철도소음환경 기준설정을 위한 기초적 연구(I) (A Fundamental Study on the Establishment of Environmental Quality Criteria for Railway Noise(I))

  • With rapid industrial development, railway has become a main traffic means. But, the railway noise has caused much annoyance for the residents living nearby railway track. Therefore, it is necessary to establish the environmental Quality criteria for railway noise like the environmental quality criteria for traffic noise. In this study, the domestic and foreign criteria for railway noise were investigated with analysis of existing data and an field survey of noise condition near a railway. Fundamental data are provided for establishment of environmental Quality criteria for railway noise.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose an appropriate criterium for proper sound insulation service preventing school classrooms from aircraft noise. The guideline of noise level for school facility by Korean school health law is less than Leq 55 which is less stringent than that of other countries. It has been reported that many students are annoyed and disturbed for their works when they are exposed to the noise level over Leq 55. It is desirable to modify this guideline of indoor noise level for school classroom. The noise level of classroom of which windows are opened was measured relatively high in case the school is located at the outside of the official area damaged by aircraft noise. In order to minimize the influence of aircraft noise on the school classrooms in the vicinity of domestic airport, it is necessary to improve the present criteria of WECPNL 75 for the establishment of the area damaged by aircraft noise from WECPNL 70.

  • Rating scales for environmental noise are varied in their calculation procedure. Among them WECPNL (weighted equivalent continuous perceived noise level) is the rating scale for aircraft noise currently being used in domestic and applied only for aircraft noise. However $L_{dn}$ calculated from $L_{eq}$ $L_{eq}$ is used as a rating scale for not only aircraft noise but also environmental noise. Besides, it is easy to calculate and internationally preferred. It is, therefore, not adequate for the evaluation of residents' exposure. Moreover it is very difficult to measure the aircraft noise by WECPNL due to the complicated calculating procedures if automatic measuring system is not used. Accordingly. this study aims to propose alternative evaluation procedure for the aircraft noise. To achieve this purpose, the data measured by automatic measuring system were gathered and calculated with three evaluation procedures : WECPNL $L_{eq}$ and $L_{dn}$, and the results calculated from different methods were compared and analyzed.

광주지역의 택지개발지구 소음도 조사연구 (A Study on the Noise Level of Residential Area in Gwangju)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the present state of noise level including three general districts and two roadside areas at the Residential Area such as Sangmu, Pungam, Moonheung, and Ilgok Area. The noise level was measured quarterly. The results were shown that the noise level of day time was no great difference and that noise level of night time represented ranges between 44 to 48 dB(A). The noise level of day time was higher 4 to 7 dB(A) than night time. At the roadside areas, average noise level of day time was suitable to the requirements of environmental criteria. However. only one point of two points exceeded the noise level of environmental criteria. except Pungam Area. The noise level of night time in all areas was 58 dB(A), showing more 3 dB(A) than the environmental criteria (55 dB(A)). The difference of noise level between day time and night time was approximately 5 to 7 dB(A) in all Area. The noise level of day time was not dependent on all seasons, whereas that night time is dependent on season, especially showing lower noise level in winter. Showing the changes on the times in a day, it reached the highest at 16:00, mainly resulting in a lot of activities of people. The maximum noise level (Lmax) from 3 or 4 military aircraft showed almost the same. The noise level of aircraft in Sangmu Area was 71.5∼78.1 WECPNL.

옵셋 인쇄기계 동력규모 변화에 따른 소음 영향 평가 (The Noise Influence Assessment according to the Change of the Offset Type Print Machine's Power)

  • Nowadays, the needs to revise the classification criteria for noise emission facilities have been suggested by the related industries. Because there existed many reasonable factors in the criteria regarding the noise emission facilities. And the noise emission facility classification criterion of the print machine changed from 50 HP to 100 HP in 2013. But the increasement of the noise emission facility classification criterion of the print machine can cause adverse effects like the bigger noise. So, in this paper, we measured the print machine's sound power level according to the changes of the print machine's power to assess the adverse effects. The measurement method applied with KS I ISO 9614-2(1996). The corelation between the sound power level and the power of print machines was analyzed by regression analysis. In this paper, we found that the sound power level of the print machines can increase about 1.3 dB in the condition of that the power of print machine increases from 50 HP to 100 HP. And we found that the sound power level of the print machines can increase about 1.0 dB for a increasement of 1,000 SPH(sheet per hour) of printing speed. The noise emission characteristics of print machine stuied in this paper will be useful to design the noise reduction plan in the future.

함정의 공기중 소음수준 (Airborne Noise Level of Navy Ships)

  • Airborne noise is one of the considerable environmental factors for navy ship personnel because of accomplishing their tasks on restricted ship spaces. In this study, the effects of airborne noise on personnel and existing criteria for acceptable airborne noise on ships are reviewed briefly. Statistic results of airborne noise levels of the Korean navy ships are analyzed according to the class of ships and are compared airborne noise levels of the US navy ships. These results can be used for proposing airborne noise criteria of the navy ship for the future.

  • This paper describes the characteristics and the criteria of electrical environmental effects produced from power system especially transmission line. Audible noise radio and TV interference, electric and magnetic inductions which are main items for optimal conductor selection as well as major contributors to the community complaint of electrical environmental problem, are surveyed and studied comparing with the criteria or the environmental protection regulation of domestic and foreign countries. As a result a domestic criteria of electrical environmental on power system was suggested.

  • This study investigates interior and exterior environments and arrangement forms of school buildings from elementary to high school which were recently built in Daegu since the 7th Educational Curriculum. In addition, this study analyses how outside noise affects inside environment of schools. This study found that the noise level criteria of school facilities(such as exterior learning sites and outer walls of school buildings) adjacent to street of one side satisfiedly corresponded to the level and criteria, 65dB(A), of school health law. However, the noise level and vibration criteria of school facilities adjacent to street of two sides did not satisfiedly corresponded to the level or criteria, 65dB(A). In case of classrooms, the inner noise of educational facilities with windows closed and also close to both the street of one side and of two sides satisfiedly corresponded to the level or criteria. 55dB(A), of school health law. In spring and tall, the windows are more open them usual for ventilation, and leaving windows open can lead to noise from outside. Thus, it is urgent to prepare for this situation.

  • Personal and static sampling for formaldehyde, wood dust and noise monitoring, in accordance to the equipment running on the day, were carried out throughout wood panel manufacturing process. Even though the exposure level of formaldehyde and wood dust were below than exposure criteria, but the personal protective equipment(PPE) for those should be worn to everyone in the process because of its potential characteristics like carcinogenicity. Also a few local air extraction system above the cutting, grinding sections and organic blending room should be required. Most of the exposures of noise exposure were exceeded permitted exposure criteria, in case of Hopper operators, exposed to maximally 94dB(A) as LAeq 8hr, therefore active controls like PPE, monitoring, isolation etc. are necessary. The main sources of noise were caused on compressed air of the machinery, radio sound and operation noise like running machines, conveying, cutting, sawing, moving vehicles, storing and so on. For the comparison of control criteria in each country, the permitted exposure standards for above hazardous materials and noise in Korea, ACGIH and Australia were discussed. We have recognized that the Korean criteria should be discussed urgently to give the right information to employee and modified, if it is necessary.

  • As the number of the apartments is increasing, many environmental problems are also occurred. There are lots of studies on that problems. Especially, a lot of studies about environmental noises are going along continuously. And they found out advanced results. In this study, we investigated the residents' subjective responses about environmental noises by survey, and verified the trend of the environmental noise conditions in apartment house. The results of this study will be useful to provide guideline to make policy of environmental noise and criteria.
