  • Background : Mutual understanding between North and South Korea is essential for the engagement of Inter-Korean exchange and cooperation. However, the two Koreas have been divided for 70 years where Korean evolved differently within the two countries. This created a gap in the most basic foundation for mutual understanding, language. Fostering exchange and cooperation in the traditional medicine field requires a higher understanding of the specialized traditional medicine terminologies. Objectives : The purpose of this study is to formulate a future management plan for the "Comparative Terminology of Korean Medicine in South and North Korea," providing a foundation for standardizing Korean medicine terminology of the two Koreas. Methods : The study collected case studies of Korean medicine terminology management and standardization from government and international organization websites and documents. It provided future terminology management strategies based on this data. Results : The project for the standardization of Korean medicine terminology between North and South Korea can be divided into 4 stages according to the level of exchange and cooperation. The first step is to "establish a foundation for terminology standardization." The second step is "term comparison." If the exchanges and cooperation between North and South Korea, the third step will be to promote the "terminology standardization" project through Inter-Korean dialogue. Finally, after incorporating discussion on terminology standardization, the Inter-Korean Medicine Terminology can be published. Conclusions : This requires a system to support and facilitate Inter-Korean medicine exchange and cooperation. It is important to provide a support system that can provide results in a timely fashion by training relevant experts, collecting data and information, communicating with experts in the industry, academia and research institutes. This system will be able to ensure the continuity of the terminology standardization project.

The article also attempts to explore solution to two Koreas' environmental problems from the cooperative perspective between South and North Korea and draw future policy tasks. Research design, data, and methodology - For methodology, North Korea's legal system to cope with disasters is taken into consideration in terms of literature review. This study also analyzes a series of processes related to North Korea's disaster management through case study, and draws policy measures for North and South Korea's cooperation scope and methods. Result - The results support that North Korea is very vulnerable to environmental disasters due to food shortages, economic sanctions, and enormous natural disaster damages including flood damages occurring each year, because of the lack of disaster prevention infrastructure such as river maintenance. Conclusion - At the current time when North and South Koran exchange and cooperation increase, a disaster management cooperative system is needed for the areas where South and North Korea manage through division. • On June 29th, 2010, a cross-straits "Economic and Cooperation Framework Agreement" (ECFA) is signed between China and Taiwan. This pact seems to be the greatest step forward on cooperation between the two sides, reflecting China-Taiwan thaw. As these countries are especially economically interdependent, great economic incomes and security benefits are expected for both sides after cooperation. this development of enlightened cooperation between China and Taiwan, gives many implications for Korea, the two divided countries. Recently, relation between north and south Korea is developing in an entirely different situation compared to the former Kim Dae-Jung or Roh Moo-hyun administrations. But exchange between north and south Korea has not been stopped, though reduced. This reflects the necessity of exchange of the north and the south, and this means that making preparation for the efficient conduct of exchange is needed. So in this study, we consider the China-Taiwan exchange and cooperation development carefully as a model for exchange and cooperation of the north and south Korea, and sought realizable ways to exchange and cooperate between the north and south Korea, which is also a win-win strategy for northeast Asia.

  • It remains that South and North Korea are the most conflict ridden region of the world and at high risk of military collision despite the appropriateness and necessity of unification between South and North Korea. Meanwhile, our government has pushed ahead with exchange between the two countries in many different fields to defuse this conflict and tension. But, these efforts have made it less meaningful as South-North relations are strained again. This can be because temporary recovery of political relation didn't proceed to system improvement and economic cooperation. This study on exchange cooperation of circulation · distribution between South and North Korea begins with expectation that this study will be based on realizing free circulation · distribution for the unification and making an economic bloc through exchange cooperation of circulation · distribution. To expand economy exchange and cooperation between the two nations, the field of circulation · distribution should be developed. On the basis of this discussion, this study suggests that cooperation relation and the mood of reconciliation created by political declaration are institutionalized in the national consensus and exchange should be expanded in the economic field as well as political field.
