시멘트 생산과정에 따른 CaO 함량과 CO2의 발생량 (The CO2 Emission in the Process of Cement Manufacture Depending on CaO Content)

  • 이 연구에서는 시멘트 생산공정에서 석회석 원료에 따른 $CO_2$ 배출량 및 그에 따른 물리적 특성을 파악하기 위해 국내 6개사의 보통포틀랜드시멘트에 대한 CaO 함유량 및 모르타르의 압축강도를 측정하였다. 탈탄산반응 시 발생되는 CaO와 각각의 시멘트에 함유된 석회석의 손실량에 대하여 CaO 함유량 및 압축강도, $CO_2$ 배출량과의 관계를 비교분석하였다. 단위 시멘트에 대한 $CO_2$ 배출량 산정 결과 석회석의 탈탄산에 따른 $CO_2$ 배출량이 전체 배출량의 67%가량 차지하였고, 시멘트 제조 시 공정관리에 따라 $CO_2$ 배출량에 차이가 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 $CO_2$ 배출의 주요 인자로 화석연료의 사용 및 재료 손실률이 지대한 영향을 미친다는 것을 확인하였다. 시멘트 내의 CaO 함유량이 증가함에 따라 압축강도 역시 증가하였으며, CaO 손실량이 클수록 CaO 함유량 및 압축강도는 감소하였으나 $CO_2$ 배출량은 증가함에 따라 시멘트 제조 시 CaO 생성량보다는 재료 및 공정관리가 $CO_2$ 배출에 더 영향력이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 포졸란계 혼화재인 PFA, GGBS를 사용함으로서 이에 따른 가격, $CO_2$ 배출 및 강도증진 효과가 있음을 확인하였다.

부산지역 경유버스를 CNG버스로 대체시 발생하는 대기오염물질 배출량 산정 및 변화 분석 (Estimation of Air Pollutant Emissions for the Conversion of Diesel to CNG in the Busan Metropolitan Area)

  • The emissions of several air pollutants ($NO_x$, CO, VOCs, etc.) for the replacement of all diesel buses by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses were estimated in the Busan Metropolitan Area (BMA). These emissions were calculated from emission factors considering the different driving speeds with bus routes, distance traveled, and deterioration factors. For the purpose of this study, three categories of fuel type were selected: (1) the combination of diesel (65%) and CNG buses (35%) (DSL+CNG case), (2) all diesel buses (DSL case), and (3) all CNG buses (CNG case). The emissions of $NO_x$ and CO in the CNG case were estimated to be significant decreases (by about 50% and 98%, respectively) relative to the DSL case. Conversely, the emission of VOCs (980.7 ton/year) in the CNG case were a factor of 3.3 higher than that (299.8 ton/year) in the DSL case. In addition, the diurnal variations of emissions between two city buses (e.g. diesel and CNG) and all other vehicles were distinctly different because the two city buses operate at a regular time interval. Our overall results suggest the possibility that the pollutant emissions from the CNG buses can exert less influence on air quality in the target area than those from the diesel buses.

건축용 바닥재로부터의 휘발성유기화합물 방출특성 (Emission Characteristics of Volatile Organic Compounds from Building Flooring Materials)

  • 에너지절감에 대한 인식이 높아짐에 따라 점차 건물이 밀폐화되고 있으며, 이로 인하여 실내공기질에 영향을 미치는 건축자재로부터의 휘발성유기화합물 방출에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 그러므로 실내공기질을 개선하는데 있어 건축자재로부터의 VOCs 방출특성을 파악하는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 우리나라가 온돌문화인 점을 고려하여 대표적인 건축자재인 온돌마루와 접착제를 대상으로, 방출챔버시험을 통하여 온도 및 시간경과에 따른 헥산, 톨루엔 및 TVOCs 방출특성을 살펴보았다. VOCs의 방출속도는 온도와 비례관계를 나타내었으며, 바닥재에 존재하는 VOCs 발생원이 어느 위치에, 어떠한 형태로 존재하느냐가 시간의 경과에 따른 방출특성에 크게 영향을 미친다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 즉, 건축자재로부터의 헥산, 톨루엔의 방출은 전반적으로 초기에 방출속도가 높고 시간이 지남에 따라 점차 줄어드는 경향을 보이고 있으나, 온돌마루로부터의 톨루엔 방출은 다른 양상을 보이는데 시간이 지남에 따라 방출속도가 오히려 증가하여 6시간 경과 후 최대값을 보인 뒤 점차 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 이는 온돌마루에 함유되어 있는 톨루엔 발생원이 자재의 내부에 많이 존재하고 있기 때문에 시간이 경과함에 따라 방출속도가 증가했다가 다시 감소하는 경향을 보인 것으로 추정된다. 바닥재로부터의 VOCs 방출특성 실험결과를 종합하여 살펴보면, 온돌시스템에서 방출되는 고농도의 VOCs에 인체노출을 줄이기 위해서는 이사하기 전에 적어도 72시간 이상의 Bake-out 시간이 필요할 것이라 사료된다.

EXPERIMENTAL ANALYSIS OF DRIVING PATTERNS AND FUEL ECONOMY FOR PASSENGER CARS IN SEOUL

  • There are a lot of factors that influence automotive fuel economy such as average trip time per kilometer, average trip speed, the number of times of vehicle stationary, and so forth. These factors depend on road conditions and traffic environment. In this study, various driving data were measured and recorded during road tests in Seoul. The accumulated road test mileage is around 1,300 kilometers. The objective of the study is to identify the driving patterns of the Seoul metropolitan area and to analyze the fuel economy based on these driving patterns. The driving data which was acquired through road tests was analysed statistically in order to obtain the driving characteristics via modal analysis, speed analysis, and speed-acceleration analysis. Moreover, the driving data was analyzed by multivariate statistical techniques including correlation analysis, principal component analysis, and multiple linear regression analysis in order to obtain the relationships between influencing factors on fuel economy. The analyzed results show that the average speed is around 29.2 km/h, and the average fuel economy is 10.23 km/L. The vehicle speed of the Seoul metropolitan area is slower, and the stop-and-go operation is more frequent than FTP-75 test mode which is used for emission and fuel economy tests. The average trip time per kilometer is one of the most important factors in fuel consumption, and the increase of the average speed is desirable for reducing emissions and fuel consumption.

  • 본 연구에서는 숫돌입자, 결합자 및 기공으로 조성된 연삭숫돌의 구조를 다공질 포성체로 보고, WA계 비트리파이드(vitrified) 및 레지노이드(resinoid) 결합자의 연삭숫돌시험편에 대하여 AE 계측방법을 이용한 인장, 압축, 굽힘 및 압렬시험을 실시하여 Babel과 Sines의 2축응력장해소이론과 연삭숫돌의 파괴조건을 관련시켜 평가함과 동시에, 이 때 검출되는 AE 신호 처리 파라미터(Parameter) 로부터 연삭숫돌의 자인자가 파괴강도 및 AE특성에 미치는 영향을 구명하여 파괴의 예지및 연삭숫돌수명의 예측가능성등의 파괴강도특성을 평가고찰하였다.

The study of shape of electrodes and I-V characteristics for Ultraviolet LED

  • About functional parameters of a LED/UVLED (Light Emitting Diode/Ultra Violet LED), one of the most important parameters is the I-V characteristic. By researching factors affect to the I-V characteristic of uvled, we found that beside of the structure of the device itself, there is the influence of the electrode materials, electrode shapes, the process of wiring and packaging. In this work, we want to improve the performance of UVLED to find out the optimal mask design principles. The study is based on theoretical mathematical models, as well as the use of simulation software tool Comsol. From all results obtained, the team has improved mask design to manufacture electrodes for GaN-based UVLED. Electrode masks are designed by three softwares, which are Intellisuite, Klayout and AutoCad. Intellisuite masks would be used in fabrication simulation while Klayout and AutoCad are used to fabricate electrodes in experiments. As well as, we silmulated the structure of an uvled 355nm emission wavelength by TCAD software, in order to compare with uvled sample that has the same emission wavelength.

준 실시간 측정시스템을 이용한 미세입자 원소성분 배출특성 조사 (Emission Characteristics of Elemental Constituents in Fine Particulate Matter Using a Semi-continuous Measurement System)

  • Fine particulate matter < $1.8{\mu}m$ was collected as a slurry using the Semicontinuous Elements in Aerosol Sampler with time resolution of 30-min between May 23 and 27, 2002 at the Sydney Supersite, Florida, USA. Concentrations of 11 elements, i.e., Al, As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, Se, and Zn, in the collected slurry samples were determined off-line by simultaneous multi-element graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry. Temporal profiles of $SO_2$ and elemental concentrations combined with meteorological parameters such as wind direction and wind speed indicate that some transient events in their concentrations are highly correlated with the periods when the plume from an animal feed supplement processing facility influenced the Sydney sampling site. The peaking concentrations of the elemental species during the transient events varied clearly as the plume intensity varied, but the relative concentrations for As, Cr, Pb, and Zn with respect to Cd showed almost consistent values. During the transient events, metal concentrations increased by factors of >10~100 due to the influence of consistent plumes from an individual stationary source. Also the multi-variate air dispersion receptor model, which was previously developed by Park et al. (2005), was applied to ambient $SO_2$ and 8 elements (Al, As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Pb, and Zn) measurements between 20:00 May 23 and 09:30 May 24 when winds blew from between 70 and $85^{\circ}$, in which animal feed processing plant is situated, to determine emission and ambient source contributions rates of $SO_2$ and elements from one animal feed processing plant. Agreement between observed and predicted $SO_2$ concentrations was excellent (R of 0.99; and their ratio, $1.09{\pm}0.35$) when one emission source was used in the model. Average ratios of observed and predicted concentrations for As, Cd, Cr, Pb, and Zn varied from $0.83{\pm}0.26$ for Pb to $1.12{\pm}0.53$ for Cd.

사고 및 대기오염 비용을 고려한 서울 시내버스업체의 효율성 분석 (방향거리함수를 이용하여) (Analysis of the Efficiency of Urban Bus Companies in Seoul Considering Accident and Emission Costs (Using a Directional Distance Function))

  • 본 연구는 2004년 서울시 대중교통개편 이후 시내버스업체가 효율적인 운영을 하고 있는지, 사고와 대기오염을 줄이려는 노력을 하고 있는지에 대한 성과를 업체별로 비교하기 위하여 방향거리함수를 통한 효율성을 측정하였다. 2005년 6월 한달 동안의 자료로서 운전사, 정비사, 임직원수, 차량, 연료를 투입물 자료로, 차량-km(유익한 산출물), 사고비용, 대기오염 비용(유해한 산출물)을 산출물 자료로 사용하였다. 유해한 산출물 고려여부에 따른 대안별 효율성을 비교해 본 결과, 유해한 산출물을 고려한 경우가 고려하지 않은 경우보다 평균적으로 효율성은 낮았으나 효율업체 수는 더 많게 나타났다. 이유는 유해한 산출물을 고려할 경우 투입물의 감소 가능성보다 유해한 산출물의 감소 가능성이 적은 업체의 수가 증가한 반면, 업체들간의 효율성 편차는 커지기 때문이다. 한편 효율성에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 살펴 본 결과, CNG 차량의 보급을 늘리고, 운행속도를 높이며, 정비효율을 높일수록 효율성에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

The Characteristics of the Appearance and Health Risks of Volatile Organic Compounds in Industrial (Pohang, Ulsan) and Non-Industrial (Gyeongju) Areas

  • Objectives: The aim of this study was to identify the health and environmental risk factors of air contaminants that influence environmental and respiratory diseases in Gyeongju, Pohang and Ulsan in South Korea, with a focus on volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Methods: Samples were collected by instantaneous negative pressure by opening the injection valve in the canister at a fixed height of 1 to 1.5 m. The sample that was condensed in $-150^{\circ}C$ was heated to $180^{\circ}C$ in sample pre-concentration trap using a 6-port switching valve and it was injected to a gas chromatography column. The injection quantity of samples was precisely controlled using an electronic flow controller equipped in the gas chromatography-mass spectrometer. Results: The quantity of the VOC emissions in the industrial area was 1.5 to 2 times higher than that in the non-industrial area. With regards to the aromatic hydrocarbons, toluene was detected at the highest level of 22.01 ppb in Ulsan, and chloroform was the halogenated hydrocarbons with the highest level of 10.19 ppb in Pohang. The emission of toluene was shown to be very important, as it accounted for more than 30% of the total aromatic hydrocarbon concentration. Conclusions: It was considered that benzene in terms of the cancer-causing grade standard, toluene in terms of the emission quantity, and chloroform and styrene in terms of their grades and emission quantities should be selected for priority measurement substances.

입력변수의 조건에 따른 대기확산모델의 민감도 분석 (Sensitivity Analysis of the Atmospheric Dispersion Modeling through the Condition of Input Variable)

  • In order to how well predict ISCST3(lndustrial Source Complex Short Term version 3) model dispersion of air pollutant at point source, sensitivity was analysed necessary parameters change. ISCST3 model is Gaussian plume model. Model calculation was performed with change of the wind speed, atmospheric stability and mixing height while the wind direction and ambient temperature are fixed. Fixed factors are wind direction as the south wind(l80") and temperature as 298 K(25 "C). Model's sensitivity is analyzed as wind speed, atmospheric stability and mixing height change. Data of stack are input by inner diameter of 2m, stack height of 30m, emission temperature of 40 "C, outlet velocity of 10m/s. On the whole, main factor which affects in atmospheric dispersion is wind speed and atmospheric stability at ISCST3 model. However it is effect of atmospheric stability rather than effect of distance downwind. Factor that exert big influence in determining point of maximum concentration is wind speed. Meanwhile, influence of mixing height is a little or almost not.
