The objectives of this thesis were to search for effective methods of the livestock manure management through analysis of the livestock manure management cost and prepare for cuts in greenhouse gases emission by applying CDM in the fields of livestock in 2013. In the situation where most farmhouses are disposing the pig manure by ocean disposal, it is urgent to make an alternative plan since ocean disposal will be prohibited from 2012. Biogasplant is being highlighted from the point that can produce heat and electricity by using methane generated when the manure is disposed, and that can produce barnyard manure and liquid manure. As biogasplant generates energy using methane, it will contribute to decreasing global warming with the effect of greenhouse gases reduction, and trading emission reductions through CDM will result in creating revenue.
Objective: This study was conducted to assess the effects of replacing rice straw with different proportions of cassava pulp on growth performance, feed intake, digestibility, rumen microbial population, energy partitioning and efficiency of metabolizable energy utilization in beef cattle. Methods: Eighteen yearling Thai native beef cattle (Bos indicus) with an average initial body weight (BW) of $98.3{\pm}12.8kg$ were allocated to one of three dietary treatments and fed ad libitum for 149 days in a randomized complete block design. Three dietary treatments using different proportions of cassava pulp (100, 300, and 500 g/kg dry matter basis) instead of rice straw as a base in a fermented total mixed ration were applied. Animals were placed in a metabolic pen equipped with a ventilated head box respiration system to determine total digestibility and energy balance. Results: The average daily weight gain, digestible intake and apparent digestibility of dry matter, organic matter and non-fiber carbohydrate, total protozoa, energy intake, energy retention and energy efficiency increased linearly (p<0.05) with an increasing proportion of cassava pulp in the diet, whereas the three main types of fibrolytic bacteria and energy excretion in the urine (p<0.05) decreased. The metabolizable energy requirement for the maintenance of yearling Thai native cattle, determined by a linear regression analysis, was $399kJ/kg\;BW^{0.75}$, with an efficiency of metabolizable energy utilization for growth of 0.86. Conclusion: Our results demonstrated that increasing the proportion of cassava pulp up to 500 g/kg of dry matter as a base in a fermented total mixed ration is an effective strategy for improving productivity in zebu cattle.
In this study, the characteristics of the waste sector CDM project were analyzed through cluster analysis of the waste sector CDM project and the analysis of the CDM investment cost in waste sector using CDM project data registered with UNFCCC since 2008 when EU ETS phase 2 began. As of September 2020, 772 cases of CDM projects in waste disposal and disposal are registered. Biogas technology is the largest, followed by livestock manure processing and biomass production technology. The results of the cluster analysis are summarized as follows: First, on average, projects utilizing AWMS technology are small in size and relatively low in investment costs. This is judged to be relatively low investment costs due to previously attracted foreign investment capital. Second, the average investment cost of CDM projects considered along with waste (No.13), the energy industry (No.1) and agriculture (No.15) was higher than those involving only waste. The analysis of the factors determining the investment cost of the waste sector CDM project showed that, as with cluster analysis, the AWMS technology, which is a livestock manure treatment technology, was lower in the investment cost than those that use other technologies. As a result of multiple regression analysis, the investment cost of the CDM project was analyzed lower in the order of biomass, AWMS, LFG and biogas. Also, the higher the investment cost for CDM projects linked to waste, energy and agriculture, and the better the investment environment, the higher the investment cost. Although no statistical feasibility was obtained, the larger the annual emission reduction, the lower the CDM investment cost.
In this study, RPS system, one of the renewable energy support systems, is utilized for economic analysis of solar generation equipment and the fuel cost savings plan for controlled horticulture farms with high fuel-cost dependency and facility applicability were evaluated. On the exterior of the upper layer of glass greenhouse (9917$m^2$) of controlled horticulture farms using bunker C oil, half of the area (4958$m^2$) was utilized for theoretical installation and operation of 450kW-level solar power generator, and as the result, first, the effect of investment cost only of solar generation system was found to be quite excellent, but it was analyzed that there were limits to saving the fuel costs of the controlled horticulture farms. Second, when geothermal system was first introduced in the farm and solar system was additionally introduced, it was analyzed that the effect of introducing solar system was excellent. In order to apply such effects to the sites of farming, partial supplementation of RPS system which is being uniformly applied regardless of the purpose of renewable energy is necessary. When the subject of use directly install facilities where it is directly connected to national added-value such as food security created by the farming industry, it is necessary to introduce appropriate system that corresponds to such. Moreover, it was studied that the quick development of demonstrative complex that can practically evaluate the applicability of renewable energy in farming industry and interest and preparation of related institutions in financial support structure for its site application would lead to success.

The effect of substituting potato by-products based silage (PBS) for concentrates on ruminal fermentation, methane production and nitrogen utilization in Holstein steers was evaluated. Three growing Holstein steers ($490{\pm}19kg$, initial body weight) were used in a $3{\times}3$ Latin square experiment with three experimental diets in which PBS was included at (1) 0, (2) 19 and (3) 27%, on a dry matter basis, replacing concentrates and wheat bran. Increasing replacement levels of PBS slightly increased dry matter (DM), organic matter (OM), NDF and ADF intakes by the steers (p<0.05). Inclusion of PBS at 19% increased crude protein (CP) digestibility of the experimental diets compared with the control (p<0.05). Substitution with PBS increased ADF digestibility and nitrogen retention (p<0.05), but did not affect energy retention. Energy loss as methane ranged between 5.0 and 6.1% of the total gross energy intake. There were no significant differences in carbon dioxide and methane production among all PBS levels, while daily methane production numerically increased with PBS inclusion. Substituting PBS for concentrates did not significantly affect ruminal pH and ammonia N concentration. Total VFA concentration, VFA molar proportions and blood metabolites were also unaffected by PBS replacement. These results suggest that substitution of PBS up to 27% of diet dry matter did not significantly increase methane production and was equal or superior to concentrates in ADF digestibility and nitrogen retention for growing steers.

An experiment was conducted in Vietnam to test the hypothesis that supplementation with cassava powder up to 2% of live weight (LW)/d (DM basis) would linearly increase digestible organic matter intake and LW gain of Laisind cattle. There were five treatments: a basal diet of elephant grass fed at 1.25% of LW and rice straw fed ad libitum or this diet supplemented with cassava powder, containing 2% urea, at about 0.3, 0.7, 1.3 or 2.0% LW. The cattle fed cassava powder at about 2.0% LW did not consume all of the supplement, with actual intake similar to the 1.3% LW treatment. Organic matter, digestible organic matter and digestible energy intakes increased (p<0.001) curvilinearly with increased consumption of cassava powder. Rice straw intake declined curvilinearly with increasing intake of cassava powder (p<0.001), and there was a small linear decline (p = 0.01) in grass intake. The substitution rate of cassava powder for forage was between 0.5 and 0.7 kg DM reduction in forage intake per kg DM supplement consumed, with no difference between treatments. Apparent digestibility of organic matter increased (p<0.001) in a curvilinear manner, while digestibility of neutral detergent fibre declined (p<0.001) in a curvilinear manner with increased consumption of cassava powder. Live weight gain increased (p<0.01) linearly with increased consumption of supplement. It was concluded that the amount of cassava powder fed should be limited to between 0.7 and 1.0% LW.
Foci of this thesis arc an estimation of willingness to pay and an establishment of green marketing strategics for environment-friendly agricultural products(EFAR). Estimations of willingness to pay for grain, vegetables, fruit and processed food-stuffs arc respectively 20.6%, 20.2%, 19.3% and 17.2% higher than agricultural products produced by conventional farming method. And a green mark6ting mix for EFAP is as follows; Erst, a product strategy focuses on producing safe and high-quality foods by environment-friendly agriculture(EFA) to point to consumer’s health and desire for environmental preservation. Second, in a price strategy, the balance of three factors should be kept, namely the environmental value the true quality as food materials and the price of EFAP. Third, a place strategy is to reduce waste matters, resource and energy uses in marketing chain, and to simplify marketing channels. Also, it is necessary to choose the marketing channel for price discrimination. Fourth, a promotion strategy make use of programs that emphasize the multi-function of EFA.
Purpose: The objective of this study was to evaluate the biogas productivity of agricultural by-products (ABPs) based on their proximate composition. Specifically, the effects of proximate composition were investigated, and a new mixing method was developed using various ABPs that are difficult to digest for biogas production. Methods: Experiments were conducted to compare the biogas productivity between a single ABP and a mixture of ABPs that had the same proximate composition as the single ABP. To match the proximate compositions of radish waste and corn distiller's dried grains with solubles (DDGS), mixed ABPs were made from various ABPs. Biogas potential tests (BMP tests) were performed at an organic loading rate (OLR) of 2.5 g VS/L and a feed to microorganism ratio (F/M) of 0.5 under the mesophilic condition. Results: The individual ABPs (radish and corn DDGS) and the mixed ABPs (cabbage waste with skim milk waste, bean-curd waste with skim milk waste, and some others) produced similar amounts of biogas. Conclusions: The new mixing method based on proximate composition can be applied to other ABPs and organic wastes from factories and municipal waste treatment plants to develop renewable energy and effective waste treatment methods.
Since 1997, Korean Ministry of Knowledge Economy and Ministry of Environment have established data on some 400 basic raw and subsidiary materials and process like energy, petro-chemical, steel, cement, glass, paper, construction materials, transportation, recycling and disposal etc by initiating establishment of LCI database. Regarding agriculture, Rural Development Administration has conducted establishment of LCI database for major farm products like rice, barley, beans, cabbage and radish etc from 2009, and released that they would establish LCI database for 50 items until 2020 later on. The domestic LCI database for seeds, seedling, agrochemical, inorganic fertilizer and organic fertilizer etc is only at initial stage of establishment, so overseas LCI databases are brought and being used. However, since the domestic and overseas natural environments differ, they fall behind in reliability. Therefore, this study has the purpose to select organic farming materials, survey the production process for various types of organic farming materials and establish LCI database for the effects of greenhouse gas emitted during the process in order to select carbon basic units for agricultural production system compliant in domestic situation instead of relying on overseas data and apply life cycle assessment of greenhouse gas emitted by each crop during the process. As for selecting methods, in this study organic farming materials were selected in the method of direct observation of material and bottom-up method a survey method with focus on the organic farming materials admitted into rice production. For the basic unit of carbon emission amount by the production of 1kg of organic farming material, the software PASS 4.1.1 developed by Korea Accreditation Board under Ministry of Knowledge Economy was used. The study had the goal to ultimately provide basic unit to calculate carbon emission amount in executing many institutions like goal management system and carbon performance display system etc in agricultural sector to be conducted later on. As a result, emission basic units per 1kg of production were calculated to be 0.0088kg-$CO_2$ for charcoal, 0.1319kg-$CO_2$ for grass liquid, and 0.2804kg-$CO_2$ for microbial agent.

In the previous study, we investigated the physical properties of new organic fillers made from major agricultural byproducts, including rice husks, peanut husks and garlic stems, and we estimated that rice husk was the best candidate for use as new organic fillers in paperboard. In this study, an organic filler prototype was produced with rice husk and the mill trials were carried out in a white liner chipboard (duplexboard) mill. The rice husk organic filler was added to the middle ply of SC $350g/m^2$ to determine the optimal conditions for the manufacture of rice husk organic fillers. The mill trials were performed three times and the bulk improvement and drying energy reduction were measured to identify the functionality of the rice husk organic filler compared to that of the commercial wood powder. In the first mill trial, the test failed because the surface roughness of the duplexboard had deteriorated after the rice husk organic filler was added to the OCC stock. As all of the particles remaining on the 60 mesh sieves were removed and the particle size was decreased by increasing the length of the grinding process, the surface roughness of the duplexboard did not be deteriorated in the second mill trial. However, the bulk improvement and drying energy reduction were not observed. In the final mill trial, as the particle size of the rice husk organic filler was controlled by increasing the portion of particles passing through the 60 mesh sieves and remaining 100 mesh sieves, higher bulk improvement and drying energy reduction were acquired compared to the commercial wood powder.
