노인 주간보호시설의 운영, 인력, 서비스 현황 (The Current Status of Adult Day Care in Korea - Operation, Staffing, and Service -)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe the operation, staffing, and services provided at adult day care centers in Korea. Methods: The study was a cross-sectional descriptive survey. The subjects were 209 centers among 280 centers registered in Korea (response rate 74.6%). The data was collected from August to December in 2006. Results: 48.8% of centers were located in a city area. The centers were based on the Social Model 65.5% of the centers were open Monday to Friday, an average of $7{\sim}8$ hours per day Dementia, stroke or frail elderly could use the center, and 57.4% of centers were used for dementia and stroke elderly together. The enrollment of elderly was 13.5. The number of total staff was 8.27, the number of RN's and social workers was 0.67, and 2.54 respectively. The social services(Meal preparation 98.6%, Special event 98.1%, Transportation, 97.1%) were provided more than the health services(Physical therapy 98.1%, ADL training 95.2%, Counseling 84 7%, Vaccination 82.8%, Health monitoring 78.9%, Health education 78.5%, Bathing 66.1%, and Speech therapy 28.2%). Conclusion: These results suggest we have to develop a health-focused adult day health care model based on the needs of elderly and their families. Nurses will have an important role in adult day health care.

미세 간질중첩증에서의 역설적 편측화 (Paradoxical Lateralization of Convulsive Movements in a Subtle Status Epilepticus)

  • Background : Subtle status epilepticus (SE) is an end-stage of convulsive SE. This phenomenon might be a clinical expression of neuronal exhaustion caused by sustained electrical discharges. As subtle SE may show diverse clinical features, early detection depends on clinical suspicion. Case : A 68-year-old woman was presented with repetitive involuntary movement of right limbs after two generalized tonic-clonic seizures. She experienced right middle cerebral artery infarction 4 months ago, and after the event, left side hemiplegia sustained. These seizures were first-ever after the cerebral infarction. Orientation and verbal responses were fairly preserved but general cognitive function was minimally slowed. During the video-EEG monitoring, repetitive sharp waves were noted in the right hemisphere and these sharp waves occasionally spread to the contralateral side. Her right side involuntary movement was identifiable when the epileptic discharges were found on her right hemisphere. Conclusion : We suggested that this unexpected convulsive movement is a reflection of earlier exhaustion in the right hemisphere or deefferentation of right hemisphere because of preexisting neuronal damage.

최소제곱법에 의한 PSC보의 음향방출파원 위치결정 (Location of Acoustic Emission Sources in a PSC Beam using Least Squares)

  • 음향방출(AE: Acoustic Emission) 기법은 구조물 내부에서 발생하는 균열을 연속적으로 모니터링 할 수 있는 효과적인 비파괴검사법이다. 본 논문에서는 AE센서을 이용하여 PSC 보에서의 파원위치를 결정하기 위한 수학적 모델을 제시하고 실험을 통해 제시된 모델을 평가하였다. 실험을 위해 제작된 5m-PSC보의 표면에서 인위적으로 쉬미트해머의 타격에 의해 탄성파를 발생시켰으며 1m 간격으로 선형으로 배치된 7개의 AE센서에 의해 탄성파의 도달시간이 측정되었다. 최소제곱법에 의해 측정된 도달시간의 잔차의 제곱합이 최소가 되도록 파원의 위치를 구한 후, 실제 타격위치와 비교하여 추정된 위치결정방법의 정확도를 평가하였다. 54개의 타격실험을 통해 얻어진 파원위치의 평균제곱근 오차는 약 2cm 이었다.

무선 센서네트워크 환경에서 Duty Cycle 기반 동기식 및 비동기식 MAC 프로토콜의 에너지 성능과 지연시간에 대한 상호 분석 (The Energy Performance Analysis Between Synchronous and Asynchronous Duty Cycle based MAC Protocols in Wireless Sensor Networks)

  • Recently, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) require energy performance and guaranteed delivery delay time, contrarily with previous MAC protocols that aim to high throughput mostly. In order to satisfy the new significant requirements, many MAC protocols of WSN employ and try to enhance the duty cycle mechanism which is energy efficient technique in MAC layer. This duty cycle mechanism is oriented by toggling the transceiver conditions composed of wakeup and sleep states. The synchronous MAC protocols perform the period synchronization process. Hence, these are energy efficient in periodic monitoring environment, but are inefficient in where an event is incurred rarely and infrequently. Otherwise, the performance of asynchronous MAC protocols are contrarily with synchronous protocols. In this paper, we design two models consisting Always-busy and Always-idle ti simplify the general network congestion conditions. Through these models, moreover, we analyze two types MAC protocols in terms of energy efficiency and delay performance by analytical results. Additionally, we also evaluate two MAC protocols with two gongestion models that we designed. By the analytical and simulated results, we provide the general and efficient decision method in which protocols are more appropriate in a certain WSN environment.

  • This paper is to investigate a defect for thermal barrier coating layers by acoustic emission method in 4-point bending test. The two-layer thermal barrier coating is composed of $150\mu{m}\;CoNiCrAlY\;bond\;coating\;by\;vacuum\;plasma\;spray(VPS)\;process\;and\;250\mu{m}\;ZrO_2-8wt%Y_2O_3$ ceramic coating layer by air plasma spray(APS) process on Inconel-718. The specimen prepared by cyclic thermal test(500, 1000, 2000cycle) at $1050^{\circ}C$ The AE monitoring system is composed of PICO type sensor, a wide band pre-amplifier(40dB), PC and AE DSP(16/32 PAC) board. The AE event, amplitude, Cumulative energy and count of coating specimens is evaluated according to cyclic thermal test.

RTK 방법 및 회귀분석 방법을 이용한 RDII 예측 결과 비교 (Comparisons of RDII Predictions Using the RTK-based and Regression Methods)

  • In this study, the RDII predictions were compared using two methodologies, i.e., the RTK-based and regression methods. Long-term (1/1/2011~12/31/2011) monitoring data, which consists of 10-min interval streamflow and the amount of precipitation, were collected at the domestic study area (1.36 km2 located in H county), and used for the construction of the RDII prediction models. The RTK method employs super position of tri-triangles, and each triangle (called, unit hydrograph) is defined by three parameters (i.e., R, T and K) determined/optimized using Genetic Algorithm (GA). In regression method, the MovingAverage (MA) filtering was used for data processing. Accuracies of RDII predictions from these two approaches were evaluated by comparing the root mean square error (RMSE) values from each model, in which the values were calculated to 320.613 (RTK method) and 420.653 (regression method), respectively. As a results, the RTK method was found to be more suitable for RDII prediction during extreme rainfall event, than the regression method.

에너지 효율성과 서비스 품질 보장을 위한 MAC 프로토콜 (Energy-efficient and QoS Guaranteed MAC protocol in Ubiquitous Sensor Networks)

  • USN이 적용되는 분야가 확장되고, 연구가 활발히 이루어짐에 따라, 다수개의 USN이 상호 혼재하는 단계를 거쳐, 하나의 USN을 통해 다수의 응용서비스가 제공되는 단계로 진화될 것으로 전망된다. 따라서 하나의 USN에서 전달하는 데이터 패턴은 드문 데이터 리포팅, 연속적인 정보 모니터링, 이벤트 드리븐 데이터, 쿼리를 기반으로 하는 데이터 등의 여러 패턴이 혼재하게 될 것이다. 이러한 데이터 패턴들은 각 각이 요구하는 지연, 에러 비율, 전송률 등의 QoS 특성이 다르게 된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이런 환경에서 적합한 QoS를 보장해 줄 수 있는 MAC 프로토콜을 제안하였다. 제안된 알고리즘은 여러 응용에 맞춰 서비스를 제공하기 때문에 불필요한 에너지의 소비를 줄일 수 있다.

RFID/USN기반 e-Meters 시스템의 미들웨어 구현 (Implementation of e-Meters System Middleware base on RFID/USN)

  • 본 논문에서는 EPCglobal에서 표준화한 미들웨어를 이용하여 e-Meters 미들웨어와 응용 프로그램을 제안하였다. EPCglobal의 표준화된 미들웨어는 SCM 및 기타 물류의 형태로 관리할 수 있도록 설계되어 있다. RFID기반을 이용한 다양한 서비스를 지원하기 위해서는 각각의 하드웨어 프로토콜을 지원할 수 있어야 한다. e-Meters 미들웨어의 주된 기능으로는 정보 상태 및 전달, 분산 데이터베이스 처리, 이벤트 발생 데이터 분석, 처리 등이 있다. e-Meter 시스템정보를 실시간으로 운영하기 위해서 데이터를 수집한 결과를 처리하는 과정까지 구성하였다.

압전센서를 이용한 코골이와 심박 검출을 위한 자동 알고리즘 (Automatic Detection Algorithm for Snoring and Heart beat Using a Single Piezoelectric Sensor)

  • In this paper, we proposed a novel method for automatic detection for snoring and heart beat using a single piezoelectric sensor. For this study multi-rate signal processing technique was applied to detect snoring and heart beat from the single source signal. The sound event duration and intensity features were used to snore detection and heart beat was found by autocorrelation. The performance of the proposed method was evaluated on clinical database, which is the nocturnal piezoelectric snoring data of 30 patients that suffered obstructive sleep apnea. The method achieved sensitivity of 88.6%, specificity of 96.1% with accuracy of 95.6% for snoring and sensitivity of 94.1% and positive predictive value of 87.6% for heart beat, respectively. These results suggest that the proposed method can be a useful tool in sleep monitoring and sleep disordered breathing diagnosis.

지상 LiDAR를 이용한 만리포 해변 정밀 지형측량 및 지형 변화 분석 (Terrestrial LiDAR Measurements and Analysis of Topographical Changes on Malipo Beach)

  • A terrestrial LiDAR was used to acquire precise and high-resolution topographical information of Malipo beach, Korea. Terrestrial LiDAR and RTK-DGPS (VRS) were mounted on top of a survey vehicle and used to scan 20 times stop-and-go method with 250 m spacing intervals at ebb tides. In total, 7 measurements were made periodically from 2008 to 2009 and after each beach replenishment event. We carried out GIS-based 3D spatial analysis such as slope and volume calculations in order to assess topographical changes over time. In relation to beach replenishment, comparative analysis of each volume change revealed them to be similar. This result indicates that the terrestrial LiDAR measurements are accurate and can be used to analyze temporal topographical changes. In conclusion, the methodology employed in this study can be used efficiently to exercise coastal management through monitoring and analyzing beach process such as erosion and deposition.
