  • In this paper, we introduce a web-based system that leverages the capabilities of the ρ(rho)-algorithm, which is a Structure Information Control Net (SICN)-oriented process mining algorithm, with open-source platforms, including Django, Graphviz, and Cytoscape, to facilitate the rediscovery and visualization of business process models. Our approach involves discovering SICN-oriented process models from process instances from the IEEE XESformatted process enactment event logs dataset. This discovering process is facilitated by the ρ-algorithm, and visualization output is transformed into either a JSON or DOT formatted file, catering to the compatibility requirements of Cytoscape or Graphviz, respectively. The proposed system utilizes the robust Django platform, which enables the creation of a userfriendly web interface. This interface offers a clear, concise, modern, and interactive visualization of the rediscovered business processes, fostering an intuitive exploration experience. The experiment conducted on our proposed web-based process discovery system demonstrates its ability and efficiency showing that the system is a valuable tool for discovering business process models from process event logs. Its development not only contributes to the advancement of process mining but also serves as an educational resource. Readers, students, and practitioners interested in process mining can leverage this system as a completely free process miner to gain hands-on experience in rediscovering and visualizing process models from event logs.

  • In workflow process intelligence and systems, workflow process mining and analysis issues are becoming increasingly important. In order to improve the quality of workflow process intelligence, it is essential for an efficient and effective data center storing workflow enactment event logs to be provisioned in carrying out the workflow process mining and analytics. In this paper, we propose a three-dimensional process-aware datacube for organizing workflow enterprise data centers to efficiently as well as effectively store the workflow process enactment event logs in the XES format. As a validation step, we carry out an experimental process mining to show how much perfectly the process-aware datacubes are suitable for discovering workflow process patterns and its analytical knowledge, like enacted proportions and enacted work transferences, from the workflow process enactment event histories. Finally, we confirmed that it is feasible to discover the fundamental control-flow patterns of workflow processes through the implemented workflow process mining system based on the process-aware data cube.

  • The integrity of reactor vessel support system of the Korean Standard Nuclear Power Plant (KSNPP) is investigated for a postulated reactor vessel closure head drop event. The closure head is disassembled from the reactor vessel during refueling process or general inspection of reactor vessel and internal structures, and carried to proposed location by the head lift rig. A postulated closure head drop event could be anticipated during closure head handling process. The drop event may cause an impact load on the reactor vessel and supporting system. The integrity of the supporting system is directly relevant to that of reactor vessel and reactor internals including fuels. Results derived by elastic impact analysis, linear and non-linear buckling analysis and elasto-plastic stress analysis of the supporting system implied that the integrity of the reactor vessel supporting system is intact for a postulated reactor vessel closure head drop event.

  • This study is an effort to develop a stochastic model of precipitation series that preserves the pattern of occurrence of precipitation events throughout the year as well as several characteristics of the duration, amount, and intensity of precipitation events. In this study an event cluster model is used to describe the occurrence of precipitation events. A logarithmic negative mixture distribution is used to describe event duration and separation. The number of events within each cluster is also described by the Poisson cluster process. The duration of each event within a cluster and the separation of events within a single cluster are described by a logarithmic negative mixture distribution. The stochastic model for hourly precipitation occurrence process is fitted to historical precipitation data by estimating the model parameters. To allow for seasonal variations in the precipitation process, the model parameters are estimated separately for each month. an analysis of thirty-four years of historical and simulated hourly precipitation data for Seoul indicates that the stochastic model preserves many features of historical precipitation. The seasonal variations in number of precipitation events in each month for the historical and simulated data are also approximately identical. The marginal distributions for event characteristics for the historical and simulated data were similar. The conditional distributions for event characteristics for the historical and simulated data showed in general good agreement with each other.

  • Nowadays, since there are so many big data available everywhere, those big data can be used to find useful information to improve design and operation by using various analysis methods such as data mining. Especially if we have event log data that has execution history data of an organization such as case_id, event_time, event (activity), performer, etc., then we can apply process mining to discover the main process model in the organization. Once we can find the main process from process mining, we can utilize it to improve current working environment. In this paper we developed a new method to find a final diagnosis of a patient, who needs several procedures (medical test and examination) to diagnose disease of the patient by using process mining approach. Some patients can be diagnosed by only one procedure, but there are certainly some patients who are very difficult to diagnose and need to take several procedures to find exact disease name. We used 2 million procedure log data and there are 397 thousands patients who took 2 and more procedures to find a final disease. These multi-procedure patients are not frequent case, but it is very critical to prevent wrong diagnosis. From those multi-procedure taken patients, 4 procedures were discovered to be a main process model in the hospital. Using this main process model, we can understand the sequence of procedures in the hospital and furthermore the relationship between diagnosis and corresponding procedures.

  • Appreciating the aspect of modem architecture requires not only the comprehension of the nature of design and architects' ways of thinking and expression but also observers' views on buildings and their perceptive/cognitive stages. This calls for an in-depth study on the "system of phenomenological perceptions" that works as a new architectural experience system. The system of phenomenological perceptions makes it possible to specify the individual process of understanding architecture, that is, hands-on experiences, participations, feelings, perceptions, and cognition. The value of user experience and cognition has been emphasized by philosophical and aesthetical concepts as well. Therefore, in order to better appreciate the modern architecture, this study suggests theoretical consideration to "orientation and event" that are crucial elements in understanding a phenomenological view and materializing actual space formation. This offers the cognitive system with which we analyze modem architecture and comprehensive expressional methods. In other words, this study contemplates the system of phenomenological perceptions from an existential spatial perspective by structurizing the system of the orientation and the event in order to segmentalize users' current locations, potential directions, the relations with spaces, continual vie'wpoints as well as buildings' functions and interior and exterior division. The system of phenomenological perceptions helps understand and systemize modern architecture through a system based on relations between sensation, perception, cognition, sensitivity, and rationality. This creates a new cognitive system employing the concept of the orientation and the event, which is different from a normal cognitive system basing on the sense of vision. When observers appreciate space, they tend to relate the space to a certain event and to remember their experiences in it. During the process, they draw borders of the space in which the event takes place and give shape to their experiences including actions, movements, cognition and sensation. The process leads to the formation of "placeness," and here, the concept of the orientation comes in as the location and the center of the placeness. This study proves that a determined orientation coupled with individual experience and events settles the place ness; detailed elements in the cognitive system have close relations with one another; the orientation, actions, events, and places are the factors that materialize observers' architectural experience.

  • Modelling and Simulation of the activation process for the myocardium is meaningful to understand special excitation conduction system in the heart and to study cardiac functions. In this paper, we propose two dimensional cellular automata model for the activation process of the myocardium and simulated by means of discrete time and discrete event algorithm. In the model, cells are classified into anatomically similar characteristic parts of heart; SA node, internodal tracks, AV node, His bundle, bundle branch and four layers of the ventricular muscle, each of which has a set of cells with preassigned properties, that is, activation time, refractory duration and conduction time between neighbor cell. Each cell in this model has state variables to represent the state of the cell and has some simple state transition rules to change values of state variables executed by state transition function. Simulation results are as follows. First, simulation of the normal and abnormal activation process for the myocardium has been done with discrete time and discrete event formalism. Next, we show that the simulation results of discrete time and discrete event cell space model is the same. Finally, we compare the simulation time of discrete event myocardium model with discrete time myocardium models and show that the discrete event myocardium model spends much less simulation time than discrete time myocardium model and conclude the discrete event simulation method Is excellent in the simulation time aspect if the interval deviation of event time is large.

  • Quickly picking up some valuable information from massive manufacturing event stream usually faces with the problem of long detection time, high memory consumption and low detection efficiency due to its stream characteristics of large volume, high velocity, many variety and small value. Aiming to solve the problem above for the current complex event processing methods because of not sharing detection during the detecting process for massive manufacturing event streams, an efficient complex event processing method based on multipattern sharing is presented in this paper. The achievement of this paper lies that a multipattern sharing technology is successfully used to realize the quick detection of complex event for massive manufacturing event streams. Specially, in our scheme, we firstly use pattern sharing technology to merge all the same prefix, suffix, or subpattern that existed in single pattern complex event detection models into a multiple pattern complex event detection model, then we use the new detection model to realize the quick detection for complex events from massive manufacturing event streams, as a result, our scheme can effectively solve the problems above by reducing lots of redundant building, storing, searching and calculating operations with pattern sharing technology. At the end of this paper, we use some simulation experiments to prove that our proposed multiple pattern processing scheme outperforms some general processing methods in current as a whole.
