In this paper, we applied NIE(Newspaper In Education) to the course of study for statistics unit of elementary mathematics which can improve students' abilities of concept of statistics, analyzing data and problem solving so they can do these with direct activity by themselves and find out how NIE effects on children's learning achievement for statistics unit and more effective solution for the course of study for elementary mathematics.

In this paper, we build a primary school textbook corpus and a statistical analysis was performed with respect to the vocabulary found in elementary textbooks. also We performed the Spearman's correlation coefficient in order to explore whether similar elementary textbooks in general life used vocabulary. the result of this study shows that corpus building in the form of elementary school textbooks and actual examples. then numerically shown correlation of the elementary textbooks and general corpus.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the contents on statistics in elementary mathematics textbook according to 2009 school curriculum. And we analyzed the elementary mathematics textbook in the light of data collection, graph understanding level suggested by Cursio. Specially, we analyzed the contents within the framework of evaluation norm suggested in 2015 school curriculum. We expect that this study will be a fundamental reference for the development of textbook according to 2015 school curriculum.

Probability and statistics is an important section in mathematics which is deeply related to everyday living, natural science and social science. In spite of its importance, many students will throw away it because it becomes very harder as its step(stage) deepens and probability and statistics' relative importance is very small in Korea-SAT(the test of college entrance in Korea). Therefore, by analyzing the involvement carefully between the curriculum in the elementary, middle, high school and the text book, by studying the problem and improvement direction, it is necessary to investigate an effective teaching method. This study intends to give the students the confidence, interests, and accomplishment motive about probability and statistics field and to make a rational and creative decision-making through mathematical speculation by proposing an effective teaching method through analyzing an existing facts in school's probability and statistics field. The contents of this study are composed of four chapters. Chapter three looks into the mathematical curriculum in the elementary, middle, high school and its teaching meaning, the outline of contents, some tips on teaching and problems and presents an effective and concrete teaching method on the basis of the theoretical background in the chapter two. Chapter four is a conclusive part and gives the general improvement and intentional direction in educating the probability and statistics.

We can use R package as a statistical package on the education of probability and statistics in elementary, middle and high school mathematics. R is an interactive mode package and graphical presentation tools in R are powerful. The greatest advantage is that R is a general public license package. We need to consider R package as a standard statistical package on the education of probability and statistics in elementary, middle and high school mathematics.

In this thesis, we conduct a comprehensive analysis of the current situation and the inherent problems found in modern statistics education in Elementary School. There are statistical curriculum, 7th textbook of elementary school level, practise of statistics class, connection of real life etc. Through analysis of these given problem, we explore the future direction of statistical education. Therefore, the statistical learning to make statistical situations and pose problems based on students' interests and students-related situations should be an effects on positive mathematical attitude and statistical thinking which could develop understanding statistical problems and thinking.

In order to establish basic data before deciding on the ways to manage school dental hygiene project, this study polled 165 elementary school teachers. Collected data was used SPSS 12.0 statistics program and got the technical statistics and This research and analysis came to the following conclusion by using Fridmen rank test, Pearson's correlation. 1. To the question about how they acquire the knowledge of dental hygiene, 60.6 percent of elementary school teachers turned out to learn about it through mass media(TV, Internet, magazines). 2. Regarding the purpose to maintain dental hygiene, "the prevention of dental diseases" ranked highest, and next "the prevention of cavity" and "the cure of halitosis" appeared at the similar level, and "to become a good model of children" and "to serve the esthetic purpose" ranked lowest. 3. As to the ways to prevent cavity, regular visits to dental clinic and daily brushing turned out to be more effective preventation method. 4. As for the degree of recognition of fluoride, the correct answer about fluoride that is recovered slight caries is appeared 11.8%, that was lowest correct answer ratio.

The purpose of this study is to find the correlation between the level of 6th graders' achievement level in Probability and Statistics education, which were proposed in the curriculum, which targeted the 6th graders in the elementary school, and statistical literacy. For this, first, questions asking the achievement level in the probability and statistics(Part A), and questions asking the statistical literacy(Part B), were used to study the achievement level of the students. Second, the achievement level in the probability and statistics, and the statistical literacy were measured. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, questionnaire that consists of 10 questions was invented. The questionnaire was divided into Part 1 and Part 2 under the consideration upon the characteristics of the questions. The results of the questionnaires given to the students were classified into "high, medium, and low" and were separated into 7 categories. Results of comparing category 3 and category 6, which have shown opposing tendencies, we could find that students who are good at school mathematics and students with high statistical literacy have respective and different characteristics. For actually effective statistical education, consideration upon and reflection of core aspects such as intuition and critical thinking in the curriculum are needed.

The purpose of this study were to identify consumer educational needs of elementary school teachers and to analyze the factors affecting it. The data for the analysis were collected by structured questionaires and consisted of 253 elementary school teachers living in Taegu city. The descriptive statistics, t-test and one way ANOVA with Scheffee test were used to analyse the data. The following is summary of major findings. 1. Teachers though that the topics related to environment protection and consumption value were the most important in the consumer education of elementary school among the five topics. These topics were also very emphasized in the current elementary school curriculum. The topics related to consumer citizenship and buying were ranked as the highest scores of the educational needs of teachers. Therefore these topics should be emphasized in the future consumer education curriculum of elementary school. 2. The age, sex and period of educational career of teacher. teacher’s perception of student’s and teacher’s interests about consumer education and teacher’s wants of on-the job traing were found to be the factors affecting consumer educational needs of elementary teachers.

This paper analyzed contents related to statistics in the 7th elementary mathematics curriculum in conjunction with main changes in the recent revised curriculum. This paper then provided detailed analyses of textbooks and workbooks in terms of main contents, instructional methods of graphs, and comprehension of graphs required to students in order to look closely at how such instructional materials would put the vision of the curriculum into action. It is expected that the issues and suggestions stemming from this analysis are informative in constructing new textbooks and workbooks.
