In this study, we investigated whether A. distichum decreases the production of inflammatory mediators through downregulation of the NF-${\kappa}B$ and ERK pathway. Our data indicated that A. distichum leaf inhibits the overexpression of iNOS in protein and mRNA levels, and subsequently blocked LPS-mediated NO overproduction in RAW264.7 cells. A. distichum leaf inhibited $I{\kappa}B-{\alpha}$ degradation and p65 nuclear translocation, and subsequently suppressed transcriptional activity of NF-${\kappa}B$ in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. In addition, A. distichum leaf suppressed LPS-induced ERK1/2 activation by decreasing phosphorylation of ERK1/2. These findings suggest that A. distichum leaf shows anti-inflammatory activities through suppressing ERK-mediated NF-${\kappa}B$ activation in mouse macrophage.

Aralia cordata (A. cordata), which belongs to Araliaceae, is a perennial herb widely distributed in East Asia. We evaluated the anti-inflammatory effect of stems (AC-S), roots (AC-R) and leaves (AC-L) extracted with 100% methanol of A. cordata and elucidated the potential signaling pathway in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. The AC-L showed a strong anti-inflammatory activity through inhibition of NO production. AC-L dose-dependently inhibited NO production by suppressing iNOS, COX-2 and $IL-{\beta}$ expression in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. AC-L inhibited the degradation and phosphorylation of $I{\kappa}B-{\alpha}$, which donated to the inhibition of p65 nuclear accumulation and $NF-{\kappa}B$ activation. Furthermore, AC-L suppressed the phosphorylation of ERK1/2 and p38. These results suggested that AC-L may utilize anti-inflammatory activity by blocking $NF-{\kappa}B$ and MAPK signaling pathway and indicated that the AC-L can be used as a natural anti-inflammatory drugs.

A parameterized FFT/IFFT core generator (PFFT_CoreGen) is designed, which can be used as an essential IP (Intellectual Property) in various OFDM modem designs. The PFFT_CoreGen generates Verilog-HDL models of FFT cores in the range of 64 ${\sim}$ 2048-point. To optimize the performance of the generated FFT cores, the PFFT_CoreGen can select the word-length of input data, internal data and twiddle factors in the range of 8-b ${\sim}$ 24-b. Some design techniques for low-power design are considered from algorithm level to circuit level.

Fifty-five specimens of Octopus longispadiceus, belonging to the family Octopodidae, were collected for the first time from the East Sea of Korea and identified by DNA barcoding. This species is characterized by its long right third arm and ligula, the presence of enlarged suckers in the mature male, small white spots on the mantle, head, and arms, and no cirrus above the eye. A molecular analysis of the partial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I gene showed that these specimens are all the same species and have the smallest genetic distance with O. longispadiceus (Kimura- two-parameter distance = 0.002-0.003). A new Korean name, "Bal-mun-eo" is proposed for this species.

Requirements for high-efficiency equipment for energy saving are rapidly increasing recently keeping pace with development of digital and semiconductor technology. Accordingly, there are many changes and development in ballast. Ballast currently in use are Magnetic ballast (Coiled Type) and Electronic ballast. Electronic ballast produces incredible energy saving effect, but falls short of confidence instead. In addition, use at higher frequency through switching device creates Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and high frequency. EMI creates low quality of equipment, damage in facilities and low productivity by leading miss operation of equipment, and interferes with surrounding machines. In this analysis I am going to examine characteristics of EMI on the Electronic ballast of FLR32SS one type pursuant to annex 3 of Electric Goods Technology Standard, and counter technology.

The accuracy rate of P2G (Phoneme-to-Grapheme) is one of the important factors determining the quality of unlimited voice recognition (VR) systems. Few studies were, however, conducted to reduce ambiguities of a phoneme string which can be segmented into a variety of different linguistic units (i.e. morphemes, words, eo-jeols), thus be transformed into more than one grapheme string. This paper is a preliminary research for building a large knowledge base of those homonymic & heterographic units(HHUs), which will provide unlimited Korean VR systems with more accurate P2G information. This paper analyzes 2 main factors generating HHUs: (1) boundary determination of the prosodic unit; (2) its segmentation into linguistic units. In this paper, linguistic characteristics determining variable boundaries of a prosodic unit are investigated, and the ambiguity types of HHUs are classified in accordance with their morphological and syntactic structures as well as with the phonological rules governing them.

This study designed and implemented a system to extract of vowel from a word. The system is comprised of a voice feature extraction module and a neutral network module. The voice feature extraction module use a LPC(Linear Prediction Coefficient) model to extract a voice feature from a word. The neutral network module is comprised of a learning module and voice recognition module. The learning module sets up a learning pattern and builds up a neutral network to learn. Using the information of a learned neutral network, a voice recognition module extracts a vowel from a word. A neutral network was made to learn selected vowels(a, eo, o, e, i) to test the performance of a implemented vowel extraction recognition machine. Through this experiment, could confirm that speech recognition module extract of vowel from 4 words.

In this paper, I analyzed the russian cultural content of the russian textbook according to curriculum changes. The aim of this study is to analyze the content of the russian textbooks on russian culture. Our education of russian language begins in high school as a second language. And russian education in high school entirely depend on the textbook. In these circumstances, Russian textbooks play a very important role in the Russian language learning. For a practical and efficient language learning, acquisition of cultural knowledge is very important. Because cultural content can be learning motivational factors. But the contents of a textbook is not satisfactory enough to teach russian culture. More efficient textbook must be developed to advance student's linguistic ability.

A single specimen (91.5 cm standard length) of the salmonid species, Oncorhynchus tshawytscha (Walbaum, 1792) was collected on April 19, 2022 in Sokcho-si, Gangwon-do, Korea. O. tshawytscha has the following morphological characteristics: base of lower jaw teeth is black, black spots are scattered on the dorsal section of body, and the edge of caudal fin is black. Although the species is morphologically similar to Oncorhynchus kisutch, O. tshawytscha differs from it in having black spots on the caudal fin. Molecular analysis results based on mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) sequences showed that our specimen perfectly matched with the COI sequences of O. tshawytscha registered at the NCBI. Therefore, we suggest the new Korean name 'Wang-yeon-eo' for O. tshawytscha.

서로 다른 성장조건 하에서 자발형성 InAs 양자점 (quantum dot, QD)을 제작하고. 그 특성을 photoluminescence (PL) 로 분석하였다. 비교적 높은 기판온도에서 성장된 QD 시료들의 PL 스펙트럼에서 분명한 차이를 나타내는 double-peak이 관측되었다. 온도 및 여기광 출력의존성 (temperature- and excitation power dependence) PL을 이용하여 그 double-peak이 서로 다른 크기분포를 가지는 두개의 InAs QD집단에서의 기저발광 (Eo) 에 의한 peak 임을 알 수 있었다. 게다가 이중크기분포에서 InAs 두께변화는 서로 대립되는 두 QD집단에서 QD 수의 변화를 초래한다는 것 또한 증명하였다.
