철도전철화 효과 계량지표 개발에 관한 연구 (A study on development of measuring index about railway electrification effectiveness)

  • High speed and large transfer capability of railroad has been an important issue in Korean since KTX opening at 2004. Improvement projects for railway electrification are progressed in the conventional line as well as high speed line because various operation plan is performed such as interaction between high speed line and conventional line and operation of tilting train etc. Especially, railway electrification has many advantages which are cost effective and eco-friendly. But it also has some problems such as construction costs and accidents due to electrification. Therefore this paper developed measuring index of electrification railway benefit. By comparing between diesel and electrical locomotive, the operations of before and after the electrification and measurements quantitative index such as energy efficiency, enlargement of transfer capability, environmental pollution and maintenance and efficiency of operation is presented. In the future, Overall benefit and cost of railway electrification will be analyzed.

초고층아파트 단위주공간의 지속가능성 평가요소 분석 (An Analysis of the Sustainability of High-rise Apartment Unit Design Elements)

  • The issue of sustainability has been prevailed not only in building industry but also all other industries. It has been raised that the concept of sustainability should take into account for the design of multi-use high-rise apartments. In this study, the present situation and trends of the multi-use high-rise apartment construction have been reviewed. The definition of sustainable design of high-rise apartment has been clarified so as to perceive the related design elements through the literature survey. Finally this study has derived the sustainable design elements of high-rise apartment unit plans through the comparative analysis of sustainable design guidelines, environmentally friendly building accreditation systems and literature survey in and abroad.

공동주택 건축공사의 공종별 폐기물의 종류와 발생원인 분석 (An Analysis of Classification and Causes for Construction Waste of Apartment Building Projects)

  • Each year the amount of construction wastes increases at a rapid pace. Particularly, wastes from apartment housing projects that make up 89.14% of the total construction projects have increased about 48% as compared with those of the year 2000. Construction wastes are therefore rising as an issue related to environmental problems and disposal costs. And there are ongoing studies of the disposal, control and recycling of construction wastes. Mitigation measures for the wastes, however, have been a rare subject of research that focuses on waste-generating factors by activity during apartment housing projects. Given that, the purpose of this study was to categorize construction wastes by work type and to identify the factors causing wastes in order to reduce them. This study investigated the amount of the wastes from apartment housing constructions by activity as related to disposal costs, and examined causes in the ordering, transport, material management and construction stage, respectively. The analysis results will likely bring about expectation effects that help reduce the generation of the wastes by establishing action plans.

  • Although for its great amount and cleanness solar energy has been studied a lot as a substitute one, it is limitedly being utilized in heating water and partly in special usage for high cost of installing solar cell in Korea. Consider domestic shortage of natural energy resources and environmental issue by the Climate Agreement treated in 1994, it is urgently needed to study the practical application of solar energy as a substitute one. Therefore in order to increase the efficiency of solar cell and decrease its price, this study treats the course of designing and manufacturing the panel that connects sunlight by fixing reflector.

  • This paper deals with "Citizens Organization" and "Citizen Participation" to the process of the regional planning and design not only in urban areas but also in rural residential areas with regard to the range of topics, such as its planning, partnership, environmental study, exchange, training of talented persons and NPO. Even though many attempts on this issue have been developed in various part of Japan, I examine in this essay especially the case of citizens in Hyogo Prefecture. As regards a case in urban areas the various movements set after Great Hanshin and Awaji Earthquake are introduced. As a case in rural residential areas with abundant nature, the activities of "Tamba-no-Mori"in Tamba District and a concept for "the Idyllic Landscape Museum" in North Harima district are introduced.

  • After end of the 20th environmental problem was became issue. So about mercury free lighting sources are being studied very much. In this paper, a mercury and electrode free bulb was designed. in this bulb was injected mixed of Xe, Ne and Kr Gases. and then the bulb was discharged by 13.56MHz RF Power after spectrum, color coordinates and brightness were measured by spectrum meter CS-1000. Measured results were compared and analyzed, also analysis was able to do a characteristic of a gas defensive fight in proportion to a mixing ratio. Therefore the most of high brightness which was 4500cd/m2 was gained in 1:1 ratio of Xe:Ne at 60W input power.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the efficiency of the noise reduction measure in the downtown construction. For decades, the life level rise in Korea makes the environmental issues developed the important issues. Specially the noise problems have become the hot issue in the building construction. This study covers the efficiency of the measures, which is used in the construction field to reduce the noise. The case was obtained by Korean E&C company in 2003. It is used as important sources. The results of this study are as follows; the reduction efficiency is higher than that of the old measure. But more efforts are needed to comfort nearby residents.

Generalized Vehicle Routing Problem for Reverse Logistics Aiming at Low Carbon Transportation

  • Deployment of green transportation in reverse logistics is a key issue for low carbon technologies. To cope with such logistic innovation, this paper proposes a hybrid approach to solve practical vehicle routing problem (VRP) of pickup type that is common when considering the reverse logistics. Noticing that transportation cost depends not only on distance traveled but also on weight loaded, we propose a hierarchical procedure that can design an economically efficient reverse logistics network even when the scale of the problem becomes very large. Since environmental concerns are of growing importance in the reverse logistics field, we need to reveal some prospects that can reduce $CO_2$ emissions from the economically optimized VRP in the same framework. In order to cope with manifold circumstances, the above idea has been deployed by extending the Weber model to the generalized Weber model and to the case with an intermediate destination. Numerical experiments are carried out to validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach and to explore the prospects for future green reverse logistics.

  • The ecological environment planning begins with the awareness that human are a part of ecological system. A recent issue, LOHAS (Lifestyle of Health and Substantiality), will be defined as a consumption trend which values highly health, social justice, economy, self development and sustainable life. LOHAS aims at coexistence with human and nature, pursue a sustainable development and it could be an alternative for SHS(Sick House Syndrome). This research tries to show the case analysis in coexistence in human and nature which LOHAS aims at. The design space applied the concept of LOHAS(renewing, reusing and recycling) will maintain healthy lives of the present and the future.
