한반도 기후 변화 적응을 위한 취약성 지수 산정에 관한 고찰 (A Review of Studies on Vulnerability Indicator for the Climate Change Adaptation over South Korea)

  • Climate change assessment, together with climate change adaptation process, would be one of the worldwide important issues, and the study on climate change vulnerability indicator has been an essential problem for climate change adaptation. Vulnerability indicator can be used as a good tool to estimate the impact of climate change and to map out the distribution of its vulnerability over the given area both in Korea and other countries. This study addressed the conceptual summary on the assessment of climate change and its adaptation process. Previous studies on how to yield the vulnerability indicators of climate change are reviewed and several previous results of vulnerability indicators applied to Korean provinces are also discussed here.

기후 변화 주제를 다룬 역사 수업의 환경교육 효과 (The Educational Effect of History Lessons on the Subject of Climate Change Regarding Environmental Awareness)

  • Currently, climate change is regarded as one of the most important environmental issues in the 21st century. However, climate change education is not seriously carried out in schools. This study is concerned about enhancing students' recognition about climate change and actions responding to climate change through an history discipline. More specifically, this study tried to identify the effect of history lessons on environmental education, especially focused on climate change, by performing an experiment. The experiment was designed based on Solomon four-group design and carried out in one high school in Gwangmyeong city. Findings of the experiment are as follows. First, students who had taken the reorganized history lesson based on climate change - that is, students with experimental treatments - gained higher understanding of climate change than before and students of control groups. Second, students with experimental treatments gained higher understanding about relationship between history and climate change. Third, students with experimental treatments showed higher possibility of taking responding actions to climate change. In conclusion, history lessons reorganized with environmental issues, for instance climate change, have big potential for environmental education since they contribute to enhancing environmental recognition and prompting responding actions through exploration the effects of existing historical facts. Interdisciplinary approach like that taken in this study will provide students with more comprehensive and extended prism for the environment.

기후변화에 따른 체험활동 중심의 환경교육이 청소년 환경의식에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Influence of Experience Environmental Education Program on Youth's Environmental Consciousness due to Climate Change)

  • The significance of this study is to see the influence of experience environmental education program on youth's environmental consciousness due to climate change. An experience environmental education can provide an opportunity to make cooperative interaction with friends and can give interest in surrounding environment. Also in this study, it reveals that experience education played an important role in changing of attitude and awareness to environment and nature. As climate change is very important through all countries, these positive effects suggest that experienced environmental education lessons are important for the future generation's awareness on climate change and environmental consciousness.

  • KOMPSAT-3 is expected to provide data with 80-cm spatial resolution, which can be used to detect environmental change and create thematic maps such as land-use and land-cover maps. However, to analyze environmental change, change-detection technologies that use multi-resolution and high-resolution satellite images simultaneously must be developed and linked to each other. This paper describes a GIS-based strategy and methodology for revealing global and local environmental change. In the pre-processing step, we performed geometric correction using satellite, auxiliary, and training data and created a new classification system. We also describe the available technology for connecting global and local change-detection analysis.

기후변화 프로젝트 학습이 초등학생의 기후변화에 대한 인식 및 태도, 환경소양에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Climate Change Project Learning on Elementary School Students' Perceptions and Attitudes Toward Climate Change and Environmental Literacy)

  • 본 연구에서는 기후변화와 프로젝트 수업이 초등학생의 기후변화에 대한 인식 및 태도, 환경소양에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보았다. 이를 위하여 광역시 소재의 초등학교 6학년 학생 174명(남학생 77명, 여학생 97명)의 학생을 대상으로 12차시 분량의 기후변화 프로젝트 수업을 실시한 후 학생들의 기후변화에 대한 인식 및 태도, 환경소양 수준의 변화를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 기후변화 프로젝트 수업은 초등학생의 기후변화에 대한 인식 및 태도에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 프로젝트 학습 과정에서 기후변화 문제와 관련하여 서로 조사한 내용을 공유하고 소통하면서 학생들의 기후변화에 대한 인식 및 태도가 함양된 것으로 판단된다. 또한 기후변화 프로젝트 수업은 초등학생의 환경소양에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 구체적으로 환경태도 및 가치, 환경 친화적 행동 영역에서는 긍정적인 변화가 관찰되었지만 환경감수성 영역에서는 유의한 변화가 나타나지 않았다. 본 연구는 과학 및 환경 관련 교육학 분야에서 강조되고 있는 기후변화 문제를 소재로 한 기후변화 프로젝트 수업의 교육적 효과를 논의하고 시사점을 제안했다는 점에서 의미가 있다.

DeNitrification-DeComposition (DNDC) Improvement through Model Coupling and Sub-model Development Considering Agricultural Land Use and Future Climate Change

  • Climate change is the biggest concern of the $21^{st}$ century. Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from various sectors are attracting attention as a cause of climate change. The DeNitrification-DeComposition (DNDC) model simulates GHG emissions from cropland. To study future GHG emissions using this simulation model, various factors that could change in future need to be considered. Because most problems are from the agricultural sector, DNDC would be unable to solve the factor-changing problem itself. Hence, it is necessary to link DNDC with separate models that simulate each element. Climate change is predicted to cause a variety of environmental disasters in the future, having a significant impact on the agricultural environment. In the process of human adaptation to environmental change, the distribution and management methods of farmland will also change greatly. In this study, we introduce some drawbacks of DNDC in considering future changes, and present other existing models that can rectify the same. We further propose some combinations with models and development sub-models.

에너지, 환경 및 경제성을 통합 고려한 공동주택 설계요소 제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Control of Apartment House Design Factors considering Energy, Environment and Economical Efficiency)

  • The current building energy efficiency rating certification regulation on apartment houses evaluates only the saving rate of energy consumed during operation, i.e. use, of a building, but doesn't consider the energy consumptions and environmental load($CO_2$) emissions occurring during the whole lifetime of a building. So this study calculated the energy consumptions and environmental load emissions occurring during the whole lifetime of a building, selected reference schemes and alternative items by design variables to present a design draft considering energy efficiency and environmental performance, and evaluated the total cost by combining and calculating its direct cost(material and heating cost) and indirect cost(environmental cost), for an existing apartment house as an evaluation object. As a result of analysis, the change of heating cost by alternative items of design variables showed a 4~8% change rate compared to the reference scheme, and the material cost of design variable 7 showed a maximum 4.4 times change rate in the alternative plan 6 compared to the reference scheme. The environmental cost showed a similar change rate to the material cost change rate in general, but showed a similar environmental cost change rate to the heating cost change rate in case of design variables 4-1, 4-2, 7.

위성 (OMI)을 활용한 한반도 지역 NO2 분석 (Analysis of NO2 over the Korean Peninsula from Ozone Monitoring Instrument Satellite Measurements)

  • Monitoring of climate change and atmospheric environment by satellite measurements has been increased in recent years. In this study, nitrogen dioxide ($NO_2$) measurements from Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) were compared with surface measurements over the Korean peninsula. $NO_2$ from OMI measurements showed high values and also showed seasonal variations such as high concentration in winter and low in summer over metropolitan areas while $NO_2$ concentration at national background station was low and did not clearly show seasonal variations. Surface measurements showed similar temporal and spatial variations to those of satellite measurement. The comparison between satellite measurements and surface measurements showed that the correlation between them was higher in urban area (r=0.64 at Seoul and r=0.63 at Daegu) than in national background stations (r=0.37 at Jeju) because the concentration in urban area was relatively high so that the variation of $NO_2$ concentration could be detected better than at national background stations by satellite. Satellite can effectively measure the emission and transport of pollutants with no limitations in spatial coverage.

기후변화 관련 수도권 지역의 환경교육 프로그램 현황 및 개선방안 (The Current Status and Improvement Plan of Environmental Education Program in Relation to Climate Change in the Seoul Metropolitan Area)

  • This study was to conduct a literature review and a theoretical study on 95 environmental education programs currently being run in the metropolitan area and obtained Environmental Education Program Certification of Ministry of Environment. First, the suitability of the environmental education programs was analyzed in terms of the following criteria which the Second National Environmental Education Master Plan propose: strengthening environmental education within the curriculum, strengthening preschooler environmental education, diversification of environmental education among targeted groups, and invigoration of community-based environmental education, and evaluated the contents and the proportion relevant to climate change. Based on the result, the measure for the improvement of the environmental education programs was proposed. As a result of the analysis, there were only 15 programs for children, and 20 programs for adults. Also, only 9% of the children and adult education programs were addressing climate change respectively, which was indicating low percentage. 75 programs were directly related to the school curriculum, and 8 programs were not related to subjects in regular curriculum. Also, considering addressing climate change, 7 out of 11 programs were related to the school curriculum. 71 out of 95 programs were located in the facilities of local governments. Programs that were including the contents relate to climate change were only 11 out of 95 programs. It is necessary to operate programs by expanding environmental education programs targeting children and adults, so all people are took into account, and consider the connectivity between curriculum and environmental education program in South Korea to increase the effectiveness of education. Also, it is necessary to educate people sustainably by relating the programs with various resources which can be utilized in the local community, to include climate change related contents with more proportion, and to address various subjects rather than focusing on one part of the subjects.

학습자 활동 중심 기후변화 교육 프로그램 개발 (Development of the Student Activity-Centered Education Programme on Climate Change)

  • 본 연구는 기후변화 교육을 위한 초등학생용 교육 프로그램을 학습자 활동 중심으로 개발하는데 목적이 있다. 총 10개의 기후변화 교육 프로그램을 개발하였다. 프로그램 10개의 주제는 '날씨 측정', '계절의 변화', '과거의 기후 측정', '기후와 생물', '기후와 인간생활', '기후변화의 원인과 현상', '기후변화의 영향', '기후변화 대응'이다. 각 프로그램의 학습 단계는 도입 단계, 구체적 체험 단계, 반성적 관찰 단계, 추상적 개념형성 단계, 능동적 체험단계로 구성하였다. 본 연구에서 개발된 프로그램은 초등학생의 기후변화에 대한 인식 태도의 함양과 긍정적이고 적극적인 기후변화 대응행동의 촉진에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.
