This paper aims at optimizing the auxiliary ventilation system in large-opening limestone mines with unducted fans. An extensive CFD and also site study were carried out for optimization at the blind entries. The fan location, operating mode, and layout are the parameters for optimization. Since the jet stream discharged from the auxiliary fan is flowing faster than 15 m/s in most of the cases, the stream collides with floor, sides or roof and even with the jet stream generated from the other fan placed upstream. Then, it is likely to lose a large portion of its inertial force and then its ventilation efficiency drops considerably. Therefore, the optimal fan installation interval is defined in this study as an interval that maximizes the uninterrupted flowing distance of the jet stream, while the cross-sectional installation location can be optimized to minimize the energy loss due to possible collision with the entry sides. Consequently, the optimization of the fan location will improve ventilation efficiency and subsequently the energy cost. A number of different three-dimensional computational domains representing a full-scale underground space were developed for the CFD study. The velocity profiles and the CO concentrations were studied to design and optimize the auxiliary ventilation system without duct and at the same time mine site experiments were carried out for comparison purposes. The ultimate goal is to optimize the auxiliary ventilation system without tubing to provide a reliable, low-cost and efficient solution to maintain the clean and safe work environment in local large-opening underground limestone mines.

The signalized intersections near highway-railroad grade crossing are operated without signal preemption in Korea when trains are approaching the crossing. This signal operation is very dangerous because queues from the intersection can extend back over the track, thereby creating the Potential for a serious vehicle-train accident. And the queues from the crossing can extend to the intersection with the normal signal operation while trains Pass the crossing. In this case the intersection is disrupted, and delay and the Potential for vehicle accident increase highly In order to improve the intersection performance and Protect the accident the crossings and intersections. signal Preemption designed to provide a special control mode should be implemented. In this study it was shown that intersection Performance near highway-railroad grade crossing improved using signal preemption. When signal Preemption is implemented at the test site, the delay was reduced by about 9sec/veh. Even though there were vehicle-train accidents at the crossing in all 30 simulations without signal preemption. there was no vehicle-train accidents at all when signal preemption is used.
Some road charges toll to finance the cost or to manage traffic congestion. With a growth of PPI projects, toll roads would be increase continuously. Tolls have a considerable influence on user's route choice, and sometimes can affect to the departure time and even to mode choice. For modelling toll roads, user's WTP or VOT has an important role and it is general that VOT is equivalent to the wages of workers. The current way of modelling technique yields various toll price elasticity from low to high. When there exist few alternative routes, unrealistic result that all traffic assigned to some shortest path may occur. The toll price elasticity can be influenced by alternative route and congestion level, but some result shows nearly unrealistic patterns. The model to forecast more realistic toll road demand is very essential for estimating toll revenue, choice of optimal toll level & collecting location and establishing toll charge strategy. This paper reviewed some literatures about toll road modelling and tested case study about the assignment technique with different VOT. The case study shows that using different VOT yields more realistic result than the use of single VOT.

To understand the cross-sectional structures of temperature, salinity and current across the Korea Strait, field measurements were carried out for the period of May 2 to 20, 1994. Using the R/V Tam Yang, detailed CTD profiles and ADCP records were obtained and used to examine the mean and variability field on two time scales (15 days and 25 hours). A sharp coastal front in the middle of the Korea Strait exists across which two different water masses, i.e., warm and saline water in the eastern side and cold and less saline water in the western side are neighboring. We observed highly variable field of T and S apparently caused by the westward movement of warm and saline water mass. Short-term fluctuations of T and S in the middle layer are remarkable and their importance was analysed as the first Eigen mode accounting for more than 50% of total variances. The currents in th Korea Strait are strongly influenced by tidal currents with spring and neap variation whose maximum speed ranges 80-90 and 60-70 cm/s respectively near the central portion of the channel. Strong southward tidal current could even mask the Tsushima Current completely. Results of harmonic analysis show that the magnitudes of semidiurnal, diurnal and mean components of currents are comparable to each other at spring and neap tide conditions. The volume transport across the western channel of the Korea Strait were estimated to be 2.1 Sv at neap tide condition and 3.4 Sv at spring tide condition.
This study aims at analyzing the characteristics of deconestructionism expressed in Issey Myake's fashion who is one of the most creative designers in the world. Method and contents of this study are as follows. Through the review of literatures, three major categories such as interminacy of meaning, decentring, and intertextuality and eight subcategories have been identified as major features of deconestructionism. These subcategories for content analysis were selected to examine the characteristics of deconstructionism expressed in Issey Myake's design in depth. Interminacy of meaning was divided into unstructured and unconstructed factors while decentring into qualities of cross-gender, subculture, anti-fashion, and post-humanism. Lastly, intertextuality was classified into factors of disordered mixing mode and mixed styles. Materials for analysis were chosen from total 349 designs on the website,www.firstview.com, which carries Issey Miyake's collection from 2002 S/S through 2006 F/W. 2 fashion major analysts including the researcher participated in 1st analysis and two another fashion major analysts participated in 2nd analysis. The final level of consistency between analysts was over 97% for all categories. The data analysis quantitatively evaluates the frequency of each category and qualitatively evaluates the characteristics of design. The result is as follows. First, the avant-garde facets of inter-textuality are most prominent. In particular, Miyake has introduced the various novelly textiles to fashion and employed the mixtured styles, not to copy them but to create hybrid designs by using pastiches and mixing fashion styles. Moreover, he has used various fabrics in order to inflict shock and contrast but still create subtle harmony, thus enriching his fashion. Second, the indeterminacy of meaning is the second most frequently shown facet of Miyake's fashion design. Miyake has employed unconstructed expression techniques, which has projected unusual images free from basic forms of designs and also has used the unstructured styles which dismantle harmony and balance-the common rule of design. He has made a new attempt to acknowledge clothing as an expressive artwork by allowing clothes to take a complete form when a person actually wears them. He has demonstrated a unique perspective on cloth construction and presented a love for artistic collaboration in the development of his collections A distinct manufactured aesthetic is exaggerated, even hyperbolic. Thirdly, the aspects of decentralization were also shown in Miyake's design, however, it has been visibly decreased after 2002 S/S.
This study was conducted to investigate the anatomical and ultrastructural responses of the oxyfluorfen-tolerant and -susceptible rice cultivars with barnyardgrass, a typical susceptible weed by oxyfluorfen and the herbicides having similar mode of action treatment. After the treatment of $10^{-5}M$ oxyfluorfen, the tolerant rice cultivars no showed the structural damage of leaf surface, but the susceptible rice cultivate was damaged in the wax and the susceptible barnyardgrass was even destroyed in the tissue irregularly. Also in the susceptible rice cultivars and barnyardgrass the thickness of leaf blade was greatly decreased. The anatomical change was not observed in the tolerant rice cultivars but epidermal cells, mesophyll cells and bundle sheath cells were badly broken in the susceptible rice cultivars and barnyardgrass and especially after 24 hours of the treatment the structure of susceptible rice cultivars was completely disintegrated. The irregularity of chloroplast shape and the distortion of chloroplast envelope were generally observed and the starch tended to decrease by oxyfluorfen treatment regardless of rice cultivars. Such a structural damage were appeared more badly in the susceptible rice cultivars and bamyardgrass than in the tolerant rice cultivars. By the treatment of diphenyl ether herbicides, the thickness of leaf blade greatly reduced in the order of oxyfluorfen > acifluorfen > bifenox > oxadiazon, and the susceptible rice cultivars showed more reduction than the tolerant rice cultivars. Especially, the susceptible rice cultivars showed that the leaf structure was badly broken down with damage epidermal cells and bundle sheath cells.
In this study, we conducted the study of the merits and demerits of the laser flash and the divided-bar methods for measuring the thermal conductivity of rocks and investigated applicability of the divided-bar apparatus which was developed by KIGAM. The laser flash method can measure thermal diffusivity, specific heat capacity, and thermal conductivity of rocks with even small thickness (< ~3 mm) in the high temperature range($25-200^{\circ}C$) in non-contact mode. For the laser flash method, samples must be uniform and homogeneous. In the case of the divided-bar method, the apparatus measures only thermal conductivity of rock samples at the room temperature. We measured thermal conductivities of 12 rock samples with low density and high porosity using two methods. In the laser flash method, there exist potential errors caused by the effect of pulse dispersion and reflection by various minerals and porosity in rock samples; the difference in thermal conductivity values measured on the front surface and the opposite surface ranges from 0.001 to 0.140 W/mK with the standard deviation of 0.003~0.089 W/mK, which seems to be caused by heterogeneity of rock samples. On the contrary, the divided-bar apparatus shows stable thermal conductivity measurements and relatively small measurement errors; the difference in thermal conductivity values, just as we applied to the laser frash method, is 0.001~0.016 W/mK with the standard deviation 0.001~0.034 W/mK. In turn, the divided-bar method can be applied to more thick samples that are more representative of bulk thermal conductivity.

In this paper, a broadband phase shifter structure using a new switched network was proposed. A new reference network is composed of coupled lines and 45$^{\circ}$open and short stubs, which are shunted at the edge points of a main line, respectively, A delay network is composed of only a standard transmission line. It is possible to design a broadband 180$^{\circ}$phase shifter that phase dispersive characteristics by an impedance ratio R of coupled lines and greater phase dispersive characteristics by characteristic impedances Zm, Zs of a main line and stubs are used together. By considering a structure symmetry, the even and odd mode analysis was performed to obtain theoretical S-parameters of the proposed phase shifter. Also, through computer simulation on the basis of derived equations, design graphs were presented to optimally design a 180$^{\circ}$broadband phase shifter. Design graphs provide the values of characteristic impedances Zm, Zs, and I/O match and phase bandwidths. To verify electrical performances of the broadband phase shifter proposed in this paper, low different 180$^{\circ}$phase shifters, operated at the center frequency 3 GHz were designed and fabricated using design graphs, and were experimented. One of them was designed as a standard Schiffman structure to compare with electrical performances. Measured results of each phase shifter to satisfy simultaneously design conditions of I/O match (VSWR=1.15:1) and maximum phase deviation $({\varepsilon}_{{\Delta}{\phi}}={\pm}2^{\circ})$ were well in agreement with corresponding simulation results over impedance match and phase error bandwidths, and showed broadband characteristics.

The modal spilt of highway has been increased and the one of railway has been decreased from 17.2%(1990) to 6.3%(2006). In this context, it is meaningful to examine the competitiveness of the railroad of Korea. The objective of this study is to analyze the competitiveness of railroad with the highway so that countermeasures improving the competitiveness of railroad could be suggested. For this, firs of all, indicators representing the competitiveness of the railroad transport are determined. The main influencing factors for mode choice include transport time, transport cost and level of service. Three types of commodity, container, cement and steel are the target for the analysis. It was found that the overall competitiveness of railroad transport is weaker compared with highway even for the main freight origin-destination pairs. It means that the freight transport system is focused on road rather than railroad. Therefore, we need to remeasure the competitiveness of railroad transport related to methods for freight railroad competitiveness improvement.
The national capacity of electricity of Korea was 81,737 MW and the peak demand was renewed by the record of 71,230 MW in 2012 which has been increasing since the first lighting ceremony had taken place in the Royal Palace(Kyung-Bok Goong) in 1887. Aa the counteract on the rapid increasing of the demand, Korean government is constructing and operating the high capacity nuclear and thermal power plants, however, the operating reserve on weekdays is small while those of weekends are more than 40% of capacity, so they are providing the pumped-storage power plants with the surplus electricity during weekends and operating the power plants which cost higher production price and located in the capital area with WSS (Weekly Start and Stop) mode including the Seoul Thermal Power Plant. Since the Seoul Thermal Power Plant is spending huge amount of expenses for more than 30 times of the WSS annually due to the high production cost even though it is in Seoul, the core of the demand, I chose the power plant unit #5 which was on the grid in 1969 for the case to confirm reducing 23% of the warm start-up time by applying the "Start-up time management program", and that reducing 35% of the water temperature increasing time by accelerate the increasing rate of the inlet temperature of the water circulating pump.
