  • Purpose - Recently, Mobile technologies and devices including smart phones and tablets have increased the possibility of communicating with other people and sharing personal information without time and space restriction. In order to realize the market potential related to mobile technologies, a large number of internet services have been incorporated into mobile platforms. Especially, The number of MIM(Mobile Instant Messenger) users has been increasing dramatically and services using MIM platform also have diversified. In spite of drastic growth in markets related to MIM, there is little empirical research on MIM and users' behaviors. This study designed to examine the structural relationships among belongingness, loneliness, self-disclosure intention, system quality, and self-disclosure behavior in context of MIM. Research design, data, and methodology - Three hypotheses were about the relationship among belongingness, loneliness and self-disclosure intention. The other two hypotheses were about the moderating effect of system quality in the causal relationship between self-disclosure intention and self-disclosure behavior. The data was analyzed by structural equation modeling. Research data were obtained from 330 undergraduate students who were KakaoTalk users and total 314 valid questionnaires were used in the final analysis. Results - The results from this study are as follow. First, the belongingness and the loneliness had a significant impact on self-disclosure intention in MIM. Second, the self-disclosure intention in MIM also had a positive impact on the self-disclosure behavior. Lastly, there is a moderating effect of the system quality in the relationship between the self-disclosure intention and self-disclosure behavior in MIM. Specifically, the higher system quality level was perceived, the positive effect of the self-disclosure intention in MIM on the self-disclosure behavior was greater. Conclusions - Based on the results from this study, academic and practical implications can be drawn. First, the study extends the scope of research about SNS through focusing on MIM to be classified by closed type SNS and identifies the relationship between emotion, behavioral intention and behaviors in MIM. • Purpose - This study examines the adverse press coverage that has increased in proportion to the remarkable growth of various kinds of franchise businesses in the food service industry. Today, the trust of franchisees in relation to their franchisor, and the maintenance of good relations between the two, has become a significant social issue. This study investigates relationship satisfaction and the long-term commitment between the franchisor and franchisee. Research design, data, methodology - We used a path analysis to investigate the relationship between justice and trust, trust and relationship satisfaction, justice and relationship satisfaction, trust and long-term commitment, and relationship satisfaction and long-term commitment. Structural Equation Modeling and a Sobel test were used to investigate the mediating effects of trust and relationship satisfaction. Data were collected from 237 Food Franchisees in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province in order to test the theoretical model and its hypotheses. Two research methodologies are generally used in the distribution management field. For this study, an empirical method was used. Results - A causal analysis was carried out to test if the research model has a sufficient fit index (for instance, χ2 = 46.694, df = 10, p = .000, GFI = 0.946, AGFI = 0.850, RMR = 0.034, NFI = 0.966, CFI = 0.973), and the results showed that the model was sufficient, thus demonstrating the suitability of the research model. Each hypothesis had a positive influence, both on long-term commitment and relationship satisfaction. Justice with the franchisor had a positive influence on trust. Relation satisfaction cognized by franchisees was found to positively influence long-term commitment. The franchisee perception of justice in relation to the franchisor had no significant influence on long-term commitment. The study investigated the hypothesis that trust could mediate justice and long-term commitment, and that relationship satisfaction could also mediate long-term commitment Both trust and relationship satisfaction were found to be important for long-term commitment. Specifically, trust sub-factors and justice sub-factors influenced long-term commitment. Identification-based and knowledge-based trust were more important than calculus-based trust. Distributive justice was deemed more important than procedural justice; distributive justice should thus be strengthened. Conclusions - Both franchisor and franchisee were independent businesses. Evidently however, the franchisor could not ensure profit without long-term commitment from the franchisee. As for the success of the franchise business, the franchisor should carry out appropriate strategies leading to a satisfactory relationship. For example, transparency makes it possible to maintain and enhance trust and to improve relationship satisfaction. Just relations between franchisor and franchisee should make it possible to maintain and enhance the franchisee's trust. The franchisor should provide a variety of information with respect to the franchisee's business success. Finally, in order to improve the franchisee's long-term commitment, the franchisor should ensure a just approach with trust and relationship satisfaction among their strategies.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop an engineer competency model using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to improve the national technical qualification system. Korea has managed technical human resources at the government level through the operation of a national technical qualification system that certifies engineers with national certificates or technical grades by laws. However, there have been increasing concerns that the government system is separated from global standards and does not reflect an engineer's comprehensive capabilities. For these reasons, the new architecture of the system has been continuously discussed and becomes a major policy issue of the Korean government. For the development of the engineer competency model, domestic and global models were separately structured using 554 valid questionnaires with a consistency ratio (CR) of 0.1 or less. The relative importance of engineer competency factors in a domestic model was career (0.383), qualification (0.253), academic degree (0.195), and job training (0.169) whereas the order in the global model was career (0.308), global ability (0.237), job training (0.175), domestic qualification (0.147), and academic degree (0.134). The results of AHP analysis indicated that the evaluation factors and methods recognized by engineers were different from a current government model focusing on domestic qualifications. There was also perceptual difference in the importance of engineer evaluation factors between groups depending on the type of organizations and markets. This means that it is necessary to reflect the characteristics of organizations and markets when evaluating engineer competency. Based on AHP analysis and literature reviews, this paper discussed how to develop a new engineer competency index (ECI) and presented two effective index models verified by simulation test using 59,721 engineers' information. Lastly, the paper discussed major findings of our empirical research and proposed policy alternatives for the improvement of a national engineer qualification system. The paper contributes to the management of technical human resources since it provides quantitative competency models that are objectively developed by reflecting market recognition and can be effectively used by the policy makers or firms.

  • Fischer-Tropsch synthesis mainly produces a wax which is a viscous liquid for long carbon chain. When a catalytic fixed-bed reactor is used for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis, the wax generated on a catalyst surface can keep adsorbing on the catalyst surface. This liquid hold-up causes significant pressure drop and clogging problems through the reactor. Thus, the model for liquid hold-up is required to design the size of reactor and catalyst particles. In this study, the liquid hold-up model considering structural and operational conditions was proposed based on empirical equations for convective mass transfer between the syngas flow and the wax-adsorbed catalyst. The developed model was validated by comparing with the experimental data from Knochen's work (2010). The influence of reactor length and coross section on the wax hold-up in reactor were analyzed and the optimal reactor size were proposed.

  • The purpose of this research is to investigate the factors that impact customer satisfaction and loyalty in mobile payment services. Specifically, this research (1) studies the influence of company reputation on customer satisfaction and loyalty, (2) examines service quality dimensions that increase customer satisfaction, and (3) assesses switching barriers as moderators in influencing customer loyalty. Findings of this empirical research reconfirm the point of view that company reputation, service quality, and switching barriers are crucial for customer satisfaction in mobile payment services. The research methodologies that were used to verify the hypothesis in this study included customized surveys and structural equation modeling. The results demonstrated that company reputation significantly affects customer satisfaction and loyalty. Additionally, the results indicated that only two of the five total service qualities, ease of use and the security/privacy qualities, have positive influences on customer satisfaction. Customer satisfaction has also proven to be a significant influence on loyalty. Lastly, the results showed that among the factors of switching barriers, the factors of lost performance costs, sunk costs, setup costs, the attractiveness of alternatives, and service recovery have moderating effects on the relationships between customer satisfaction and loyalty. Base on the results, this research recommends that firms aim at devising integrated strategies that make switching barriers act as complements to customer satisfaction.

  • This paper presents development of an appropriate procedure and flow chart to analyze shale gas production data obtained from a multi-fractured horizontal well according to flow characteristics in order to calculate an estimated ultimate recovery. Also, the technical considerations were proposed when a rate transient analysis was performed with field production data occurred to only $1^{st}$ transient flow. If production data show the $1^{st}$ transient flow from log-log and square root time plot analysis, production forecasting must be performed by applying different method as before and after of the end of $1^{st}$ linear flow. It is estimated by an area of stimulated reservoir volume which can be calculated from analysis results of micro-seismic data. If there are no bottomhole pressure data or micro-seismic data, an empirical decline curve method can be used to forecast production performance. If production period is relatively short, an accuracy of production data analysis could be improved by analyzing except the early production data, if it is necessary, after evaluating appropriation with near well data. Also, because over- or under-estimation for stimulated reservoir volume could take place according to analysis method or analyzer's own mind, it is necessary to recalculate it with fracture modeling, reservoir simulation and rate transient analysis, if it is necessary, after adequacy evaluation for fracture stage, injection volume of fracture fluid and productivity of producers.

  • The parameters of lens such as focal length, focus, and aperture stop changes while shooting the scenes with zoom lens. Especially, zooming action dramatically changes the geometry of lens system that causes significant change of lens model. We investigated how the lens model changes while zooming in general shooting condition. Each parameters of lens model was estimated and checked whether they can be modeled well in the condition of auto-controlling focus, aperture and vibration reduction. In order to do this, calibration images were taken, modeled in different fecal length setting. And changing patterns of models were inspected to find out if there is some elements that have some particular pattern in changing with respect to focal length. The result showed us that although we didn't control the focus and aperture setting, there's specific changing patterns in radial and do-centering distortion. Especially, the strong linear correlation was found between coefficient of $r^2$ and focal length. It is expected that many parts of distortion can be eliminated without additional self calibration even if zoom operation is done when shooting the scenes if we know its fecal length and model of this coefficient.
