  • Some abnormal signals diagnostics and analysis through an important equivalent circuits modeling for passive elements under severe accident conditions have been performed. Unlike the design basis accidents, there are inherently some uncertainties in the instrumentation capabilities under the accident conditions. So, the circuit simulation analysis and diagnosis methods are used to assess instruments in detail when they give apparently abnormal readings as an accident alternative method. The simulations can be useful to investigate what the signal and circuit characteristics would be when similar to a variety of symptoms that can result from the environmental conditions such as high temperature, humidity, and pressure condition. In this paper, a new simulator through an analysis of the important equivalent circuits modeling under temperature accident conditions has been designed, the designed simulator is composed of the LabVIEW code as a main tool and the out-put file of the Multi-SIM code as an engine tool is exported to in-put file of the LabVIEW code. The procedure for the simulator design was divided into two design steps, of which the first step was the diagnosis method, the second step was the circuit simulator for the signal processing tool. It has three main functions which are a signal processing tool, an accident management tool, and an additional guide from the initial screen. This simulator should be possible that it could be applied a output signal analysis to some transient signal by variation of the resistance passive elements in the R-L-C equivalent circuit modeling under various degraded conditions in NPPs.

펄스파워용 고전압 커패시터 등가직렬 임피던스 측정에 관한 연구 (Study on Measurement Technology for Equivalent Series Impedance of High-voltage Pulsed Power Capacitors)

  • Equivalent series impedance of high-voltage pulsed power capacitor is one of the important electrical characteristics both for users and for capacitor manufacturers because it may have serious effects on the performance of pulse forming circuits. In this paper, definition of equivalent series impedance and factors which generate equivalent series impedance are reviewed. Theoretical analysis for the calculation of equivalent series impedance based on differential measurement method is described and calculation program has been developed. In order to acquire data which are necessary to calculate equivalent series impedance from discharging current waveform, charging-dischargig controller has been manufactured. Measurement results of equivalent series impedance for high voltage pulsed power capacitor have been given.

  • The LTCC bandpass filter using multilayer resonators is made of combline type and interdigital type parallel coupled-lines. The equivalent circuits of parallel coupled-lines are analysed. They are applied to make an equivalent circuit of LTCC bandpass filter using multilayer resonators. The 3-pole bandpass filter of the center frequency of 2.45GHz with 200Hz bandwidth is designed and fabricated. The simulated result of the bandpass filter are presented.

  • 본 논문에서는 V[S(voltage inverter switch)를 사용한 SCF(switched capacitor filler)에 있어서 VIS의 비이상적인 동작이 여파기 특성에 미치는 영향을 여파기를 구성하는 각 소자들의 변화로써 분석하는 방법을 제시하였다. 또 위의 결과를 VIS가 없는 SCF의 경우에 응용함으로써 대부분의 SC(switched cavacito.) 회로를 쌍일차(bilinear) 변환된 영역에서 그 등가각로를 쉽게 구할 수 있어 SCF의 분석이 용이하고, 높은동작 주파수를 갖는 SCF를 적은 수의 능동 소자로 구현할 수 있는 방법에 대해 기술하였다. 그리고 저역 통과 여파기와 대역 저지 여파기를 실험하여 그 결과가 이론치와 잘 일치함을 보였다.

Generalized Stability Criterion for Multi-module Distributed DC System

  • The stability issues of a multi-module distributed DC power system without current-sharing loop are analyzed in this study. The physical understanding of the terminal characteristics of each sub-module is focused on. All the modules are divided into two groups based on the different terminal property types, namely, impedance (Z) and admittance (Y) types. The equivalent circuits of each group are established to analyze the stability issues, and the mathematical equations of the equivalent circuits are derived. A generalized criterion for multi-module distributed systems is proposed based on the stability criterion in a cascade system. The proposed criterion is independent of the power flow direction.

  • Mathematical singularities of circuit equations with three-phase ideal transformer connections are studied. Three-wired wye-wye connections, delta-delta connections, and primary four-wired wye-delta connections are singular. The matrices of their circuit equations have zeros in their eigenvalues. Three-wired wye-delta connections, wye-wye-delta connections, and primary four-wired wye-wye connections are not singular. The physical meaning of their singularities is that they are sensitive and prone to be ill-conditioned. Equivalent shunt admittances representing ion losses and magnetizing inductances make the singular matrices non-singular in wye-connected circuits. And, equivalent series impedances representing copper losses and leakage inductances make the singular matrices non-singular in delta-connected circuits. The tableau analysis is used for the study.

  • Because conventional switching converters have been usually using unbalanced circuit topologies, parasitic capacitance between the drain/collector of an active switch and the frame ground through its heat sink may generate the common-mode conducted noise. We have proposed a balanced switching converter circuit, which is an effective way to reduce the common-mode conducted noise. As an example, a boost converter version of the balanced switching converter was presented and the mechanism of the common-mode noise reduction was explained using equivalent circuits. This paper extends the concept of the balanced switching converter circuit and presents a buck-boost converter version of the balanced switching converter. The feature of common-mode noise reduction is confirmed by experimental results and the mechanism of the common-mode noise reduction is explained using equivalent circuits.

Coupled Line Phase Shifters and Its Equivalent Phase Delay Line for Compact Broadband Phased Array Antenna Applications

  • Novel coupled line phase shifters and its equivalent phase delay line for compact broadband phased array antennas are proposed. These phase control circuits are designed to be less complex, small size and to use a less number of active devices. The phase shifter is able to control a 120$^{\circ}$ phase shift continuously, and the phase delay line for a reference phase has a fixed 60$^{\circ}$ shifted phase. Both have the low phase error of less than $\pm$3.5$^{\circ}$ and the low gain variations of less than 1 ㏈ within the 300 MHz bandwidth. These proposed circuits are adequate to form the efficient beam-forming networks with compactness, broadband, less complexity, and low cost.

고온초전도체를 이용한 마이크로파 전력분배기의 소형화 개발 (Miniaturized Development of Microwave Power Divider Using High-Tc Superconductors)

  • In this paper, We report the miniaturization of superconducting microwave power dividers based on lumped element equivalent circuits. To do this, we analyzed a conventional branch-type power divider by using an ABCD matrix under even and odd mode excitation. Then, we calculated each lumped element impedance throughout this analysis of a transmission line matrix. Also we simulated our equivalent circuits made of lumped elements by using a full wave analysis, em Sonnet. Our deign of microwave power divider based on simulated results was fabricated on high-$T_c$ superconducting thin films deposited on MgO substrate. Experimental results were reported in terms of bandwidth, center frequency, and phase difference between $S_{21}$ and $S_{31}$. We confirm that our design will be useful in the future microwave power systum.
