This paper represents the solar collector performance with type of an evacuate double glass, and a copper tube was installed in center of collector to get a solar thermal energy. The one module of solar collector and artificial sun were used in this experiment The distance between artificial sun and solar collector was fixed at 0.5m, and this experimental condition was focused on winter season. The experiments were carried out. three times for getting a accurate data and the heat amount of one module evacuate d solar collector was estimated at out. 48 kcal/hr.
In this research, to develop the practical application system of fresh water generation system with plate-type fresh water generator using low pressure evaporation method is the main object, and to do that, this study used the evacuated solar collector with operating range of about $50-85^{\circ}C$ as thermal energy source and solar photovoltaic as electric energy source. To achieve that object, this study set up the demo-plant, then estimated and analyzed the usefulness, the safety, and the reliability through pre-tests during short time ahead of the long-time operation. This study showed that the pumps, which are including sea water supply, ejector, hot water supply, and fresh water pumps, were operated one after another. And, the fresh water yield was closely related with the solar irradiance and lower supply temperature of hot water was revealed more reasonable for the solar energy desalination system. That is due to the insufficient area than the solar collector area being required that was estimated through the performance tests of the fresh water generator.

Cylindrical parabolic solar concentrators of small concentration ratio are attractive options for working temperatures around $120^{\circ}C$. The heat gained can be utilized in many applications such as air conditioning, space heating, heating water and many others. These collectors can be easily manufactured and do not need to track the sun continuously. Using a heat pipe as a solar absorber makes the system more compact and easy to install. This study is devoted to modeling a system of cylindrical parabolic solar concentrators of small concentration ratio (around 5) fitted with a heat pipe absorber with a porous wick. The heat pipe is surrounded by evacuated glass tube to reduce thermal losses from the heat pipe. The liquid and vapor flow equations, energy equation, the internal and external boundary conditions were taken into consideration. The system of equations was solved and the numerical results were validated against available experimental and numerical results. The validated heat pipe model was inserted in an evacuated transparent glass tube as the absorber of the cylindrical parabolic collector. A calculation procedure was developed for the system, a computer program was developed and tested and numerical simulations were realized for the whole system. An experimental solar collector of small concentration, fitted with evacuated tube heat pipe absorber was constructed and instrumented. Experiments were realized with the concentrator axis along the E-W direction. Results of the instantaneous efficiency and heat gain were compared with numerical simulations realized under the same conditions and reasonably good agreement was found.
In this study, the performance of solar assisted hybrid heat pump system with cloud cover were analyzed by using experimental method in spring season. It was consisted of concentric evacuated tube solar collector, heat medium tank, heat storage tank, heat pump, and so on. As a result, the solar radiation should be maintained over $4.1\;MJ/m^2$ in order to operate solar heating system for heating. Solar heat of collector wasn't affected by ambient temperature, but cloud cover has a big effect to collector efficiency. In addition, the collector efficiency is about 50-60%, and solar fraction is 40% for this system.
The thermoelectric generator using solar heat was applied to the device (heat-electricity conversion device) to produce small-scale electricity. The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics and performance of the device, which equipped with heat pipe as heat source. The experimental results showed that efficiency of circular single evacuated solar collector was higher 2.7 times than that of rectangular solar collector. Furthermore maximum power of 5 watt was obtained when 2 devices with series array were used and it could be more improved by increasing the number of device or measurement time.

This study describes thermal performance of solar cooling and hot water for demonstration system with ETSC(Evacuated tubular solar collector) installed at Seo-gu art center of Kwangju. For demonstration study, a reading room with about 350㎡ was heated and cooled with the solar system. The system was consisted of ETSCs, storage tank, hot water supply tank, subsidiary boiler, subsidiary tank, absorption chiller, chiller storage tank, and cooling tower. The results of the experimental study indicated that the total solar energy gain as daily performance on a sunny day (August 25, 2007) with total daily radiation of $606\;W/m^2$ was 671 kWh, the collecting efficiency of 55%. In the case of supplies to heat source more than $83^{\circ}C$, cooling time operated by solar was driven 8.8 hours, cooling energy generated by solar system was 179 kWh and the solar cooling fraction was 79.2%, and hot water supplied with surplus heat source by the solar system was 201 kWh.
This study describes thermal performance of heating and cooling demonstration system using ETSC(Evacuated tubular solar collector) installed at Seo-gu art center of Kwangju. For demonstration study, a reading room with about $350m^2$ was heated and cooled using that system. The demonstration system was consisted of ETSCs, storage tank, hot water supply tank, subsidiary boiler, and subsidiary tank. From January to March in 2006, demonstration test were performed with 4 control mode to find the optimum control condition for solar thermal system. After experiments and analysis, this study found that solar thermal system of control mode IV was corresponded to 78% for the hot water supply and 49% for space heating.
We have investigated the operating characteristics of $1,600m^2$ large-scale solar thermal system installed in an eco-friendly energy town in Chungbuk Innovation City. The operation criteria of the collecting pump and storage pump were different from the existing standard, and it was confirmed that each pump works well according to the changed criteria. Based on the data of the representative day, the daily collecting heat (efficiency) and the production (storing) heat (efficiency) were estimated. It was confirmed that the daily collecting heat (efficiency) of the flat plate type was higher than that of the evacuated tube type, but the useful heat production was more in evacuated tube type collector.
This study was carried out to evaluate the clear day operating performances for the decentralized desalination system with the solar thermal system and the photovoltaic power system. In a clear day, we used a solar thermal system as heat source of the single-stage fresh water generator with plate-type heat exchangers and a photovoltaic power system as electric source for hydraulic pumps. The demonstration system generation was designed and installed at Jeju-island in 2006. The system was comprised of the desalination unit with daily fresh water capacity designed as $2m^3$, a $120m^3$ evacuated tubular solar collector to supply the heat, a $6m^3$ heat storage tank, and a 5.2kW photovoltaic power generation to supply the electricity of hydraulic pumps for the heat medium fluids. In a clear day, solar irradiance daily averaged was measured $518W/m^3$, the daily fresh water yield showed that about 565 liter.
