  • The purpose of this research was to analyze the relationship between environment-friendly housing behaviors and the influential variables among consumers by focusing on housing life. This research carried out a questionnaire survey with housewives living in Seoul and the Metropolitan area using a questionnaire that was composed based on previous research. The housewives' environment-friendly housing attitudes and their resource-saving knowledge level, along with environmental education-related variables, house ownership, and the housewives' employment appeared to be significant variables in explaining the generic environment-friendly housing behaviors found in this research. Three regression equations, classified into purchasing, utilization, and disposal behaviors, were employed. The empirical results were relatively similar to those for the generic environment-friendly housing behaviors; however, each model provided somewhat different results in some specific aspects. All the environmental education-related variables appeared to be significant in explaining environment-friendly housing utilization behaviors, and were similar to the results obtained from the generic environment-friendly housing behaviors. However, the variables were limited in explaining environment-friendly housing-related disposal behaviors. The convenience, recycling ease, and family-structure variables appeared to be significant influences on environment-friendly housing-related disposal behaviors. Most empirical results of this research were consistent with those of previous studies. However, the explanatory independent variables varied, depending on the types of each domain of environment-friendly housing behaviors studied.

Recently, with appearing 'Ubiquitous environments', the applications of ubiquitous technologies on the our environment adopt a new paradigm. This new paradigm leads to the possibility of creating more intellectual dwelling environment according to user's behaviors. This paper suggests to change our dwelling by considering both engineering technology and the character of dwelling, because the house should provide causes humans with comfortability. Therefore, we need to understand user's behaviors in the dwelling, towards user friendly environment. Also, it very important for us to configure proper sensors and technologies by the priority based on user's behaviors. • The purpose this study was to analyze the factors related to the disposal behavior of college students in recycling resources. Recycling resources were classified into four categories: paper, glass, cans and plastic. The data used this study were collected through questionnaire on 420 college students living in Jeju island. The data were analyzed by using SPSS WIN program and the methods of frequency, average, standard deviation, percentage, internal consistency method, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Scheffe's multiple range tests. The study results can be summarized as follows. Disposal behavior of paper was influenced by pocket money, of glass by sex and housing type, and of cans by housing type. Mother's education level was related to the disposal behavior of college students in recycling resources. In addition, the results showed that environment-friendly conscious and purchasing behaviors affected the disposal behavior of college students in recycling the resources of paper, glass, cans and plastic. The environment-friendly consciousness of college students was the most influential factor in the disposal behavior in recycling resources.

A total 118 responses of residents living in apartments of Seoul Metropolitan Area were used for data analysis. Using statistical program SPSS Win 18.0, frequency analysis, t-test, One-way ANOVA, and factor analysis was employed. The major findings were as follows: 1) slightly more than half of the respondents were aware of green home, and the vast majority were in favor of the green home policy; 2) most of the respondents carried out guidelines of green residential life, and in particular, green living on air environment was well done, followed by consumption, waste, energy, traffic and water; 3) the six kinds of environments were subcategorized by using factor analysis, and 3 to 5 factors were included in each category of environment. Also, it was found that age, educational level, employment status of respondents, housing tenure and duration were related to the degree of green residential life. • This study has the purpose to reveal the differences of residents' using behaviors of living facilities at 3 complexes. The physical characteristics of the complexes have been investigated by a literature study and field survey. In addition, questionnaires were answered by residents on living facilities using behavior on community environment. The tools of analysis are frequency, percentage, and cross tabulation using SPSS WIN 12.0 program. Followings are the results of the study. 1) The developmental concept of 3 complexes maintained its initial identity. (1) The residence-oriented complex, having wider residential space, had better downtown access and more convenient facilities for daily life. (2) The residence-government mixed complex, constructed with an eco-friendly concept, had wider green and public service space and good downtown access but on the other hand, had less convenience facilities because of a short period from construction. (3) The residence-industry mixed complex, located in sub-urbanity and conceding more land for industries, had poor access to downtown but had more convenient facilities for workers' use. 2) The most frequently visited convenience facilities were shopping facilities, large or small, and banks, and activities were commonly done in the complex or adjacent area. This means it is recommended that the developer of the new complex locate convenience facilities in multi-core concentration types or street types rather than one-core concentration types.
