This paper is intented to present a information of various aspects of quality related characteristics and standards for grades in maize. Maize is world's one of the three most popular cereal crops and a primary energy supplement and can contribute up to 30, 60, and 98% of the dairy diet's protein, net energy, and starch, respectively. Maize is also processed into industrial goods by wet or dry milling. Sweet corn is a leader among vegetable crops and its production for fresh or processing markets is a major industry in many countries. Over the years, the combined efforts of breeders and geneticists, biochemists, food scientists, and others have helped bring us to the point where we understand issues related to sweet corn quality. Traditional criteria for selecting corn hybrids have been based primarily on agronomic factors, including grain production, disease resistance, drought tolerance, and storage characteristics. Little emphasis has been placed on the quality and nutritional values of corn. Although there is widespread interest for value-enhanced corns have increased tremendously in the last five years, there is limited information available on the production and comparing the quality attributes of specialty grains with those of normal yellow dent corn. Most countries have developed national maize standards, aiming to provide a framework for trade, both internal and external. Where trading involves direct choice and price negotiation in front of the commodity, grading standards are rarely employed; quality is assessed visually and is influenced by end-use, and the price is determined more by local rather than national factors. The use of an agreed standard will provide an unambiguous description of the quality of the consignment and assist in the formation of a legally-binding contract. Standards can also be seen to protect consumers rights through setting limits to the amount of unsuitable or noxious material.
Background: Significant technological development and changes happened in the tractor industries. Contrariwise, the test procedures of the major standard development organizations (SDO's) remained unchanged or with a little modification over the years, demanding new tractor test standards or improvement of existing ones for tractor performance, safety, and comfort. Purpose: This study focuses on reviewing the research trends regarding performance, safety and comfort evaluation of agricultural tractors. Based on this review, few recommendations were proposed to revise or improve the current test standards. Review: Tractor power take-off power test using the DC electric dynamometer reduced human error in the testing process and increased the accuracy of the test results. GPS signals were used to determine acceleration and converted into torque. High capacity double extended octagonal ring dynamometer has been designed to measure drawbar forces. Numerical optimization methodology has been used to design three-point hitch. Numerous technologies, driving strategies, and transmission characteristics are being considered for reducing emissions of gaseous and particulate pollutants. Engine emission control technology standards need to be revised to meet the exhaust regulations for agricultural tractors. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) program has been used to design Roll-Over Protective Structures (ROPS). Program and methodology has been presented for testing tractor brake systems. Whole-body vibration emission levels have been found to be very dependent upon the nature of field operation performed, and the test track techniques required development/adaptation to improve their suitability during standardized assessment. Emphasizes should be given to improve visibility and thermal environment inside the cab for tractor operator. Tractors need to be evaluated under electromagnetic compatibility test conditions due to large growing of electronic devices. Research trends reviewed in this paper can be considered for possible revision or improvement of tractor performance, safety, and comfort test standards.

Purpose: There are no clear criteria for slip performance in the BF certification process, so the evaluator relies on subjective judgments depending on the field situation. Physical criteria for determining the slip performance of various floor finishes are not clear. C.S.R., the only criterion currently being used to check slip performance, may raise questions about its coverage, feasibility and reliability. Method: For an analysis of domestic standards and status, KS L 1001, KS M 3510, and KS F 2375. External standards are analyzed for ADA Standard, ANSI Standard, and BS EN Standard. Analyze the test methods and evaluation criteria of O-Y-PSM, BPT, and the dynamic slip resistance test used in these criteria. It also presents an improvement plan for the rational presentation of standards. Results: To date, various kinds of test methods and measuring devices of the slip resistance coefficient have been developed, but there are not many ways to trust useful results related to user safety. Reliability and thoroughly verified test methods and criteria should be used to assess the slip performance of the floor. In order to improve the standard for the evaluation of slip performance in Korea, the existing standard should first be raised to the same level as the overseas standard, and the application of the discriminatory standard should be applied considering the characteristics and usage patterns of each space. Implication: Currently, Korean standards propose various test methods, but the proper use of test methods, scope and assessment criteria are not established, so improvement of the comprehensive standard is necessary.

In April 2019, this study was enacted as a test method for the performance of waterproof layers in an environment where complex deterioration and structural behavior are simultaneously applied, but some existing standards were implemented to point out the errors of the method that should be supplemented. Thus, in establishing standards for (tentative) adhesive waterproofing sheets, field workability and quantification of test results were studied on the structural behavior response performance test methods included as test items. In addition, the performance evaluation of adhesive-type composite waterproof sheets was conducted based on the considered contents to review improvements such as applicability as an item of standard standards and field workability related problems.

Research performance evaluation has been based heavily on quantitative criteria. Various limitations however were revealed and the demand for excellence in research quality was growing and the importance of qualitative evaluation factors was increasing as well. The study investigates and introduces cases for improving research evaluation that have appeared around the world since 2010. To extract qualitative factors that can be introduced in research achievement evaluation in Korea this study investigated and organized the performance evaluation cases of foreign universities and proposed the introduction of the evaluation method in Korea. Qualitative evaluation factors were extracted by analyzing achievement evaluation documents evaluation procedures and evaluation standards of top 10 universities around the world. As a results this study proposes the use of various performance evaluation documents mulch-faceted evaluation and multi-level performance evaluation process and various qualitative performance evaluation standards. In traditional bibliometrics, while the degree of citation was measured when generating research evaluation indicators, future indicators may reflect recommendation scores as indicators, or include industrial connectivity and utilization in education / industry. It is hoped that the performance evaluation method will be balanced through this paper and ultimately the professor's research achievement evaluation will be a process that can help individuals grow into excellent researchers and develop the research environment.

The use of technical proposal tendering has been expanding recently with the aim of effecting cost reduction, quality enhancement, technological development and value realization centered on multifunctional administrative cities, innovation cities, and the Yongsan relocation project. In line with the increasing interest towards life cycle cost improvement measures as an important evaluation category concerning technical proposal tendering, efforts in preparing measures that can execute the security of credibility and objective evaluation concerning architectural life cycle cost are being made. However, problems such as lack of applicable cases of design development and detail design, distortion of initial construction costs concerning the original plan, combination of constant price and current price, the ambiguity of the calculation standards between tendering corporations, inaccuracy of terms, and insufficient compositional formats concerning life cycle improvement measures are being cited. Accordingly, this study sought to propose a measure to improve the compositional guidelines, format, and standards so that a systematic life cycle cost evaluation can be executed for the reliable distinction of each participating corporation, enhanced credibility and objective evaluation of the life cycle cost improvement measure for technical proposals.

This research was thereby made to study and analysis ecological, landscape, and stability qualities of roadside cut Slopes in expressways and national highways that went through revegetation works. Also, evaluation items and framework for integrated assessment of plant structure and restored state for the maintenance were suggested. Following is the summary of the result. firstly, for stabilization of introduced native plant species on roadside cut slops, assessment on the post-project environmental management through long-term monitoring and maintenance works must be made. It signifies a form of authentic recovery and restoration by the native plants. second, current evaluation framework on the test beds is well managed with clear evaluation standards and table while its method of assessing the post management with only test bed results lacks conformity with this study site. Newly developed evaluation framework on the post construction sites is estimated to be used as assessment standards on any roadside construction sites. Third, after site investigation distinction was observed among different revegetating construction types in the long-term perspective. Due to the different duration time of vegetation state between seed-spray measures(degraded in time) and layer-spray measure(maintained), the use of coarse straw-mat mulching work or Coir net was suggested in long term maintenance of cut slopes. forth, segmentation of post environmental assessment is organized into three large categories of "ecological", "stabile", and "landscape" qualities regarding post restoration quality and stability of slope through native plants with which categories marks 50, 30, 20 points of rates. fifth, components of the post environmental assessment were segmented in twelve categories driving results from former experimental construction and newly focused items on site. In the future, it is possible to propose a customized assessment method considering the location and location of construction work if the research on the application of post-environment assessment methods for road construction surface recording is conducted systematically.

With the development of industrial technology and science, production and manufacturing facilities have been enhanced and improved, and the importance of the safety of workers has also been regulated and limited by various safety management methods. As a way to secure the safety of the workers from the production facility, the fail-safe and fool-proof methods are now being applied. Any possible insecure behavior and unsafe conditions can be removed by adopting the standards and specifications that are now secure the safety of workers and equipment. This research analyzes EN ISO 13849-1 international and European standards during CE certification. In order to secure acceptable reduced risks, the risk assessment process of ISO 12100 and the processes for reducing its risk are applied. In the current ISO 13849-1 standard, the criteria for the required performance level PLr (Required Performance Level) for the applicable risk and safety functions through the risk assessment are subjective and not subdivided. Therefore, the evaluation criteria are likely to cause judge's judgement error due to qualitative judgement. This research focuses on evaluation and acceptable performance level setting for the safety circuit of the equipment. We propose an objective and specific evaluation criteria to secure safety, and the proposed evaluation criteria are applied to the case study of the safety circuit for the equipment. In order to secure the safety of the entire safety circuit, the improvement of the MTTFd and DC level related to the SRP/CS (Safety-Related Parts of Control Systems)' lifetime is required for the future research.
Recently, the automobile industry has developed ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) to prevent traffic accidents and reduce driver's driving burden. Among the ADAS, the LKAS (Lane Keeping Assistance System) is a support system for the convenience and safety of the driver, and the main function is to maintain the driving lane of the vehicle. LKAS is a system that uses radar sensor and camera sensor to collect information about the position of the vehicle in the lane and to support keeping the lane through control if necessary. In many countries, LKAS has already been commercialized and the convenience and safety of drivers have been improved. The international LKAS evaluation test procedure is being developed and discussed by standardization committees such as the ISO (International Organization for Standardization) and the Euro NCAP (New Car Assessment Program). In Korean, the LKAS test method is specified in the KNCAP (Korean New Car Assessment Program), but the evaluation method is not defined. Therefore, the LKAS test procedure that meets international standards and is suitable for domestic road environment is necessary. In this paper, development of LKAS test evaluation scenarios that meets international standards and considering domestic road environment, and the formula that can evaluate the result value after control as the relative distance of lane and the front wheel are suggested. And a comparative analysis was conducted to verify the validity of the suggested scenario and formula. The test evaluation was conducted using the vehicle equipped with the LKAS.
The aim of this study is to analyze the current status and performance evaluation systems of faculty in Korean medical colleges and professional graduate medical schools (called medical schools). We developed a research tool based on previous studies and distributed it to 40 medical schools from July to October 2017. The response rate was 100%. We calculated the number of faculty members and analyzed the faculty evaluation systems and awareness according to national and private medical schools. As of 2017, the number of medical faculty in Korea was 11,111 (4,973 faculty were employed by their alma mater, which is 44.76% of the total), with non-medical doctor faculty accounting for 754 of the total. The medical schools reflect research achievements as most important for re-appointment and screening to promote faculty, and the area of education is secondary excepting clinical faculty of private medical schools. However, important issues in the faculty evaluation deal with the relevance of research achievement and the need for qualitative assessment. Some medical schools revised or have been revising the faculty evaluation system in areas such as minimum standards of education for promotion and separation of promotion and tenure review. Opening non-tenure track lines for faculty show positive effects such as increasing the number of positions for hire and easing the financial burdens of medical schools. Downfalls include inconsistencies between the responsibilities and actual practices of tenure not being available and the instability of faculty's status. In conclusion, medical schools need to prepare a faculty evaluation system that fits the position of faculty members and attempt to establish a reasonable compensation system.
