Embedded System for Automatic Condensation Control of the Car

  • In this study, we designed an embedded system for automatic condensation control(ESCC) of the car. This system heats the car glasses as and when it is needed that makes driving safer and convenient. The system was built on an ATmega128L central processing unit(CPU), using high-performance electrically erasable programmable read-only memory(EEPROM) complex programmable logic device(CPLD) ATF1504AS, using which an ESCC algorithm has been proposed. The source code was written in C language. The algorithm of work was written using the dew-point table. This system not only clears the condensation on the glass but also averts condensation. The designed ESCC system begins working once the input information comes close to the dew-point table information. This device enables a wider field of view, thereby increasing safety.

  • In this paper, a controller design for brushless linear motor is implemented. The designed controller is mainly composed of current, speed and position controller, which are carried out by the high-speed digital signal processor (DSP). In addition the PWM inverter is controlled by space voltage PWM method. This system is implemented by using 32-bit DSP (TMS320C31), a high-integrated logic device (EPM7192), and IPM (Intelligent Power Module) for compact and powerful system design. The experimental results show the effective performance of controller for the brushless linear motor.

  • In this paper, a controller for the linear motor with high speed and stiffness is implemented using SERCOS interface which is a real time communication protocol between the numerical controller(NC) and the motor driver. The proposed controller is mainly composed of current, speed, and position controller, which are designed using the 32-bit DSP(TMS320C31), a high-integrated logic device (EPM7128), and Intelligent Power Module(IPM) to enhance reliability and compactness of the system. The experimental results show the effective performance of the proposed controller for he linear motor with high speed and stiffness.

ONO Ruptures Caused by ONO Implantation in a SONOS Non-Volatile Memory Device

  • The oxide-nitride-oxide (ONO) deposition process was added to the beginning of a 0.25 ${\mu}m$ embedded polysiliconoxide-nitride-oxide-silicon (SONOS) process before all of the logic well implantation processes in order to maintain the characteristics of basic CMOS(complementary metal-oxide semiconductor) logic technology. The system subsequently suffered severe ONO rupture failure. The damage was caused by the ONO implantation and was responsible for the ONO rupture failure in the embedded SONOS process. Furthermore, based on the experimental results as well as an implanted ion's energy loss model, processes primarily producing permanent displacement damages responsible for the ONO rupture failure were investigated for the embedded SONOS process.

  • A dimmable ballast system for the electrodeless fluorescent lamp is proposed. The proposed scheme is composed of the electronic ballast and the wireless communication part. They both are realized with one EPLD (Erasable Programmable Logic Device). The dimming levels of each lamps can be controlled by a management system through wireless communication technology. 10 ballasts are used for the group lighting system and the experiment results show the system works well.

  • 본 논문에서는 실시간 데이터 및 보안데이터, 영상데이터 통을 전송할 때 잡음으로 인해 발생되는 데이터 오류를 효과적으로 복원하기 위해 오류 정정 능력이 뛰어난 터보코드를 적응하여 신뢰성 있는 영상전송 시스템을 실현하였다. 영상처리 시스템에서는 CCTV, 비디오 카메라 등에서 나오는 NTSC(National Television System Committee) 영상 신호를 비디오 디코더를 통해 A/D 변환하여 출력하였다. 변환된 디지털 영상정보는 두 개의 영상필드로 출력되며 그중 하나의 필드가 선택되는 알고리즘을 EPLD(Erasable Programmable Logic Device) 로직회로로 구성하여 디지털 영상 데이터를 절반으로 줄이는 시스템을 구현하였다. 터보코드의 부호기, 복호기 시스템에서는 실수연산이 가능한 DSP(Digital Signal Processor)를 사용하여 터보코드를 구현하였으며, 터보코드의 성능을 좌우하는 인터리버부분은 블록 인터리버를 적용하여 설계하였다.

  • Nowadays, various speech processing systems are being introduced in the fields of robotics. However, real-time processing and high performances are required to properly implement speech processing system for the autonomous robots. Achieving these goals requires advanced hardware techniques including intelligent software algorithms. For example, we need nonlinear amplifier boards which are able to adjust the compression radio (CR) via computer programming. And the necessity for noise reduction, double-buffering on EPLD (Erasable programmable logic device), simultaneous multi-channel AD conversion, distant sound localization will be explained in this paper. These ideas can be used to improve distant and omni-directional speech recognition. This speech processing system, based on embedded Linux system, is supposed to be mounted on the new home service robot, which is being developed at KIST (Korea Institute of Science and Technology)

  • 캐쉬 메모리 시스템의 성능 측정 방법으로 이제까지 널리 사용되고 있는 방법이 트레이스 구동 시뮬레이션이다. 트레이스 구동 시뮬레이션의 정확성은 사용하는 트레이스의 크기, 포함된 정보의 종류 등에 의해서 크게 영향을 받는다. 이에 따라 보다 정확한 트레이스를 생성하기 위해 많은 방법들이 제안되었으며 그 중 하드웨어 모니터링 기법에 의해서 얻어진 트레이스는 응용 프로그램의 메모리 참조에 대한 정보뿐만 아니라, 문맥교환이나 시스템 프로그램의 메모리 참조에 대한 정보, 메모리 참조가 발생한 시간 정보 등을 가진다는 장점을 갖는다. 그러나 하드웨어 모니터링 시스템은 트레이스를 생성하기 위한 시스템에 따라서 설계가 변화되어야 하는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 하드웨어 모니터링 시스템의 단점을 완화하기 위해서 EPLD(Erasable Programmable Logic Device)를 사용하여 트레이스 생성 시스템을 구성하여, 보다 간단한 수정으로 여러 시스템에서 트레이스 생성이 가능한 하드웨어 시스템을 설계하였다. 또한 제작된 트레이스 생성 시스템은 66Mhz의 고속 버스 시스템에서 동작할 수 있는 특징을 갖는다.
