  • This study aims at giving examples that can be applied in the real education field, and it develops theme-based integrative education program for Industrial Specialized high school students. It analyzed the models of many scholars about the development of education course, and devised developmental models and procedures of the theme-based integrative education program of engineering specialized high school from those. As a result, it used and reorganized ADDIE model which is the systematic education course development model and the theme-based integrative education development model of Frazee and Rudnitski(1995) as the basic structure, and came to devise theme-based integrative education program of engineering specialized high school while referring to creative engineering design education program development model by Lee Chang-hoon. This study that is theme-based integrative education program for engineering-specialized high school students and is the result of this study has the following characters. First, This theme-based integrative education program that is developed for engineering-specialized high school students can be applied and the initial example that approach the Theme-Based. Second, This Education Program included the Activity project that is "Making Maglev" for the third grade at the engineering-specialized high school and One of the Program's aim is to bring up their attitude that engaged to in the class having the Interest. Third, Theme-based integrative education program for engineering-specialized high school is composed the workbook for the students and the teaching guidance plan for the teachers. Workbook for the students is composed four Units;"Brief about the Maglev","Basic principles about the Maglev","Intensive principles about the Maglev", Activity project about the Maglev". And each unit is made by Learning Purpose, Introducing, Learning Contents(Deepen Learning, Reading Magazines), Assesment etc. Teaching guidance plan for the teachers include that Summary, Purpose, Time Planing & Streaming Map for the class, contents associated Maglev, prerequisite learning, constructure of the education program, flow chart, learning activity, assesment(self-appraiser and peer review).

  • Though the 'Program Educational Objectives' is the first and important criterion in ABEEK's engineering education accreditation, exact meaning and implementation methods have not been understood well. It was often confused with 'Program Outcomes' and its implementation and evaluation methods do not reflected well on the concepts of "outcomes based and demand driven education". A new implementation model for 'Program Educational Objectives' has been developed using step by step application. The model explains the meaning of every step (phase), and key constituents in each phase. The specialization and CQI of the program could be satisfied by applying the model properly.

  • As society has changed to being more knowledge-based, it is necessary that change of paradigm is incorporated into engineering education and the education goals and the assessment method of educational outcomes is developed to promptly meet the needs of the times. A purpose of this study is to measure learning outcomes in coursework of engineering college every semester, which ultimately provides to validate program outcomes. We looked into teaching-learning style of course in the engineering college and analyzed its grade method and tool. By use of a survey, we derived a reasonable method to measure for the learning outcomes in course and presented tools for course-embedded assessment to measure that learning outcomes had been tied to their objectives. These tools are effective to determine that program outcomes and education goals have been achieved, ultimately. In addition, it will help that instruction builds a loop system for better.

  • This paper deals with a 'Designeer' education program that has a specific objective of educating design to undergraduate students in mechanical engineering with the aim of enhancing their ability of collaboration with designers when they are going to work in the field after graduation. The entire curriculum of the Designeer education program is introduced first, the end of which two-semester Capstone Design Courses for senior students is offered to let them practice all the knowledge and skills in a project-based learning environment. Learning specific matters such as sketching & visual thinking, prototyping and user experience design is one thing and practicing those knowledge and skills into a Capstone Design project is another. At this point, design thinking process needs to be in place to give students a foresight of one-year journey and to ensure that they will produce a desirable, feasible and viable product at the end of the year when they define the right problem at the beginning. Their frustrations and discoveries while applying design thinking throughout the year is explained by taking an example of a Robot Vacuum Cleaner design project. Finally, we provide real examples of effective methods to practice divergent and convergent phases.

  • In the regular evaluation of engineering education accreditation, there should be almost no deficiencies in the program educational objectives, but they are occurring frequently. From the regular evaluation in 2021, the second deficiency is judged as conditional certification. This paper presents an example of the application of the program education goal adequacy review system considering changes in the social environment with a relatively low understanding of educational goal setting while preparing for the engineering education certification system and certification evaluation. In addition, application cases are presented focusing on the certification criteria, engineering education certification judgment guide, and self-study report form for the linkage application between detailed certification criteria in revising and improving educational goals.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the change of perceptions and images of teachers about engineering, according to practical training in laboratories of engineering research institutes. For this purpose, 149 elementary and secondary school teachers were surveyed before and after visiting the engineering research institutes and examined the perception of engineers and engineering. Through this teacher training program, perceptions and images of most teachers are changed positively and they can understand practically about engineering, and related fields. The results of this study can be used as basic data for the development, operation, and expansion of teacher training using advanced science and technology research institutes with excellent human and material resources.

  • The aim of this study suggest the THAMS Clinic Camp program to train the interdisciplinary students with humanistic knowledge as well as the skills to perform the scientific and engineering works. Since the future of society is required students with the ability to elicit an emotional empathy, THAMS Clinic Camp program has been planed and performed from year 2012 based on the comprehensive liberal learning. The average employment rate over the past three years of the students who participated in THAMS Clinic Camp program showed 7% better than the overall average employment rate of Andong National University. The another visible educational outcomes of the THAMS Clinic Camp program are following; i) To take place the conversion of recognition for the interdisciplinary activity by breaking down the walls between fragmented disciplines to students and ii) To provide the opportunity that students will understand the past and refocus the current to have the idea to plan for the future in the right direction.

  • Recently, convergence engineering is emerged technology to make a whole new conceptual methodology attractively more than we previously developed the distinct technology for engineering college students particularly. Based on convergence methodology, we utilize the open-source electronic prototyping platform named Arduino enabling users to create interactive electronic objects and the automata that is generally referred to a wooden moving, mechanical device or art of work in order to develop the creative convergence education program. We have confidence that our education program can lead the development of automata and information technology simultaneously and can nurture talented students who have creativity and originality in engineering college.
