중년여성의 건강증진을 위한 단전호흡 운동프로그램의 적용 효과 (The Effect of the DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program Applied to Health Promotion in Women in Midlife)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program for health promotion and to examine the effects of a DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program on the physical and emotional health promotion of women in midlife. The design utilized for this study was quasi-experimental with a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. This study was done between February 1 and July 4, 2000 and the subjects of the study were 40 women in midlife living in Seoul. There were 20 members in experimental group who participated in the DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program and 20 members in the control group who were chosen as matched to members of the experimental group according to age, education and religion. The DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program was carried out for 80 minutes a day, 3 times a week for 12 weeks. The percent of body fat, back strength, flexibility (trunk flexion), balance and vital capacity were measured using the Health Management System developed by the Korea Physical Science Institution. Blood tests were done at D infirmary for total cholesterol, and the atherogenic index was calculated using an established formula. The scores of anxiety and depression were measured by a questionnaire with 10 questions on anxiety and 13 questions on depression. It was developed from the Korean Manual of Symptoms-Checklist-90 revision. The collected data were processed using the SPSS PC program and analyzed using $\chi^2$-test and t-test. The result of this study are as follows : 1. The percent of body fat for the experimental group who participated in the DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program was lower than that of the control group. 2. The degree of back strength, flexibility (trunk flexion) and balance of the experimental group that participated in the DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program was higher than that of the control group. 3. The vital capacity of the experimental group that participated in the DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program was higher than that of the control group. 4. The total cholesterol level and atherogenic index of the experimental group that participated in the DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program were lower than those of the control group. 5. The scores for anxiety and depression in the experimental group that participated in the DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program were lower than those of the control group. In conclusion, DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program promotes the physical and emotional health of women in midlife. The DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program can be utilized as a nursing intervention for the promotion of health in women in midlife.

유방암 수술 후 조기 환자를 위한 타이치(Tai Chi) 운동 프로그램의 적용 효과 (Effects of a TaiChi Program for Early Mastectomy Patients)

  • Purpose: There is a need to apply the Tai Chi program to help early mastectomy patients improve their upper limb functions and for the emotional state as well. Method: Participants were recruited at breast cancer centers of two general hospitals from February 17 to April 25, 2005. Twenty-five subjects in the experimental group and 23 subjects in the control group participated for 12 weeks. The Tai chi program consisted of breast cancer self management education and a Tai Chi exercise program. Range of motion of the shoulder joint was determined by the Uni-level inclinometer, and functional assessment of the shoulder was evaluated with the tool. Data was analyzed by SPSS 11. Results: The experimental group had significantly increased shoulder range of motion, especially in external rotation, upper limb function and emotional state compared with the control group after program for 12 weeks. Conclusion: This program makes it possible to be independent and have a positive everyday life. In addition, it can help keep a healthy lifestyle in mastectomy women.

노인 척추 수술환자의 수술 후 일상생활 활동수행 장애 (A Follow up Study for Elderly's Disabilities in Performing Activities of Daily Life (ADL) after Lumbar Spinal Surgery)

  • Purpose: This follow up study was performed to survey the problem in performing ADLs at home after surgery. Method: Twenty elderly patients were assessed 3 times; from the time of hospitalization for surgery until 3 weeks after discharge. Measuring tools are numeric rating scales (NRS) for pain and 3 questionnaires developed by the authors to measure difficulties in ambulation, performing indoor ADLs, and emotional status. Pearson correlation, variance analysis and descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data. Result: The level of pain significantly decreased after surgery, but the difference between pain at the time of discharge and that of 3 weeks after discharge were not significant. Pain showed a positive relationship with emotional difficulties. Elderly with a higher education, family caregiver, and regular exercise showed a lower level of emotional difficulties. Conclusion: Comprehensive approaches for chronic pain including physical, psychological, and social aspects should be considered when caring for the elderly with spinal surgery. In addition, home care nursing interventions should include an exercise program to promote adaptation and rehabilitation after discharge.

미국이민 중년 여성의 비만 관련요인과 만성질환에 미치는 영향 (Factors Related to Obesity of Mid-year Korean American Women and Their Prevalence of Chronic Diseases)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate factors related to obesity of mid-age women and to examine the relationship between obesity and chronic diseases including diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease. Methods: Using data from Korean American adults living in California, we analyzed the health behavior (diet, exercise, smoking, and binge drinking) and psychological stress of obese women with body mass index ${\geq}25$ by using chi-square test. Logistic regression was used to investigate independent effects of obesity on chronic diseases, after controlling for risk factors. Results: The prevalence of obesity appeared about 16.9%. The Obese group was less likely than the non-obese group to eat vegetables and more likely feel psychological stress. There were no significant differences in smoking, alcohol intake, and physical exercise between the two groups. Obesity was strongly related to chronic diseases (OR=4.642, 95% CI=1.328-16.222). Conclusion: This study suggests that obesity of mid-age women could be reduced by encouraging health behavior such as eating vegetables daily, performing physical exercise regularly, and taking care of emotional stress. Diet and physical activity interventions and emotional supports should be developed for weight loss and prevention of weight gain in mid-age women.

여고생의 생활습관, 건강상태 및 건강증진행위가 과민성 장증후군 유발에 미치는 영향 (Impacts of Daily Habits, Health Status, and Health Promoting Behavior on Prevalence of Irritable Bowel Syndrome among Female Adolescents)

  • Purpose: This study was to investigate impacts of daily habits, health status and health promoting behavior on prevalence of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) among female high school students. Methods: The survey was conducted from 526 female students in high school. Rome III criteria was used to diagnose IBS. Data of daily habits, health status, and health promoting behavior were collected through self-administered structured questionnaires. Results: The prevalence of IBS was 25.7%. Compared to the non-IBS, the IBS group scored significantly lower in exercise time, sleeping time, four dimensions of health status (physical, emotional, social, spiritual health) and management of relationship and stress in health promoting behavior. Risk factors influencing IBS were exercise time, physical health and emotional health status. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that nursing interventions and education programs are important to be developed, while considering exercise, health status and health promoting behaviors for female adolescents in order to manage their IBS.

기공 운동이 비만인의 건강관련 삶의 질(SF-36)과 심리적 요인에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Qigong Exercise on SF-36 and Psychological Factors of Middle-aged Obese)

  • 많은 비만인들은 사회적인 편견과 차별로 인하여 신체상에 대한 불만족, 우울, 불안 및 정서장애를 경험하고 있으며, 더 나아가 건강과 관련된 삶의 질의 저하를 나타내고 있다. 이러한 비만인들의 정신적 고통을 개선하기 위하여 운동요법은 하나의 긍정적인 치료 방법으로 권장되고 있다. 본 연구는 동양의 전통 운동형태 중 기공 운동이 비만인에게 건강관련 삶의 질(SF-36), 자기효능감, 우울, 불안, 피로의 심리적 요인에 어떠한 효과를 나타내는지를 살펴봄으로써 비만인을 위한 운동처방 지침을 제공하고자 한다. 본 연구의 피검자는 S시 G구에 소재한 S대학교 골든웰빙 운동프로그램에 참가하는 50-60대의 성인으로 통제군 16명, 운동군 17명으로 분류하였다. 기공 운동은 12주 동안 주2회의 빈도로 실시하여, 운동 전 후로 건강관련 삶의 질(SF-36), 신체적 자기효능감, 우울, 불안, 피로도 변인을 측정하였다. 12주간의 기공 운동 전 후 건강관련 삶의 질(SF-36)의 8항목 중 감정역할 제한(F=0.187, p=0.668), 정신건강(F=2.043, p=0.163)은 집단 간의 유의한 차이를 나타내지 못하였으나, 신체기능(F=15.151, p<0.001), 신체역할 제한(F=18.278, p<0.001), 사회적 기능(F=4.957, p=0.033), 활력/피로(F=11.485, p=0.002), 신체통증(F=6.623, p=0.015), 일반적인 건강(F=4.498, p=0.042)의 6가지 변인은 집단 간의 유의한 차이를 나타내었다. 불안(F=0.631, p=0.433)은 집단 간의 유의한 차이를 나타내지 못하였으나, 신체적 자기효능감(F=6.124, p=0.019), 우울(F=5.109, p=0.031), 피로(F=7.998, p=0.008)의 3가지 변인은 집단 간의 유의한 차이를 나타내었다. 비만인에게 있어서 기공 운동은 비록 느린 동작으로 수행되는 낮은 강도의 운동형태일지라도 운동자체가 가져다주는 정신 심리적인 개선효과가 분명하게 나타나는 운동임을 본 연구를 통하여 확인할 수 있었다.

생활체육참여자의 운동변화단계에 따른 운동자기도식과 운동중단유혹의 관계 (Relations between Exercise Self-Schema and Temptation of Quitting Exercise according to the Stages of Exercise Change among Participants in Sports for All)

  • 본 연구는 심리적 과정에 따른 운동행동의 변화를 알아보기 위해 운동변화단계와 운동자기도식, 운동중단유혹의 관계를 분석하는데 목적이 있다. 연구목적 달성을 위하여 공공스포츠센터를 이용하는 성인을 대상으로 총 297부의 최종자료를 사용하였다. 자료처리는 SPSS 18.0을 이용하여 탐색적 요인분석 후 다변량분석, 중다회귀분석, 판별분석을 통해 검증하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 운동변화단계에 따라서 운동자기도식은 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 운동변화단계에 따라서 운동중단유혹은 지도자와 의욕상실에서 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 행동적 자기도식과 의욕상실은 운동변화단계를 판별하는데 주요 요인인 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 운동자기도식은 의욕상실에 부적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 감정에는 인지-감정적 자기도식이 부적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

당뇨병 환자를 위한 실내자전거 기반 운동 코칭 시스템 (Exercise Coaching System based on Indoor Bicycle for Diabetic Patients)

  • 당뇨 환자는 혈당을 정상 범위로 유지하기 위해 운동, 식이, 투약요법을 병행해야만 한다. 운동은 혈당 강하와 정서적 안정에 효과가 크고, 유산소 운동 부하와 혈당 강하간 관계를 규명하려는 많은 연구들이 있다. 그러나, 환자들이 가정에서 쉽게 적절한 운동 부하를 산출하고, 이에 따라 개인별로 운동을 코칭하는 운동 시스템 연구는 부족하다. 본 논문은 실내자전거를 기반으로 운동 정보 자동취득 장치와 모바일 앱을 개발하였고, 이를 통해 개인별 간이 운동 부하 검사와 운동 코칭 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 실험을 통해, 실내 자전거를 이용한 운동 부하 검사와 코칭에 따른 운동전후 혈당 변화를 측정하였다. 모든 실험자의 혈당은 운동 후 감소되었고, 당뇨 환자는 운동 종료 30분 후에도 낮아진 혈당이 유지되었다.

타이치 운동프로그램이 시설노인의 체력, 낙상관련 지각 및 건강상태에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Tai Chi Exercise Program on Physical Fitness, Fall related Perception and Health Status in Institutionalized Elders)

  • Purpose: The purpose was to identify the effects of a Tai Chi exercise program on physical fitness, fall related perception and health status among institutionalized elderly. Methods: A quasi-experimental research was carried out with a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. There were 23 subjects in the experimental group and 24 in the control group. The data was gathered by structured questionnaires about fall related perception, and health status. Physical fitness was measured by an exercise therapist with a blind principle. Results: At the completion of the 12 weeks Tai Chi exercise program, flexibility (F=4.50, p=.00), and ability to balance (F=3.27, p=.00) had increased significantly. Fall related perception showed significant improvement in the fear of falling (F=-3.52, p=.00). Physical functioning (F=3.38, p=.00), role limitation-physical (F=2.67, p=.01), role limitation-emotional (F=2.47, p=.02). and general health (F=3.88, p=.00) in health status showed significant differences between the two groups. Conclusion: The study findings revealed Tai Chi exercise as a useful nursing intervention for elderly that enhances flexibility and balance, decreases fall related perception and also increases the health status. Further research is warranted to compare the potential effects of Tai Chi exercise and its health benefits from other types of exercise or martial arts.

간호대학생의 운동 자기-도식과 운동행동에 관한 융합적 연구 (The Study of Exercise Self-Schema and Exercise Behavior in Nursing Students)

  • 본 연구는 간호대학생의 운동 자기-도식과 운동행동간의 관계를 파악하여 간호대학생의 운동실천정도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하고자 시도되었다. 본 연구는 2018년 11월 1일부터 11월 30일까지 J시에 소재한 대학의 간호대학생 178명에게 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS/WIN 21.0 프로그램을 이용하여 서술통계, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficiention 및 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 운동행동에 영향을 미치는 요인은 행동적 운동자기도식, 운동실천의도, 인지.감정적 운동자기도식 순이었으며, 설명력은 63.8%였다(F=104.59, p<.001). 본 연구를 바탕으로 간호대학생의 운동실천향상을 위해서는 올바른 운동자기도식을 형성시킬 수 있는 건강관련 교육과정 개발이 필요하며, 다양한 신체활동 프로그램을 운영할 수 있도록 대학차원의 적극적인 지원이 필요한 것으로 생각된다.
