  • Due to the temporal variation of inflow/outflow, the water tank is needed. For the calculation of water tank capacity, the absolute difference between cumulative amounts of supply(e.g., rainfall) and demand(e.g.,watering) is used. No matter the (-) and (+) the absolute maximum capacity of the subtraction is calculated as the capacity. In this paper, using rainfall and watering of greenhouse facilities, it is proved that the non-linear supply or demand can be applied, and it is proved also that the greater non-linear variation case. And as the time interval for monitoring is decreased, the basin or tank volume are increased, with approximately 10 days as the critical monitoring interval for the annual natural rainfall event.

  • This study is about the recycling technology of scrap a PCB(printed circuit board) produced in home appliances or automobile industry. And we develop the recycling technology of cooper (Cu)which is contained to leaching solution. In stead of electrolytic collecting in existing sulphuric atmosphere, we apply process using the ammonia solution which is used in economizing energy. So m the process of electrolyzing scrap a PCB through the leaching and separation, we examine the effect of the nickel contained to the solution and the cooper degree of purity which is changed according to current density.

  • With the development of the industry, such as homes and industries of electric energy usage and thereby increase the supply of electrical energy for power generation facilities were also increased. Among them an increase in thermal power plants, such as Bottom Ash was accompanied by an increase in industrial waste. If fly ash is recycled, some ten thousand Fly Ash and Bottom Ash Landfill, the recycling rate is low in most. In this study, in order to resolve the problem of fly ash recycling Bottom Ash to take advantage of low physical and chemical characteristics were analyzed. Evaluation of Physical Properties of Bottom Ash In addition, through the evaluation of functional properties of additives chogyeol condensation of 1 hour or more, within 3 hours of closing, Flow has more than 190mm of wheel load resistance value is less than 3mm flooring developed to study the subsequent emphasis on the Properties is based. Through these studies by developing a functional flooring help with the problem of resource depletion, and losses due to reclamation and pollution is to prevent.

  • Modern livestock production facilities face both challenges and opportunities with respect to sustainable manure management practices. Nutrient recycling is constrained by the size of modern livestock operations, the low nutrient density of liquid manures, and the spatial and temporal variability of manure nutrient concentrations. These constraints can and must be addressed or farmers will be increasingly drawn to nutrient wasting strategies such as anaerobic lagoons, wetlands, and other systems designed to treat and discharge nutrients to the environment. Intentional discharge of nutrients is difficult to justify in a sustainable agricultural production system, since replacing those nutrients through chemical fertilization requires considerable expenditure of energy. In contrast, there are several currently viable technologies which provide the homogenization and stabilization needed to successfully compete against chemical fertilizers, including composting, pelletization, and anaerobic digestion. Some of these technologies, particularly anaerobic digestion and composting, also open up increased opportunities to market the energy and nutrients in manure to non-agricultural uses. Future advances in biotechnology are likely to demonstrate additional options to transform manure into fuels, chemicals, and other non-agricultural products.

  • An establishment of dioxin-reduction operating skill for medium sized incineration facility is urgently needed in Korea with nearly 90% of medium sized incineration. Using lattice stoker incineration processing the capacity of 20 tons industrial general waste per day, similar properties of the household waste, dioxin-reduction is derived in optimum operating condition and parameters. As a result, CO haunting which is the minimization of frequency is found as the major parameter to minimize dioxin.

  • A kinetics study on the dissolution reaction of zinc-ferrite has been made with aqueous sulfuric acid in various temperature and concentration. Fraction reacted(R) and apparent rate constant(K) increased with increasing temperature and concentration of sulfuric acid solution. The rate of dissolution is shown by $1-(1-K)^{1/3}=Kt$ for the initial stage of the reaction in aqueous sulfuric acid, where K is apparent rate constant, R is fraction reacted and t is reaction time, respectively. Activation energy associated with reaction was determined to be 16.3 kcal/mole. The dissolution of zinc-ferrite in sulfuric acid solution is dissolved by sto-ichiometric composition, but Fe and Zn did not dissolved, respectively.

  • LCA is a tool to support for making decisions by offering information of environmental aspects of products or services. It can be used to make decisions to consumers and NGOs as well as government and enterprises. LCA evaluates the environmental aspects throughout the entire life cycle of a product. Therefore it can quantify and assess environmental impacts from raw material acquisition, manufacturing, distribution, use and disposal to end of life and recycling. The demands of the recycling rate increase and the use of suitable materials for RoHS, REACH, WEEE, ELV which are linked trade with environmental regulation have increased the worldwide. Global warming is the critical challenge of the world facing. And under post-Kyoto protocol each country has to prepare for target reduction, so it became essential to save energy and resources. In addition that, the carbon mark has been run as the way of showing example of CO2 reduction in domestic and it will be extended gradually. And also through the introduction of Eco-label, environmentally-friendly product will be promoted. When those systems are operated, global warming gases (i.e. CO2) can be calculated throughout the entire life of the products by LCA. And the environmental impacts such as harmful material emission in the process of manufacturing, energy consumption, distribution and so on, can also be assessed. Therefore, The basic concepts of LCA technique and various cases and the practical application in the future will be review in this study.

  • The sulfuric acid leaching of ferromanganese dust was studied. The effect of acid concentration, reaction temperature, stirring rate, particle size and solid to liquid ratio on Mn and Fe extraction in the solution were investigated. It was found that the leaching rate of Mn and Fe increased with increasing reaction temperature and sulfuric acid concentration. Examination of data by shrinking core model suggested that the leaching rate is controlled by chemical reaction at the surface of particle. The activation energy for the leaching reaction of Mn and Fe were calculated to be 79.55 kJ/mol and 77.48 kJ/mol, respectively.

  • The objective of this study was to research the mineralogical characteristics and removal of heavy metals of tailings from Gum-poong mine. From the result of mineralogical analysis, there are several sulphide minerals such as chalcocite, aresenopyrite, pyrite, sphalerite and galena. Cd and Zn have a good positive correlation from the statistical relation between Cd and other heavy metals(Cu, Pb, Zn). Residual heavy metals(As, Cd, Cu, Pb, Zn) from the Gum-poong tailings were removed under the warning criteria from the result of froth flotation with K.A.X.(Potassium Amyl Xanthate) and Aerofloat 211.
