  • HDTV의 다음세대 TV로서 주목받고 있는 3D TV의 구현을 위한 주요 기술중 보는이의 시점에 해당하는 영상을 보여주는 다시점 입체영상표시가 중요한 연구대상으로 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 다시점 입체영상표시를 구현하기 위한 기존방법들의 문제점으로 지적되는 많은 연산량 문제를 해결할 수 있는 새로운 알고리즘을 제안한다. 다시점 영상모음을 영상 공간축에서 을로 다운 샘플링(down sampling )하여 다해상도 영상 피라미드를 만들고, 이를 바탕으로 저해상도 EPI에서부터 대응점들을 탐색하고, 그에 해당하는 상위 해상도에서는 하위 해상도에서 탐색한 결과를 확인·교정해 가는 방법을 사용하므로써, 기존의 방법보다 고속처리가 가능하며, 잡음에도 강인한 기법을 제안한다.

LED 램프 패키지 설계를 위한 기본 지침 (Basic Design Guidelines for LED Lamp Packages)

  • 현재까지 더 좋은 성능의 LED 램프 패키지 구조의 개발을 위해 많은 연구가 진행되어 왔음에도 불구하고 아직 LED 램프 패키지 설계에 관한 표준화된 이론이나 지침 같은 것들이 마련되지 못한 것으로 판단된다. 이에 본 논문에서는 먼저 Monte Carlo photon simulation 기법을 이용하여 InGaN/Sapphire LED의 칩 구조 및 Epi-up 혹은 Epi-down 칩 부착 방식을 광추출효율 관점에서 분석하였다. 그리고 분석결과를 바탕으로 LED 램프 패키지 설계에 관한 기본 지침을 마련하였다. 이와 같이 마련된 설계지침은 관련 기업이나 연구기관에서, LED 램프의 구체적 응용분야에 따라 최적화된 패키지 구조를 설계하는 데에 중요하게 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Schedule-Dependent Effects of Kappa-Selenocarrageenan in Combination with Epirubicin on Hepatocellular Carcinoma

  • Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has a relatively higher incidence in many countries of Asia. Globally, HCC has a high fatality rate and short survival. Epirubicin, a doxorubicin analogue, may be administered alone or in combination with other agents to treat primary liver cancer and metastatic diseases. However, the toxic effects of epirubicin to normal tissues and cells have been one of the major obstacles to successful cancer chemotherapy. Here, we investigated the effects of epirubicin in combination with kappa-selenocarrageenan on mice with H22 implanted tumors and HepG-2 cell proliferation, immune organ index, morphology, cell cycle and related protein expressions in vivo and in vitro with sequential drug exposure. The inhibitory rate of tumor growth in vivo was calculated. Drug sensitivity was measured by MTT assay, and the King's principle was used to evaluate the interaction of drug combination. Morphological changes were observed by fluorescent microscopy. Cell cycle changes were analyzed by flow cytometry. Expression of cyclin A, Cdc25A and Cdk2 were detected by Western blotting. In vivo results demonstrated that the inhibitory rate of EPI combined with KSC was higher than that of KSC or EPI alone, and the Q value indicated an additive effect. In addition, KSC could significantly raise the thymus and spleen indices of mice with H22 implanted tumors. In the drug sensitivity assay in vitro, exposure to KSC and EPI simultaneously was more effective than exposure sequentially in HepG-2 cells, while exposure to KSC prior to EPI was more effective than exposure to EPI prior to KSC. Q values showed an additive effect in the simultaneous group and antagonistic effects in the sequential groups. Morphological analysis showed similar results to the drug sensitivity assay. Cell cycle analysis revealed that exposure to KSC or EPI alone arrested the cells in S phase in HepG-2 cells, exposure to KSC and EPI simultaneously caused accumulation in the S phase, an effect caused by either KSC or EPI. Expression of cyclin A, Cdc25A and Cdk2 protein was down-regulated following exposure to KSC and EPI alone or in combination, exposure to KSC and EPI simultaneously resulting in the lowest values. Taken together, our findings suggest that KSC in combination with EPI might have potential as a new therapeutic regimen against HCC.

InGaN LED에서 칩 구조 및 칩마운트 구조에 따른 광추출효율에 관한 연구 (Photon Extraction Efficiency in InGaN Light-emitting Diodes Depending on Chip Structures and Chip-mount Schemes)

  • InGaN LED에서 칩 구조 및 칩마운트 구조에 따른 광추출효율의 변화를 Monte Calo 기법을 이용하여 해석하였다. Simulation을 통해 얻은 중요한 결론의 하나는, InGaAlP 또는 InGaN/SiC LED의 경우에서는 달리, InGaN/sapphire LED의 경우 칩의 측 벽면 기울임 기법의 광추출효율 개선효과가 상대적으로 미미하다는 점이다. InGaN/SiC LED의 경우와는 달리, 기판으로 사용되는 sapphire의 굴절률이 상대적으로 작아서 생성된 광자들이 기판으로 넘어가는데 전반사장벽을 만나게 되어, 많은 광자들이 기판으로 넘어가지 못하고 두께가 매우 얇은 반도체 결정층에 갇히는 현상 때문이다. 동일한 현상은 epi-down 구조의 칩 마운트에서 광추출효율이 크게 개선되지 못하는 원인으로도 작용하게 된다. 광추출효율 관점에서의 epi-down 구조의 InGaN/sapphire LED가 갖고 있는 잠재력을 살리기 위한 방법의 하나는 기판-에피택시 계면을 texturing 하는 것이라고 할 수 있는데, 이 경우 생성된 광자들이 다량기판으로 넘어갈 수 있게 되어 광추출효율이 현저하게 개선된다.

PSALI 연구를 위한 실물대 실험 장치와 축소 모형간의 유의성 검증 (Verification of Significancebetween Experiment Devices and Scaled-down Model for the Study of PSALI)

  • PSALI is referred to the supplementary lighting for the interior lighting under the daily lighting situation, and pursuant to the pertinent regulations in energy savings design standard and others in recent architecture works, the importance thereof has been increasing gradually coupled with the energy performance index (EPI), energy savings plan and the like as well as expansion of submittal and implementation policies. However, this type of PSALI studies indeed have a number of limitations since it has surrounding environmental conditions in direction, season, region, climate, time, opening rate, window area ratio, actual index, reflection rate of finishing materials and others in the architecture work as well as frequent changes in interior lighting environment for variables in daily light volume flowing into the interior, and others. Therefore, this study has analyzed existing advance research cases to produce the actual-sized model and scaled-down model, and installed the artificial lighting of LED light source possible to reproduce with same capability on both models. As a result of comparison and analysis of the artificial lighting with the key light, it has certain level of error rate from the scaled down lighting device in certain rate and actual model butit was noticeably significant within specific scope.

  • 지난 10여 년 동안 MOSFET는 전력감소, 도핑농도 증가, 캐리어 속도 증가를 위해서 많은 변화를 가져왔다. 이러한 변화를 받아들이기 위해서, 채널의 길이와 공급되어지는 전압이 감소해야만했으며, 그것으로 인해 소자가 더욱 작아지게 되었다. 그러므로 본 논문은 이러한 변화를 위해 채널의 길이와 전압에 의한 MOSFET 구조에서의 변화를 관찰하고, 드레인과 게이트 사이에서의 임팩트 이온화의 변화를 관찰하였다. 본 논문은 세 가지의 모델 즉, conventional MOSFET와 LDD(lightly doped drain) MOSFET, EPI MOSFET을 제시하였다. 게이트 길이는 0.15um, 0.075um을 사용하였고, 스케일링계수는 λ = 2를 사용하였다 스케일링방법은 Constant-Voltage 스케일링으로 하였고, TCAD를 사용하여, 스케일링에 의한 MOSFET의 특성과 임팩트 이온화, 전계를 비교 분석하였으며, 최적의 채널과 도필 농도에 대하여 분석하였다.

노화 시계를 이용한 알츠하이머병 환자의 후성유전학적 연령 예측 (Epigenetic Age Prediction of Alzheimer's Disease Patients Using the Aging Clock)

  • Human body ages differently due to environmental, genetic and pathological factors. DNA methylation patterns also differs depending on various factors such as aging and several other diseases. The aging clock model, which uses these differences to predict age, analyzes DNA methylation patterns, recognizes age-specific patterns, predicts age, and grasps the speed and degree of aging. Aging occurs in everyone and causes various problems such as deterioration of physical ability and complications. Alzheimer's disease is a disease associated with aging and the most common brain degenerative disease. This disease causes various cognitive functions disabilities such as dementia and impaired judgment to motor functions, making daily life impossible. It has been reported that the incidence and progression of this disease increase with aging, and that increased phosphorylation of Aβ and tau proteins, which are overexpressed in this disease and accelerates epigenetic aging. It has also been reported that DNA methylation is significantly increased in the hippocampus and entorhinal cortex of Alzheimer's disease patients. Therefore, we calculated the biological age using the Epi clock, a pan-tissue aging clock model, and confirmed that the epigenetic age of patients suffering from Alzheimer's disease is lower than their actual age. Also, it was confirmed to slow down aging.

개의 췌장적출이 혈청 Trypsin-like Immunoreacitivity (TLI)에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Pancreatectomy on Serum Trypsin-like Immunoreactivity (TLI) in Dogs)

  • Depending on the degree of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, there are inconsistent values in the serum trypsin-like immunoreactivity (TLI), hematology, and serology. To determine the correlation between those values and complete pancreatic insufficiency, 10 pancreatectomized dogs as the treated group and 10 sham operation dogs as control group were used. The entire treated group showed significant decrease in serum TLI level from 2.63$\pm$0.20 ng/ml (day 0) to 1.81$\pm$0.43 ng/ml at day 1 after the pancreatectomy (p<0.05) and the decline maintained till the end of the experiment. Blood glucose level gradually increased, but albumin level showed significant decrease (p<0.05) at day 1 and maintained the decline. Three clinical signs were observed such as depression, vomiting, and diarrhea. The entire treated group showed diarrhea throughout the experiment, but depression and vomiting were gradually diminished. The activity of serum alkaline phosphatase in the treated group increased till day 2 then decreased, on the other hand, control group showed continuous increase till day 4, and then decreased. Only experimental group showed the increased alanine aminotransferase activity at day 1. Serum lipase activity in the treated group jumped up at day 1 and then dropped down, which was even lower than the control. Regarding serum amlyase activity gradually decreased. According to these results, the assay of trypsin-like immunoreactivity showed the consistent result, so it suggests that TLI is an useful tool to determine the pancreatic exocrine function and possible diagnosis of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency compared to the simple assay of plasma amylase and lipase.

AlInGaN - based multiple quantum well laser diodes for Blu-ray Disc application

  • We developed 30 ㎽-AlInGaN based violet laser diodes. The fabrication procedures of the laser diodes are described as follows. Firstly, GaN layers having very low defect density were grown on sapphire substrates by lateral epitaxial overgrowth method. The typical dislocation density was about 1-3$\times$10$^{6}$ /$\textrm{cm}^2$ at the wing region. Secondly, AlInGaN laser structures were grown on LEO-GaN/sapphire substrates by MOCVD. UV activation method, instead of conventional annealing, was conducted to achieve good p-type conduction. Thirdly, ridge stripe laser structures were fabricated. The cavity mirrors were formed by cleaving method. Three pairs of SiO$_2$ and TiO$_2$ layers were deposited on the rear facet for mirror coating. Lastly, laser diode chips were mounted on AlN submount wafers by epi-down bonding method. The lifetime of the laser diodes was over 10,000 hrs at room temperature under automatic power controlled condition. We expect the performance of the LDs to be improved by the optimization of the growth and fabrication process. The detailed characteristics and important issues of the laser diodes will be discussed at the conference.
