  • The purpose of this paper is to construct a new family of the special numbers which are related to the Fubini type numbers and the other well-known special numbers such as the Apostol-Bernoulli numbers, the Frobenius-Euler numbers and the Stirling numbers. We investigate some fundamental properties of these numbers and polynomials. By using generating functions and their functional equations, we derive various formulas and relations related to these numbers and polynomials. In order to compute the values of these numbers and polynomials, we give their recurrence relations. We give combinatorial sums including the Fubini type numbers and the others. Moreover, we give remarks and observation on these numbers and polynomials.

  • In this work, the free vibration problem of a rotating Rayleigh beam is solved using the meshless Petrov-Galerkin method which is a truly meshless method. The Rayleigh beam includes rotatory inertia in addition to Euler-Bernoulli beam theory. The radial basis functions, which satisfy the Kronecker delta property, are used for the interpolation. The essential boundary conditions can be easily applied with radial basis functions. The results are obtained using six nodes within a subdomain. The results accurately match with the published literature. Also, the results with Euler-Bernoulli are obtained to compare the change in higher natural frequencies with change in the slenderness ratio (${\sqrt{A_0R^2/I_0}}$). The mass and stiffness matrices are derived where we get two stiffness matrices for the node and boundary respectively. The non-dimensional form is discussed as well.

  • Dynamics of protein filamentous has been an active area of research since the last few decades as the role of cytoskeletal components, microtubules, intermediate filaments and microfilaments is very important in cell functions. During cell functions, these components undergo the deformations like bending, buckling and vibrations. In the present paper, bending and buckling of microfilaments are studied by using Euler Bernoulli beam theory with nonlocal parametric effects in conjunction. The obtained results show that the nonlocal parametric effects are not ignorable and the applications of nonlocal parameters well agree with the experimental verifications.

  • An incongruity is underlined about the analysis of Timoshenko beams subjected to concentrated loads modelled through the use of generalized functions. While for Euler-Bernoulli beams this modeling always leads to effective results, on the contrary, the contemporary assumptions of concentrated external moment, interpreted as a generalized function (doublet), and of shear deformation determine inconsistent discontinuities in the deflection laws. A physical/theoretical explanation of this not-neglecting incongruity is given in the text.

  • A remarkably large number of integral formulas have been investigated and developed. Certain large number of integral formulas are expressed as derivatives of some known functions. Here we choose to recall such a formula to present explicit expressions in terms of Gamma function, Psi function and Polygamma functions. Some simple interesting special cases of our main formulas are also considered. It is also pointed out that the same argument can establish explicit integral formulas for other those expressed in terms of derivatives of some known functions.

  • In this paper, we discuss the connection between the 5-dimensional complex Lie algebra ${\mathcal{K}} _5$ and Special functions. We construct certain two variable models of the irreducible representations of ${\mathcal{K}}_5$. We also use an Euler type integral transformation to obtain the new transformed models, in which the basis function appears as $_2F_1$. Further, we utilize these models to get some generating functions and recurrence relations.

  • The purpose of this article is to continue the study of q, 𝜔-special functions in the spirit of Wolfgang Hahn from the previous papers by Annaby et al. and Varma et al., with emphasis on q, 𝜔-Apostol Bernoulli and Euler polynomials, Ward-𝜔 numbers and multiple q, 𝜔power sums. Like before, the q, 𝜔-module for the alphabet of q, 𝜔-real numbers plays a crucial role, as well as the q, 𝜔-rational numbers and the Ward-𝜔 numbers. There are many more formulas of this type, and the deep symmetric structure of these formulas is described in detail.

  • The impulse response functions (force-strain relations) for Euler-Bernoulli and Timoshenko beams are considered. The response of a beam to a transverse impact force is numerically obtained with the convolution approach using the impulse response function obtained by Laplace transform. Using this relation, the impact force history is determined in the time domain and results are compared with those from Hertz's contact law. The parameters of timpact force model are identified using the recovered force and compared with the Hertz's contact model. In order to verify the proposed algorithm, measurements were done using an impact hammer and a steel ball drop test and these results are also compared with the simulated values.

  • The Gamma function ${\Gamma}$ which was first introduced b Euler in 1730 has played a very important role in many branches of mathematics, especially, in the theory of special functions, and has been introduced in most of calculus textbooks. In this note, our major aim is to explain the convergence of the Euler's Gamma function expressed as an improper integral by using some elementary properties and a fundamental axiom holding on the set of real numbers $\mathbb{R}$, in a detailed and instructive manner. A brief history and origin of the Gamma function is also considered.
