국방정보시스템의 진화적 획득전략 (An Evolutionary Acquisition Strategy for Defense Information Systems)

  • Evolutionary acquisition is an alternative to the grand design acquisition approaches. It has activities to make it possible to develop quickly and respond flexibly to changing customer needs and technological opportunities. The Ministry of Defense adopted an evolutionary strategy to acquire defense information systems. but it does not work well always. We look at problems from aspects of acquisition system and project management. We benchmark successful cases for evolutionary acquisition strategy in the DoD, the pubic and the private sector. We suggest an evolutionary strategy for defense information systems. The evolutionary strategy in this study includes an evolutionary acquisition framework, an evolutionary acquisition process, and an evolutionary acquisition guideline for defense information systems. The evolutionary strategy can help to implement evolutionary acquisition process for defense information system, and the process can increase the success rate of projects.

  • An EA(Evolutionary Acquisition) strategy is based on the systems engineering. It is a preferred approach to provide operationally useful capabilities to the warfighter much more quickly than single-step to full capability strategy. Recently, DoD is trying to apply the acquisition process based on the systems engineering. In spite of these trends, efforts of domestic defense acquisition society to this strategy are insufficient. Although an EA strategy has many benefits, there are many constraints to apply it. This study analyzes these constraints and presents applications of the EA strategy to defense R&D programs.

An Acquisition of Strategy in Two Player Game by Coevolutionary Agents

  • The purpose of two player game is that a player beats an enemy. In order to win to various enemies, a learning of various strategies is indispensable. However, the optimal action to overcome the enemies will change when the game done over and again because the enemy's actions also change dynamically. Sol it is din-cult that the player aquires the optimal action and that the specific player keeps winning to various enemies. Species who have a competition relation and affect other's existence is called a coevolution. Coevolution has recently attracred considerable interest in the community of Artificial Life and Evolutionary Computation(1). In this paper, we apply Classifier System for agent team to two player game. A reward and a penalty are given to the used rules when the agent achieve specific action in the game and each team's rulebase are evaluated based on the ranking in the league. We show that all teams can acquire the optimal actions by coevolution.

문제중심 학습방법을 적용한 의사소통론 교과목 개발 및 적용 (A Study of Development and Implementation of Problem-based Learning Program in Communication Curriculum of Nursing Education)

  • Recently, in the academic disciplines critical thinking has been emphasized as the new evolution in education. Problem-based learning is suggested as the evolutionary learning method in developing critical thinking. In the nursing education, PBL is offered as an appropriate teaching method to prepare nurse student for professional. PBL is a student-centered learning strategy aimed at developing critical thinking, motivating self-directed study and attaining autonomy. The purpose of this study was to develop the communication curriculum of nursing education based on PBL and implementing of it. PBL module was developed focused on five communication situations. And learning strategies to facilitate the learning process and the guided questions to stimulate student inquiry were also developed. This PBL education was conducted for six students in the master's course during the 14 weeks from March, 2000 to June, 2000. The outcomes of the PBL education were examined based on the content analysis of the students reflective journal. As a result, it was found that students experienced the effect of it focused on self-oriented, group-oriented, and practice-oriented domain. In the self-oriented domain, the findings indicate that there were 5 kinds of concepts including 'motivation for self-directed study', 'transition toward certainty in knowledge acquisition', 'attempt to apply their prior knowledge into new situation', 'enhancement of self-image in real situation', 'self-growth with self reflection'. In the group-oriented domain, there were 3 kinds of concepts including 'cognitive work in group', 'perception of co-responsibility in attaining learning objectives', 'socialization with group members'. In the practice-oriented domain, there were 3 kinds of concepts including 'linkage theoretical knowledge with real situation', 'attempt to apply in real situation', 'development problem solving skill in real situation'. In conclusion, PBL had a significant effect on self, group, and clinical domain. And assessing PBL outcomes is challenging because standardized instrument do not develop yet. So the findings of this study can suggest the basic data for examining the PBL outcome.

진드기의 수분조절 생리와 진드기 방제전략 (Osmoregulatory Physiology in Ixodidae Ticks: An Alternative Target for Management of Tick)

  • 진드기는 박테리아, 바이러스, 원생동물 및 균류를 포함한 다양한 병원체를 전달할 수 있는 감염병매개체이다. 진드기는 불리한 환경조건에서도 생존할 수 있는 능력이 있으며, 흡혈이 필수적인 절지동물의 진화적 산물로써 비흡혈 기간이 장기간 지속되는 경우에도 생존이 가능하다. 특히, 높은 온도와 낮은 습도 환경에서도 견딜 수 있는 수분 조절 메커니즘과 내열성의 생리적 특징은 진드기가 전 세계적으로 분포하도록 한 중요한 요인이다. 진드기의 침샘, 말피기관, 후장 그리고 뇌를 포함하는 여러 기관이 관여하는 물과 이온의 획득 및 배출은 복합적인 메커니즘에 의해 조절된다. 진드기가 수분을 확보하는 주요 경로는 흡혈과정 또는 공기 중 수증기를 직접 포집하는 방식이며, 이와 더불어 진드기가 자연조건에서 맺힌 물방울을 직접 마시며 수분을 보충한다는 것이 최근 본 연구진의 연구를 통해 밝혀졌다. 물방울에서 획득된 수분은 진드기 침샘의 포도상 부위(유형 I) 또는 중장을 통해 체내로 흡수된다는 것이 형광물질 추적을 통해 확인되었다. 이 연구 결과는 진드기 방제 및 병원체 전파 억제를 위한 전략 개발에 새로운 방향을 제시하였다. 본 종설에서는 진드기 방제를 위한 잠재적 표적인 진드기의 수분조절 및 표피 배설의 생리적 메커니즘을 종합적으로 다룬다.
