The emergence of Building Information Modelling (BIM), reality data, Virtual Reality (VR), and Augmented Reality (AR) has significantly enhanced the collaboration between stakeholders in construction management. The utilization of VR/AR devices holds considerable potential for monitoring safety in complex and constrained working environments on the construction site. On the other hand, near-miss incidents remain an important early sign of struck-by accidents. However, research on early warning and prevention methods for this risk is still limited. This paper, therefore, presents a framework for on-site and off-site collaborative safety monitoring framework using augmented and virtual reality for near-miss incidents. In the proposed framework, three phases to develop a VR/AR-based safety monitoring system include (1) construction safety simulation environment, (2) localization-based interaction system, and (3) safety monitoring system. The system can undertake the processing of data and enables communication among disparate VR/AR devices. VR clients are observational tools and offer guidance, while the AR client stays onsite for construction tasks. All clients connect to a processing computer, which also works as a host. The system embedded in the AR device can trigger an alarm or receive signals from the VR client when a near-miss issue happens. Additionally, all device clients possess the capability to share data acquired from onsite monitoring cameras, thereby fostering effective discussions and decision-making. The efficacy of this cross-platform system has been validated through the implementation of an outdoor coordination case study.
Suspension of particulate matter (PM) in indoor spaces, which increases risk of negative impact on occupants' health from exposure to PM, is influenced by humidity level in the indoor environment. The goal of this study is to investigate the property of size-resolved PM suspension in accordance with the relative humidity through simulation chamber experiments which reflect the indoor environmental characteristics. The relative humidity of simulation chamber is adjusted to 35%, 55% and 75% by placing it inside a real-size environmental chamber which allows artificial control of climatic conditions (e.g., temperature, humidity). At the respective humidity conditions, PM suspension concentration caused by occupant walking is analyzed by particle size (0.5-0.8, 0.8-1.0, 1.0-2.5, 2.5-3.5, 3.5-4.5, 4.5-5.5, 5.5-8.0, and 8.0-10 ㎛). Irrespective of the particle size, the suspension concentration reveals a decreasing tendency as the relative humidity increases. Furthermore, a one-way analysis of variance (one-way ANOVA) test statistically verifies that the suspension concentration has a significant difference depending on the indoor relative humidity level. In addition, as the relative humidity increases, a proportion of the suspended particles with 0.5-2.5 ㎛ diameter decreases, while that with 2.5-3.5 ㎛ diameter increases. The reason is considered that the humidity has an effect on adhesion and coagulation forces of the particles.
This study was conducted to determine the geographical distribution and habitat for Rana catesbeiana and Trachemys scripta elegans in order to obtain the current basic data on biota needed for establishing a database on non-indigenous species(NIS) in Jeju-do and to develop management plans applicable to Jeju, starting from March 2005 until May 2006. As a result of an inspection, it was found that the habitat for R. catesbeiana in Jeju includes Hankyeong-myeon, Daejeong-eup, and Ahndeok-myeon. These areas are all located on the western side of Jeju-do, and considered to have favorable conditions for R. catesbeiana to inhabit. Thus, it is unlikely that the population of R. catesbeiana will possibly decrease; what's worse, there exists even a risk that it could not only expand to other regions but also do damage to the population of native insecta, fishes, amphibians and reptiles, so this terrible species ought to be exterminated. More than 92 individuals of T. scripta elegans species were found to inhabit in 15 ponds around Jeju Island. T. scripta elegans. as the topmost predator, could destruct the pond ecosystem, and also cause a problem of water pollution due to its excrement. Counter-measures against T. scripta elegans could include publicity activities encouraging self-control of the release of captive T. scripta elegans, extermination plans using its ecological habits, and sign-posting publicizing its hazard to healthy ecosystem at the areas with high population density of T. scripta elegans or at its habitats with high foot traffic, together with the continuous management of NIS(none-indigenous species).
Most of the maritime accidents are the crash that occurred by complex coastal terrain, increased maritime traffic and frequent weather changes. Therefore, transportation safety is exactly determined using accurate environmental informations, but if informations are inaccurate or insufficient, accident risk can be increased. Therefore, ship need the system that can accurately generate transportation safety information. This paper proposes the transportation safety system and performance evaluation in the real environment. The proposed system includes database of environment informations and navigation algorithm using PPP method to estimate the accurate ship position. Therefore, this system can accurately calculate distance or freeboard between ship with other factors. Futhermore, when weather is deteriorated, crew can sail with database based 3-D monitoring module in the transportation safety system. To verify the function and performance, data of Kyungin ARA waterway and ferry is used to evaluation.
Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria japonica) pollinosis is the most popular pollinosis in Japan. It has been reported that Cryptomeria japonica pollen allergenic species are suspended as fine particles in the urban atmosphere. These allergenic fine particles are responsible for inducing asthma by breaking into the lower respiratory tract. It has also been found that pollinosis symptoms on the sufferers appear mainly at night-time by the results from epidemiological studies. However, the exact reason for these phenomena is not yet clarified. In this study, the diurnal and nocturnal behaviours of Cryptomeria japonica pollen grains and their allergenic species in the urban area of Saitama city of Kanto Plain were investigated. Airborne pollen grains and allergenic Cry j 1 concentrations in total suspended particulate matter (TSP) were investigated at two sampling sites, a heavy traffic road (roadside site) and at the balcony of the $10^{th}$ floor of the Building of Research and Project of Saitama University (general urban site). The latter sampling site where located about 300 m away from the roadside site was used as a general urban site unaffected by automobile traffic. The airborne pollen counts were measured with a real-time pollen monitor. Cry j 1 particles were collected with two high volume air samplers, and these concentrations were measured by surface plasmon resonance method with a Biacore J system. The diurnal variation of the airborne pollen counts was similar to the trends of temperature and wind speed during the day-time; whereas its tendency with wind speed trend was not observed during the night-time. Airborne pollen counts were lower with northern wind than with southern wind because the pollen comes from the mountainous areas, and the mountains in the south are closer, about half the distance to the northern mountains. It is suggested that the peaks of airborne pollen counts during night-time in the sampling site occurred by transport of pollen grains released during day-time in the mountainous forest areas, located c.a. 100 km away from the sampling site. On the roadside site the allergenic Cry j 1 concentrations were higher than at the general urban site, nevertheless pollen grains counts were lower. These results suggested that worsening of pollinosis symptoms during night-time in urban area was caused by transport of pollen grains during day-time in the mountainous forest areas. Moreover, pollen allergenic species become different morphology from pollen grain at roadside site, and the subsequent pollen grains re-suspension by automobile traffic.

Thus, variable speed control for drivers on the road, specify the appropriate maximum speed limit in bad weather It keeps motorists slowed the run rate to prevent accidents or reduce the severity of accident damage is expected to be possible. The purpose of this study is the frequent traffic accidents Continuous Busan (City Freeway) around the variable speed control in the appropriate sections so that it can be done by analyzing the characteristics of traffic accidents were the severity of the accident. Highway and urban environment, the geometry of the structure because it has a lot of Curved planar point compared to wet and dry road surfaces by simulated rain wet had bom the more the speed the greater the risk of an accident was the result. We investigated whether external environmental factors acted as a trigger for flowering in the draft bamboo (Sasa borealis (Hack.) Makino) blooming area of Mt. Baekwoon located in Gwangyang, South Jeolla Province. We then considered the cause for flowering, flowering patterns and life history strategies of the draft bamboo based on the investigation. There were no differences in soil, physical conditions, and light amount between the draft bamboo flowering and non-flowering areas. The precipitation and temperature of the areas in Korea and Japan where it blossomed from 2014 to 2017 were similar to the normal year values (for the past 30 years). Moreover, most of the draft bamboo died after flowering on a large scale, but some did not, or some culms were developed again. In other words, the draft bamboo bloomed simultaneously regardless of external environmental factors, and most of the culms were dead, but some were left alive. Therefore, it is considered that the flowering is triggered by the specific genes (referred as to clock genes) expressed periodically by a biological clock rather than the external environmental factors. Meanwhile, the draft bamboos generally bloom on a large scale by synchronizing with other ones in the distance but may also bloom several times separately on a small scale. It may be a kind of an insurance system established to disperse the risk of failed sexual propagation when flowering once in a lifetime. The results reveal that the long-period monocarpy of the draft bamboo has been strengthened to optimize the sexual propagation to overcome the increased environmental instability caused by the expansion of distribution of tropical bamboos and bamboo species to the temperate regions.

Heavy metals in the stream sediments around Shihwa Lake were studied not only to investigate the characteristics of spacio-temporal distribution but also to assess the pollution degree and ecological risk using various pollution indices. Among metals, Zn had the highest values (1,311 mg/kg) and Hg showed the lowest value (0.261 mg/kg). The order of mean concentrations (mg/kg) of metals was Zn>Cu>Pb>Cr>Ni>Co>As>Cd>Hg in stream sediments around Shihwa Lake. Metal concentrations showed different pollution pattern with industrial region, indicating that these metals originated from different sources and industrial region had higher metal concentration than rural/urban regions. The results of geoaccumulation index (Igeo) showed that the stream sediments were significantly polluted with Cd, Cu, Zn and Pb, indicating moderately to highly polluted by these metals. According to PLI consideration, industrial region was more seriously polluted by metals whereas an rural/urban region was not polluted. About 85% of sampling site for Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn and Pb from industrial regions were exceeded the PEL values. The mPELQ and SQI values derived from PEL of industrial region were classified as 'highly toxic' and 'very poor' and metal pollution level tend to be worse in wet season. This indicates that the industrial activities and stromwater runoff represents an important sources of heavy metals around Shihwa Lake.
To determine their acute toxicities on the earthworm (Eisenia fetida), six toxic chemicals were evaluated, according to the OECD guideline 207: sulfuric acid, methanol, methylethylketone, nitric acid, formic acid, and toluene. Sulfuric acid exhibited the maximum toxicity. The $LC_{50}$ values of sulfuric acid, nitric acid, formic acid, and toluene were 20.5, 49.1, 55.5, and $534.5{\mu}g\;cm^{-2}$, respectively. Toluene showed 26-fold lower toxicity than sulfuric acid. In this study, methanol and methylethylketone did not exhibit any toxicity to the earthworm. Further evaluation revealed that nitric acid, formic acid, and toluene exerted a change in the body weight of the chemically treated earthworms, whereas the other chemicals were ineffective. These results can be used for environmental risk assessment, when the chemicals are accidently discharged into the environment.

Foreign seafarers have embarked on the fishing vessels as industrial trainees since 1990s and the total number of foreign seafarers on merchant ships and fishing vessels marked 21,327 as of the end of 2013. Especially, in case of deep-sea fishing vessels and coastal/inshore fishing vessels, although the number of fishing vessels decreased, the number of foreign seafarers nearly doubled during recent 5 years. Looking at the marine accidents occurred to fishing vessels, after multinational seafarers are joining on board fishing vessels, difficulties in communication among seafarers has become a major issue. And the safety rules which could be understandable by foreign seafarers are not provided and the education and training for foreign seafarers are not properly conducted either. Consequently, the risk of marine accidents during fishing operation on fishing vessels has increased and emergency response under the captain's control was not effective enough to cope with such emergency situation. Several forced labour issues were also reported resulting from abusive words and assault committed by Korean seafarers. Therefore, This study aims first to review the cases of marine accidents on board fishing vessels which foreign seafarers are working and, the problems concerning employment and education for those foreign seafarers, and then to point out the necessity of conducting training on the safety rules and regular emergency drills for the foreign seafarers in order to prevent marine accidents.
