  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify on the perceptions of family care-givers toward use of physical restraints according to their values, beliefs, and perceptions using Q methodology. Methods: Thirty-three family care-givers classified 41 selected Q-statements into 9 points standard. The obtained data were analyzed by using a pc QUANL program. Results: Principal component analysis identified 4types of the perceptions of family care-givers toward the use of physical restraints. Type I is 'Rational accepted', which means that they perceived the restraints are essential therapeutic devices and had cooperative attitude to use of medical staffs' restraints. Type II is 'Sardonic sensibility', which means that they have a negative and a cynical attitude to use of physical restraints. Type III is 'Ambivalent', which means that they have conflicts between rationality and emotion, and type IV is 'Practical claim of a right', which means they insist that patients and their family members must be provided with a detailed explanation regarding the application of physical restraints. Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest that perceptions toward the use of physical restraints among family care-givers should be understood for patients' safety and dignity in medical circumstance. Based on the results, this study will be useful in developing the customized nursing intervention for supporting family care-givers' subjectivity considering the Korean context.

  • The robot has recently emerged as a factor in the daily lives of humans, taking the form of a mechanical pet or similar source of entertainment. A robot system that is designed to co-exist with humans, i.e., a coexistence-type robot system, is important to be "it exists in various environments with the person, and robot system by which the interaction of n physical, informational emotion with the person etc. was valued". When studying the impact of intimacy in the human/robot relationship, we have to examine the problems that can arise as a result of physical intimacy(coordination on safety in the hardware side and a soft side). Furthermore, We should also consider the informational aspects of intimacy (recognition technology, and information transport and sharing).

  • Recent trends in online commerce shows that multi-channels including offline and online become prevailing as a standard type of channel. However, literature survey revealed that there exist few studies about how an individual negative emotion such as neuroticism affects trust transfer between channels, and usage continuance intention. To fill the research void like this, this study proposes an research model where trust transfer between offline and online channels is included, and neuroticism is also adopted as a moderating variable between trust transfer, satisfaction, and usage continuance intention. Empirical results with valid 406 questionnaires revealed that neuroticism has a negative influence on online commerce users' perceived usage continuance intention.

  • In this study, we learned about the emergence of on-line communications originating from peoseuteol Computer Communications, the limitations of online communication, and the definition, traits and development of emoticons that serve as complementary roles, such as emotion and status. After analyzing various literacture and references, it was found that the emoticons functioned as a function of communicating the visual language of the digital era and communicating more sensitively to emotional factors. In a multimedia environment, emoticons are developed at a more advanced stage as the users' own icons due to a stronger tendency to pursue particularity and uniqueness. It is expected that eomotions added with multimedia functions will be more popular and vary in type. However, although the diversification of emotions as a commercial tool is already actively progressing, there appears a reverse effect in which an excessive use of emoticons is considered insincere in online communications. In such a background, research should be conducted that can support a systematic and effective development of emoticons through visual research rather than producing multimedia emoticons indiscreetly.

  • Trustless, depression, happiness is a normal human emotion that everyone experiences at times. People face problems and hard circumstances every day due to an environment, social life, or traumatic developments in their lives. This study focused on a particular type of inconsistency patterns of behavior that experiences' students during the school time. Some students find depression interferes with their learning and test taking to such an extent that their grades are seriously affected. This study examined the awareness and readiness of a sample of Saudi Arabian high school teachers to recognize, understand, and respond to the ways in which students may respond to testing situations with depression. Findings suggest teachers learn from experience to use both direct and indirect ways to identify students with depression; employ test preparation and test taking strategies to help students reduce depression; and reach out to parents for additional assistance where teacher strategies are not sufficient.

  • This study aimed to develop an ontology for Thai country songs by using the seven steps of an ontology development process. Hozo-Ontology Editor software and Ontology Application Management Framework were tools used in this study. Nine classes of ontology were identified: song, singer, emotion, author, language used, language type, song style, original, and content, and it was found that the song class had a relationship with all of the other classes. The developed ontology was evaluated by seeking opinions from experts in the field of Thai country songs, who agreed that the ontology was highly effective. Additionally, the evaluation employed the knowledge retrieval concept, and the precision, recall, and overall effectiveness were measured, with a precision of 92.59%, a recall of 86.21%, and an overall effectiveness (F-measure) of 89.28%. These results indicate that the developed ontology is highly effective in describing the scope of knowledge of Thai country songs.

  • Research from many marketing fields shows that the importance of factors which ultimately reflect customers' satisfaction towards a product or service vary with the progression of time. Likewise, the emotions that users experience from using the product can vary with prolonged interaction with the product itself. Thus, research was conducted under the notion that users' emotions at the initial stage of product usage is likely to vary with that at a later stage, when users would have had more experience with the product. In this research, a comparison was made between the emotions felt by customers with first-hand experience with the iPhone and those felt by long-time iPhone users who already had much more opportunities to familiarize themselves with the product. The results of the research conducted above show that, with first usage of the iPhone, users experience a relatively low level of negative emotions(Uncomfortableness) due to the predominance of the users' positive emotions. Over prolonged usage, however, the level of negative emotions associated with the usage of the iPhone has been shown to increase. Still, it is impossible to state that the Uncomfortableness associated with iPhone usage is high in general. In fact, it has been shown that positive emotions were rather experienced by iPhone users both before and after usage, suggesting that the emotions involved during iPhone usage was generally positive. Although more research would need to be conducted to safeguard this claim, it can be generally deduced from the results of this research that:when using a product, positive emotions in terms of the reflective level accounts for much of the negative emotions(i.e. discomfort) associated with behavioral level with regard to the product itself.
