학령전 아동의 정서이해와 부모의 정서표현성 및 아동정서 수용태도와의 관계 (The Relation between Preschoolers' Emotion Understanding and Parents' Emotion Expressiveness and Attitude Toward Children's Emotion Expressiveness)

  • This study investigated the relation between preschoolers' emotion understanding and parents' emotion expressiveness and attitude toward children's emotion expressiveness. Subjects were ninety 3- to 5-year old children and their parents. Parents' emotion socialization was measured by PACES developed by Saami(1989) and FEQ developed by Harberstadt(1986). And preschoolers' identification of basic emotional expressions and expression of their own feelings and others' feelings in various situations were measured. Results revealed that 5-year-old children understood emotion better than 3-year-old children, and mother's positive emotion expression influenced children's emotion understanding. The results are consistent with recent research showing that parents emotion socialization may be important for preschoolers' emotion understanding.

  • Objective: This study examined differences in preschoolers' prosocial decision-making, emotion understanding in prosocial dilemmas based on the age and emotional conditions of a counterpart child, and the effects of emotion understanding on preschoolers' prosocial decision-making. Methods: The participants were 114 children (35 3-year-olds, 39 4-year-olds, and 40 5-year-olds). Each child was presented individually with prosocial dilemma tasks and was asked to make decisions and understand emotions (in prosocial and desire-fulfilled situations) based on the emotional conditions of a counterpart child. Results: First, the 4- and 5-year-olds showed more prosocial decision-making in prosocial dilemmas than the 3-year-olds. Prosocial decision-making was significantly lower when the counterpart child was angry, rather than neutral or sadness. Second, in prosocial situations, the 5-year-olds displayed higher positive emotion understanding scores than the 3-year-olds, And in desire-fulfilled situations, the 3-year-olds showed positive emotion understanding, whereas the 4- and 5-year-olds showed negative emotion understanding. Finally, children were more inclined toward prosocial decision-making when they showed higher emotion understanding in prosocial situations, lower emotion understanding in desire-fulfilled situations, and greater age. These were equal to all emotional conditions of the counterpart child. Conclusion: These results suggest that emotion understanding is an important component of social cognition, which effects preschoolers' prosocial decision-making.

A study on the arrangement of emotional words for understanding the human's emotion

  • The idia of modern product design is translated from the concept of functional importance as the basic function to that of emotional importance as the supplement function. In other words, the interests of the emotion in human performance side based on psychological factors of human are increased as well as the function in technical performance side based on physical factors of product. The standard emotional works for understanding the human's emotion are arranged in this paper. The standard emotional words are composed of words expressing the humaa's emotion. The adjectives adaptable to human's emotional works are collected from Korean dictionaries and arranged in the semantic differential(SD) scale. Next, the words with great marks evaluated by SD method are analyzed by factor analysis(FA) method and characterized as emotional words for understanding the human's emotion. The standard emotional words arranged in this paper are important because they are basic information for the development of product or technology as well as for the matter of emotional measurement technical development.

호텔기업 종업원의 감성지능이 고객지향성과 CRM성과에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Emotional Intelligence on the Customer Orientation and Customer Relationship Management Performance of Hotel Employees)

  • Purpose - This study aimed to (a) investigate the effects of emotional intelligence on customer orientation, (b) examine the impact of customer orientation on customer relationship management (CRM) performance (including CRM-related variables such as 'relationship commitment,' 'image of corporation,' and 'customer loyalty'), and (c) identify the conceptual framework of emotional intelligence. Research design, data, and methodology - The data were collected using a questionnaire given to a sample of employees of luxury hotels in the metropolitan area. To test the hypotheses, AMOS were conducted for the 271 respondents of the sample using the SPSS Win 17.0 software. The concept of emotional intelligence (EI) has been on the radar of many leaders and managers over the past few decades. Emotional intelligence is generally accepted to be a combination of emotional and interpersonal competencies that influence behavior, thoughts, and interactions with others. Emotional intelligence consists of four factors: understanding the self's emotion, understanding other people's emotions, emotion utilization, and emotion control. Understanding the self's emotion means to understand of my own emotions. Understanding other people's emotions is to understand of the emotions of the people around me and to know how my friends feel based on their behavior. The concept of emotion utilization means to set goals for myself and then try to achieve them, encouraging myself to do my best. The concept of emotion control means I can control my temper, handle difficult situations rationally, and calm down quickly when I am very angry. Results - As a result of the analysis, three factors (understanding the self's emotion, understanding of other people's emotions, and emotion utilization) were shown to have a significant effect on customer orientation. Emotion control had an insignificant effect on customer orientation. Only emotion control makes it difficult to solve customers' problems because it is a passive behavior. In order to solve the customers' problems, hotel employees have to show a positive attitude. Second, customer orientation had a significant effect on customer relationship management performance (customer relationship commitment, corporate image, and customer loyalty). In other words, customer orientation increases commitment to customer relationships. For example, employees who have a customer-orientated perspective provide good service to their customers, while employees who don't have a customer-orientated perspective can't satisfy their customers. Customer orientation can also generate a good image among customers, because they evaluate the image of a hotel through the behavior of hotel employees. So it is very important for employees to show excellent customer orientation. Conclusions - It is very important for hotel CEOs to manage their employees' emotional intelligence. In order to increase their employees' emotional intelligence abilities, CEOs have to manage the overall corporate culture and reward programs to achieve what they want. This is because the system can lead to a customer-orientated mind-set and CRM performance among employees. As a result, the hotel CEO has to pay attention to the emotional intelligence of employees to achieve strong CRM performance. The sentence as originally written was a bit unclear. The Relationship between Chinese Parents' Reaction to Children's Negative Emotions and Children's Understanding of Emotions

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate Chinese parents' reaction to their children's negative emotions and how these reactions relate to their children's understanding of emotions. Forty-two Chinese children (aged 4) and their parents participated in this study. Coping with Children's Negative Emotion Scale was given to parents to assess their reaction to their children's negative emotions. Children's emotional understanding was assessed using the modified emotional false-belief task and mixed emotion task. The results showed that Chinese parents gave supportive reactions more than non-supportive reactions to their children, and no difference in sex was found. The percentages of correct answers to false-belief task and mixed emotion task were low with no gender difference in both tasks. When age and sex of children were controlled, only fathers' supportive reactions to children's negative emotions significantly explained the variances in the level of children's understanding of emotions in both tasks. That is, children whose fathers showed greater supportive reactions to their negative emotions performed better at both tasks. It was concluded that fathers' supportive reactions to their children's negative emotions are very influential for emotional understanding among 4-year-old children in China.

게임성 정의를 위한 형용사 시소리스 (Emotional Term Thesaurus for the Design Characteristics of Games)

  • 인간의 감성을 이해하고 반응하는 인간 친화적 게임기술 개발은 게임을 디자인하는데 매우 중요한 요소이다. 게임에서 유발되는 감성 중 목표 감성에 도달하는 정도를 나타내는 의미로 게임성을 정의하는 것은 필요하다. 대부분의 감성관련 연구는 감성어휘 체계화를 통한 대표 감성을 추출하고 해당 디자인 소와의 연관관계로 감성을 평가하고자 하였다. 그러나 이러한 정의는 게임성에 대한 방향성을 이해하는데 긍정적인 면은 있으나 구체적이고 객관적인 플레이어의 감성을 표현 할 수 없는 단점을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 게임성에 대한 체계적 이해를 위하여 형용사 시소리스를 이용함으로써 감성적 표현을 플레이어의 의도에 따라 정확하게 나타낼 수 있도록 형용사의 의미적 상관관계를 분석할 수 있는 방안을 제안하였다.

아파트 커뮤니티에서의 거주자 감정지표 개발에 관한 기초 연구 (A Basic Study on Development of Residents Emotion Index in Apartment Community)

  • The purpose of this study suggests the emotion of residents as indexes in Korean housing environment for providing a fundamental guideline for precise dwelling social science and indicating the view for understanding of residents in korean housing culture in korea. So this paper explores the role of residents emotion indexes in housing environment and community. For this study, survey and depth-interview methods were used for data collection. The subjects were 514 housewives living in apartments. The statistical methods for data analysis were frequency, mean, multiple linear regression and logistic regression analysis using the SPSS 18.0 program The major findings are as follows: 1)Pride of neighborhood, pride of apartment complex and sense of superiority were important factors for residental satisfaction. 2)Conspicuous image of neighbors and active contact with neighbors were import factors for their neighborship in the apartment complex. The results develop the housing environment evaluation indexes in community through the contextual understanding of space emotion society.

인지과학의 관점에서 본 서사극 이론 (Epic Theatre Reexamined from the Viewpoint of Cognitive Science)

  • Reexamining Brecht's theoretical hypotheses in terms of cognitive science, this essay arrived at several temporary interpretations. Cognitive science implies that empathy can precede the rational understanding in Verfremdungseffekt. The spectator tends to simulate the unfamiliar incident and character and feels the consequential embodied emotion that leads to the cognitive understanding. The similar situation can be found in social gestus. According to cognitive science, gesture(social gestus) is simulated in the mirror-neuron of spectator, arousing consequently the embodied emotion that triggers the succeeding understanding. The spectator apts to experience and feel physically the moving gesture before decoding it as a social signification. Brecht's intention that attempts to reveal the duality of actor and character by eliminating the fourth wall is negated by cognitive science. According to the theory of conceptual blending, the spectator under the eliminated fourth wall mixes actor and character, and simulates this blending image so that he experiences it imaginatively. As such, another kind of illusion can be formed when a fourth wall is collapsed. Meanwhile, the critical thinking of spectator Brecht wanted can be hard to occur during the performance. It is necessary for the spectator to recollect the bygone dialogue and action in terms of social context as if he presses the pause, stopping the playback while watching a play in video. In this respect the social meaning Brecht intended can be achieved more effectively by the stop motion like tableau. It would not only give the time for the spectator to consider the implied social signification, but also make him possible to decode a semiotic meaning as if interpreting a still picture. Or it can be delivered by the dialogue that expresses the playwright's critical judgement. In this case, the subject of critical thinking is not the spectator but the author. The alternative explanation that the cognitive science suggests illuminates theoretically the reasons why Brecht's theory fails to be realized in practice. In a sense, Brecht's theory is nothing but a theoretical hypothesis. It takes the premise that the emotion hinders the rational thinking, understanding emotion and reason oppositively like Plato. This assumption is negated easily by the recent cognitive science that sees the reason as a by-product of physical experience including emotion. The rational understanding, in this sense, begins from the embodied emotion. As such the cognitive science denies the dichotomy of emotion and reason that Brecht adopted. The theoretical hypothesis of cognitive science makes us recognize again the importance of bodily experience in theatre. In theatre the spectator tends to experience physically before decoding the intellectual meaning. The spectator Brecht wanted, therefore, is far from the reality. The spectator usually experiences and reacts physically before decoding the meaning critically. Thus Brecht's intention can be realized by the embodied emotion resulted from simulation. This tentative interpretation suggests that we need to pay more attention to the empirical study of spectatorship, not remaining in a speculative study.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide an understanding of the designs that aid in the production or selection of clothing that generally corresponds with the contours of the human body. The study looks at effective and attractive clothing design used in various situations with the goal of gaining understanding of the nuances of women's jackets. To achieve the goals of this jacket study, a sensuous test was employed and several horizontal sections, based on silhouette appearance, were compared and then analysed. The sensuous test was aimed at understanding the visual effects of the silhouette of the jacket.
