  • This paper investigates the performances of GFRP bar and its possibility for using a substitute of steel bar. GFRO bar was made with introducing the glass fiber into GTR added UPE. We carried out the tensile test of GFRP and steel bar and out the three point bend test bond-test and fracture energy measurement on the GFRP bar and steel bar reinforced concrete. The GFRP bar was excellent as comparison with steel bar in the contribution to the energy absorption and the ductility of concrete. But its tensile, bond and bend strengthes were comparatively small. In order to improve these defects, we judged that glass fibers in GFRP bar must be completely adhesive one another by the impregnating glass fibers into UPE.

  • Dynamic fracture is investigated in plate applied by impacting bar. Numerical simulations of the experiments are made by using a finite element method(FEM) code, LS-DYNA. The eroding surface-to-surface contact allows between impacting bar and impacted plate. The occurrence of hourglass deformations in an analysis can invalidate results and hourglass energy is minimized to obtain the good accuracy of result. Total, internal and kinetic energies, von Mises plastic stress and X,Y,Z velocities of impacting bar are analyzed in this study.

  • Learning control of a robot manipulator is proposed using the backpropagation neural network. The learning controller is composed of both a linear feedback controller and a neural network-based feedforward controller. The stability analysis of the learning controller is presented. Three energy functions are selected in teaching the neural network controller : 1/2.SIGMA.vertical bar torque error vertical bar $^{2}$, 1/2.SIGMA..alpha. vertical bar position error vertical bar $^{2}$ + .betha. vertical bar velocity error vertical bar $^{2}$ + .gamma. vertical bar acceleration error vertical bar $^{2}$ and learning methods are presented. Simulation results show that the learning controller which is learned to minimize the third energy function performs better than the others in tracking problems. Some properties of the learning controller are discussed with simulation results.

  • Coupling beams subject to cyclic loads exhibit different behavioral characteristics and energy dissipation capacity varying with re-bar layouts. In the present study, nonlinear analysis method was developed using analogous truss model. Using the numerical method, parametric studies were performed to investigate the behavioral characteristics and the energy dissipation mechanism of coupling beams with various re-bar layouts subject to cyclic loading. Based on the investigation, a simple and practical method for evaluating the energy dissipation capacity of coupling beams was developed and verified by experiments. The proposed method accurately predicted the dissipated energy during cyclic loading addressing design parameters such as re-bar layouts, re-bar ratio, and deformation. The proposed method can be easily applied to nonlinear static and dynamic methods for seismic analysis and design.

  • In regions of low-to-moderate seismicity, various types of lap splices are used for longitudinal reinforcement of columns at the plastic hinge zones. The seismic performance of such lap spliced columns, such as strength, deformation capacity, and energy dissipation, is affected by material strengths, longitudinal re-bar size, confinement of hoops, lap splice location, and lap splice length. In the present study, cyclic loading tests were performed for columns using three types of lap splices (bottom offset bar splice, top offset bar splice, and splice without offset bend). Lap splice length($40d_b$ and $50d_b$) was also considered as test parameters. Ties with 90-degree end hooks were provided in the lap splice length. The test results showed that strength, deformation capacity, and energy dissipation of columns significantly differed depending on the details and the length of lap splices. The bottom offset bar splice showed high ductility and energy dissipation but low strength; on the other hand, the top offset bar splice and the splice without offset bend showed high strength but moderate ductility and energy dissipation.

  • Objectives : This is the study to understand of the pulse wave factor according to BMI and period of sterility on female, and to confirm the relationship of pulse wave factor among left and right inch, bar and cubit. Methods : The Questions and measurement of the pulse wave were operated with subjects(76 sterile females using on public health center). The measurement of the pulse wave was operated in 6 part of left and right inch, bar and cubit. The pulse wave was prior measured in part of left bar (i.e. interior pulsation part of radial process styloides in left hand), and next was measured in part of left inch and bar. And the pulse wave was operated samely in part of right inch, bar and cubit. Results : The results were as follows. The pulse energy of 6 part of left and right inch, bar and cubit was showed statistical significance and decreased in order of left inch, right inch, left cubit, right cubit, left inch, right bar. The left and right inch and cubit were showed numerical value of normal range, but left and right bar were showed lower pulse eneregy than normal range. Also left and right cubit were showed lower than left and right inch, and higher than left and right bar. In BMI, The pulse energy of left and right inch, cubit and the average of right hand was not showed statistical significance in the range of low-weight, normal, over-weight and obesity. But in the left and right bar and the average of left hand, the pulse energy of over-weight and obesity group were showed significantly higher than low-weight group. And the pulse wave factor was divided the pattern of h1 showing high numerical value in inch (Ap, As, Aw) and the pattern of Wm showing high numerical value in bar and cubit (RAI, Ad) Conclusions : The low pulse energy of bar was significant observation on the setting of oriental medical diagnostic index on sterilitas. Also, in the numerical value pattern of diverse pulse wave factor, it was divided the pattern of high numerical value in inch and the pattern of high numerical value in bar and cubit. On this, we think that the studies need in the future.

  • For the hydrogen production, Gas Lab and Gnc make alkaline watrer electrolyzer and found optimized condition of experimental parameters of cell material and operating procedures. For the commercial production, we saved electric power consumption and caloric based efficiency with over 70%. Used cell pressures are 10 bar, 30 bar and consumed electricity is $4,000A/m^2$, 4.19 kW ($T=100^{\circ}C$) at 10 bar. Another data is $2,000A/m^2$, 3.92 kW ($T=95^{\circ}C$) at 30 bar. Applied voltage is 1.75 V ($100^{\circ}C$, 10 bar), 1.64 V ($95^{\circ}C$, 10 bar), 1.81 V ($85^{\circ}C$, 30 bar), 1.76 V ($95^{\circ}C$, 30 bar). As cell temperature increase, applied voltage has been decreased and current has been increased. The concentration of KOH solution is 30 weight %.

  • The key component of a direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) is the membrane electrode assembly (MEA), which comprises a polymer electrolyte membrane and catalyst layers (anode and cathode electrode). Generally the catalyst layer is coated on the porous electrode supporter (e.g. carbon paper or cloth) using various coating methods such as brushing, decal transfer, spray coating and screen printing methods. However, these methods were disadvantageous in terms of the uniformity of catalyst layer thickness, catalyst loss, and coating time. In this work, we used bar-coating method which can prepare the catalyst layer with uniform thickness for MEA of DMFC. The surface and cross-section morphologies of the catalyst layers were observed by SEM. The performances and resistance of the MEAs were investigated through a single cell evaluation and impedance analyzer.

  • In this study, simulation work of HCNG refueling system was performed. The hydrogen was produced from steam reforming process by natural gas. The conversion of natural gas is increased as SCR is increased. but it was no significant difference more than 3 of SCR and fuel throughput is increased as GHSV is increased. Both conversion and fuel throughput levels was optimized when the $1700h^{-1}$ of GHSV. CNG was compressed from low pressure natural gas. For the mixing of $H_2$ and CNG is mixed with the high pressure conditions such as 400bar of $H_2$ and 250bar of natural gas. Single-stage compression was required more power than multi stage. So, multi stage compression was suggested for high pressure compression. We calculated the intermediate pressure to minimize total required power of compressors. The intermediate pressure for $H_2$ and natural gas were derived at 61 and 65 bar, respectively.

  • For commercialization of hydrogen refuelling station (HRS), we need to reduce the clearance distance for jet fire in the real entities in the HRS. Thus, we revisited the current regulations of clearance distance for jet fire in the law. The law in korea has been set up by replica of japan, not by our own scientific basis. Recently, sandia lab developed Hydrogen Risk Assessment Model (HyRAM) tools and we simulated a series of circumstances such as 10 to 850 bar with several leak hole sizes. In 850 bar with 10 mm diameter hole leak cases, it shows $4,981kW/m^2$ at 12 m separation from leak source and $1,774kW/m^2$ at 17 m separation from leak source. In 850 bar with 1 mm diameter leak hole, it shows $0.102kW/m^2$ at 12 m separation and $0.044kW/m^2$ at 17 m separation. Current law may be acceptable with 1 mm hole size with 850 bar.
