  • The cashierless store, which is rapidly spreading with the development of AI, is providing new shopping experiences to customers. However, the existing retail service research mainly focused on evaluation based on employees (people). This study was initiated to evaluate services by reorganizing these service evaluations according to the characteristics of cashierless store. In addition, the effect of the service experience characteristics of AI cashierless store on customers' positive or negative emotions was identified, and the effect on revisit intention was verified. As a result of this study, it was confirmed that the service experience characteristics of AI cashierless store had some effect on emotional response. In addition, it was confirmed that the positive emotional response caused by the characteristics of the AI cashierless store service experience induces revisiting, but the negative emotional response hinders revisiting. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the research and development of AI cashierless store services.

Methods: A survey was conducted in the subjects with dental hygienists who were working at general hospitals, dental university hospitals, and private dental clinics located in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Chungnam by the convenience sampling method from June 1 through 30, 2017, and the collected data were analyzed using by SPSS Windows Ver. 22.0 (IBM CO, Armonk, NY, USA) and AMOS 21. As the statistical analysis methods, convergent validity test, structural equation model analysis and model goodness of fit were conducted using independent samples t-test, one-way ANOVA, path analysis, and confirmatory factor analysis. Results: It turned out that the more dental hygienists' deep acting of emotional labor and the more their workload of job characteristics, the higher their job stress got, and that the higher their job stress, the higher their turnover intention got. Conclusions: As a method of lowering dental hygienists' turnover intention, they may resolve emotional disharmony with their own problem-solving method, but it is necessary to develop and support organizational culture for the improvement of working environment. Dental hygienists' organizations should implement the measures to minimize their turnover rate and job stress level by allocating appropriate workload.

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study is to analyze the characteristics of emotional intelligence and the variables related to emotional intelligence in a comprehensive manner. In addition, the study intends to present research trends and future research directions of emotional intelligence in a Korean context by analyzing the effects of emotional intelligence and its mechanisms. Research Design, Data, and Methodology: 77 KCI listed studies were selected for the analysis, and the research perspective of emotional intelligence, measurement instruments, empirical research and research methods were analyzed. In addition, research directions were suggested based on the analysis results. Results: The results of the analysis were as follows: First, previous researchers used the ability model of emotional intelligence the most. Second, Previous studies tended to focus on behavioral factors as dependent variables affected by emotional intelligence, in addition to attitudes, affection. Third, there were few studies on the antecedents of emotional intelligence, however, most studies dealt with the consequences of emotional intelligence. Fourth, few studies dealt with moderators between emotional intelligence and dependent variables. Fifth, on the research type, most studies were quantitative studies, however, a few of them were qualitative studies (Literature review, in-depth interview). Sixth, with regard to the analysis level, almost all studies were conducted on the individual level of emotional intelligence, and most studies featured a cross-sectional research design (longitudinal research design was rare). Conclusion: First, from the perspective of emotional intelligence, additional research should be focused on not only the ability model of emotional intelligence but also on the trait model or the mixed model in the future. Second, since emotional intelligence is a multidimensional construct, it is necessary to study the profile of emotional intelligence by employing people-centered as well as variable-centered methods. Third, with regard to empirical studies, additional research is needed with respect to not only the emotional intelligence of the subordinate, but also the emotional intelligence of the supervisor (leader) and the emotional intelligence of the group. Fourth, it is necessary to actively utilize not only cross-sectional design but also longitudinal design, and qualitative research and meta-analysis methods should also be adopted.

  • Even though the importance of emotional aspects in design has been discussed and researched actively, researches mainly focusing on the emotional aspects expressed through architectural materials have been rare. Thus, Previous researches were investigated to draw typical categories to express emotional characteristics through architectural materiality. Case study shows Zumthor's practical methodologies in these state: tectonic expression with creative tectonic methods and local residents' voluntary-participation in construction; enhancement of intimate emotional ties with the local heritage through the usage of local materials and traditional construction techniques; coexistence of past and present materials, and showing the change of materiality via weathering; activation of synesthesia by touching multiple senses; sustainability by using environment friendly materials and construction methods. The results can be hopefully helpful to future researches related to emotional aspects on spatial design.
