In this paper, we present biomimetic hopping strategy which is more human-like for legged robot through stiffness modulation. Stiffness value is calculated from the motion of body center of gravity. This method enable to reduce impact force on touch-down, adaption on ground stiffness change and height modulation. Simple selected models will be used to validate this method. For general model, singular perturbation is used for control and simulation using stiffness modulation is presented.

A new dithering algorithm, "Hi-FRC", to enable full (16,777,216) color display on LCD panel with 6-bit source D-IC's is presented. The conventional FRC can display only 16,194,277 colors. In addition, The LCD panel with Hi-FRC can meet the color grayscale linearity of TCO '03 because it can improve the color shift problem.

One of the drawbacks of using diode-bridge rectifiers in the unity interface, is the line-current harmonic distortion caused by the nonlinear nature of the rectifier operation. So, a PWM converter for the power factor correction is analysed for unity power factor as well as low cost design, which enable to meet the limits of international standards.

A system to measure 3-dimensional coordinates of large structures is presented in this paper. In order to enable accurate measurements calibration of the measuring system is important. Feature of our system are that by introducting one simplified calibration procedures setting of the measuring system is simplified and also that tracking performance is increased. An experimental result reveals the applicability of our systems.

This paper presents four types of strut-tie model design approaches of structural concrete through the anchorage zone design of a post-tensioned concrete I-beam. The differences and distinctive feature of each approach in terms of structural type of selected strut-tie model, external force acting on strut-tie model, effective strength of concrete strut, and strut-tie model design procedure are analyzed and compared. The outcomes of present study enable structural designers to understand the merits and demerits of each strut-tie model design approach, and thus to conduct reasonable and accurate design of structural concrete.

The main purpose of the aeration units in activated sludge process is to enable micro-organisms to metabolize the constituents of the waste effectively by supplying sufficient oxygen for their respiration. Normally, aeration is achieved by bringing the mixture of waste and sludge into intimate contact with air. The main type of aeration unit is diffused air unit in which air is injected into the liquid in the form of bubbles. The object of these laboratory studies is to compare the performance of three laboratory scale aeration systems at various depths of submergence, aerating water with and without the addition of a surface active agent.

Four important attributes for successful fertilization by a spermatozoon are (ⅰ) correct morphology, (ⅱ) correct presentation of egg recognition and fusion molecules, (ⅲ) progressive motility and (ⅳ), correct transfer of signalling molecules from sperm to egg for activation of development. In this presentation, these topics will be described and illustrated with emphasis on the endogenous control mechanisms that enable spermatozoa to respond to external signals. (omitted)

The "Intelligent Fire detecting and Extinguishing System" is an up-to-date fire protection system for modern high-rise buildings, international airports, enormous industrial facilities, dome stadiums such as specific areas in which the application of our local fire protection regulation could not be satisfied. The state-of-the art initiating devices communicated with sophisticated network control panels enable peoples to get reliable and powerful suppressions using water or gas, providing absolute protection. The Intelligent Water Cannon System, the Low Pressure $CO_2$ System and the MXL Networking Fire Alarm System introduced in this paper accomplish the dynamic protection for the special hazards.

This paper provides computational algorithms for a Korean reflexive caki, for which both sentence-bound and long-distance readings are possible. Its analyses are based on Chierichia's theory in Categorial Grammar, and a CCG-like system is introduced for the implementation. In this system, we can get both readings of caki with the same resolution mechanisms, while the difference is where the reflexive is resolved. These algorithms enable us to account for the distributions and characteristics off long-distance reflexive caki with a more unified way.

In this paper we establish some recurrence relations for both single and product moments of order statistics from a doubly truncated linear- exponential distribution with increasing hazard rate. These recurrence relations would enable one to compute all the higher order moments of order statistics for all sample sizes from those of the lower order in a simple recursive way. In addition, percentage points of order statistics are also discussed. These generalize the corresponding results for the linear- exponential distribution with increasing hazard rate derived by Balakrishnan and Malik(1986)
