 상관성을 나타내었다. 운동후 활성산소 농도와 중대뇌동맥의 혈류속도 간에 음의 상관성이 있었다. 운동 전 적혈구 지수(적혈구 수, 평균적혈구 용적, 평균적혈구혈색소, 평균적혈구 혈색소 농도)와 IL-6농도 사이에 반비례적 상관성이 있었다. 운동 후 활성산소 농도와 운동후 총백혈구수, 림프구수, 단구수 간에 음의 상관관계가 있었다. 운동 전, 마그네슘 농도와 IL-6, 고민감도 C-반응단백, 활성 산소 농도 사이에 음의 상관성이 있었다. 그리고 그 외 일부 생화학적 변수 및 전해질 농도와 염증성 표지자들 사이에 양혹은 음의 상관성이 있었다. 이러한 결과들은 짧은 시간 동안의 1회성 경도 유산소 운동역시 염증성 표지자들과 혈액변인 사이에 유의한 상관관계를 미칠 수 있으나 향후 좀 더 많은 연구를 통해 일회성 혹은 규칙적인 운동에 따른 성별 간 혹은 연령대별 생리학적 차이를 함께 규명할 필요 역시 있다.

운동중재가 심혈관질환자의 혈관내피전구세포에 미치는 영향: 체계적 문헌고찰 (Effects of Exercise on Endothelial Progenitor Cells in Cardiovascular Disease Patients: A Systematic Review)

  • 본 연구는 운동중재가 심장질환자의 혈관내피전구세포에 미치는 효과에 대한 선행연구들을 체계적으로 고찰하고, 그 효과에 대한 메타분석을 위해 실시되었다. 국내외 데이터베이스인 Cochrane Library, PubMed, EMBASE, ScienceDirect, CINAHL, Scopus, KoreaMed, KISS, RISS, KMBASE 온라인 검색을 실시하였고, 검색어는 심질환, 관상동맥질환, 심부전, 심혈관질환, 운동, 신체활동, 재활, 혈관내피전구세포를 조합하여 사용하였다. 그 결과, 539편의 논문이 검색되었고, 논문 선정기준에 부합하는 9편의 논문을 최종 분석에 이용하였다. Comprehensive Meta-Analysis version 2.0을 활용하여 효과크기, 출판편중을 분석하였다. 운동군의 혈관내피성장인자(VEGF), 혈관내피세포의 수(CD34+KDR+), 혈관내피세포의 기능(FMD)은 대조군에 비해 각각 2.008 (95% CI 0.204-3.812), 1.399 (95% CI 0.310-2.489), 1.881 (95% CI 0.848-2.914) 효과크기가 나타났다. 따라서 운동 중재가 혈관내피성장인자와 혈과내피전구세포의 수를 증가시키고, 혈관내피세포의 기능을 향상시키는데 효과가 있음을 알 수 있다. 국내 심혈관질환자의 유병률과 사망률이 증가하고 있음을 고려할 때, 심혈관질환자를 대상으로 한 운동중재의 효과를 분석한 본 연구결과는 심혈관질환자의 운동중재를 계획하는데 있어 실질적인 가이드라인을 제시할 수 있을 것이다.

The effect of Schroth's three-dimensional exercises in combination with respiratory muscle exercise on Cobb's angle and pulmonary function in patients with idiopathic scoliosis

  • Objective: The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of Schroth's three-dimensional exercises in combination with respiratory muscle exercise (SERME) on Cobb's angle and functional movement screen (FMS). Design: Randomized controlled trial. Methods: Fifteen subjects with scoliosis were randomly assigned to two groups. Eight subjects were assigned to the experimental group and seven subjects were assigned to the control group. The experimental group underwent SERME using SpiroTiger (Idiag, Switzerland), while the control group performed only the Schroth's three-dimensional exercises (SE). Both groups performed exercises for one hour per day, three times a week for eight weeks. Cobb's angle, pulmonary function (forced vital capacity, forced expiratory volume at one second, and peak expiratory flow) and FMS were measured before and after the experiment. Results: After intervention, the SERME group showed a significant difference in Cobb's angle, FMS scores, and pulmonary function as compared to before intervention (p<0.05). In the SE group, there was a statistically significant difference in Cobb's angle, pulmonary function, and FMS scores compared to before intervention (p<0.05). The SERME group showed a significant difference in Cobb's angle and peak expiratory flow in pulmonary function compared to the SE group (p<0.05). Conclusions: The results suggest that SERME could be a more effective intervention for improvement of the Cobb's angle and pulmonary function for scoliosis patients.

사각근에 대한 수동신장운동이 노력성폐활량에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of passive stretching exercise of the scalene muscles on forced vital capacity)

  • PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of passive stretching exercises of the scalene muscles known as respiratory accessory muscles, on forced vital capacity. METHODS: Ten of the participants were randomly selected as an experiment group to perform passive stretching exercises on the scalene muscles. Ten additional students were selected randomly as a control group. The forced vital capacity was assessed by using a digital spirometer (Pony FX, COSMED Inc, Italy) both before and after the passive stretching exercises were performed. Subsequently, passive stretching exercises of the scalene muscles were performed in the experimental group. There were no interventions to the control group. RESULTS: As for the forced vital capacity (FVC), the experiment group showed significant increase in items of forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volume in 1 second ($FEV_1$), peak expiratory flow (PEF), forced expiratory volume in 1 second/vital capacity ($FEV_1/VC$), and maximal expiratory flow 75%(MEF 75%) after the scalenemuscles passive stretching exercises were performed. The control group, however, showed no change. CONCLUSION: This study demonstrated that passive stretching exercises of the scalene muscles could be helpful for forced vital capacity improvement.

MARS/MASTER Solution to OECD Main Steam Line Break Benchmark Exercise III

  • In an effort to assess the performance of KAERI's coupled 3D kinetics - system T/H code, MARS/MASTER, Exercise III of the OECD main steam line break benchmark is solved. The analysis model of the reference plant, TMI-1 - a 2772 MWth B&W plant, consists of three major components: a core neutronics model involving 241$\times$28 neutronic nodes, a vessel 3D T/H model consisting of 374 hydrodynamic volumes, and a 1D system T/H model containing 157 hydrodynamic volumes. The results show that there is a significant amount of flow mixing occurring in the upper and lower plenum regions and the core power distribution evolves to a highly localized shape due to the presence of a stuck rod, as well as the asymmetric flow distribution. It is judged that MARS/MASTER properly captures these drastic 3-dimensional effects. Comparisons with other results submitted to OECD confirm the accuracy of the MARS/MASTER solution.

비신축성 코르셋의 의복압으로 인한 생리적 반응의 변화 (Changes in Physiological Responses by the Pressure of Non-Elastic Corset)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the physiological effects of non-elastic corset on women's health and pain through measuring the clothing pressure, subjective pressure sensation, blood velocity and metabolism. 5 women in their twenties were picked as our subjects, their average size being 85cm at bust girth, 69 cm at waist girth. With the subjects each wearing a corset, we are testing in artificial environment with a treadmill according to the planned exercise procedures. The average pressure of the corset is 0.938 kPa (maximum 3.006 kPa at 45 degree front bowing), which is 10.2 times higher than the control group, averaging from 9.3 times higher at resting, 11.4 times at walking, 11.1 times at running. The effect of corset pressure on the physiological responses of the body is increased more when exercise than when resting. Clothing pressure increased in the order of the postures: sitting > standing with 45 degree bowing > standing. They experienced a high level of tighten discomfort of 5.6 in the scale of 1.0 to 7.0 due to the high pressure of the corset when resting, after intense exercise the level increased to 6.0, while without corset the level increased 1.7 to 2.2. With corset on, the blood circulation did not increase even though when the body exercised and blood flow became unbalanced making great gaps between both at the right and left finger tips. Perspiration of chest and back decreased 37.3% when wearing corset; 27.5% at resting, 56.7% at walking, 25.8% at running, and 39.0% at recovery. With corset on oxygen consume and metabolism increased 9.0%, 7.9%, respectively, which means the corset makes the body uncomfortable. Lung volume exchange VE decreased almost 4.1~7.3% with corset on and $VCO_2/VO_2$, RER and total volume in lung, VT also decreased too, which means the digestion of stomach and lung function are inhibited due to the high corset pressure.

체간 안정화운동이 정상성인의 균형, 폐활량, 근활성도에 미치는 영향 (A Study on the Effect of Trunk Stabilization Program on Body Balance, Lung Capacity, Muscular Activity of Healthy Adults)

  • Purpose : This study examines the effect of trunk stabilization program on the body balance, lung capacity, and muscular activity of the rectus abdominis and external oblique of healthy adults. Method : A survey was conducted for 20 students of K University located in the city of Y in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province of Korea. The trunk stabilization program consisted of a hollowing exercise, curl-up, bridging exercise, and birddog exercise. This was performed 14 times in total (7 times a week for two weeks). For analysis, good balance was used to measure both static and dynamic balancing ability. A peak flow meter was used to measure the maximum expiratory flow, and MP150 was used to measure muscular activity of the rectus abdominis and external oblique. Result : After the trunk stabilization program, the participants showed a difference in score and time taken to achieve static and dynamic balance, and muscular activity of the rectus abdominis and external oblique at a statistically significant level (p<0.05). However, no significant difference was observed in the left-to-right distance and front-to-back distance in a dynamic balance, and the lung capacity (p>0.05). Conclusion : The results showed that the trunk stabilization program was effective in enhancing both static and dynamic balancing ability and muscular activity. It also increased the lung capacity although the change was not at a statistically significant level.
