구면 모델링 모드를 통한 깊이 화면 예측 방법 (Prediction Method for Depth Picture through Spherical Modeling Mode)

  • In this paper, an prediction method is proposed for coding of depth pictures using spherical modeling. An spherical surface which has the least error from original depth values is modeled in a block. Pixels in the block are predicted through the parameters of the modeled spherical surface. Simulation results show that average prediction errors and entropy powers are improved to 30% and 200% comparing to the intra prediction of H.264/AVC, selection ratios of the proposed spherical modeling mode is more than 25%.

  • 소나 센서부 설계 시 개별 센서에 대한 정합회로의 설계는 전체 가중회로의 특성에 매우 큰 영향을 미친다. 그러나 많은 경우 정합회로를 설계하는데 있어서 경험에 의한 수작업으로 수행하거나 매우 간단한 모델을 설정하여 그것을 바탕으로 설계하는 예가 많다. 다양한 센서에 대해서 유연하게 대응하는데 한계를 갖고 있고 또 많은 오류를 동반하기 때문에 정합회로 설계에 많은 시행착오를 초래한다. 본 연구에서는 다양한 센서에 유연하게 대응하는 정합회로 설계 도구를 구성하는 첫 단계로써 실제 소나 센서의 특성 측정 및 그를 바탕으로 한 소자 모델링을 일괄 작업화한 설계 프로그램을 구성하여, 그 구성과 기능에 대해서 설명하고자 한다.

대형 풍력발전용 복합재료 블레이드의 개선된 등가 모델링 기법 (Improved Equivalent Beam Element Modeling Technique for Large Scale Wind-Turbine Composite Blade)

  • In this study, we have introduced an improved equivalent modeling technique for large scale composite wind-turbine blade. Conventional or general equivalent modeling procedure may give critical error in the analysis results because of geometric coupling effects. For the analyses of structural vibration and aeroelastic problems, the accuracy of equivalent structural models is very important since it can have high numerical efficiency and various practical applications. Three-dimensional realistic composite wind-turbine blade model is practically considered for numerical study. In order to validate the effect of the mass and the stiffness of the equivalent beam model, comparison study based on the natural vibration analysis has been conducted, and the accuracy levels of the conventional and modified equivalent modeling techniques are presented.

  • Geometry control of precast members is the most important technology for modular construction. In this paper, image-based modeling and rendering (IBMR) technology was adopted for 3D modeling of precast elements. It is necessary to use match-casting method for precast post-tensioned column assembly. Preassembly using 3D models created by image processing can minimize construction error. Augmented reality devices are used to check the geometry of the segment. Laboratory-scale tests were performed. The proposed process has been applied to the real precast bridge pier segments.

  • According to the recent increase of demands for multi-function and economics on hydraulic excavator, it is required that excavator should have simple operation, higher and operational efficiency, however the modeling of engine/pump system of excavator is not prescribed by the paper. So, in this paper the modeling of engine/pump system of excavator is suggested by identification method from step response and verified effectiveness of identification system by comparing with experimental results which was conducted using PID controller. To improve the problem of parameter variation and modeling error in the system, sliding mode control was introduced and new switching surface was designed. This control algorithm was applied to a hydraulic excavator by simulation, and its effectiveness was verified, and the results of variable structure system for the excavator system using a output component was compared with that of full state feedback when load disturbances and system paramenter variation exist.

  • The accumulated know-how and trial-and-error procedures are known as the best ways to determine blank shape and dimensions. One of the most important steps to determine the blank shape and dimensions in deep drawing process is to calculate the surface area of the product. In general, the surface area of products is calculated by mathematical or 3-D modeling methods. A blank design system is constructed for elliptical deep drawing products to recognize the geometry of the product in the long side and short side by drafting in another two layers on AutoCAD software. This system consists of input geometry recognition module, 3-D modeling module and blank design module, respectively. Blank dimension of three types is determined by the same area, which was acquired in 3-D modeling module. The suitability of this system is verified by applying to a real deep drawing product.

  • In an active noise control(ANC) system using the Filtered-X least mean square(LMS) algorithm, the online secondary path modeling method by exploiting a random noise generator is applied. This method is suitable for secondary path modeling. However, it is increased the residual error of the ANC system. In this paper, we presents an ANC system improved online secondary path modeling method which is modified Kuo and Zhang model that is the secondary path estimation by the additive noise. In addition, our proposed model is used that additive noise is transformed into the signal multiplied reference signal by gain control parameter and delayed.

  • Models of the deposition heights in the uncontrolled laser aided direct metal deposition process are constructed for the enhancement of the process integrity. Linear and non-linear statistical models as well as fuzzy model are utilized as the modeling methods. The predictability of the models are evaluated with the values of the sum of square error. The algorithm to use the models in the feedback controlled system is suggested to increase the deposition height accuracy within a layer.

토폴로지와 수치적 정확도를 통합한 기하모델링에 관한 연구: 곡면간 교차선 (A Study on Unifying Topology and Numerical Accuracy in Geometric Modeling: Surface to Surface Intersections)

  • In this paper, we address the problem of robust geometric modeling with emphasis on surface to surface intersections. We consider the topology and the numerical accuracy of an intersection curve to find the best approximation to the exact one. First, we perform the topological configuration of intersection curves, from which we determine the starting and ending points of each monotonic intersection curve segment along with its topological structure. Next, we trace each monotonic intersection curve segment using a validated ODE solver, which provides the error bounds containing the topological structure of the intersection curve and enclosing the exact root without a numerical instance. Then, we choose one approximation curve and adjust it within the bounds by minimizing an objective function measuring the errors from the exact one. Using this process, we can obtain an approximate intersection curve which considers the topology and the numerical accuracy for robust geometric modeling.

시동기의 정 출력 시동 기법에 의한 마이크로터빈 시동 구간의 운전 시뮬레이터 개발 (Simulator for a Micro-Turbine during Start-up by Constant Power Output Motoring Method using Starter)

  • This paper presents the simulator for dynamic modeling of a MT(micro turbine) during start-up period. The simulator is implemented by modeling a dynamic power of main components of a MT including compressor, combustor and turbine. A modeling for a MT under steady state operation can be accurately built from thermodynamics analysis. But dynamic modeling during start-up period is very difficult because efficiency of main components is very low and the designed value has big error and nonlinear characteristics during start-up. In this paper, new method without using thermodynamics analysis during start-up is proposed for the simulator. The power models of main components are derived from analysis of the experimental operation data by test motoring using a electric starter under constant power output. The simulator is developed using MATLAB/Simulink. For constant power output control, sensorless vector inverter is designed and algorithms for starting from stall and method for controling a output power are proposed. The performance of developed simulator is verified by comparing experimental and simulation start-up results.
