  • Multipath Transport Control Protocol (MPTCP) is a transport layer protocol that enables multiple TCP connections across various paths. Due to path heterogeneity, it incurs more energy in a multipath wireless network. Recent work presents a set of approaches described in the literature to support systems for energy consumption in terms of their performance, objectives and address issues based on their design goals. The existing solutions mainly focused on the primary system model but did not discourse the overall system performance. Therefore, this paper capitalized a novel stochastically multipath scheduling scheme for data and path capacity variations. The scheduling problem formulated over MPTCP as a stochastic optimization, whose objective is to maximize the average throughput, avoid network congestion, and makes the system more stable with greater energy efficiency. To design an online algorithm that solves the formulated problem over the time slots by considering its mindrift-plus penalty form. The proposed solution was examined under extensive simulations to evaluate the anticipated stochastic optimized MPTCP (so-MPTCP) outcome and compared it with the base MPTCP and the energy-efficient MPTCP (eMPTCP) protocols. Simulation results justify the proposed algorithm's credibility by achieving remarkable improvements, higher throughput, reduced energy costs, and lower-end to end delay.

  • Accelerating ability is one of the most important performance of the vehicle. Unlike conventional internal combustion vehicles and power-assist hybrid vehicles, the maximized acceleration of dual mode hybrid vehicles is not simply. achieved by maximizing engine or motor torque Because of the dynamic stability of planetary gear, speeds and torques control of engine, motor 1 and motor 2 is essential and according to control value, acceleration performance is changed There are two control values which are velocity and torque for each component totalling six. These six values can be variables for an objective function. However, because three velocity variables can be regarded as only one variable speed ratio and the remaining three torque variables can be solved analytically, without complicated numerical algorithm the solution for the objective function can be obtained. This optimized solution shows the best performance possible to the specified dual mode system.

  • For reaction injection molding (RIM) polyurethane was mixed in the mixing head by impingement mixing, injected into the mold, and cured quickly, as soon as the mold is filled. The shape of the nozzle in the mixing head is critical to improve the quality of polyurethane. To achieve homogeneous mixing, an intensive turbulence energy in the mixing nozzle is essential. In this study, a mixing nozzle for RIM was designed, and mixing efficiency was investigated based on experiment. Experiments were conducted with different combinations of nozzle tips and exit diameter to measure the mixing efficiency by measuring jet force and investigating mixing image with high speed camera. Jet force increased gradually and reaches steady state conditions. The jet force depended on shape of nozzle tip and outlet sizes. These results suggest that optimized nozzle configurations are necessary for high efficiency mixing with RIM.

  • Spectral energy distribution camera for QUasars in EArly uNiverse (SQUEAN) is a successor of Camera for Quasars in EArly uNiverse (CQUEAN) which was developed by Center for the Exploration of the Origin of the Universe and operated at the 2.1 m Otto Struve Telescope in the McDonald Observatory, USA, since 2010. The software of SQUEAN controls a science camera, a guiding camera, and a filter wheel, and communicates with the telescope control system (TCS). It has been constantly revised and modularized according to the upgrades of the TCS and the hardware changes. Recently we have implemented the stable network communication and the semi-automatic focusing modules to enhance observational convenience. In this presentation we describe the current status of the SQUEAN control software and introduce a software architecture which is optimized on efficient astronomical observations.

  • In order to improve the device performances of organic electroluminescent devices (OELDs), the efficiency of carrier injections into the organic layers from electrodes and the balance of injected carrier densities in the emission region are critical factors. Especially, energy barriers, which exist at the interfaces between electrodes and organic layers, interrupt carrier injections, which lead to unbalanced carrier densities. In this study, ${\alpha}-septithiophene$ (${\alpha}$-7T), as a buffer layer, and composite cathode composed of Al and CsF were formed to improve hole and electron injections, respectively. The orientations of ${\alpha}$-7T molecules were adjusted using the simple rubbing method and the mass ratio of CsF was varied from 1 to 10 wt%. Upon investigation of we believe that the 3 wt% mass ratio of CsF and the horizontal orientation of ${\alpha}$-7T molecules are the optimized conditions for achieving better the performance of OELDs. Device with the horizontally oriented 20 nm thick ${\alpha}$-7T layer and composite cathode shows a turn-on voltage of 7V and luminance of 172 cd/$m^2$ at 4 mA/$cm^2$.

  • In this study, the core dynamics of a PWR reactor is identified online by a recursive least-squares method. Based on the identified reactor model consisting of the control rod position and the core average coolant temperature, the future average coolant temperature is predicted. A model predictive control method is applied to designing an automatic controller for the thermal power control of PWR reactors. The basic concept of the model predictive control is to solve an optimization problem for a finite future at current time and to implement as the current control input only the first optimal control input among the solutions of the finite time steps. At the next time step, this procedure for solving the optimization problem is repeated. The objectives of the proposed model predictive controller are to minimize both the difference between the predicted core coolant temperature and the desired temperature, as well as minimizing the variation of the control rod positions. In addition, the objectives are subject to the maximum and minimum control rod positions as well as the maximum control rod speed. Therefore, a genetic algorithm that is appropriate for the accomplishment of multiple objectives is utilized in order to optimize the model predictive controller. A three-dimensional nuclear reactor analysis code, MASTER that was developed by the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) , is used to verify the proposed controller for a nuclear reactor. From the results of a numerical simulation that was carried out in order to verify the performance of the proposed controller with a $5\%/min$ ramp increase or decrease of a desired load and a $10\%$ step increase or decrease (which were design requirements), it was found that the nuclear power level controlled by the proposed controller could track the desired power level very well.

  • The past earthquakes revealed the importance of the design of moment-resisting reinforced concrete framed structures with ductile behavior. Due to seismic activity, failures in framed structures are widespread in beam-column joints. Hence, the joints must be designed to possess sufficient strength and stiffness. This paper investigates the effects of fibers on the ductility of hybrid fiber reinforced self-compacting concrete (HFRSCC) when subjected to seismic actions; overcoming bottlenecks at the beam-column joints has been studied by adding low modulus sisal fiber and high modulus steel fiber. For this, the optimized dose of hooked end steel fiber content (1.5%) was kept constant, and the sisal fiber content was varied at the rate of 0.1%, up to 0.3%. The seismic performance parameters, such as load-displacement behavior, ductility, energy absorption capacity, stiffness degradation, and energy dissipation capacity, were studied. The ductility factor and the cumulative energy dissipation capacity of the hybrid fiber (steel fiber, 1.5% and sisal fiber, 0.2%) added beam-column joint specimen is 100% and 121% greater than the control specimen, respectively. And also the stiffness of the hybrid fiber reinforced specimen is 100% higher than the control specimen. Thus, the test results showed that adding hybrid fibers instead of mono fibers could significantly enhance the seismic performance parameters. Therefore, the hybrid fiber reinforced concrete with 1.5% steel and 0.2% sisal fiber can be effectively used to design structures in seismic-prone areas.
