영어마을은 한국 고유의 영어교육 모델로서, 2004년 최초 설립이래로 지금까지 전국적으로 설립 운영되어지고 있다. 이에 영어교육관계자들은 영어를 자연스럽게 사용할 수 있다는 점에서 영어마을에 많은 관심을 보이고 있다. 하지만, 영어마을 프로그램에 대한 효과성을 입증할만한 영어마을 프로그램 개발에 관한 논문은 아직 미비하다. 본 연구는 효과적인 영어마을 프로그램으로 과업중심 프로그램을 개발하고 실행하는데 목적이 있다. 연구현장으로 'A' 영어마을이 선정되었고, Brown[17]과 Long과 Crookes[36]가 제안한 모형을 바탕으로 영어마을 프로그램을 개발하였다. 본 연구는 프로그램 개발 7단계를 제시하고, 각각의 단계에 대한 설명과 활동을 소개하였다. 마지막으로 실제 적용 사례를 바탕으로 운영시 고려해야 될 점을 논의 하였고, 본 연구가 과업중심 어린이영어교육에 시사하는 바를 제시하였다.

글로벌 시대에 접어들면서 세계 공용어인 영어의 필요성이 끈임 없이 논의되는 현재 상황에서 정부는 1997년 영어를 초등학교의 정규교과로 채택하였으며, 현재에 이르러서는 영어전담교사는 물론 원어민 영어 강사까지 배치하는 정책 변화가 있어 왔다. 또한 영어교육은 학교에서 뿐만 아니라 사설 기관 및 정부차원의 영어 관련 교육기관들이 생겨나기 시작하였으며, 2000년대 들어서는 지자체에서 영어교육의 관심이 증대되는 상황에 놓이게 되었다. 그런 현상들을 반영하여 나타난 것이 대표적으로 영어마을 이라 하겠다. 서울 경기지방을 비롯하여 거의 모든 지방자치단체에서 각 지역에 맞는 영어마을을 직접운영하거나 민간업자에게 위탁 경영하고 있는 실정이다. 여러지방에서 이루어지고 있는 영어체험센터 및 영어마을들이 어떻게 운영되고 있는지 알아볼 필요가 있고 또한 영어체험 센터를 수료한 학생들의 성취도등을 선행연구로 조사해 보고자 한다. 연구 방법은 현재 운영중인 영어마을, 그리고 체험센터에서 실시하는 프로그램을 분석함으로써 그들의 효과를 알아보았다. 프로그램을 분석한 결과로 대부분의 영어마을 체험센터는 나름대로 소정의 목적을 달성하고 있었다. 여기서는 분석 자료로 사용한 서울과 경기 부산 영어마을 그리고 전라남도 영어체험 프로그램의 자세한 내용과 그것들의 개선방안을 제시하는데 본 연구의 목적이 있다 하겠다.

We live in a global village that requires a language with a genuinely global status as a means of communication. During the twentieth century, English has clearly emerged as the lingua franca owing to both past British political imperialism and the more recent superpower status of the United States. Further contributing to world domination of the English language is the fact that the computer and Internet sprang from the US. Whether you like it or not, you are destined to learn English at least to some extent in order to live in this global village. For the last two decades, one of the most mistaken ideas a number of Korean English teachers have had is that speaking and listening are the primary forms of language, while reading and writing are secondary. In fact, reading is regarded as a skill of much consequence to us since it provides us with access to a huge quantity of information on the Internet, of which at least 80% is written in English. Writing, too, deserves a great deal of attention because we are increasingly called upon to use standard English expressions. As diligent learners of English, we had better not forget the place accorded to language not only as a medium for exchange and constructing information but as a tool for thinking. So we should try to think in English to the point where we have thinking-in-English as a habit, thereby leading to increased familiarity with the language. Such familiarity entails, above all, possessing a command of English.

As the world becomes a global village, national conferences become more frequent, and the language of choice to mediate the exchange of information is English. Accordingly, the purpose of this research is to find several methods to prepare L2 students for English communication at conferences. Various studies about discourse markers can be found in this study. Discourse markers are indicators of fluency in spoken language, and indicators of improvement from features of spoken English to more typical forms of formal writing. In this study the presentation styles of native speakers and Asian non-native speakers are compared, and the difference between efficient and non-efficient speakers at conferences are discussed. As a study of conference English teaching and learning method, this research targets suggestion and application of discourse markers for L2 speakers. As a result, the fact that discourse markers are very important in effective writing and conference English is found and accordingly we can see that developing the ability to use discourse markers in writing and speaking are essential for L2 speakers.

오프라인 English Zone이란 교실 내에서 학습자가 영어로 말하고 듣고, 알고 싶은 단어나 내용을 스스로 찾고 연습하고 그 결과를 확인할 수 있도록 만든 물리적 환경을 말한다. 그러나 제한적이고 인위적 환경에 의존할 수밖에 없는 오프라인의 English Zone은 쇼핑 존, 레스토랑 존, 병원 존 등의 소규모 영어 마을처럼 인위적인 공간을 설정하여 학생들이 자발적으로 Role Play를 체험할 수 있는 환경을 제공해야 하는 극히 제한적인 운영이 될 수밖에 없다. 본 연구의 목적은 이러한 오프라인에서의 English Zone 프로그램을 활용한 학습방법이 가지고 있는 환경적인 제한성의 문제점을 분석하고 유비쿼터스 개념에 기초하여 멀티미디어 도구 활용, 무선 인터넷 활용과 SNS를 활용한 온라인 English Zone 프로그램의 활용 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

The purpose of this research is to improve the writing ability of students by an ideal test model of English writing based on strategies of procedural learning stages enhancing the level of students' writing ability. Assessment of writing in the field of English education has been limited so far to very restricted areas with no appropriate scientific scrutiny. Assessment is really meaningful only when it exactly estimates the ability of students. Since English writing competence has become indispensable in this era of global village, writing instruction should be most emphasized. The most forceful method of busting writing instruction is to utilize the so-called washback effect of testing. So, to develop a good test model of writing, the first thing that is required is to inspect writing strategy in steps and, then, testing itself. First of all, analyzed with a special reference to the 6th high school English curriculum were the goals and contents of the syllabus reflected in one kind of junior high textbook and eight different kinds of senior high textbooks. Then questionnaires on the whole area of writing and tendencies of English writing classes were given to 100 English teachers, 300 students. The results of questionnaires were statistically analyzed. Then, some suggestions and opinions about the questioning method were made: the procedural strategy in steps, English writing instruction and test model of assessment were applied to the syllabus referring to teaching plans. On the bases of the results of the questionnaires, three pretests and a final test of English writing were administered to verify the effect of enhanced English writing competence which had been gradually promoted and, through the promotion, produced the test criteria of English writing. In conclusion, guidance and evaluation of English writing through in steps are really indispensable to increase student's practical ability and, accordingly, we are in need of the development of a testing method of useful writing practiced in school class above anything else. So, it is necessary to further the study on methods to assess writing ability on the bases of participation and fluency of students with their keen interest in English. Also, to intensify the effect of the test model, more accommodating reorganization of syllabus is required in our education. For instance, we need a flexible operation in organizing time units from the current 50 minutes to 100-130 minutes.

In some cases of the English landscape garden style in Germany, for example, Worlitz, Branitz etc., including Mu나며, I have found out invisible geometric figures, that must be on the basis of landscape gardening. Particularly the Muskau park. The church of the village "Gerg", outside of the park, and the "pucklerstein" are the bases of this diagram. Above all, I am convinced of my hypothesis of √2 diagram, while I can also understand, out of my analysis, the relations and descriptions of the park in the book of the gardner, Hermann Fust von Puckler-muskau, "Andeutungen uber Landscahaftsgartnerei". Finally, I wish to discuss, how to do the phenomena, 'picturesque motif and geometric figures of the English Landscape Garden.

지금 우리나라 대학은 심대한 교육환경의 변화에 직면에 있다. 교육 시장의 개방, 대학지원자의 감소, 학제 간 융합교육 연구의 필요성 증대, 정부의 대학 구조 개혁 정책추진, 실용적인 학문에 대한 사회적 요구의 증대 등으로 인해 과거 공급자 중심의 사고로서는 경쟁에서 생존할 수 없다. 따라서 새로운 교육 방법의 개발이 요구되고 있으며, 세계화가 가속화됨에 따라서 세계 공용어인 영어교육은 필수적이지만, 현재 전문대학의 영어교육환경은 언어의 기능만 강조하는 한정된 영어수업으로 제한되어 실제적인, 의사소통의 기회를 갖기 어려운 환경이다. 지금까지의 영어교육은 교과서를 중심으로 이루어졌으므로 현재의 상황과 교과서에 나타난 정보 내용이 일치하지 않는 경우가 많아 진부한 학습을 유도하는 경우가 많았다. 지금은 유연한 지식 정보의 시대이다. 산업시대의 행동주의에 근거한 교육은 고정된 지식의 주입으로 다양성, 창조성을 요구하는 정보화 시대에 무기력 할 수밖에 없다. 따라서 영어 교육에서도 우리가 배우고 가르쳐야 할 것은 '고정된 지식'이 아니라, 새로운 지식을 스스로 찾아내고 창조할 수 있는 '유연한 지식'이다. 졸업 후 대부분의 학생들은 호텔, 리조트, 관광여행사, 관광가이드 등으로 취업이 이루어지고 있으며, 취업 후에도 지속적인 영어활용 기회 및 외국인들의 한국방문 1,000만 시대로의 진입, 지역사회로의 많은 외국인 관광객 유입 등으로 어느 때 보다도 뛰어난 영어능력의 요구가 높아가고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구는 전문대학 영어 교육에서 애니메이션을 활용한 영어교육 방법론이 학생들의 영어 의사소통 능력과 영어 학습의 동기에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 또한, 정보통신기술의 발달 및 스마트 폰의 보급으로 시간과 공간의 구애를 받지 않고 TV, 영화, 애니메이션등과 같은 다양한 콘텐츠를 손안에서 시청하고 있는 추세에서, 구체적으로 '어떻게 애니메이션 활용을 통하여 영어 교수-학습의 효율성을 향상시킬 수 있는가' 라는 문제는 당면 과제라 할 수 있다. 언어교육은 다른 교육 적용의 방식이 함께 사용될 수 없다. 다른 교육과는 달리, 언어의 특성상 지식전달의 방식만으로는 한계가 있기 때문이다. 이 논문에서는 애니메이션 <겨울왕국>을 활용한 학생들의 기능적 영어 의사소통 능력 향상 및 자발적 동기를 향상시키기 위한, 교수-학습 모델 제시 및 애니메이션의 효과적인 적용 방안을 모색하고자 한다.

A prolonged farrowing interval is common on small farms in Nepal and may be attributable to the absence of boar contact at the time of weaning. To examine whether synthetic boar pheromone spray might be of value to aid the stimulation and detection of estrus, 30 village farms, each with a single sow, were recruited into a field study. All sows entered the study on final weaning from their first lactation at 56 days post partum. For 13 treatment sows, a boar pheromone spray (SOA, Intervet, Boxmeer, The Netherlands) was applied each day after weaning whilst 17 other sows did not receive any stimulus (negative control). When estrous was detected by the farmer, sows were taken to the nearest boar for service. There was a significantly shorter weaning to re-mating interval for treatment sows (42.9 V 82.2 day, p<0.05), with a significantly higher proportion of treatment sows rebred by day 60 after weaning (p=0.024, Fishers Test). It is concluded that use of boar pheromones can improve reproductive efficiency of sows kept under Nepalese village conditions.

This article proposes to stay away from contemporary critical arguments concerning Michael's value system, which is construed mainly from his choice between his patrimonial lands and his son Luke. Presuming that Michael's value system as have been argued so far could never be the poet Wordsworth's own concern at the time of the composition of the poem "Michael," this article proposes to get back to the all too real socio-historical situation of the early nineteenth-century England. Mere consideration of the socio-historical situation, when combined with a close reading of the poetic text (a close reading of both the poetic story and the poetic history from which the story may be said to have been constructed), directs us to the poet working on the simple paradigm of 'the country and the city at war with each other' but the victory having been given to the city already. The guarantee contract for a supposedly prospering nephew's debt and the letter from another prospering relative in London are undoubtedly the key elements that lead us to the war paradigm. Michael's family members, each and all including Michael himself, and all of their village people, have been imbued with the city's commercial values, which renders them all the more easier victims within the war context. Luke's defeat in the city is viewed as being really the consequence, rather than the cause, of Michael's defeat, which became apparent as soon as the news of the latter's financial disaster reached his ear. Michael should therefore be regarded as one of the typical English countryfolk of the time, with whom Wordsworth often, but not always, identifies himself. Insofar as the economic view or attitude is concerned, there certainly is a distance between Michael and Wordsworth, this article argues.
