An analysis on in-service elementary school teachers' current status and needs toward educational programming language(EPL) (현직 초등 교사들의 교육용 프로그래밍 언어(EPL)에 관한 실태 및 요구 분석)

  • 본 논문에서는 2015 개정 교육과정에서 강조하고 있는 SW 교육의 교육용 프로그래밍 언어(EPL)에 대한 현직 초등 교사들의 실태와 요구를 분석하였다. 현직 초등 교사들이 대부분 이수한 교대의 교육과정에는 교육용 프로그래밍 언어 교육에 관한 내용은 대다수 없는 것으로 파악되었다. 또한 현장에서 실시되고 있는 교육용 프로그래밍 언어에 관한 연수는 양적으로도 연수의 수가 부족할 뿐만 아니라 질적으로도 개선이 필요한 것으로 분석되었다. 교육용 프로그래밍 언어에 대한 현직 교사의 사례들에서도 교육용 프로그래밍 언어에 대한 교사교육에 관한 다양한 요구가 분석되었다. 이를 통하여 교육용 프로그래밍 언어에 대한 초등 교사교육의 필요성과 방향에 대하여 제언하였다.

  • 이 연구의 목적은 기존 EPL 관련 연구들을 조사 및 수집하여 메타분석을 통해 초등학생의 고등사고력 향상에 미치는 전체 효과 크기의 산출과 다양한 변인에 따른 효과크기를 확인하는 것이다. 그래서 이 연구로 초등학생의 고등사고력 및 다양한 요인들에 대한 EPL 교육의 실제적 효과를 객관적으로 확인하고 일반화하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 1)EPL을 활용한 교육이 초등학생들의 고등사고력을 크게 향상시키는 교수학습 도구임이 확인되었고, 2) EPL을 활용한 교육은 창의적 사고력, 논리적 사고력 등의 향상에 크게 도움이 되는 것으로 확인되었으며, 3) App Inventor, Scratch, Dolittle 등이 고등사고력 향상에 미치는 효과가 큰 것으로 확인되었다.

Direction in Health Education of smoking Prevention for Elementary School Children (초등학생의 흡연예방 보건교육 방향에 관한 연구 - 초등학교 교사 의견을 기반으로 -)

  • In order to provide a desirable direction for the health education on preventing smoking of elementary school students, by understanding the views held by elementary school teachers on smoking prevention education, 529 teachers at elementary schools located in Seoul were responded by constructed questionnaires during the period of Nov. 15 to Dec. 18 1999. The results of the survey analysis were as follows: 1. 91.9% of the respondents said that schools should offer education programs on preventing smoking, and this view was more strongly shared by teachers with religions than non-religious ones. 2. 37.6% of teachers responded that the education should start with 4th-5th graders, while 36.0% opted for 6th grades. With regard to the appropriate class in providing such education, 41.1% selected physical education (PE), followed by extracurricular activity class with 28.8%, 45.1% of the respondents said discussion would be the most effective education method, while 39.9% recommended using experiments. fall in diseases and growth and developmental defect were pointed out as the most interesting topic for students by 33.2% and 28.1% of the surveyed, respectively. As for the most effective media for education, 57.2% recommended video, followed by computer games(19.2%) and cartoons (20.0%). 64.1% of the teachers picked school nurses as the most appropriate person in carrying out the education. The results of the finding show that it would be most desirable to provide health education on preventing smoking to senior elementary schoolers during the PE or extracurricular activity class by school nurses. The program would be structured to first show video clips on growth and developmental defect or fall in diseases resulting from smoking and to have discussions or experiments on related matters.

  • Scratch programming comes into the spotlight as Education Programming Language. Especially, it is made better use at educational class by accessibility and visuality in elementary school. But most of latest research is just focus on effective for programming education and prove effectiveness once more. In this study, possibility about curriculum using Scratch programming and specific applicable methods were suggested. This research suggested that how to study with scratch programming through lesson "Make a pattern" in 5th grade Math curriculum at elementary school. And there was reflected that we can verify programming procedure visually and improve creativity.

  • Since 2001, we have taught computer in elementary school to become the advanced country of IT in the 21C. However, people criticized that ICT education which is consisted mainly of the computer skills is not appropriate for information literacy education. In 2005, "ICT Education Guide Rev." is published. Thereafter, information literacy education has systematic frame. The experts emphasize the importance of performance assessment. Computer education can become the problem solving education if the performance assessment carried out. However, it is not successful without the good rubrics for performance assessment In this paper, we developed the rubrics for performance assessment for "presentation document writing".

  • According to the 2015 revised curriculum, the software education was provided to elementary school education in Korea. In Korea, information education became a necessary education. However, in Korea elementary school, information education is still not operated as an independent subject. This study examines the information education curriculum and information education textbook contents at the national level of Korea and China. The implications of this study can help establish the direction of information education in Korea.

  • Robot education is the learning instrument suitable for the logical thinking and problem solving ability of students, but in the elementary school, research data for curriculum, teaching material developing, and special teacher for the purpose of efficient robot education is rare. So this study investigated and researched on the educational use of robot as the instrument for enhancement of the logical ability and the problem solving ability of elementary school students. In order to introduce contents related to robot in the elementary, I investigated and analyzed what is discussed. I analyzed their opinions for the efficient robot education of the elementary school student through the questionary survey of the elementary school teacher in charge of robot education in the discretion activity class. and I suggested the condition of robot, proper contents, the form of robot, and teaching & learning method suitable for introduction in the elementary school curriculum based on analyzed contents.

  • Although online education has many advantages such as providing huge information and overcoming time and space limit over the traditional education, its effects may not be good unless proper user interface is not provided. Only well-designed interface can allow students to learn correct information quickly and study creatively and actively. The purpose of this study is to design and implement user interface suitable for elementary school students. In this study, in order to design proper user interface for elementary school students, factors affecting human-computer interaction have been analyzed and adopted. Also, design and structure of existing educational portal sites are analyzed so that the most common design elements are adopted. Finally, extensive survey is carried out in order to examine preference and navigation style of elementary school students and teachers. The survey results are reflected on the design principles of this work.

  • This research aims to investigate elementary school teacher's perception and needs of computer and information literacy education to provide basic materials so that computer and information literacy education converges with related subject and can be done in various educational contexts. In order to achieve the goal for this research, we conducted an online questionnaire survey on the current status of teachers, the perception and status of convergence education for computer and information literacy, and the needs for convergence education for computer and information literacy. As a result of the analysis, when the teacher majored in computer and information education or had experience in software education, the percentage of respondents who said that it is possible to converge for computer and information literacy is high. Also, It was found that the burden of following the class progress according to the curriculum was high. In the school environment, preparation for software tool was found to be insufficient. we suggested the strategic implications in terms of education direction, teacher training, education program, and learning tool based on the analysis results.

  • This study is to make a comparison with actual condition on the computer specialty and aptitude for elementary school of city and farm with questionnairing and to hit with improvement plan. They have several difference from supplying teachers, bankrolling educational expenses but several points of sameness on requiring professional ability, operating study and training, limiting the receiving. Accordingly, if leading the quality improvement of the computer specialty and aptitude by forming stable employing mood, operating various programs, bankrolling educational expenses, extending study and training opportunity in elementary school, students will get opportunities to develope their ability and aptitude.
