Power Estimation by Using Testability (테스트 용이도를 이용한 전력소모 예측)

  • With the increase of portable system and high-density IC, power consumption of VLSI circuits is very important factor in design process. Power estimation is required in order to estimate the power consumption. A simple and correct solution of power estimation is to use circuit simulation. But it is very time consuming and inefficient way. Probabilistic method has been proposed to overcome this problem. Transition density using probability was an efficient method to estimate power consumption using BDD and Boolean difference. But it is difficult to build the BDD and compute complex Boolean difference. In this paper, we proposed Propowest. Propowest is building a digraph of circuit, and easy and fast in computing transition density by using modified COP algorithm. Propowest provides an efficient way for power estimation.

  • This paper presents a DFT (Discrete Fourier Transform) based estimation algorithm for the parameters of a low-frequency oscillating signal. The proposed method estimates the parameters, i.e., the frequency, the damping factor, the mode amplitude, and the phase, by fitting a discrete Fourier spectrum with an exponentially damped cosine function. Parameter estimation algorithms that consider the spectrum leakage of the discrete Fourier spectrum are introduced. The multi-domain mode test functions are tested in order to verify the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method. The results show that the proposed algorithms are highly applicable to the practical computation of low-frequency parameter estimations based on DFTs.

  • In rural planning, the cost estimation of project is a key factor for planning. Therefore, development of reliable cost estimation method is essential. Recently, new techniques are suggested for determination of project cost using historical cost data. In this study, a multiple-regression analysis was used to determine the cost of the farm land consolidation. The results demonstrated that multiple regression analysis using historical cost data can be applicable to project cost estimation.

  • Recently, according to the increase of income and development of quality of life, the leisure industry has been developed. In particular, the interest of design and manufacture technology of leisure yacht has significantly increased. However, domestic market of leisure ships is currently in its initiating stage. So research and development for structural strength of leisure yacht need to be investigated. In this study, lug of yacht's mast which is known for a critical damage region is explicitly considered. This paper deals with the estimation of stress concentration factors (SCFs) for lug of yacht's mast depending on dimensions of lug using hot spot stress. Also, SCF formulae is suggested using parametric study.

  • This study is performed to investigate the influence of aggregate factor on the estimation of water content in fresh concrete. According to the results, water content is estimated higher in the case of basalt and granite aggregate than in the case of limestone because absorption water ratio of basalt and granite is large. As the replacement ratio of recycled aggregate increases, water content is estimated higher. But, after correcting absorption water ratio of aggregate, estimated water content is similar to mixture water content. Therefore, it is important to know the absorption water ratio of aggregates accurately, to estimate water content.

  • Methods for estimation of the effective stress intensity factor range (${\Delta}K_{eff}$) are evaluated for narrow and wide band random loading crack growth test data of 2024-T351 aluminum alloy. Three methods of determining $K_{op}$, visual measurement, ASTM offset compliance method, and the neural network method proposed by Kang and Song, and three methods of estimating ${\Delta}K_{eff}$, conventional, the 2/PI0 and 2/PI methods proposed by Donald and Paris, are compared in a quantitative manner by using the results of fatigue crack growth life prediction under random loading. For all $K_{op}$ determination methods discussed, the 2/PI0 and 2/PI methods of estimating ${\Delta}K_{eff}$ provide better results than conventional method for narrow and wide band random loading data.

  • Recently, the development project is conducting disaster effect estimation to breed disaster, and cope these disaster beforehand provoking soil erosion and flood. Therefore, it is became important to analysis and reduce of these disaster. In this study, receive value of LS and C factor of soil erosion through the digital image. The method of photogrammetry was employed for the efficient surveying and analysis of cutting slope using Remote Control Helicopter installed with a nonmetric digital camera. As a result, we obtain more objectivity value of soil erosion factor using digital image analysis.

Fatigue Life and Peneration Behaviour of Material under Combined Tension and Bending Stress (인장 굽힘피로를 받는 부재의 피로수명과 균열관통)

  • The leak-before-break(LBB) design on the large structures such as ship's hull, tank structure, pressure vessels etc. is one of the most inportant subjects for the evaluation and the assurance of safety. In these structures, various loads are acting. In some structural members, therefore, out-of-plane stress due to bending often may become with in-plane stress due to stretching. In the present report, the characteristics of fatigue life and peneration behaviour from a surface cracked plate under combined tension and bending have been studied experimentally and analytically by using eccentricity. Estimation of fatigue crack growth was done with the Newman-Raju formula before penetration, and with the stress intensity factor after penetration proposed by the author. Calculated aspect ratio showed the good agreement with the experimental result. It was also found that particular crack growth behaviour and crack shape after penetration can be satisfactorily evaluated using the K solution proposed.

  • In this paper, direct power control system for three-phase PWM AC/DC converter without the source voltage sensors is proposed. The sinusoidal input current and unity effective power factor are realised based on the estimated flux in the observer. Both active and reactive power calculated using estimated flux. The estimation of flux is performed based on the Reduced-order flux observer using the actual currents and the command control voltage. The source voltage sensors are replaced by a flux estimator. The active and reactive powers estimation are performed based on the estimated flux and Phase anble. The proposed algorithm is verified through simulation and experiment.

  • Soil volume conversion factors are used for estimation of an excavated the soil volume which will be removed or added in levelling the ground surface of a construction site. An accurate evaluation method will help us reduce a construction cost and time consuming. In this study, we performed the laboratory tests, including grain size measurement, water content, specific gravity, porosity, density and XRD tests, to suggest reliable soil volume conversion factors and weathering indices in field using nondestructive methods. The weathering index and soil volume conversion factor L are obtained for different types of soils. At results, the CIW index is the best method measuring the weathering index and the factor L is relative to natural porosity, void ratio, density and dry density.
