Preliminary Design of Movable Air-Turbo Ramjet Engine Intake

  • In this study, two types of ramjet intake were designed for the flight condition of Mach number 2 and 5 and numerical analysis was performed. In order to widen the flight envelope range(Mach number $2{\sim}6$), movable intake concept was applied. The central body was designed so that the capture area ratio which is one of most important factors of ramjet intake design could be adjusted. And various types of cowl and movable insert part of shell were designed in order to control throat area which could increase total pressure recovery. The numerical results showed that the designed ramjet intake could be applied in various flights Mach number.

Effects of Marketing Communication Capabilities on the link between Corporate Social Responsibility on Firm Value: Observations from the Service Industry

  • An increasing number of studies have examined the effects of corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities on corporate financial performance (CFP) in the service industry. However, the extant literature does not provide comprehensive insights into the conditions on which the CSR-CFP link relies. In this study, firms' marketing communication capability (MCC) is introduced as an important contingency variable, which determines the effects of CSR on the corporate financial performance, in the context of restaurant businesses. Multiple year data on the spending of public restaurant chains on different media are collected, and MCC is subsequently measured using the data envelope analysis. Then, a test is conducted to prove whether MCC moderates the relationship between CSR and firm financial performance. The empirical results support the hypothesis that MCC strengthens the effect of CSR on CFP. Through the findings, this research provides several interesting and important implications to the literature and managers of service firms.

Quantitative Image Analysis of Fluorescence Image Stacks: Application to Cytoskeletal Proteins Organization in Tissue Engineering Constructs

  • Motivation: Polymerized actin-based cytoskeletal structures are crucial in shape, dynamics, and resilience of a cell. For example, dynamical actin-containing ruffles are located at leading edges of cells and have a significant impact on cell motility. Other filamentous actin (F-actin) bundles, called stress fibers, are essential in cell attachment and detachment. For this reason, their mechanistic understanding provides crucial information to solve practical problems related to cell interactions with materials in tissue engineering. Detecting and counting actin-based structures in a cellular ensemble is a fundamental first step. In this research, we suggest a new method to characterize F-actin wrapping fibers from confocal fluorescence image stacks. As fluorescently labeled F-actin often envelope the fibers, we first propose to segment these fibers by diminishing an energy based on maximum flow and minimum cut algorithm. The actual actin is detected through the use of bilateral filtering followed by a thresholding step. Later, concave actin bundles are detected through a graph-based procedure that actually determines if the considered actin filament is enclosing the fiber.

조립식 좌굴방지가새형 이력댐퍼의 초기형상설계에 따른 구조성능실험 (Structural Performance Test according to Initial shape design of PF-BRB)

  • In this study, a prefabricated buckling brace (PF-BRB) was proposed, and a test specimen was manufactured based on the design formula for the initial shape and structural performance tests were performed. As a result of the experiment, all standard performance requirements presented by KDS 41 17 00 and MOE 2021 were satisfied before and after replacement of the reinforcement module, and no fracture of the joint module occurred. As a result of the incremental load test, the physical properties showed a significant difference in the stiffness ratio after yielding under the compressive load of the envelope according to the experimental results. It is judged necessary to further analyze the physical properties according to the experimental results through finite element analysis in the future.

기후변화에 의한 눈잣나무의 서식지 분포 예측 (Predicting the suitable habitat of the Pinus pumila under climate change)

  • 이 연구는 국립생물자원에서 선정한 기후변화생물지표 중에서 남한의 설악산에 제한적으로 분포하는 눈잣나무의 기후변화에 의한 잠재 서식지 예측을 위해 시행되었다. 눈잣나무의 잠재서식지 예측을위해 IPCC(AR5)의 대표농도경로(RCP)를 기후변화 시나리오로 사용하였다. 종 분포 모형은 Maxent를 사용하였고, 환경변수는 고도, 연평균기온 등으로 총 8개이다. 남한이 눈잣나무 분포지역은 설악산이 유일한 지역으로 지리적 범위는 위도 $38^{\circ}7^{\prime}8^{{\prime}{\prime}}N{\sim}38^{\circ}7^{\prime}14^{{\prime}{\prime}}N$ 경도 $128^{\circ}28^{\prime}2^{{\prime}{\prime}}E{\sim}128^{\circ}27^{\prime}38^{{\prime}{\prime}}E$ 범위에 국지적으로 분포하며, 고도는 1,586m~1,688m 범위에 분포한다. 종 분포 모형의 모형 정확도는 0.978으로 매우 우수하였고 잠재서식지 예측에 기여도가 높은 환경변수는 고도로 나타났다. LPT를 기준으로 선정된 현재기후의 잠재 서식지는 $7,345km^2$이며 기후변화 시나리오를 적용한 미래의 잠재 서식지 면적은 감소하였고 감소폭은 RCP 4.5보다 RCP 8.5가 많았다. 설악산의 눈잣나무 개체군 분포 지역은 한반도의 남방 한계선으로 예상되며 기후변화에 의해 개체군의 축소 및 소실이 예상되므로 전략적인 유전자원 확보를 위한 대책이 필요하다.

A study on the Frequency Analysis Function of the Auricle Using A Notch Filter

  • The human auricle is the first part to receive sound from the outside. In this part, the frequency range of human recognizable form is divided and organized. In this study, we propose modeling by applying a single sound source to the surface of the human auricle. This means that when the sound pressure of a low frequency (low frequency) sound enters the pinna, the impedance felt at the tip of a part of the non-linear surface of the pinna is mainly due to the tensile force at the end of the part of the non-linear surface of the pinna. By expressing the situation of moving at a very small speed, the characteristic impedance of the pinna was confirmed to be negative infinity, and it was also confirmed that the speed at the tip of a part of the non-linear surface of the pinna was 0 in the anti-resonance state. It was found that the wave propagation phenomenon that determines the characteristics of the filter is determined by how large the wavelength, kL, is compared to the length of the tip of a part of the non-straight surface of the pinna. Humans first receive sounds from outside through their ears. The auricle is non-linear and has a curved shape, and it is known that it analyzes frequencies while receiving external sounds. The human ear has an audible frequency range of 20Hz - 20,000Hz. Through the study, we applied the characteristics of the notch filter to hypothesize that the human audible frequency range is separated from the auricle, and applied filter theory to analyze it, and as a result, meaningful results were obtained. The curved part and the inner part of the auricle function as a trumpet, collecting sounds, and at the same time amplifying the weak sound of a specific band. The point was found and the shape of the envelope detected in the auricle was found. Selectivity for selecting sounds coming from the outside is the formula of the pinna that implements the function of Q. The function of distinguishing human-recognizable sound from the pinna from low to high through frequency analysis is performed in the pinna, and the 2-3kHz area, where human hearing threshold is the most sensitive, is also the acoustic impedance of the most recessed area of the pinna. 선체 부착 소음/진동 센서를 이용한 함정 추진기 캐비테이션 초생 분석 비교 연구 (A comparative study of cavitation inception of naval ship's propeller using on-board noise and vibration signals)

  • 함정 추진기에서 발생하는 캐비테이션은 함의 생존성과 직결되어 있으며, 생존성 향상을 위해 추진기 캐비테이션 초생이 지연되는 추진기 형상을 요구하고 있다. 그러나 한번 함정이 건조되고 나면 다양한 운용 조건에서 캐비테이션이 발생할 수 있어, 설계 뿐만 아니라 운용 시에도 추진기 캐비테이션 발생 여부를 알 수 있어야 한다. 이를 위해 선내에서 계측한 신호를 이용한 캐비테이션 발생 여부 판단이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 추진기 상방 선체에 하이드로폰과 가속도계를 설치하여 추진기에서 발생하는 음향/진동 신호의 상관관계와 각 센서를 이용한 캐비테이션 초생 분석 성능에 대해 비교를 수행하였다. 캐비테이션 발생을 시각적으로 파악하기 위하여 선미부에 관측창을 설치하여 고속카메라 계측을 수행하였다. 계측 결과 음향과 진동 신호 간 스펙트럼 형상은 다르게 나타났으나, 선속에 따른 밴드별 레벨 증가분, 1 kHz ~ 10 kHz 대역의 전체 레벨 등은 비슷한 경향을 나타냈다. Detction of Envelope Modulation On Noise(DEMON) 분석에서도 음향과 진동신호 모두 비슷한 결과를 보여주었으며, 이를 통해 추진기 캐비테이션 발생분석에는 하이드로폰과 가속도계 모두 활용할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • Random 지반운동에 대한 면진수조구조물 응답의 추계학적 해석방법을 연구하였다. 유연한 벽체와 내부유체간의 유체구조물 상호작용은 유체운동의 유한요소 모델링에 의하여 얻어지는 부가질량행렬 형태로 고려되었다. 정상(定常)(Stationary)지반운동으로는 수정된 Clough-Penzien Spectral Model이 사용되었으며, 비정상(非定常)(Nonstationary)지반운동으로는 상기모델에 포락함수를 적용한 모델을 사용하였다. 운동을 지배하는 Lyapunov Covariance Matrix 미분방정식의 해를 구하여 두 종류 면진시스템의 정상응답 및 비정상응답을 해석하였다.

Mature HIV-like Particles Produced from Single Semliki Forest Virus-Derived Expression Vector

  • Human immunodeficiency virus-like particles (HIVVLPs) with native conformations similar to that of the wild-type virion could be valid candidates for vaccine development. To this end, we used a Semliki Forest Virus (SFV) expression system to produce HIV- VLPs containing high quantities of native envelope proteins. Here, we described a single SFV replicon containing the HIV gagpol and env genes under the control of separate subgenomic promoters. Mature VLPs incorporating the Gag and Env proteins were detected in the supernatant of replicon-expressing cells by Western blot analysis. The HIV-VLPs showed the expected molecular density (1.14-1.18 g/ml) on a $20-60\%$ sucrose gradient; the particles were 100-120 nm in diameter and Env proteins were observed on their surfaces by immunogold electron microscopy. RT-PCR analysis of VLP-associated RNAs in mature HIV-VLPs revealed two SF V-derived RNA species (full-length and subgenomic). Immunization studies in Balb/c mice showed that these HIV-VLPs were capable of inducing both HIV-specific antibodies and cell-mediated immune responses. Taken together, our results indicate that the SFV replicon system is useful for the production of HIV-VLPs, which may be valuable candidates for an HIV vaccine.

레이라이 페이딩하에서 FFH/BFSK 시스템의 diversity를 이용한 성능 분석 (A Performance Analysis of FFH/BFSK System Using Diversity Under Rayleigh Fading)

  • 본 논문에서는 군용 통신의 목적과는 달리 의도적 또는 비의도적인 재밍(Jamming)현상 보다는 전파의 다경로 채널에서 수신 신호 포락선의 변동으로 인한 레이라이 페이딩이 있을 때 고속 주파수 도약(FFH) BFSK 시스템의 성능을 분석하였다. 다경로 페이딩 채널과 레이라이 페이딩을 이론적으로 정리하고 페이딩이 없을때와 있을 때 시스템의 성능을 알아보았다. 이 시스템에 경로 다이버시티를 적용하였을 때 약 20dB이상의 성능 개선이 이루어 짐을 알 수 있었다. 주파수 변조 방식이 DPSK일때와 비교하였다.
