  • Ethylacrylate에 대한 n-butylmercaptan의 첨가반응속도상수를 iodometry로 측정하여 넓은 pH범위에서 잘 맞는 속도식을 구하였다. 이 식에 의하면 pH 4 이하에서는 n-butylmercaptan분자가 첨가하여 pH 7 이상에서는 n-butylmercaptide ion이 첨가함을 알 수 있고 pH 4∼7 사이에서 일어나는 복잡한 첨가반응 메카니즘도 이 식으로 잘 설명 될 수 있음을 알았다.

  • In the present work, Diels-Alder reaction of cyclopentadiene with ethylacrylate has been carried out by using two types of mesoporous solid acid catalysts (Al-MCM-41, Al-MCM-48) with different pore structures. The specific topology of Al-MCM-48 (cubic Ia3d structure composed of two independent 3-D channel systems) exhibit higher activity and stereo-control than those of Al-MCM-41 (hexagonal packing of 1-D channels). The physical properties of Al-MCM-48 catalyst, such as high accessibility of reactants to the acid sites, spatial confinement in the nanoscopic reactors, and 3-D channel network structure that are effective adsorption and diffusion of reactants, play a crucial role in the present study.

  • The cycloaddition of the newely synthesized 5-(2-thienyl)methylene derivatives of thiazolidinone-4-thiones, 2a-c to acrylonitrile (3a), ethylacrylate (3b), N-phenylmaleimide (6) and dimethyl fumarate (8) has been evaluated. Under thermal reaction conditions [4 +2] cycloaddition proceeds with complete site and regioselectivity to yield the cycloadduct, 4, 5, 7 and 9, respectively. The antimicrobial activities of some of the new products were tested.

  • 폐폴리염화비닐수지(waste Polyvinyl chloride, RPVC)와 폐폴리에틸렌수지(waste polyethylene, RPE)의 블렌드를 용융 혼합으로 제조하였으며 상용화제로서 주쇄는 에틸렌 구조를, 측쇄는 에스터 그룹으로 이루어진 공중합체들을 첨가하여 모폴로지 및 인장특성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. RPVC가 연속상인 조성비 85/15 wt%, 중간조성 50/50 wt%, RPE가 연속상인 조성비 15/85 wt%로 RPVC/RPE의 조성비를 변화시켜 이들 조성비에서의 상용화제의 영향을 조사하였다. 모폴로지 관찰로 볼 때 RPVC/RPE 블렌드는 $10\mu\textrm{m}$ 이상의 도메인 크기를 보여 상용성이 나쁘며 특히 중간조성에서 가장 나쁜 상용성을 나타내었다. 에틸렌비닐아세테이트 공중합체(EVA)와 에틸렌에틸아크릴레이트 메틸메타크릴레이트 그라프트 공중합체 (ethylene ethylacrylate-graft-methyl methacrylate copolymer, EEA-MMA)가 상용화제로서 우수한 결과를 나타내었다.

  • Functionally graded polyurethane elastomers PUEs/grad. Poly(dimethylammoninum ethylacrylate bromide)(PDMAEA) were prepared by the method of electrophoresis. Results of elemental analysis showed that concentration of PDMAEA had gradient across the thickness(2mm) of the base PUEs. The modified PUEs(PUEs/grad. PDMAEA) containing high concentration of PDMAEA displayed low degree of swelling in benzene which was poor solvent for PDMAEA, and high degree of swelling in water which was good solvent. For the each layer of modified PUEs, glass transition temperature, dynamic storage modulus were stooled by DSC, Rheovibron DDV-IIC dynamic viscoelastomer. The chemomechanical properties of modified PUEs was explored by the electric-stimulus.

EEA-VLDPE compound의 $Mg(OH)_2$ 혼합에 의한 난연성 (Anti-Flammability for EEA-VLDPE compound using $Mg(OH)_2$)

  • In order to study the change in mechanical properties and anti-flammablilty of ethylene-ethylacrylate copolymer(EEA) very low density polyethylene(VLDPE) compound that could be used as communication cable sheath using $Mg(OH)_2$ as a non-toxic flame retardant, 100, 125, and 150phr $Mg(OH)_2$ were added to 100 parts of EEA-VLDPE compound, 100 EEA : 0 VLDPE, 50 EEA : 50 VLDPE, and 0 EEA : 100 VLDPE, respectively. $Mg(OH)_2$ was a good non-toxic flame retardant for communication cable sheath and anti-flammability increased with the amount of $Mg(OH)_2$ in compound. The mechanical properties-MI, Ts, and Eb-decreased with increasing in the mixing ratio of EEA but oxygen index(OI) increased with increasing in the amount of EEA. The best composition of $Mg(OH)_2$ in this study was 150phr to 50 EEA : 50 VLDPE compound for the anti-flammability.

Development and Stability Evaluation of Enteric Coated Diclofenac Sodium Tablets Using AquaPolish E.

  • The aim of this study was to develop a stable enteric coated diclofenac sodium (DFS) tablets using Aqua-Polish E without using a subcoat. DFS uncoated tablets were manufactured through the non direct compression process. AquaPolish E white aqueous coating dispersion was used as enteric coating material. This film forming polymer is a mixture of selected polymethacrylic/ethylacrylate copolymers. The stability of the obtained enteric coated tablets was evaluated according to ICH guidelines. No signs of disintegration or cracking was observed when they placed in 0.1N HCl solution (pH1.2), but they were completely disintegrated within 10 minutes when they placed in buffered solution at pH6.8. Dissolution test was also conducted by placing tablets in 0.1 N HCl for 2 hours and then 1 hour in phosphate buffer at pH 6.8. Less than 0.9 % of drug was released in the acidic phase and up to 97% in the basic medium. These findings suggest that aqueous enteric coating with AquaPolish E system is an easy and economical approach for preparing stable DFS enteric coat without the use of a subcoating layer.

선택된 단량체와 가교제에 의한 아크릴고무의 물성 변화에 관한 연구 (A Study on Property Change of Acrylic Rubber by Selected Monomers and Crosslinking Agent)

  • 주단량체로 에틸 아크릴레이트, 부틸 아크릴레이트, 메톡시에틸 아크릴레이트, 가교 단량체로 글리시딜 메타아크릴레이트를 유화중합하여 아크릴고무를 제조한 후, 가교제로써 2,2-bis[4-(4-aminophenoxy)phenyl]propane를 첨가하여 고무컴파운드를 제조하였다. 주단량체의 조성에서 에틸 아크릴레이트의 함량이 증가하면 내열성이 증가하는 경향을 보였는데 이는 아크릴고무의 유리전이온도가 감소되었기 때문이다. 또한 에틸 아크릴레이트의 에스테르 그룹 농도가 3개의 주단량체 중 가장 높기 때문에 에틸 아크릴레이트 함량이 증가할수록 내유성이 향상되었다. 2,2-Bis[4-(4-aminophenoxy)phenyl]propane의 함유량에 따른 영향은 2 phr 첨가까지 인장강도와 신장율은 증가하지만, 그 이상의 첨가에서는 가교밀도의 증가에 따른 점성과 탄성이 감소하여 그 값들이 감소하였다.

Effect of aggregation on shear and elongational flow properties of acrylic thickeners

  • The effect of intermolecular aggregation induced by hydrophobic and electrostatic interactions on shear and elongational flow properties of aqueous acrylic thickener solutions is discussed. Complex shear modulus is determined at frequencies up to $10^4$ rad/s employing oscillatory squeeze flow. Extensional flow behavior is characterized using Capillary Break-up Extensional Rheometry. Aqueous solutions of poly(acrylic acid)(PAA)/poly(vinylpyrrolidone-co-vinylimidazole) (PVP-VI) mixtures exhibit unusual rheological properties described here for the first time. Zero-shear viscosity of the mixtures increases with decreasing pH and can exceed that of the pure polymers in solution by more than two orders of magnitude. This is attributed to the formation of complexes induced by electrostatic interactions in the pH range, where both polymers are oppositely charged. PAA/PVP-VI mixtures are compared to the commercial thickener Sterocoll FD (BASF SE), which is a statistical co-polymer including (meth) acrylic acid and ethylacrylate (EA) forming aggregates in solution due to "sticky" contacts among hydrophobic EA-sequences. PAA/PVP-VI complexes are less compact and more deformable than the hydrophobic Sterocoll FD aggregates. Solutions of PAA/PVP-VI exhibit a higher zero-shear viscosity even at lower molecular weight of the aggregates, but are strongly shear-thinning in contrast to the weakly shear-thinning solutions of Sterocoll FD. The higher ratio of characteristic relaxation times in shear and elongation determined for PAA/PVP-VI compared to Sterocoll FD solutions reflects, that the charge-induced complexes provide a much stronger resistance to extensional flow than the aggregates formed by hydrophobic interactions. This is most likely due to a break-up of the latter in extensional flow, while there is no evidence for a break-up of complexes for PAA/PVP-VI mixtures. These flexible aggregates are more suitable for the stabilization of thin filaments in extensional flows.

새로운 Acyclonucloside의 합성 : 새로운 $N_1$-Substituted 5-Fluorouracil 유도체의 합성과 그 특성에 관한 연구 (Synthesis of Novel Acyclonuclosides : Study on the Synthesis and Characteristics of New $N_1$-Substituted 5-Fluorouracil)

  • 합성된 2-chloroethyl acrylate를 출발물질로 이용하여 5-fluorouracil의 $N_1$-위치에 각각 hydroxyethyl, acryloyloxyethyl, poly(acryloyloxyethyl)기를 가진 5-fluorouracil 유도체를 높은 수율로 얻었다. 이들 유도체들과 HCl과의 가수분해속도를 물-에탄올(1:1) 혼합용매에서 UV 분광기를 이용하여 측정하였다. 1-hydroxyethyl-5-fluorouracil, 1-acryloyloxyethyl-5-fluorouracil 및 Poly(1-acryloyloxyethyl-5-fluorouracil)의 가수분해속도는 각각 $k=1.38{\times}10^{-4}$sec, $9.25{\times}10^{-5}$/sec, $4.16{\times}10^{-5}$/sec 이었다. 또한, 합성된 5-fluorouracil 유도체의 열분해성에 대해 논의하였다.
